Map for Nokia N8

Hi
I just got me an N8, but I have problems with the map in Ovi
It shows no country, in stead it says
"map and voice files have not been found on the unit" and below that it says
"It might be because of"
" the unit don't support the program Nokia Maps"
"Map and voice files in the unit has been damaged"
Anybody who can help me?

It rather depends whether anyone has been messing around with your N8, you can check in OVI Maps application > Spanner icon > Maps > whether mass memory or memory card are selected as data can be stored in either place. If you choose a WLAN access point for Internet connection in OVI Maps application on N8 you can at least download mapping data for where you are to check it out.
It may however be a better idea to install OVI Maps v3.06 pre-release from Nokia Beta Labs here:
http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/ovi-maps-306 sign in with your Nokia account ID and password to download application as this would allow you to update maps using phones WLAN without need to use OVI Suite on PC.
Probably got you more confused now, so please ask if you have any more questions.

Updating Country maps for Nokia Belle

In the past Nokia Suite announced me, when there were newer mapversions of a country available to download.
It is very long time ago (a year?) that I have received any country update. I'm wondering if this service is still available for Nokia with the OS Belle?
I have a Nokia N8.
PS For a long time Nokia Suite couldn't connect with the Nokia server. With some help on internet I am now able to re-connect with the nokia server....But may be not for updating country maps??

Reinstallation of Nokia Maps for Nokia 5800

I have installed a wrong version of Nokia Maps (it is not for touch screen phone), so it doesn't work corectly.
Can anyone tell me how can I reinstall the application with the correct version, so I can use the application.
On the Nokia Maps website I cannot select the Nokia 5800 to download it.

Middle east maps for nokia 500 auto navigation

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you very much for your support, i would like if somebody can help me in my Device ( nokia 500 auto navigation ) i installed the Maps in my SD Card but once i put the SD card in my Device and checking the Mas its showing me the Maps is Locked ,
i would like to knowhow can i Unlock it .

I fully agree with your assessment. And I don't like to be treated like a monkey.
Nokia is showing such a low respect and care to their customers, especially in the Middle East. They became maybe too big to care for their customers. Apparently they have forgotten that what made them so big is precisely those customers they are ignoring today. It is a pity.
I am looking for a solution for the same problem since 9 month ow: updating middle east maps on my Nokia 500 Auto Navigation. thout any positive result.
What is making this case looking even worst is the promises I got from my Nokia reseller that maps WILL be updated on a regula basis!!! But till today, total blackout from our friends at Nokia.
And the funny thing : while typing this note, a popup appeared on my screen about Customer Feedback on the qualiity of Nokia support. They are really incredible those guys.

I had download Nokia Maps 3.0 from nokia website & tried to install it through Nokia suite (existing is 2.0). But, suddenly my phone show message "Unable install. Component is built-in". But, I had download the software from below website.

Updating maps for nokia drive

How do I check to see if there are updates to the maps I have downloaded on my Lumia 800? I'm sure I read somewhere that Nokia will update maps 4 times a year.
I have had uk maps downloaded for 18 months and have not seen any notification of maps updates. I can't find any option within Drive to check for updates either.
Can someone let me know how I get the updated maps please.

Whilst Windows Phone 8 devices have this facility, I can't remember whether ever a feature of 7.8 unfortunately; you could always delete current mapping and start again.

Use offline maps for Nokia Drive

Go to
Nokia Drive > Settings > Manage Maps
Add your favourite maps & use them offline in future to save your data connection & battery.

Maps and Drive on my Lumia 920 can now be fully used in Offline mode. You can search for addresses and use turn by turn navigation without the need for an internet connection.

I recently downloaded Google Maps on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. However, when I start the application on my phone, the connections fails to connect to the server. Has anyone faced this problem, or does anyone of you have any solution to this?

Hi, try Options -> Tools -> Connections and select a working connection. It needs at least a data connection to download maps from Google unlike Nokia maps where the maps can be downloaded in advance.
I find that the maps are more detailed in Google compared to Nokia maps though and is more 'eye friendly'.

My Nokia 5233 does not have in-built GPS. So I guess using maps would require network connection & charges.
Can I download free Nokia maps on my pc & then use them in my mobile while keeping it in offline mode?

Unless you purchase a Bluetooth GPS receiver, you would have to utilize a network connection unfortunately and even with this mode positioning accuracy would be too variable to navigate by.

Most cities are very incomplete at Nokia Maps
As I could read at forums and confirm using Nokia Maps at a 6790, only work fine for Buenos Aires, while the direct rival (Garmin XT) has all roads and even several waypoints.
At my case, San Juan, Argentina, Nokia Maps only has a highway (and say A01 instead A014), and some routes

Menu map for 6070

Hi.
I'm looking for the Manu map for Nokia 6070
My problem is that the display of the phone is broken, It doesn't show anything, but otherwise the phone works well, I can call, or recieve calls.
Before I take it to repair, I would like to connect to my notebook to synchronize data. The only way I could do it is to activate Infrared, but for this I need the menu map.

I have a similar problem -
I have a new 7360 - in hong kong. The guy in the shop showed my wife that it has english language installed. Then when we take the battery out to insert the SIM card it defaults back to Traditional Chinese.
and nowhere - but nowhere - (Google, MSN, Nokia.com) is there a simple instruction "press menu 1,2,3 to change the language to XXX".
Looking on the forums there are other people with the same issue - Arabic/English , Malay/Indonesion etc
I mean really - you sell millions of phones with multiple language support so this problem must come up and **bleep** your customers off hundreds of times daily.
Think about it - the reason people want to change a language is because they cant read the one that the phone is displaying! So putting "Press menu, then settings, then language" is useless because we cant read the phone display and the menu selection varies from model to model.
Please - if anyone with access to an english language 7360 reads this - can you send the menu selection to change language to flippertie [at] yahoo [dot] com.
