Map Loader 3 doesn't see Internet connection

Hi,
I have installed Map Loader 3 on my XP Pro sp3 workstation that is connected to the Internet via a Workgroup Server running MS SBS 2003 Premium. Whenever I start the Map Loader application it quits immediately with the error message "Connection to the map server has been interrupted. Make sure that your Internet connection is working and retry ...".
The workgroup server exposes a web proxy server (ISA 2004) that my browser uses to connect to the Internet.
What do I need to change/adjust so that Map Loader can also enjoy this otherwise fine connection?
Thank you for considering my problem.

  • Map Loader Bug Re. Lost Internet Connection

Don't really know how to alert the programmers behind the Map Loader software to a fairly major software bug.
If the internet connection is - even very briefly - interrupted for even a second, the Map Loader software gives an error message.
BUT - big problem - the map selection CLEARS so you can't resume from where you left. Nor can you see which maps had successfully downloaded while the connection was active, so you have to download the WHOLE list again.
Please update for the next release.

If you were using MAC filtering on your router, you would know how to fix this.    If you do not know what it is, you do have have MAC filtering enabled on the router -- or you are not the router administrator.   So -- don't worry about MAC filtering or go find the router administrator and ask to be let in (you will need the MAC address of the printer -- get a print out of the network page from the printer).

    Loss of network connection
Ordinarily I would suggest you reinstall the Full Feature Software for the printer because the installation can resolve a variety of ills associated with a disconnected wireless printer.
Install Full Feature Software - Printer
You did say the printer lost Internet connection -- this is a bit different from losing connection from your home network.  You seem to be implying that your printer has lost its ePrint connection without actually saying you have lost ePrint.
The following document can help with both a disconnected wireless printer that is not cooperating -- even after you have tried reinstalling the Full Feature Software, for example -- and the document has a link to the ePrint Help and Tips documents that might help you if the issue is just one of ePrint and an Internet connection having to do with the printer and its connection to that service.

Take a look around at the sections -- you might start at the Troubleshooting steps and see what jumps out at you -- you might find your "issue" is right there and you can find the steps to fix it right away.

  • Map Loader doesn't see my phone

    Hello.
When I connect my N95 to the PC via USB (in PC Suite mode) and start Nokia Maps Loader program, it just keeps popping "Waiting for device"... Obviously it doesn't recognize my device...
    Why?
    Thank you.

Thanks everyone for the tips. There are a few gaps in the advice however for novices like myself. To fill these in :
    1) You must have a microSD card for the maps loader to work, minimum 2Giga (Nokia maps are by continent and heavy files : 1.3G for Europe or America). You may even find that the Mapsloader application says there's not enough space on your 2Giga card, in which case you have to increase the memory allocation within the maps application on your phone - Maploader will tell you where to find this.
    2) The "data transfer" mode everyone talks about is in the message which pops up in the phone when you connect it to a computer with PC Suite installed, not on the computer itself or in the PC Suite application.
    3) You must have the Maps application activated in the phone before you connect to the computer for MapLoader to recognise the phone.
    4) Upload overnight. The connection is slow, a couple of hours for Europe or America.
    Good luck !

  • How do I transfer photos and videos from my iPhone 5 or Mac to an inactive iPhone 4S that my granddaughter uses ( it doesn't have Internet connection )

How do I transfer photos and videos from my iPhone 5 or Mac to an inactive iPhone 4S that my granddaughter uses ( it doesn't have Internet connection )

    Two steps:
you can first transfer photos from iPhone to computer and then drag them to the external hard drive. For your iTunes library, you can follow:
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Locate your external drive.
Mac: On the desktop or Finder sidebar.
    3. Locate your iTunes folder:By default, the iTunes folder is located in:
Mac: Finder > username > Music
    4. Drag the iTunes folder to your external drive. This can take a while if you have a lot of items.
    6. When the transfer is complete, your iTunes Library will have been successfully copied to your external drive.

  • Upgraded to lion v10.7 java would no load cause of no Internet connection. Internet was working. Was able to connect to the Internet with no problem.

Upgraded to lion v10.7 during installation java could not load because of no Internet connection. But when asked to check for a Internet connection. No problem could not be found. Now error message randomly pops up saying java could not load because of no Internet connection. There is no problem with the Internet connection. Anyone know how to fix this problem. This popup is getting annoying.

Restart, ensure you're connected wired and not wirelessly, and launch Java Preferences.app in /Utilities. That should bring up a dialog saying you need to install the runtime version. Do it and that should fix your issue.

  • My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. So someone please tell me what can I do next to prevent the problem? Am I doing something wrong maybe?

    Hi Kevin,
I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input.  I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy.  I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?
    Nathan.

  • Long loading time if no internet connection available (VS 2005 Redist)

    Hallo forum members!
I've been searching for a solution for my problem for a while - without success. It isn't really a critical issue, but quite annoying anyways.
Here's the problem i'm dealing with: I've developed an .NET application using Visual Studio 2005 and the included Crystal Report classes. When deploying my module everything works  as expected, offering a decent performance when loading the Crystal Report assemblies provided by the redistributable package - if an internet connection is available. If the system doesn't offer such a connection (e.g. not properly configured proxy settings) the module takes a huge amount of time to be loaded. An examination (using ProcMon) leaded to the conclusion that the Crystal Report assemblies try to retrieve the system connection settings from the registry in order to establish a connection to the internet. This is done only once when loading for the first time.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? What is this connection used for? Is there a way to suppress this behaviour on systems without a valid internet connection in order to avoid this annoying long loading time?
Thanks on advance for your help.
    Greetings,
    L.F.

