How can i get the map app to show Spanish street and avenue names in that language ... not in English

i have ipad 4th gen and ipad original ... using both in Bogota Colombia thru the Colombian Apple Store. I have the map app in spanish on the ipad original but cannot change the ipad 4 map app to show the streets (calles), avenues (carreras / avenidas) in spanish ... such as Calle 100 .. or Avenida Suba, etc.
i have changed "always english" to off, changed the overall language to Spanish, rebooted, etc, etc ... but to no avail.

@Peizoandme ... that i have done and that results in changing the tag info language ... direction -> direccion but the map itself does not change ... shows the street name as Street 100 rather than Calle 100 ... what this all causes is when trying to establish routes from home to pin drop for example, message is cannot find. So, still stumped. Thanks for the reply though.

this is coincidently after an ios update for iphone which i did just approx two days earlier which was suppused to fix battery issues?
also battery shows 100 percent full but as i explained if disconected from socket it switches off altogether.

Hopefully and most likely faulty battery. If you have Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

You didn't connect it to your computer or to power, did you?
Wipe it down, put it in a baggie with raw rice or new silica gel packets and set it in a cool, dry area, like a cupboard. Leave it there for 3 - 4 days.
Take it out after this time, wipe it off, use a soft brush to wipe any rice dust from the dock connector, and connect it to your wall charger. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes and then Reset it while it is connected to power. May take several tries. If it revives fully charge it.
If this does not work you can do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple for $199 USD.

I'm not certain the post I sent was posted correctly, as I added it as a reply to a 3-year old thread. Since this is a recently-active thread, though not specific to the issue at hand, I thought I'd post again:
Three years ago you helped me set up a roaming wireless network in my home. It's been rock-steady and I'm forever grateful to you for the time and guidance you gave me. I'd now like to swap out my AirPort Extreme base station for a time capsule. As I understand it, I should be able to unplug the base station and replace it with the TC without problem, so long as I use all the same settings on my TC... network name, security protocol, password, etc. Given the complexity of my network, I thought I should check with you first for any advice you might have. I don't want to set up a new network or make any changes to the existing one-- with the exception of using the TC in place of the AE. I'm already using Time Machine for backups. As a refresher, my current setup has the AE as base station and 3 expresses hard-wired with Ethernet connections elsewhere in my home. I have a 4th express set up wirelessly to use with my stereo system at the front of the house. All AXs are 'n's and are set up, as per your instructions, in Bridge mode to extend the existing network. I'm running the most updated version of Mavericks on my MBPro. I was just listening to my regular playlist and then I tried to discontect Facebook. Suddenly, Spotify changed into Offline-mode. Do I need to change back or something? Why does it say "Offline" when I have full internet connection???? I've tried to shut it down and open again but it doesn't work. HELP PLEASE, I'M DYING HERE.

Mavericks Maps App not showing any images?

My Maps App on the new Mavericks OS is not showing any images.
Can anybody help me ?

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Aperture 2 only showing previews/thumbs (no full screen/no "Viewer Only")

Not sure what's going on, bu Aperture (46k pics on a MBP 3.06) suddenly stopped showing pictures in Viewer/full Screen modes a day ago.
It shows me all the thumbs in Browser mode, but the bigger version of the picture that should be seen in the Viewer Only and Browser and Viewer stays empty the entire time. I see all the meta data in the Viewer window (ISO, version name etc,...) but no big picture. As you might expect, pictures all appear to be present, but, what's going on??

I'm having a similar issue as well! Currently the main viewer has stopped showing images. Full screen seems to be working for the time being, but now I can't use the books feature as I can't see the main viewer!

WRT 120N - Radio Type only shows as "802.11g." Cannot connect as "N"

I have a new dell studio laptop with an internal "N" card as well as an xbox with an N adapter. However, the "radio type" showin in my network list keeps saying "802.11g." I have done the following:
Rebooted, reinstalled the router
Upgraded the firmware
reset to default and created a new ssid.
delereted and reinstalled the connections on both the laptop and the xbox.
When I change the setting in the setup page to "N only," both my computer and xbox lose their connections.
Spent an hour with linksys, they couldn't figure it out. Any ideas???

I have the same model of router (WRT120N) with the latest available firmware and am having the same problem you are having with the network adapter software on the 2 wireless devices I have connected to this router only showing the wireless network I created as B and G, not N. I would not change the N Transmission Rate setting if you have B/G clients in your network because the help file under Wireless --> Advanced Wireless Settings in the router config page states: "Changing the N Transmission Rate other than Auto will disable B/G clients". I have not been able to try the other settings changes suggested by the previous poster, but I will report back here soon if I have any success with them. I would reset the changes you made back to their previous settings to at least make your laptop and Xbox able to connect to the router on 802.11b/g modes for now.

