Many times when I click on a link that does not use a new tab, a new page opens under my current page, instead of 'on top'. How do I get new pgs to Open On Top

Waka, I have Kaspersky running 24/7 but Cor-el (from Superman, I think) gave me a list of software to try.
Cor-el, the middle click seemed to work on a page that went under, which I deleted and tried again with the wheel click.
Waka and Cor-el, I have been planning to reinstall my Windows 7 OS and upgrade it to Pro, from Home at the same time. Will possibly re-partition C: and -will- reformat it. Will have to re-install ALL my software plus some of my softwares' user information, which I have also backed up, along with favorites and many others.

In Thunderbird, you need to re-register http and https to make them open with Firefox (or open well with firefox in this case).
How to to this?
Well... open the about:config in thunderbird. You can achieve this by clicking configuration-editor in the advanced tab.
search for the strings: network.protocol-handler.warn-external.https and network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http. Set both to "true".
The next time you click on a link from within Thunderbird, it will ask you to set wich program you'd like to open it with.
Be Aware now!!! Firefox may already be listed in there, but don't pick that one. instead... choose to browse for the app and point to the binairy/exe of firefox.
(for example: /usr/bin/firefox or c:/program files/mozilla/firefox.)
You will notice that firefox now does open up with the page you just clicked on.
If it doesn't right away... just restart thunderbird and check again.
Please respond if this works for you too on all platforms. It's more interesting to know it does than if it's not.

the laptop has windows 7, firefox version I have is 3.6.17.
Version number 4 I cant download and install the laptop doesnt accept why? I do not know. the problem just happened a few days ago, with version 3.6.17 everything was fine, but one day I could not open my mail, I can access my mail normally, but I can not open my mail when I give it a click, or other type of folder, either spam, deleted, drafts etc. PLEASE HELP ME!
I always got the version 3.6 and never before had given me problems, newer versions 4.0.1 as the laptop does not accept throws me a message saying "the file is corrupt" is not whether it be because I have to update or unconfigure ayudenme firefoxBut where is manufacturer warranty then ? From time to time when I click a searched link the color of visited links does not change. It works fine after I delete history and cookies. Can I fix that. I am using windows XP. Thanks
Here's the error message I get.
Note the TC is connected to my Airport Extreme via ethernet and my iMac is also connected to the AX via ethernet so it's not a wifi issue.
I can see the TC in the finder so it's not 'gone' from the network either.
Also note that just then the TM system pref pane was claiming a backup error, citing my 'network password' and still refusing to backup. I waited 5 minutes and did some tidying of my office while I pondered this and then tried again and voila it worked ok. -
I am trying to view my pay stubs online but nothing happens when I click on the link. Does anyone know why, I never had a problem viewing them with my pc?
Nobody knows why because you have not provided sufficient information. Web site? Browser? How do you see your pay stubs online? Company web site? Unsecure?

Are you sure it doesn't start? Just opening preview doesn't open a file. Look in the top left of the menubar and see if it says preview. Double click on a PDF file and see if that opens preview.

When I click PDF file, the file does not open and installation software for creative suite automatically begin to start. Even after re-installation of creative suite 5.5, only acrobat reader dose not work and the same phenomena occurs.
Did you ever install Acrobat? It is not installed automatically with CS, but requires an extra installation step.

I have a page showing up when I run my Keynote presentation that does not belong there. It's not in the navigation area so there is no obvious way to delete it—how do I remove it?
Not sure if these will help... In the navigator view, is there a triangle next to the slide that appears before the slide that does not belong? If so, click it and you might find the extra slide in there. Or try View Menu:Light Table and see if you can find it in there.

Create timer function that does not use start-sleep
Hey all I would like to create a timer function that does not use the start-sleep command because this freezes my GUI. I've wrote the start of a function but it seems to move on before the specified time has finished.
Here's what I have:

Then in my script i would like to call Timer -time #of seconds. It seems that when I call it the add_tick is registered and then started but it continues on with the rest of my script. Is there a better way of doing this without using start-sleep?
Thanks!Okay the issue I'm having is that I have code after the $timer.start that I don't wan't to run till a powershell job is done. In all the examples I've seen it has to come to the end of the code then it starts the tick. So in your example it comes to the
end of of your code and showsDialog() then starts ticking.

With previous editions of iTunes for Windows, I could play a CD at the same time as it was being imported. That does not seem to work anymore. Why not, and is there a way to do both with the most current version? I am running a Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 and the most recent vesion of iTunes, which, in all other respects, works well. I just can't listen to an album for the 1/2 to 1 hour that it takes to import it into my library.

When I press on a land line number, the phone does not call the number, but comes up with a screen to send a text to it. How do I get my phone to default to phoneing a landline? When I press a mobile number in contacts, the phone automatically phones the number. I do not mind this as I hardly ever send texts, but I would like to have the option of what to do. This seems such an obvious issue but I can not solve it even with much web searching. Thanks!

Someone sent me an email to look at their shared photo stream....pictures of my new grandson and when I clicked on their link in the email nothing happened...very fustrated....I upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and made sure that I have the correct Iphoto....any ideas.
I just tried the link and it is just fine. If the GateKeeper pops up then open Security & Privacy preferences, click on the General tab, set the last radio button to Anywhere.