Nothing like a good vacation. And I got your christmas present early :). While you were away we (actually one other customer) figured it out. I have written a note re. the resolution that was supposed to be published yesterday, but it's still not out there, so here it is as I submitted it:
    Symptom
When a report is loaded is takes between 150 - 180 seconds to display
This is only reproducible on computers with no internet connection
There are no error messages and the report comes up eventually
    Reproducing the Issue
Create a Windows application with the following function calls:
              new Report()
             report.SetDataSource(dataSet)
The function SetDataSource takes 2 plus minutes to execute
    Cause
On SetDataSource() an attempt is made to connect to crl.verisign.com
SetDataSource() uses the framework and as per the Microsoft Knowledge Base specified under "Resolution", it is actually the framework that is attempting the connection
    Resolution
Solution is described in this Microsoft Knowlege Base:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936707
The following Microsoft article also discusses the issue:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629393.aspx
An alternative workaround to the above is as follows:
Open IE and go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options...
    Go to the Advanced tab
    Find the Security heading
Under the Security heading find "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"
    Uncheck this option
    Keywords
long time load crl.verisign.com certificate revoked internet
The note will be published here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-notes
and the number will be 1270414

  • Map Loader doesn't work at all!

I have read on the forum that you can load down maps to your N95 with Map Loader to avoid traffic costs.
I failed to do it regards many try.
I have a HP PC with Vista Business. I begin with upgrade of PC Suit on it (6.84) and I updated Maps software on N95. I downloaded Map Loader from Nokia Site (1.2) and started it. I get a message that I should use GPS once before I use Map Loader. So I did it and drive a bit of road with it. It worked pretty well, I didn’t try voice guides yet.
Thereafter I connect N95 by USB cable in memory mode to my PC and started Map Loader. I get the warnings screen as usual and after I choose OK I get error message, something like that: Unexpected error occurred, sorry for inconvenience, try again later!
I tried all I could without success, please help before I’ll get creasy :-)

Read the maploader error message more carefully!
You simply have to put your phone into the correct mode.
Connect your phone and select mass storage (NOT PC Suite). Start map loader and it will download direct to your card.Message Edited by selintra on 01-Oct-200709:22 PM
    Thank You for your concern!
I have read very carefully the error message, be sure of it. The problem was that when I connected my N95 via USB I get the choice: PC Suite mode or Mass storage mode and I choose Mass storage mode, precisely as you have suggested it. But it did not work! I was frustrated as I said before.
But it says DATA TRANSFER MODE, not Mass storage mode, doesn’t it?
I red the other post in this forum which describe how you put your USB connection port on your phone in to this mode.
Go to Tools > Settings > Connection > USB > USB mode = Data transfer
I did it and EUREKA! It works  And more! Now when I connect my N95 to USB port it ask me if I want connect it in DATA TRANSFER mode or not!
I do not know why it didn’t do it before, but that was my problem!

  • Reformatted iPod on Windows, iTunes doesn't recognize internet connection

    Help!
A friend loaded his songs on my iPod. When I tried to update it on my Windows PC, the Mac prompt 'iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.' popped up, instead of the Windows prompt 'Your iPod needs to be reformatted for use with Windows. Would you like to run iTunes to restore your iPod now?' (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1441)
So I try to 'Restore' and the prompt I get is 'iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server because you are not connected to the Internet. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.'
Thing is, I AM connected to the internet.
So then I accidentally formatted the iPod on Windows Explorer, and now nothing shows up except the image ' Use iTunes to Restore'.
Would any of you be able to save my iPod?
    Thank you!

When you moved to DSL, did the provider install any
new software on your system, or give you software you

No, there was no software installed by me or them (and as far as I know there is none available) on my computer.

Where is my "Network Utility"? Thanks...

  • Firefox stops loading pages and hoses internet connection for all other apps

Running Firefox 3.6.3; XP sp3; FSecure Client Security 9
After using Firefox for a while - sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, it will stop loading pages. If I click on a link, nothing happens. The program still responds to key / mouse input, but refuses to load any new pages. Furthermore, it stops all internet connections from my machine, so that IE and Opera stop working. I think it also stops email, but I am not sure.
If I quit Firefox, the process is still running and I have to quit it manually from Task Manager. That solves the problem and internet connections are restored.
I have tried in safe mode, I have tried removing all extensions, I have tried deleting my profile and doing a clean re-install. It's driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, maybe after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • IPad2 Doesn't see internet.

Just bought my iPad2. It worked fine in the Apple Store. It apparently connects to my home network but does not see internet. Safari gives the error message that it is not connected to the internet.  I use Time Capsule as my router. Everything else works fine on the network (iphone, iMac, MacBook, Apple TV). When I open Settings>WiFi the network is identified correctly. When I tap the small right arrow it shows DHCP, IP address, Subnet mask -- nothing else.
I called Apple Care but they were not helpful. I have reset modem and router several times, have done every reset possible on the iPad, and reenterd the requested info each time. I tried manually entering the info from my iPhone to the iPad but that did not work. Not sure what else to do. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Bob

If you are still unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network, attempt a software restore on your iPad, there may be a problem with some type of network driver, which a software restore would most likely fix.