App Store does not load & kills the internet connection

Hello I'm currently using MBP 13' 2011 v. 10.7.2.
App Store window pops up after opening, but nothing actually shows up. It shows as if it is trying to load the App Store with the spinning indicator, but the app remains empty. Not only it does not load, it also kills whatever internet connection I've attempted on Safari. YouTube videos stop loading once App Store opens, for example.

Using Remote app on iPhone 5 without a separate internet connection and wifi router.

I need to be able to control iTunes within my MacBook Pro remotely. Using my mobile broadband service and wireless router I've been able to get the Remote app to allow my iPhone 5 to do the job nicely through Home Share. So I went and bought a separate WiFi router and tried to do the same thing. Of course when it didn't work, I discovered that I need an internet connection and WiFi network to make the Home Sharing work.
So I got to thinking, can I create a WiFi hotspot using the Personal HotSpot functionality of my iPhone, set up Home Sharing on phone and MacBookPro and then use the Remote app. Ideally this would work as it seems all the key components are in place.
The MacBook Pro accepts the iPhone hotspot as a means of Home Sharing, however the iPhone won't use the personal hotspot to Home Share and I can't connect to the iPhone personal hotspot on the iPhone itself.
Does anyone know how to make this work for me? It would be such as neat solution if I can get it to work - not to mention the potential to save me about $200 (I need to set this model up for two people).

KDE apps don't think I have an internet connection

I am running into a strange problem with KDE. I initially made a thread about how after some updates kopete's initial status wasn't working, when I started it it would set its status to "offline" no matter what. I ended up guessing it was some sort of problem with kopete.
But today I've been trying to use kget, and it absolutely refuses to download anything. As soon as I start it it says "no internet connection, stopping transfers". I think both these apps rely on networkmanager to get their connection status.
I am definitely connected to my wireless via networkmanager... Is there anything I am missing here, why do these apps think I'm offline? I have networkmanager, and the networkmanager plasma applet. Its a WPA2 network set to connect automatically. I also tried setting it as the "system connection" in the preferences but it didn't change anything.

Well, managed to fix it by trying random shit from the networkmanager wiki page. Just making it the system connection didn't help, but doing this in additon to it made everything work:

Only specific OS freezes on certain internet connections

Everyone - I know this question has been posted by a few others but the fix is specific to a users computer. My issue is happening on more than one mac. So here is the deal:
I work for the local ISP. We have a large wifi network where customers can connect to and get a login screen where they have to enter their information (standard hotspot scenario).
We also have an adsl network which all works on dhcp. The customer receives an adsl wireless modem configured as a router. We have multiple model modems.
Windows OS connects to both networks fine without a problem. Linux OS connects to both networks without a problem as well.
The newer Mac OS 10.7 connects to both networks fine as well however 10.5 as well as 10.6 is having issues connecting to both networks. Whenever connecting to either network with a mac running 10.5 or 10.6 (have not tried previous versions) any mac running this version freezes (colorful ball keeps turning). The only way to get out of this is to hold the power button and shut down. If I turn off the airport so that the mac does not connect to any internet connection it is fine. It freezes on both ethernet and airport connection. Again this does not happen to a specific computer but yet to multiple clients. More and more arising each day. At the moment I have 5 different clients with the same problem.
The one thing I have noticed from troubleshooting is that on our older version modem this does not happen. I am not sure what the difference is in the config of the old and new model modem though as they are both configured the same, only difference being that the wireless security is wpa2 instead of wep however this should not matter as the freezing still happens when using the ethernet connection. I stil have some more testing to do with the modem but this still does not explain why the same is happening on the wifi network. Wifi network is open and authentication is done by a radius server. IP is all dhcp.
Each network wifi and adsl is also on a seperate vlan. Only thing they have in common are the dns servers.
Hope someone can help out with this one. Thanks and let me know if there is additional info required. I will continue to troubleshoot and note my results. Thanks again for any help.

Ok, question. Setting the ipv6 to off & turning airport off worked; however, when I turned airport back on it did the freezing thing again. I had to power down my Mac & turn airport off again to get it to work right again. Is there a way to stop the freezing with airport on?
I would like to give a big thank you as we were driving ourselves crazy over here for 3 weeks trying to figure out what was wrong. i had to carry my iMac through the mall to the Apple store, which got heavy I must say, just for them to then hook it up & whammo, it works with no problems. I was all happy thinking I had my Mac back, get home, plug it in, & nada. I could have screamed. Hubby is a windows kinda guy & Macs are foreign to him, but he still drove himself crazy trying to figure this out. Phone/internet company had no clue. The computer repair guy around the corner wanted over $100 just to come out. In the end it was two simple steps. Are you freakin kidding me? Hubby is going to flip. Very happy I have it back though, at least partially.
