Map Locations in Bridge similar to Lightroom 4?

Hi,
I have been enjoying adding location data to image files in LR4 using the Map tab>my locations feature. I am wondering if anyone knows of a plugin to enable bridge to insert location information in file metadata in a similar fashion to LR4 but including additional file types, especially .pdf. If not Bridge, anyone know of another program that will allow georeferencing of .pdf and other documents?
Thanks,
bob

Seem to recall one script by Paul Rigget for entering geolocaton data.  But can not find thread.
Might check with the Bridge Script forum.  http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_scripting

I have always had little odd things not work when using safari on a large % of websites I visit,  the latest issues are
no response when hovering over google map location pins, travel site calendars not opening or responding to mouse, drag and drop
show the item being dragged several inches away from the actual pointer, some links don't respond, missing items
or odd layout with print or pop ups going off the screen on some website pages, zooming in and out does not help. I have none
of these issues when using Firefox or Chrome. Been using Safari for 4 years now.

Have you tried a PRAM and an SMC reset? They're longshots, but don't take long to try.
    PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Have you run Apple Diagnostics from the disc(s) that shipped with the computer?
Since the problem occurs in all browsers, it still sounds like a video hardware or video RAM or maybe a software issue having to do with layers and rendering.
The map layers aren't getting rendered, or if rendered, aren't getting displayed.
Do you have any browser add-ins? Pop-up blockers?
Since you have two video chipsets, it's possible that might be related to the issue.
This non-Apple website talks about switching between chipsets on the various MacBook models so equipped, and points to a free 'donationware' program for the menubar that lets you easily switch between chipsets:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/macbook-pro-unibody-faq/macboo k-pro-unibody-switching-between-graphics-processors.html
Trying to think of other software that might help pinpoint the problem, does the iPhoto Slideshow 'Shatter' template work? Working properly, it 'shatters' images into several color layers and rotates them in and out to build and deconstruct photos.

  • Maps Location Problems - PLEASE HELP

I have an 8 Gb iphone with firmware 1.1.4 and am trying to use the maps location feature. it will not work unless i turn my WiFi off and then try to locate and once i have been located i can turn WiFi back on and get a more accurate location. even if i am not connected to WiFi but i still have the WiFi feature turned on it will not work. please help

I recall this post before. Were you the same one that posted it? The Google map location function seems to be the problem here, and it could be an issue with the application. Did you try the troubleshooting steps in order, power off/on, reset, restore? If you did and that doesn't seem to fix it, then I suggest a trip to the Apple Store Genius bar. I also find it interesting that once you get a location, that turning on the WiFi gets it more accurate. I've not seen that. The location goes out and gets its information from a webserver. If there is an issue connecting to their database, I don't know that you would get an error message. I think I posted the name of the server before, I just can't remember it now. There is a way to update location information with that service, it is posted on their webpage. I know I have the location saved on my desktop, it's is just that I'm away from home right now on my laptop. I'll see if I can find it for you.

I lost tons of metadata (pin/map locations for places visited) on aperture after days of work entering it (over 400 locations visited). any ideas how to recover it? i can't find it anywhere.

What happened before the data were lost? Did Aperture crash?

  • Mapping location errors caused by 3G

I was very puzzled as my iPod touch could locate me within 20 m in the house whereas my iphone thought I was 200km away and only when I went outside and A-GPS could work did it correct itself. However I have discovered if I turn off 3G then the map location immediately switches to the correct location. If I turn off all cellular functions ( airplane mode ) and just use wireless again the location is accurate. I assume it is using cell towers to triangulate when A-GPS is not available and wonder if the 3G signal is interfering and hence leading to the wrong result. Anyway there is clearly a bug and I wondered if anyone else has the same problem.

for anyone that googles this error, i resolved this error by using SMQ1/SMQ2 and restarting some jobs that were in SYSFAIL status

Yes, you can use Photoshop+Bridge without using Lightroom.
You can subscribe to the Photography Package for $9.99/month, use Photoshop and Bridge and ignore Lightroom.

  • How to display only images that do not have a map location assigned

I just upgraded to PSE 11.  So far so good.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit, SP1.
I'd like to find out how to search for all of my photos that do not have a map location assigned to them.
Is there a way to do this?  It may be built in, but so far I have not been able to figure it out.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I think that if you select the Places view, the images shown are the ones that you have already placed. If you then click on Add Places (at the bottom) the filmstrip across the top shows the images that haven't been placed.
If you then place one of those images, a small icon appears in the filmstrip until you next close that window (click on Done).
    Hope that helps

  • How do I remove the rectangle label on a Maps location but leave the red pin?

How do I remove the rectangle label on a Maps location but leave the red pin?  I find the label can get in the way and I can't read the map properly, if I could see only the red pin then I could read the streets around it.  If I touch the label then I get a new screen with address details.  Another thing I tried and I ended up with a course plotted to drive from my current location, neither of these things I wanted.
    Thanks,
    GT.

  • Siri/map Location Issues after ios 6 Upgrade

So I updated my iPhone 4S to ios6 last week, and I noticed today that I am having location/maps issues when I ask Siri to locate restaurants near me. I was traveling for work today, and ask Siri to find restaurants near me, and the location services arrow came on at the top right of my iphone that it was working. Well, it found restaurants for the location that I last had my Maps location services turned on at. I do not leave the Maps location services on all of the time and only turn it on when I need it. So, I turned it on after it didn't work correctly, then ask Siri to locate restaurants near me again, and it worked correctly that time. I turned the Maps location services off, drove 30 miles or so up the road and stopped at an interstate exit. Then, with Maps location services still off, I ask Siri to find restaurants near me again, and it still found restaurants 30 miles up the road where I last had the Maps location services on. What gives? Before ios 6, Siri did not need to have the Maps location services on to locate restaurants near you. This is a bug and needs to be fixed. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution?

