Drag the Word icon back to where it belongs.
Applications > Microsoft Office 2011 > Put Word there.
I'm assuming you have Office 2011. If you have 2008 there should be a similar location to put Word.

Followed cnet direct. to move itunes from c drive to ext. drive, worked, deleted off c, still worked, now says AVFoundationCF.dll not found-reinstall, don't want to lose data

I recently followed cnet directions to move itunes from c drive on pc running xp pro, to external drive, for space reasons. Process worked. I tunes ran from e drive, verified data on e drive, deleted all apple applications on c drive so I could remove itunes and recover space. Verified itunes still worked off of new short cut and and that target was e drive. Now itunes won't open and get message "AVFoundationCF.dll not found - reinstall", or "not installed correctly Error 7 (windows error 126) - reinstall." Tried download, install from apple.com for itunes on c drive, but message "library can't be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes." How do I fix this without losing all of our "material" saved on the itunes program?

Thank you for the reply, but so far no go. I tried through control panel and add remove programs with repair option as suggested but got error..."C:\programs......AppleAplicationSupport.msi cannot be found." This was after I have done new download and install of itunes to the c drive. I have not taken any steps to try use that down load or reload any material on it. I changed path to external drive an folder, E:\ itunes and got the "error not valid installation package." Still looking for answers...

Deleting photos will not work, and my iPhone crashes

Every time I attempt to delete a single or multiple photos, the "Photos" app crashes and takes me back to the home screen. If I check to see the results of the action, the photo(s) has not been deleted yet. I need to delete these photos to clear up memory space.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
If this does not resolve, then make an appointment at the genius bar

Deleted DFS Namespace still works

Hi All,
I inherited a network with a fairly poor DFS Domain based configuration as follows (with no replication):
2x DCs, (DC01(FSMO RoleHolder) & DC03)
1x Storage Server (NAS03)
All servers are 2012R2
DC01 was the name space server pointing at folder targets on NAS03, DC01 failed taking down the namespace, I siezed the roles on DC03, did a metadata cleanup to get rid of DC01, re-installed Windows on DC01 &
promoted it again, the namespace then begun to work again but it was unmanageable so I followed someone's recommendation
to remove the namespace using ADSIEdit & Regedit
I have created a new namespace with a new name (I kept getting an error that the configuration couldn't be read from AD when trying to re-use the old name) and that functions fine however the old namespace
still allows users to access files on it, the DFS console doesn't show it if i try to find namespaces to display.
any ideas how I can get rid of the old name space and any comments on if there was a better way to deal with the old one? (other than the obvious have more than 1 namespace server!)

Since there are two domain controllers, please run "repadmin /syncall" in the environment to manually make them sync the information from AD database.

Deleted adapter will still recieve messages from the hub

Hi!
Short - some background:
We were to move our application from one database to another, and for backup-reasons, we chose to create a new adapter for the new database.
I created an adapter which I made subscribe to a few events. I started the adapter it recieved the messages as it should, working fine parallell with the old one. I stopped the adapters, and copied events from the old adapter to the new. No error messages were given.
For other reasons, in the end, we still chose to use the old adapter for the new database, and so we just changed the connect information in the adapter.ini and started the old adapter. Messages are flowing nicely ;)
But.. no to my problem. The new adapter is now not needed, so therefor, I deleted all of the events for the adapter in iStudio, I deleted the adapter in iStudio and then I deleted the specific folder for the adapter, in the adapter folder on the server.
I then stopped all adapters, I stopped the repository, I checked COMPONENT_INFO to see everything was down (and it was), and I deleted the messages in OAI_HUB_QUEUE which had been queing up for the new adapter.
I purged all of the adapter's persistence folders, I restarted the repository and the adapters. So far so fine....
BUT! Now, even though I did all this.. the adapter still shows as a reciever in my select on my hubque:

I can also see information regarding the adapter in the tables MESSAGEINFOIDTABLE and in APPIDTABLE.
Is it ok to just delete those lines? Anyone have a clue or can tell me where to look or if I did something wrong?

To clarify, your data and time is showing as Dec 31 1012? Or when you go to send a Facebook message you are seeing that as the date?
Under Settings>Date and Time check to ensure the device date and time is accurate.
Are you connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile network when you go to send the message?

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I found some information that might help with transferring information between your computer and Apple TV. I found an article about Home Sharing that talks about what Home Sharing does and how to set it up:

If you are trying to setup Airplay from your computer, I also found some articles on how to set that up. AirPlay Mirroring lets you send what’s on your Mac screen to an HDTV wirelessly with Apple TV. Unwanted icon

how do I get rid of an unwanted icon on my desktop screen. It is the result of an aborted download of an itunes upgrade. When I try putting it into the trash bin I get this message: the item "itunesX" is being used by another task right now.

Rename the file so that it ends in .rtf, and then open TextEdit, and save a new TextEdit document on top of the file you're trying to delete. When prompted, overwrite the existing file, and then throw away the TextEdit document.

When I drag and drop a website onto my desktop, how can I make Firefox use the icon native to that website instead of the default firefox icon?
I have even gone painstakingly (SEVERAL TIMES) to the sites with IE, dragged the site onto my desktop in order to obtain the site native icons for my desktop (and deleted the ones with the Firefox icon) .... but they all soon revert to the default Firefox icon.

(If you go to a site in IE you will see the site generated icon at the left end of the URL in the address field.)

I want to keep Firefox as my default browser.

After updating I ended up with 4 icons on my desktop - I cannot delete any of them. The error message reads; "Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I updated from the original version to 6.0.1 and when I re-started FF there were 4 icons on my desktop. I managed to delete one of them, but I cannot delete the other two - to leave me with just one.
I get the error message of "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source fie or disk".

Here's the meaning of the error that you received.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive"
Possible that the problem is on the recovery also.

How do I delete an old version of card star when there is no icon on the desktop?

I received a notice at the App Store that an update for Cardstar was available. This is on my Gen 1 iPad running iOS 6.1.3. I clicked the upgrade button but the progress bar never indicated progress. Cardstar is listed in Settings, but there is no icon on the desktop. I speculate that during an Cloud synch with my iPhone, that this alias now shows up on the iPad. I tried shutting down. Can't find any way to delete from Settings. On the App Store it shows up as active on my list of needed updates. There, the Cardstar icon shows the progress bar with no progress and the "Installing" button is grayed out. I am sure that I didnt install it on any of my devices other than my iPhone.

I installed the latest version of Firefox (7.0.1) on my Windows XP desktop and the install placed 3 firefox icons on my desktop: none of them work and none of them can be deleted(!)

In properties it says they are not valid shortcuts; when I try to delete it says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" what to do.... Is it possible to go back to a previous version? I was so happy with the previous version - I only installed the latest version because I was in Dreamweaver (the first time literally in years) and I wanted to view an .htm file in firefox, and when I selected that option, firefox automatically did a bunch of stuff I don't understand, but it seemed to me that what happened automatically was that a beta version of Firefox was installed, and I was prompted to select Firefox as the default browser (it has been my default browser forever, not sure how it was all of a sudden not my default browser)... anyway I thought that I could rid myself of the beta version and return to normalacy if I installed the latest version. Now I have these three invalid icons to deal with. Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated. It would make me very happy if I could delete the invalid icons from my desktop, or at least hide them from view somehow. I created a folder on the desktop, and tried to put them into it, but that didn't work.

Open the General tab of the Finder's preferences and set it not to be displayed on the desktop. Alternatively, if it's a disk image or external disk, just drag it to the Trash.
