  • Problem with maps in Mavericks on iMac

I have a problem with my Maps on Mavericks.
I can open it just fine, no crash or whatever but the map itself just won't load, whatever mode it is on. Here is the screenshot of my Maps:
As you can see, it just stays blank all the time.
I'm  also running Parallels 9 and don't know if that has something to do with problem.

Spent days trying various fixes, but this is the one that did it for me. Thanks!

    Try this
Since my date and time were incorrect and imessage was not working as well, I tried this
    1. Go to system preferences and click date and time
    2. Select date and time tab
    3. Uncheck "set date and time automatically" and manually enter the correct time
    4. Go to time zone tab and uncheck the box there too
    5. Go back to date and time tab and now check the box "set date and time automatically"
    6. Then check the box in time zone as well
Now open maps and see if it works!

  • Old iPhone showing up in Share Sheet in Maps on Mavericks

Hoping someone can help me here?
I installed MAvericks and on the share sheet i have 3 devices showing for SEND TO IPHONE, SEND TO IPAD and SEND TO IPHONE 5S, the problem is only the iPad and iPhone 5S are valid devices.  The iPhone device was an old iphone that has had Find My iPhone deactivated on the device and all content erased throught the settings menu on the device as per Apple's instructions on best practice for wiping phones. Thus the old phone is factory reset and has no data or sim in it.
Whats more weird is that this old iPhone device does not show up in the Find my iPhone iOS app or Web app.
I've tried logigng in and out of icloud on the mac in settings but nothing works, any advice ???

Same issue here. I've bought a new iphone 5s, and a new ipad Air, replacing older models. I sold both old devices through Gazelle. Both old devices were running ios 7, and I made sure to turn off "find my iphone" on both and erase all content and settings before selling them. Neither old device is anymore in anyway associated with my AppleID. But both continue to show up on the share sheet in Maps on Mavericks. I've tried everything.
It's not the worst thing ever, since the new devices are both there also, and sharing from Mavericks works to both new devices. Still - bugs me that the old ones are there! It's not possible that if I send a location to one of those old devices, it actually gets there, right? Nah...
Well, if anyone figures it out, it's much appreciated!

  • Problem with Maps in Mavericks on Macbook pro

I just installed OS X 10.9 Mavericks on my Macbook pro 2010 mid model. Install processes were good with no problem.
After Install, I opend Maps application. I found my Map is not load whole map image. like this picture.
Can any one help me from this terrible situation?
    Spec :
    2010-Mid MBP 15''
    2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
    8GB RAM
    500GB 5400RPM HDD

    Fixed, for me.
Just changed the language order in preferences language & region.
Seems like maps has bad behaivor with some languages.
Maps was not ready for the world.

  • Maps on mavericks blank

Having updated my Macbook Pro Retina to Mavericks, I find that the new Maps app is blank and not loading the maps, in either standard, hybrid or Satellite view.
Various other users have reported changing the Language order solves this, but I only have one language (English) that is set. Others suggested it worked in full screen mode and/or after a reboot, but I have tried this too and this has no effect.
Has anyone else had this issue or found any other resolution to the problem?

This problem had been plaguing me for months, and none of the suggestions I tried online helped. I finally tried looking in the console, and found lots of lines like this:
9/3/14 10:58:57.512 xpcd[206]: com.apple.geod[733]: registration request failed: (0x11, 0x0) Could not obtain real path to the container root (~/Library/Containers/com.apple.geod/Data): The operation couldn’t be completed. No such file or directory
    9/3/14 10:58:57.703 com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.geod[733]) Job appears to have crashed: Illegal instruction: 4
    9/3/14 10:58:57.703 com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.geod) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I tried rm -r ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.geod and then re-launched Maps, and much to my delight, I was finally seeing actual maps!
The console showed my map tiles being recreated, and fixing permissions on the com.apple.Maps container (which directory I had earlier tried deleting, based on other online suggestions):
9/3/14 11:03:34.284 com.apple.geod[800]: /SourceCache/GeoServices/GeoServices-702.15.12/GEOTileDBWriter.mm:203 recreating tile database because manifest URL changed
    9/3/14 11:03:34.284 com.apple.geod[800]: /SourceCache/GeoServices/GeoServices-702.15.12/GEOTileDBWriter.mm:406 Recreating tile database
    9/3/14 11:03:50.311 xpcd[206]: restored permissions (100600 -> 100700) on /Users/jim/Library/Containers/com.apple.Maps/Container.plist
It seems that removing both of those got rid of whatever corruption had been causing this long-standing problem. I hope this might help someone else.

