MAP KEYFIGURES

Hi,
Do we map key figures in account based profitability analysis. If we do which ones? What are 0ACCOUNT, 0AMOUNT and 0BALANCE for? Does 0ACCOUNT bring in all the elements from the char of accounts into BI?

Hi Tee,
0ACCOUNT in BI is the primitive version of GL account, meaning just simple account information such as Chart of Account, it will bring you all chart of account into BI.
0AMOUNT is key figure, usually associated with cost center amount but can be used by other areas for displaying amount, such as purchasing amount, etc.
0BALANCE is cumulative balance, meaning this key figure will be used when the key figure requires balance carry forward from previous fiscal year.

Hi,
I am not very sure about the 9ARE aggregate (haven't used it in backups), but RTSCUBE is used to copy time Series (TS) KF data from cube to planning area (SNP or DP).
Are you trying to restore some time series data from your backup cube to the planning area? If yes, then do a mapping of characteristic from cube to planning area in RTSCUBE, and also map the TS KF between cube and planning area.
If your KF is not a time series KF, then you can't copy it from cube to planning area. You could get data to cube for some reporting, otherwise I am not sure what use the backup is for you. For SNP, most of the data would be received from R/3, so there's not much point in having a backup.

Getting mid 50% in a query

In a query, I need to retrict a characteristic to the middle 50% values. That is, I should exclude the top 25% and bottom 25% values. How can I do this?

My idea is just a small change in what others proposed
If you have hold on update rules,you can write a routine mapping keyfigure ( create new and add in cube for employees) and map this charecteristics coming from the source
Reload the cube/Init without data transfer and create conditions for the keyfigure for exclusion of top and bottom 25% to get median values

Keyfigure mapping with characteristic

Hi,
I have a requirement like below.
I have a Purchasing ODS in which creation date and release date is available as characteristic. Now I want this 2 characersitics as Keyfigures in masterdata in one object. Is it possible to map a characteristic of ODS with a keyfigure which is an attribute of masterdata..?

Kalyan,
Go to transfer/update rules.
Go to the Key Figure that you want to update.
Select update/transformation type as formula.
In the formula, enter only the characteristic name. It will automatically assign the characteristic value to the the Key Figure..

Keyfigure mapping

Hi ,
I am loading the flat file data in BPC MS 7 version .
File format is : GL account , Cost center , Amount1 , amount2
I created new dimension and maintained keyfigure1 and keyfigure2 as members and loaded data successfully .
Now my records are :
1 . GL account , cost center , amount1
2. GL account , cost center , amount2
So , due to above approach every flat file record produce 2 records in BPC and one more new dimension for key figures .
Please conform above approach is correct as performance point of view . Let me know any other approach .

Mapping Quantity keyfigure in BI 7- Flat file datasource

Hi Guys,
I have a problem in creating transformations for Quantity key figure for flat file datasource. In my csv file quantity is just a number. i created a datasource and Infopackage and loaded data into PSA without any problem.
In cube i have quantity key figure of QUAN type with 0UNIT unit of measure. So when I try to map Quantity in datasource with quantity InfoObject, 0UNIT is empty. So I am unable to activate transformations.
Can somebody suggest me how to proceed with htis problem? Should I define Quantity key figure as just number?

Hi Sneralla,
you can take one more field on you flatfile.. as units(ex: KG or CM.. like that) beside of the quanity filed.. and now load it into PSA and now create transformations... and now map this units filed to newly added field...
you can try this option.. becasue.. when you are loading Quantity field data from flat file means we need to mention the units also..

How to map same sales unit for two keyfigures

i am using two key figure with reference of one sales unit(0SALESUNIT) but in update rules i am getting only one key figure the other key figure is not showing in update rules.
i want to use the same sales unit for two different key figure.