  • Display Geo-Location in Bridge

I GeoTag all my pictures and can display the location (Lat/Long, Altitude) in the Metadata. Is there a script or other add-on that can be used to display the physical map location, or Google Earth location, in a separate window when a particular photo is selected?
    Thanks,

  • Suggestions for Aperture Workflow Similar to Lightroom?

Are there any past Lightroom users who have found a workflow that is similar to Lightrooms ability to have a Quick Collection as well as the ability to highligt an Album/Collection and set it as a Target Collection? I miss these two features more than anything else. I've tried the idea of setting up an Album as a smart Album to say, show all photos that have been flagged. This is the closeest option to a Quick Collection that I can think of. The downside is that if you want to flag images for different collections, the images from one collection will show up in the Album of another. The problem seems to be that there is no way to send things to an Album other than with Star Ratings or Flagged. There is also no way to select an album to make it the default album for putting image in. I've been racking my brain on how to make this all happen similar to what we had in Lightroom but can't come up with anything. I'm hoping that by discussing this somone else has figured a way around this problem. Hope to hear fsoem ideas.

You could use flags, ratings or colors to mark your images. Then create a new smart album called "Quick Collection". Check all options which are relevant to you. Now and in the future all flagged images will show up in this album.
Otherwise use meta data. You could create your own fields in the meta data tab of the inspector panel. For example I created a new field called "notes" which holds information which is only relevant to me. Put in "quick collection" or something appropriate. Create a preset. Apply the new preset to your images. You cold use the stamp tool for that.
You could use keywords. Maybe you have to hit -d- and -s- to show the keyword-options beneath the viewer. Create a new category and a new keyword "Quick collection" or something similar. You will see that your Keywords have shortcuts assigned. Option-1 will assign the first keyword to your image. Create a smart album which holds images with the choosen keyword.
English is not my first language but I hope my thoughts will be helpful.

  • Sharing Pinned "Maps" Location in Aperture

Has anyone figured out a way to "share" a pinned location in Maps to Aperture?  I know that Aperture uses Apple maps for locating a photo but if I've pinned the location in the Maps application either in OS X or on an iOS device it would be nice if it automatically showed up in Aperture's map location view.

I don't know of any easy and automatic way to get the map locations from the Maps.app to Aperture.
What I am doing, to extract the locations from the Maps.app, is to use the Information panel of the dropped pin to share the location by email.
The email will contain a contacts card. If you open this contacts card in Contacts.app, you will see the address and a map query url. The URL contains the latitude and longitude.
You can enter these coordinates into the "Manage  My Places" search field in Aperture, and the "Additional Results" panel in Aperture will take you to the place on Aperture's Places map.
Then create a new place from there - that is a rather involved work-around.
Tha Contacts will not let you copy the coordinates directly from the link. I open the vcard simply in TextEdit, to be able to copy and paste the latitude and longitude.

  • Lightroom 4.x Maps location

    Hello,
I love the new Maps feature in LR 4.x. However, there is a small annoyance:
    - Select some pictures and to into the Maps module
    - Search for a city, as an example "Paris"
    - select some of your picture, zoom, and click on the map where you want to assign your picture position
    - Do "Add GPS ..."
    - Perfect. Now, you want to set some others coordinates for the next pictures. This coordinates are pretty close to the just done.
    - Select the next pictures...
    - LR 4.x reset the position to "Paris" .
To my mind, LR should only reset the position to the previous search if the user actually "search" and not automatically.
      Thanks

That's been bugging me too. I've taken to deleting the search term from the box once I'm 'at' the location if I'm adding images to various positions within that location - this avoids it resetting back to the default location co-ordinates each time you select another set of images.
Despite this minor niggle, I too am loving the map feature.

  • Possible to export photos from Adobe Bridge directly to Lightroom?

I have thousands of images previously imported and processed in Adobe Bridge. I would like to open my original folders in Bridge, review the images and export only selected images directly to Lightroom. Is it possible to do this or must I import the original folder directly into Lightroom and make my selections by unchecking boxes?
I would also like to import my keywords list from Bridge into Lightroom and apparently that can be done under the Metadata tab in Lightroom, but how do I navigate to the keyword list in Bridge,? Where is it located? Thanks. Bernie M

    Judith:
Bridge does have a keyword hierarchy (Keyword sets). I'm not sure if it is brought in to LR as such, but the keywords do come into LR adequately for my purposes. Also, please remember that I am now only using Bridge for older archived folders that were originally processed in Bridge and all new photos are imported directly to Lightroom.
When I select images in Bridge and drag them into Lightroom, all unselected images remain in their original folders, as do the selected images. The selected images are just for my Lightroom Library -- for my normal working practice. If I understand LR, the images brought into LR are not new copies, they are in a sense "aliases" for working purposes and the originals reside in their original folders. In fact if you have the original folders on an external harddrive that is not connected, you cannot modify the images in LR until you reconnect the external drive. So, when you say you load everything into LR you should be aware that the original images are NOT in LR but remain in their original folder, wherever that resides.
