Map Live Wallpaper -How do I select Los Angeles?

Ok, I finally figured out that a 2 fingers tap works as a zoom out function; But how in the world do I select the Los Angeles area?
This app is beyond frustrating.

No sarcasm taken. I was just messing around, because that was such an easy fix.
To be specific about the traffic issue; I'm specifically talking about using the Google Map as the Live Map Wallpaper. Or whatever that map is.
I have the function set to display the traffic. However it's not very accurate.
Anyway, Now that I have the map set to Los Angeles, why does the map on the Live Wallpaper only display the city where my billing address is located?
When I traveled approximately 30 miles away, the map doesn't change.
If that's not a function that supposed to occur, then where do I go to change locations?
I'm asking because I spend a lot of time at another residence that is approximately 40 miles away from my billing address.
Thanks for your time. Much appreciated!!!

  • Maps live wallpaper is gorked

Seemingly after the 2.2 update, now my live wallpaper is whacked.  Not that is was incredibly stable before...
Today at work, it shows me being at home.  So I walk outside to get a satellite fix.  No change.  In Manage Applications, I wiped Google Maps data clean.  Went back and selected Live Wallpaper Maps again.  Oh, so now I'm in Tulsa!?  Sorry, that's just a bit down the road from Seattle.
Hmmm.  Went into the Google Maps app and looked at my location, which was correct.  Went to Manage Applications and wiped Maps data clean again.  Cycled phone power.
After restarting, I loaded a different (static) wallpaper. Then loaded Maps Live Wallpaper again.  No change.
This sucks.  Tulsa isn't even on my list of places I want to see before I die.

OK, had a chance to play with it last night.
Something I did not know:  Maps live wallpaper apparently does not use GPS at all.  I noticed in Settings/Location & security that "Use wireless networks" had been de-selected.  I checked the box, went back and loaded my wallpaper again.  Viola!
    One question that lingers though.
Why Tulsa?  Is that Mecca for VerizonWireless?

  • "beaches" live wallpaper - How can I get it back?

Since last update on my Samsung Charge, I lost this wallpaper.  Verizon told me they would check w/Samsung & never called me back.  Anyone know if we can reload this somewhere?

I apologize you did not receive a call back as promised, but I'm here to help.
Where did you purchase the wallpaper? Was it through the Play Store (Android Market)? Have you tried going to the main screen of the Play Store and selecting Menu and then going to My Apps. There you will find the apps previously purchased.
Let me know if this helps or if you were unable to find the wallpaper your looking for and I'll be happy to further assist you.

  • How can I select and delete the fill color (white background) of a live trace (B&W) with in an actio

How can I select and delete the fill color (white background) of a live trace (B&W) with in an action set?
    Illustrator CS4 in windows XP.

Maybe Li[ve trace] is not t]he way[ to go
I have some suggestion one leave it as is and use a blending mode of multiply to give it a color background like this
leave it as is make it a grayscale tiff import int Illustrator and color it it in Illustrator like this
Or trace over it with the brush tool aand then give it a color ground.
Or do the original over and do a cleaner job with no tone or a minimum of tone. Then Live trace.

My HTC One received a software update yesterday, and it wiped out most of the theme and live wallpaper options. How do I get the previous options back?

This was NOT an update, rather a downgrade... the font size in text messages is now smaller and difficult to read. I have tried changing font size in settings and it does not apply to text messages. The lock/unlock screen pattern now reminds me of drawing a stick figure. My vehicle is now having problems with Bluetooth importation of my phone book--I keep receiving an on screen error message as it tries to continuously reattempt to import... And yes, the live weather wallpaper i favored is no longer an option... Why?

  • HT1476 My Iphone 5s does allow my Iphone to use panorama photos to be a live wallpaper, when i want to go set one of my panorama photos to be a live wallpaper it only say "Move and Scales" why is that?

Hi i just recently brought an iphone 5S and i hear about the live wallpaper using panorama photos. I took a panoramic photo on my iphone, and i went to set it as my wallpaper but it says "Move and Scale" shouldnt it say "Wallpaper Review"? why is this happening?

I live in China as well and my iPhone5s is the model A1530 I bougth outside China. I have the same problem as Nikatnight with the iPhone while the iPad Air (wifi only) is working like a charm. It must be definitely something related to the carrier since I was abroad few days ago and everything worked well.
If you pay attention at the source of your maps, you'll discover they are provided by AutoNavi instead of TomTom and make them appear in chinese with their own border interpretation. Queries are only acceppted in Chinese (p.e. if I type in english "Los Angeles International Airport"  it replies it cannot locate it)
I suppose everything will be fine when you'll be out of censorship....
Perhaps iOS  Apple Maps are absolutely useless for expatriate in China.
    Use Google Maps instead
BTW, I'm surprised how much Apple might prostrate towards hard power Governments.... No matter what, money are always on top!

  • KitKat live wallpaper

Is there a way to lock the color to only one on the Live Wallpaper? The colors change all the time when swiping between home screens, and I'd like to set the color(s) manually.

But how to select only one?

  • How do I select a field and between selected rows insert auto-incremented numbers?