Hi Ankit,
if you have 2 key figures that are not defined as a reference of another key figure, but just use 0SALES_UNIT as their unit, you should have no problems with the update rules. The system will show both key figures in the update rule (or transformation).
Also then the logic you map for 0SALES_UNIT will apply to both key figures in a transformation. For an update rule the same applies, unless you map the 2 key figures differently on purpose.
I am not sure if your question was saying that you have defined a key figure as a reference to another key figure. If you have that situation, you should still be fine. If not try the approach above, after all there is not much benefit in creating a reference key figure in contract to creating a reference Characteristic (sharing master data, etc.)

Few keyfigures are not getting updated in the backup cube

Hi,
We run the daily backup process chain which extract data from planning
area and store in the cube & ods.
There are infopackages which update cube & ods, the datasource & info
source is same for both ODS & backup cube.
But a few keyfigures do not get updated in backup cube where as we see
ODS getting updated for those keyfigures. Also there exist data in the
planning area for these keyfigures.
There is direct mapping between the keyfigures in cube & planning area.
We tried to debug it and noticed that data gets updated in update routine table but not get updated in cube.
There are total 25 keyfigures in the cube , out of this only 5 keyfigures are not getting updated.
Need expert opinion on this.

Hi Chetana,
Check the backup step in your process chain. The Data Selection tab may have certain conditions on account of which certain keyfigures in your Backup Cube are not getting updated.
Check if any ABAP routine or any selection conditions are maintained which are causing certain keyfigs to be excluded.

How to map new field in DSO

I have added a new field to the dso and i have replicated the datasource as well which is showing the new field newly added in ecc. how can i map the new keyfigure in the transformation between the datasource and ods. its showin in the ds, can u pls tell me how to map now.

Ya but the problem is I have an infosource in between and its not showing in the transformation between the dso and infosource.....nor the infosource and the datasource. But its there in the first transformation on the dso side, not on the inforsource side..... but how to get that field in the infosource side...so that i can map the field between both the transformations....between infosoucre and dso and infosouce and ds.....You know what I mean. the zfield is showin in the dso field structure in the first level mapping between dso and infosouce....but where do i map it.

Getting syntax error while executing keyfigure routine BI 7.0

Hello,
I am writing a very simple keyfigure routine to calculate sales revune using sales quantity and sales price, I am getting error as follows
- I am in 'Rules Details' screen and I have selected 'Routine' as the rule type. I enter the following code in routine
     RESULT = SOURCE_FIELDS_RULE-/BIC/IO_VB_QU *
     SOURCE_FIELDS_RULE-/BIC/IO_VB_PRC .
- I hit the check button on the routine page, it says no syntax errors
- Now I am back in the 'Rules Details' page and I hit the 'Check' button it gives me the following error
Rule(target IO_VB_REV, group: Standard Group): Syntax error in routine
Please tell me what is wrong. what should i check

Here are the details
- I am loading data from flatfile to an Infocube with 3 keyfigures: IO_VB_PRC (Sales Price) , IO_VB_QU (Sales Quantity), IO_VB_REV (Sales Revune). Getting values for IO_VB_QU and IO_Vb_PRC from flatfile and calculating for IO_VB_REV using routine
- I created Transformations, and under Rule Group: Standard Group box I see 'X' sign against 'IO_VB_REV' field, meaning not mapped to any datasource field
- In rules detail screen, I add two source fields of Rule , IO_VB_QU and IO_VB_PRC. I see IO_VB_REV already added under 'Target fields of Rule' section
- I then add the only following line to routine
RESULT = SOURCE_FIELDS_RULE-/BIC/IO_VB_QU *    SOURCE_FIELDS_RULE-/BIC/IO_VB_PRC .
Clicking on check button it gives no syntax error message. I save and exit back to Rule Details page.
- I specify 'USD' as the Conversion Type and then click on check button it initially gives me 'Incorrect Input' written in an information message box and then error that Syntax error in routine

we need to calcule the total vale.
For example total value menas in our case : SR_Co/SR_coff.
we need this calcucation based on the company code.
company code available in multiprovider and cube.
sR_CO available in multiprovider.
SR_coff availble in Cube this loaded throgh IP function.
how to write virtual keyfigure on this case.

