Map ID Assignment

I just upgraded to RH HTML 6 and I'm in the process of
assigning Map IDs. What a pain! First of all, the help topics about
these tasks are clunky. One topic tells you how to set up map
files, the next how to set up map IDs, the next how to assign map
IDs. So from a usability perspective, I've just been told three
times to go to the Project tab, expand the Context Sensitive
folder, expand the Map Files folder, etc. There should be just one
topic called "Mapping Topics to Object IDs" and it should start
with a nice workflow tutorial (made in Adobe Captivate) about how
this really goes ... if your objective is to associate a topic with
an object in the software you are documenting, then you should see
a diagram that illustrates that you first have to make these "map
file" things, then you have to associate them with your topics, and
then, finally, you have to associate each map file with an object
using its numeric code. Lastly, it would be really great to see a
section in the help about different ways to find out what the
object IDs are ... not every company is capable of outputting a
handy report of every object ID, so there are nice freeware apps,
like WinSpy, that allow you to simply mouse-over a windows object
to get info about it, including its ID, function calls, etc.
Second of all, the screens for working with Map IDs are very
confusing.
The New Map File window does nothing to put the activity in
context. Its just a blank entry field. It should have a blurb like
"Enter a unique name for this map file". The OK button should be a
Save button so the user knows that file will be added to the
project under the Map Files tab.
On the Edit Map IDs window, there are a couple of things that
need improvement:
The Map File field contains an option called "<Project Map
File>" and its not obvious what this is. I am guessing its where
I associate the entire project with an object?
The mini-buttons plainly suck (its hard to tell what they are
going to do from looking at them) and need to at least have
mouse-over hints pop up. The one next to the Map File field should
look like the "New" button you see in Windows Explore for New File
or maybe the button you use for New Topics in RN.
The whole screen should illustrate the process of building
map files, matching them to topics, and then associating them with
object IDs. Tabs in a left-to-right design or a rearrangement of
the regions might help with this.
The Assign button only becomes available if you've created a
cadre of map files first and you have not yet assigned them to any
topics. If you click the Auto-Map button, then you can assign an
object ID to your map file. This screen needs to be redesigned such
that it is very clear.

  • How to display only images that do not have a map location assigned

I just upgraded to PSE 11.  So far so good.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit, SP1.
I'd like to find out how to search for all of my photos that do not have a map location assigned to them.
Is there a way to do this?  It may be built in, but so far I have not been able to figure it out.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I think that if you select the Places view, the images shown are the ones that you have already placed. If you then click on Add Places (at the bottom) the filmstrip across the top shows the images that haven't been placed.
If you then place one of those images, a small icon appears in the filmstrip until you next close that window (click on Done).
    Hope that helps

  • Mapping Issue:Assign src field val to target when src field not exists

    Hi
Pls guide though the following issue in Message Mapping
I do have a segment of 0...n. where the target element is manipulated based on the three fields in source segment.
    <Source>
    Parent Segment (1..1)
         Segment     (0...n)
              Field_1  =  23k
              Field_2  =      01
Field_3  =  (either 'X' or No field in IDOC segment)
    <Target>
    Segment (1...1)
         t_Field  =  ( if ( ( Field_1 = '23K') & (Field_2 = '01'))  then  assign Field_3  )
How can i check or handle this Field_3 issue when its not present in IDOC segment?
Note: I am using UDF, and getting errors while retrieving Field_3 data when the field itself is not present in segment inside loop statement.
    Thanks,
    Vinod V

    Thanks Mickael for the reply,
I have tried the same, and its working fine with the Display Queue. But giving following error while performing the Transformation Test.
I found that in loop Field_3 returns value at first index only. It does not increment.
Field_3's context is set to Parent Context.
    Please help with inputs.

  • Map screen: assign the same GPS location to a "sparse" group of pictures

Let's say a have a buch of photos that have beeen taken at the same spot at different times. The pictures are scattered across the fimstrip and might even belong to different collections in the same catalog (or even different catalogs?). What is the best way to assign the same GPS coordinates to all these pictures using Map screen?
Of course, the direct way to do that is to carefully select all these photos in the filmstrip and then click the desired location on the map. This is problematic for more reasons than one. Firstly, it is difficult to scroll through the entire strip and pick out the pictures one by one. Secondly, if I acccidentally miss one or two pictures, I have to start all over again.
The better way would be some sort of copy-paste appproach: copy the desired location into the clipboard (from another image or straight from the map) and then paste it over the desired images one by one or, better, over groups of images. One feature that at first looks promising in this regard is the text entry field on the right that contains the GPS coordinates in text form. It is editable, meaning that I can copy the coordinates (in text form) from one image and paste it into the same field of another image. However, this unfortunately does not guarantee that the images will end up with identical locations: the image that received new coordinates might (and will) end up with a slightly different location on the map that the "donor" image. This means that the coordinates are stored internally with better precision than their representation in that text entry field.
So, what are the other options?