I have a spreadsheet in Numbers '09 and I want to number the rows so that I can sort by the original order after I've already sorted by different items. In Excel this is fairly easy, but how do you do this in Numbers? How do I select a series of rows in a column and tell it to automatically insert numbers incremented from one to the total number of rows?
    Thanks,
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
As an alternative to the method Yvan pointed out, you could use a formula.
(NOTE: This takes longer to write than to do.
(CAUTION: Make sure you use Copy/Paste Values to replace the formulas with the calculated numbers before sorting.))
Choose a column in which to place the numbers.
In the first non-header cell in the column enter the formula:
       =ROW()
Select the whole column by clicking its column reference tab.
Then use command-click to deselect the header cells above the one where you placed the formula.
With the cell containing the formula and all of the column below it selected, go:
Insert (menu) > Fill > Fill Down
The formula will be filled into the rest of the column and the numbers calculated.
With the cells still selected, COPY, then go Edit > Paste Values.
This replaces the 'live' formulas with the numbers themselves, and prevents the numbers being recalculated when the rows are sorted.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • How to parse select lines in an html string?

I've been writing a program to deal with demographic data and the first server it calls returns an xml string. However, the backup server returns an html string instead of an xml string, so the formatting is a bit different. I was going to use a regex as I did with the xml server, but regex's don't work that well with html. i was wondering if you could offer some advice on how to effectively parse the html string? It is in this format <html>

The numbers I wanted to extract are the age groups of "Under 5 years," "5 to 9 years," "10 to 14 years," and "15 to 17 years," from both male and female groups, which should add up to 8 numbers total. Here is the backup server portion of my program as well, so you can see what i'm doing.

hmm, is there a way to do it without an external API? Of course there is.
looks like i have to download the API and the idea behind the program is to make it so multiple people running only java can run the program, without having to download APIs, ect, to make it run. Not sure if that is what JTidy entails, but is that what you were suggesting?Personally, I don't understand the resistance to using well-tested tools already in existence as opposed to trying to rewrite a shallow facsimile of said tools. You can distribute the JTidy library along with your application and save yourself a great deal of development and debugging effort.

  • Maps in OVI Suite - can't select multiple items

In Maps Updater you can or could select all the countries & provinces you wanted then start the download and come back later when it had finished. Using Maps in OVI Suite, you have to select and download each item one-by-one. I download a couple of entire countries plus about 8 individual French provinces. It's a real pain to have to keep coming back to see if one item has finished so you can select the next, especially since after each French province finishes the selection always jumps back to 'Albania' and I have to navigate back to France again. Sorry, even if you are on commission from the Albanian tourist authority, I have no plans to visit Albania for the time being!
Seriously though, is it so hard to retain the tick boxes to select all the maps and voices you want before you kick of the downloads, so you don't have to spend an hour watching progress bar and can do something more useful with your time? I just find the functional redesign baffling.
Next time I'll go back to using Maps Updater, and hope this isn't going to be entirely superseded by OVI Suite, at least until it has the multiple-choice tick-boxes!

Ovi is rubbish, all Nokia have done so far is bloat it more and more.
I don't remember how it was when I got my phone originally but I think I could just select the maps I wanted and that was it.
In this latest "update" you have to go in one by one. But my favourite is when Ovi tells you there are updated maps available and asks if you'd like to get them. You say - sure, that's nice, and it goes off and freezes your system for hours.
Several hours later you decide enough is enough and kill the Ovi process and then you find out that it didn't just start updating your maps, it decided you should have maps of the entire world! That's right, even though I only had europe on my phone it installed maps of Australia, New Zealand, North America... ffs!
Then the painful "delete all" since you can't just delete the maps you don't need, and then download them one by one.. Oh joy.
My next phone definitely won't be a Nokia.

  • How can I possible lose my entire photo library/ referenced master image file if I have downloaded all my images directly onto Aperture?

How can I possible lose my entire photo library/ referenced master image file if I have downloaded all my images directly onto Aperture?

CeliaJane, you need to distinguish between the Aperture Library and the Aperture Application.
Aperture stores your images in a database, and it is this database that we have to find and probably to repair, not the application (hopefully). And since you do not see any images, I suspect that Aperture created a new, empty Aperture Library, and you are now viewing this empty library. Usully the library sits in your Pictures fiolder.
Look into your Pictures folder, if you see a file with a colorful icon with three pictures, called something.aplibrary, as shown above. And also enter ".applibrary" into the "Spotlight" searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. If you have more than one Library, you should be able to find them this way.
The largest file you find will probably be the correct library.
When you have found the correct file called aperturexxxx.aplibrary, try to open it in "First Aid" mode.
Select the Library and press down "command" and "option" key at the same time, while you double click the library.
Now the First Aid dialogue should appear:
Select: Repair Permissions" and see if you can open the Library again. If it did not help, try the other two options in turn.
    Regards

  • Nokia E71 - where are maps stored? How to check/ch...

Apologies if my Q is trivial but this seems more difficult than Windows...
Ok, so I downloaded the newest version of Maps (ver. 3.03 I think), it installed on my Nokia 71. Now I go to Nokia OVI on my laptop with phone connected via USB, select "maps", "download", select the map, it shows "preparing...", then "downloading..." then "transferring..." (I guess to my phone). I go to my phone, Menu, GPS, Maps - and where is the map??? It only shows "My Position", "Find Places", "Favourites", "Drive" and "Walk". How do I select the map I just downloaded? Where do I find it?

You've done everything correctly so far updating to most recent version of OVI Maps with free voice navigation for your E71, download regional map but did you also download your chosen "Voice file" for navigation?
A quick way of checking if mapping is there is to open OVI Maps application on device and zoom in to your approximate location when street detail should be visible.
If you expect to see "country map" on memory card it isn't like that, as map tiles are stored in folders 0 - 9 and a - f with similar sub-folders in E:\CITIES\diskcache