Yes i think this can be done using VKF which is similar to CKF but more dynamic as data populates at run time.
Newly created VKF will be added to the cube , but it would nt have any mapping but would derive data at run time using a custome code. Add a new Virtual key figure and write the logic in Either CMOD ZXRSRU02 enhancement or you can try implementig a BADI. Once implemented you can use this in the query in Place of the CKF you were using earlier.

0GR_VAL_PD KF has not mapped with source in 0Pur_C01 but value comes

I have problem with 0GR_VAL_PD kf in 0PUR_C01 cube. 0GR_VAL_PD KF has not mapped with source in 0Pur_C01 but in report level, value is coming for purchase organisation,material group .
But GR value as at posting date (0GR_VAL_PD)value not coming for particular material group or purch. org. but some days before, values were coming for particular material group or purch. org..
so need your help.

Hi Susan
Which datasource you are using at present. Normally 0PUR_C01 gets loaded from 2LIS_02_ITM and 2LIS_02_SCL. The keyfigure that you have mentioned will come from 2LIS_02_SCL with the code that you have written.
The code that you have written should work. Please check if the code is in the transformation from 2LIS_02_SCL.
Share the details on why do you think the solution didn't work.

How to restrict keyfigures in transfer structure?

hi,
i have 10 key figures(fields) in my data source,but i want to restrict 5 keyfigures of these 10kf (2nd,4th,6th,8th,10th kf's which i want restrict).will be displayed rest of 5 keyfigures. condition should be in transfer structure not in updaterules.i am unable to find the way to get

HI Venkat,
As said jayasudha, No need to map the infoobject in the transfer structure. If u r loading the data from R3 then go Extract Structure in rsa6 select ur DS and click on change. In extract structure hide the ur keyfigure.

Mapping of BI Key figures to BPC Amount

Hi All,
I want to know that how do we map the key figures in BI cube to BPC Amount.
I have also gone through Pravin Datar's Blog ( /people/pravin.datar/blog/2009/04/16/loading-transactional-data-from-any-infocube-to-bpc-application-in-bpc7nw
) regarding it but didn't find the solution.
All the key figures are suggested to be mapped to Amount, but it will not work as whole data will come in amount only. So please suggest me
1. how to proceed with the mapping of different key figures in BI to BPC Amount.
2. Also do we have to create a seperate dimension to hold all these key figures.
Please help me in above doubts.

Are you talking about the situation in which multiple key figures are to be mapped to single Signdata in BPC?
if that is the case, there is a possibilty in BI where u can create BI cube with single keyfigure and load the data to it by using rule groups option in BI transformations. fields can be transformed below manner.
BI cube with multiple KFs.

Mapping with source fields

We are having characteristics keyfigures in SAP BW.We have to identify these fields in R/3 i.e. source fields and source tables.But we are unable to match some keyfigures and characteristics in R/3.What approach we have do.Mean if we are unable to find some characteristics and keyfigures in R/3 what we have to do and how to we mapping?what extraction we have to take?what approach we have to do

These reports are coming to Portal via Bw only.
And we dont have access other client (X client) BW systems and they are not giving design document also.They are giving only R/3 sytem copy and we are able to see reports in web based portal.Based on Portal reports we identified Characteristics and Keyfigures.And some characteristics and keyfigures we are mapped with R/3 source fields and Source tables.And these are not standard reports and all are custom report.And there is no use of businee content.Based on these information we have to develop reports from scratch mean from starting i.e. identifying KFs and char's and mapping fields with R/3 here I have doubt we are unable to map some fields with R/3 what we have to do?what approach we have to take.How we identify datasource.what extractor method we have to follow.
Please give ur suggestions.What we have to approach