You could also do this copying of GPS location to whatever photos you want using non-Lightroom (freeware) tools such as GeoSetter or ExifTool. This makes the issue of precision go away, and of course those tools can copy the GPS location to any photo you have, regardless of what Lightroom catalog it is in.
So, you'd have to use LR to write the metadata to the photos, then use non-Lightroom tools to copy the GPS location, then back in Lightroom read the metadata.

  • How to see the mapping functions assigned...

Consider someone has done the mapping with some userdefined functions and some node functions,etc...
now...i want to see the mapping used...i mean what is the userdefined function used ..or what is the node function used.....how to check that....I even cheked the depencies option..but it shows only arrowmark to the target field...
Can someone help me in that.....

Hi, First of all, you should get the name of function used in Message Mapping.
If the function name is among the standard function (you can check all the catagory of the standard function by choose value from drop down list of bottom of the data flow editor)
then your function used is standard function, eg. node funtions include "exist" "RemoveContext" etc...
Otherwise the function used must be user define function, from the same drop down list I mentioned above, you can choose "User Defined Function", then you will see the user defined functions used by current message mapping.
    Hope this clear your doubt.

  • Erratic drive mapping - Vlan assignment

    Hello all,
We are having issues with inconsistent drive mapping after vlan change. The client computers (running Windows 7) first authenticate against our NPS server (using mac authentication bypass), and are then placed in vlan 10. After the users log in, they are
placed into a different vlan based on user's AD group membership. The actual vlan switch works fine, and the users always end up in the right vlan. The drives, however, aren't always there. The user's home drive is mapped via the Home Folder in the users'
properties in AD, and the rest of the drives (staff data, etc.) are mapped via a log on script. Drives mapped via GP are almost always mapped, but drives mapped via AD properties are missing much more often. All of the drives can be manually accessed from
all of the vlans. There are no errors on the NPS side, and the only errors I can see in the event viewer are DHCPNack messages (The IP address lease 10.42.13.xx for the Network Card with network address 0x has been denied by the DHCP server 10.42.10.xx). Does
anyone have any advice or a possible solution? Any info would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
When an interface changes VLANs, line protocol goes down for a moment then comes back up again. It is similar to physically disconnecting the interface for a very short time. Your problem might be caused by the interface being down for this short period
of time, because this is when the home drives are being mapped, but I'm not sure.
If the GP mappings are almost always working, why not do everything there and dispense with the home drive mapping?
You can also try setting Computer Configuration ->
Administrative Templates -> System ->  Logon -> Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon to
Enabled and see if this helps.

  • Which interface does "crypto map vpn" get assigned to?

I'm setting up a site to site vpn and have been reading some examples, but my 871 uses a vlan so it confuses me a bit. Do I assign the statement crypto map vpn to the vlan1 interface or fe4 which is my WAN side.

    Sander
If we knew more about your environment we might be able to give better answers. In general the crypto map is assigned to the outbound layer 3 interface. But I can not tell from your description whether fe4 or VLAN 1 is the outbound layer 3 interface. Does fe4 have an IP configured on it? If so then perhaps it is the outbound layer 3 interface and gets the crypto map. Or perhaps VLAN 1 is the outbound layer 3 interface and gets the crypto map.
If this helps you figure it out that is good. Otherwise perhaps you can provide some clarification of the environment.

  • Not able to assign map in Syndicator

    Hi all,
I am using Syndication Server of MDM 5.5 SP05 Patch 2 to create an export from my MDM repository into a flat file.
My plan is to define a map and assign it to a repository port for scheduled output.
But I am confused on how to create the map and assign it to the port. Did anyone do that before?
Could you give a step-by-step guide describing a simple case?
Here you can see what I did (severel times) until now:
    1. created a system for the repository in the MDM Console (named "System 1")
    2. created a port for the repository in the MDM Console (named "Port 1")
Type of port is "Outbound", System is "System 1". Map is empty.
    3. in the Syndicator created a map and saw the result on "Destination preview" tab
On the Map Properties Map the Output Remote System is set to "System 1"
    4. Saved the map via "File > SaveAs" and named it "Map 1"
    5. tried "File > Destination Properties" to set
       Type=Port
       Remote System=System 1
       Port=Port 1
Error message is "Could not load selected map"
    6. tried to save map as "Map 2" and repeated but same error message
    7. Back in the MDM Console at the Port no map is selectable as it seems no map is assigned to the port.
I know the documentation "MDM Syndicator Reference Guide 5.5 SP5 July 26, 2007" from SMP and studied it closely.
    In the documentation it says:
"To select a remote system, choose from the Remote System drop-down
list in the New Map dialog, shown in Figure 94."
But I can not find the "New Map" dialog. There is no "New" menu item.
    It also says:
"The File > Save As command saves to a new map. Use the
File > Save command to save to the current map if it has already been
    opened or saved."
I have not "Save" command in my File menu. Just "Save As"
    Anyone a hint?
    Thanks and best regards
    Ingo