  • Sending direction from Maps on Mavericks to iOS devices

I am trying to use the new maps app on Mavericks to send directions to my iphone, but none of my iOS devices show up as devices I can send to - what am I doing wrong?

I still can not 'send directions to iPhone' from 10.9 Maps.
I have tried all fixes from what I gathered online:
    Restart Mac
    Reboot iPhone
Sign out of iCloud on both Mac and iPhone and signing back in
I have also used patience and colourful language all to no avail
(iCloud account is the same for the Mac as is the iPhone)
    I am using an iPhone 5 and a 2011 iMac 3.1ghz Intel i5

  • Is there a way to add a via point to a route in Maps?

With the addition of Maps to Maverick is there a way to add a via point to a route between 2 points
I might like to take a scenic highway for part of the trip or stop at a particular restaurant
    I don't see a way

I was looking for this function to, but don't see it.  Looks like the Maps functions is a little thin right now.  Hopefully it will be expanding in the future.....hopefully near future.

  • How to see all suggested routes in Maps

I'm using Maps in Mavericks.  It shows "1 of 3 suggested routes" but I'd like to be able to look at the other 2 suggested routes. Is there any way I can do that?

    Hey Larry Sochrin1,
Thanks for the question. The suggested routes are all shown on the main map in the application. For example, if you have directions that have 3 suggested routes, you should see three separate blue lines (one of which will be highlighted as the current route, the other two will be a lighter shade of blue). You can toggle between the suggested routes by clicking on the blue line of a different route.
While it may be hard to see in this image (click image to view larger), the following example shows the three blue lines I am referring to (signifying the three separate routes):
via Apple - OS X Mavericks - New apps, new features, new technologies.

  • Maps - picks up my old address as current location

Opened maps in Mavericks for the first time and it asked me if it could use my current loaction which I agreed to. It shows my current location as my previous address which I left about a month ago. I'm not sure where it is picking this up from. I checked contacts and my home address was reflecting the new one. I clicked on "show map" with the contacts application and it went to my new address. Any ideas? Thanks

    Try this:
    * Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “OFF”
    * Locate yourself using the iPhone 3G’s GPS receiver in the maps app.
    * Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “ON”

  • Maps are a snafu

I suspect other problems but one real obvious to me.  American Red Cross is not at 2 N Minnesota St. New Ulm, MN.   My retail bookstore however is and has been for almost 5 years.
Another downtown New Ulm, MN business has not been at the location listed for at least 2 years.
Just how current of a database did Apple use?  Perhaps they asked SIRI which is at least as dumb as a box of Rocks.
I will continue to use Google Maps which has more info and more reliable info.

Maps on Mavericks and OS X use the same database.  If it has errors, you can always report them which helps.

  • Maps send to iPad

How can i remove the send to iPad in Maps on Mavericks? I sold my iPad, not planning on getting a new one anytime soon. I did take it out of Find my Phone in my iCloud account. I am only sending routes to my iPhone. Is this entry by default or how can it be removed?

Maps sharing works without Find My iPad turned on. Removing the iCloud account on the iPad takes it off the Mac Maps sharing button.
Did you do an Erase all Content and Settings (in Settings > General > Reset) or delete your iCloud account from the iPad before it was sold?

  • Mac Mini Late 2014 crashing nightly

Several nights now my new mac mini (Late 2014), 10.10 has crashed and shutdown. It cold boots with power button press. Logs show it might be trouble with sleep, but posting this since long thread on these troubles with Yosemite is for Mac Mini 2012.
Just got the machine on Friday. Used migration assistant to load settings and maps from Mavericks lap top. Crashed on both tries, but did set up an account. None of my user files transferred, did that manually. Hoping not to do a fresh install, but need to know if settings from Mavericks could cause a problem.

If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