    Hi,
now i am working on 5.5.41.58, i tried your scenario, i could not insert a map in  the port details tab. That may be a bug.
    normally what we do is,
    1. in the syndicator you create a map
go to file --> save as --> map 1.    map saved.
    2. go to file --> open the map --> export --> save to local system.
    3. in the console for that particular repository;
Admin --> Portstable --> click on already created outbound port, in the port details we have to assign the map,
but in this it is not allowing,
    hope this may help you

  • Sharing the same account mapping in 2 different locations

I am using FDM (version 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.1).
    Hi Expert,
I would like to ask about sharing the same mapping in multiple locations. Currently, I have 3 (or more later) locations in FDM. I have a set of account mapping which I would like to maintain it as a master copy and apply this account mapping to all 3 of my locations in FDM. I figured that I need to upload the account mapping everytime switching between locations.
I know that for logic group, I can assign the same logic group to multiple locations by updating the properties in "Locations" under "MetaData".
Is it possible to do the same thing for account mapping? e.g. upload only 1 set of account mapping and assign multiple location to it?
    Thank you!

Choose one of the locations and assign it as the Parent location for the other 2 locations on the Locations metadata screen. These locations will then share the mapping of the parent location and you only need to maintain the mappings in the parent location.

  • ELM - Duplicate Check, Mapping Format, Create BP in Role

    Hi,
I have 3 requirements with respect to ELM (CRM 7.0 Ehp1)
    1. Update CRM BP, if external ID/ID type combination occurs again
    2. Create BP in a specific role
    3. Map extra fields
With the help of multiple threads, I have found that I need to use BAdI CRM_MKTLIST_BADI and enhance methods DUPLICATE_CHECK, CREATE_PERSON etc.  Create new mapping format, Append structure CRMT_MKTLIST_PER_EXT with required fields.
    I have the following questions:
    1. How do I create a new mapping format?
    2. What/how to enhance the method DUPLICATE_CHECK of CRM_MKTLIST_BADI to check for duplicates based on external ID number and ID Type?
    3. For creating BP in a certain role, is the note 915015 applicable for CRM 7.0?
I would appreciate if anyone can offer quick help in this regard.
    Thanks and regards,
    Anshika

    Hi,
You can new mapping format from webui.
You have to log in with  a MARKETINGPRO role. To create mapping format, assign business role MARKETINGPRO to your user and go to "Marketing" work center.
In the "Create" area you will find "Mapping format".
CRM_MKTLIST_BADI has a default implementation class you can create a new implementation but you can copy the standard implementation class for your implementation class.
And change the code in method in DUPLICATE_CHECK. the external ID number and ID Type should come via the importing parameters inside the method then you can check with them. But other wise you need to find some other provision of getting them inside.
    Thanks,
    Rajini Aleti.

  • How do I update linked FM files without losing TOC entries or Map IDs?

    Hi,
I'm using RH 10 with linked FM 11 files to create a WebHelp project and this is what happens when I do an update or force update of a linked file in the RH project:
After the update, the topic that contains updated content gets deleted from project TOC in RH.
After the update, any Map IDs assigned to the topic that contains the updated content are deleted.
Can someone please advise how to update a linked file without losing TOC entries or Map IDs?
    Thanks a bunch!
    Gabe

    HI Gabe,
You will want to link the TOC from FM in your conversion settings, and set the map id's via TopicAlias markers in FM.

call up the RoboHelp for Word Help file and look up "Map IDs" in

interface. The service interface ReceiverDetermination is in the Enterprise Services Repository in the software component SAP
    BASIS (namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System).
You will notice the same behavior when you try to select the Operation Mapping in Extended RD....click on the input help....pop-window will appear....what are the source and target SI that you see?

  • ADF Map Viewer Themes Rendering Problem

    Hi,
Im presently working on ADF Map Viewer. Im facing the below mentioned issue. Can any one has come across this???
Im building the Themes using Map Builder.
I have 3 thems, which i combined together & created as a Base Map using Map Builder.
While adding the themes, i also set the theme mode as "Mapviewer_native". The themes are Area Theme, Region Theme & Building Block Theme.
For the first theme, i did not specify any minimum scale & maximum scale to make sure that this theme needs to be rendered initially.
For the second theme, which supposed to be rendered after doing certain zoom in...for this theme i have set the Max & Min scale as Max 3 || Min 8.
For the third theme i have added the range from 3 to 0.
Im able to test this fine with Map Builder...On making zoom in at certain levels the second theme is getting rendered..and after doing some more zoom in the third theme is getting rendered.
Till this everything fine... Here the problem came....
I used <dvt:map component & assigned the above created Map as Base Map... But here im not able to see the second theme...Initially its showing the Area Map & On selecting the Zoom In ...its directly going to theme 3.
Can you please suggest me some thing by using i can get this second theme as well....
Looking forward to hear from you
