Map viewer definitions commands

hello
I am using map definitions tool to define my legends, but i have a dynamic application which needs a numerous number of legend, so i need a command to define my legend instead of creating in a GUI interface of this tool.
thanks in advance

Hi!,
mapviewer is a middle tier component; you can compose your website as you want to.
specify your ideas a bit.

  • Portal: custom i-view definition (transaction) how to hide command box

    Dear Sirs,
    we are trying to define a transaction i-view (displaying a SRM transaction)
    in portal but hiding the command box.
    The i-view has been defined under portal content \..\iview\GUI\
    We have tested some values in "Parameters Forwarded to Transaction" in I-VIEW definition,
    like...
    noheaderOkCode = 1
    WEBGUI_SIMPLE_TOOLBAR  = hide, no etc..
    listed in other threads
    but whitout any effect.
    Is this a possible feature and what are the correct values ?
    From SRM side we have tested the transaction in SE93 in both modes, EWT and normal.

    Sorry but we have any result with these values
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE = 1 or
    ~WEBGUI_SIMPLE_TOOLBAR = 0
    In the "Parameter forwarded to transaction" in the iview definition from portal.
    The command box appears in any case.
    Whe should remove also the "menu" button.

  • How do I add a VM that has too many dependencies to be shown as "Map View " ?

    When in Table View there is no option to add/remove a VM to an App or to create/delete an App.
    f.eks. I added three VM's and created an App called "Convergion"
    Two of those VM's can only be shown in "Table View" because of too many outgoing dependencies.
    I accidentally removed the Third VM (the one that could be shown in "Map View") and now I have no way of:
    1) Adding the third VM back to the App
    2) Removing the App or
    3) Remove the two remaining VM's from the App
    So, to create the App again I have to call it "Convergion~1" or something similarilly stupid.
    But two of the VM's now still belong to "Convergion" (the now "Zombied" App) as well as "Convergion~1"
    Any ideas ?
    P.S. I should be able to create an App and manually add the VM's needed from the vCenter Inventory (Search box or similar) without having to have a "Visual" contact in the Map View.
    Some maps get huge and it's not very practical.
    Consider this a feature request.

    Hi,
    I'm Galit from the QE team of VIN.
    All the things that you've described are correct.
    It is actually an edge case where the only VM, that the manual App can be managed from its Map view, was removed from the App.
    The Manual App management is as designed, and may be changed in the future.
    There are 2 ways to overcome this situation:
    1.You can, as you stated, create another Manual App with similar name and remain with the "Zombie App".
    2. To run a specific command that will remove the Zombie App from the DB.
    Please note that option no. 2 involves using an API that we do not publish.
    If you would like to use option no. 2 contact me in private and we will see about supplying the relevant commands to run in order to delete the "zombie" application.
    Thanks,
    Galit Gutman

  • AS Map viewer install freezing -

    Hi All -
    I am new to this so bear with me. Several times I have tried to install Map Viewer on 10g. I started with the Java SDK and created a stand alone instance of jre1.6.0_03. Then with the Quiklaunch AS Mapviewer download kit tried to install map viewer, setting ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME as described, and then running the oc4j -start command. It launches fine and begins churning away but always freezes at the following line :
    [oracle.lbs.mapserver.core.MapRecycleThread,
    #Thread-201] celansing old maps
    any ideas?

  • Map Viewer Installation

    I am trying to initialize the 'stand alone' version of Map Viewer on a Windows 2003 Server.
    I have the Java Development Kit and Java SDK environment installed and they seem to be functioning properly.
    I edited the 'start.bat' batch program for Map Viewer to the proper path names and ran it to start the instance. It reached the point where I entered a password, then it stopped running and the command window ended. I now cannot repeat this.
    I also edited some environment variables as per the oc4j readme instructions:
    ORACLE_HOME : directory where oc4j_extended.zip was extracted.
    JAVA_HOME : location of the J2SE SDK to be used.
    I have no experience in this and so wonder if I have them correct or not?
    Can anybody give me a suggestion?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,
    Same situation here. I am frustrated with MapViewer Quickstart/stand alone installation. As suggested by the Readme.txt in the OC4J folder, i also edited the environment variables ORACLE_HOME for this installation (the JAVA_HOME is already set before, to the location of Java in my machine, so no change).
    I set this ORACLE_HOME variable by something like Settings->Control Panel->System->Environment (in Windows). But the value suggested by this README 'violate' another setting that requires ORACLE_HOME variable specifies the complete path to the top-level directory that holds the Oracle environment.
    In my case :
    ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    other variable called CLASSPATH refers to this variable as well.
    All right, then i tried to configure such that i have :
    (1) ORACLE_HOME1 = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    (2) CLASSPATH, in this variable, all references to ORACLE_HOME were replaced with ORACLE_HOME1
    (3) ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\OC4J
    README of MapViewer Quickstart/stand alone says that :
    (1) The command "oc4j -start" should work
    (2) http://<oc4j_host>:8888 should get you to the OC4J welcome page.
    But :
    (1) The command "oc4j -start" really initialize, but never reach the oc4j administrator password entry; it freezes at "initialized".
    (2) the url http://<oc4j_host>:8888 really gets me to the Oc4j welcome page
    (3) additionally, this is fatal : Things like Database control (http://localhost:1158/em/console/logon/logon) and iSQL*plus are inaccessible.
    And i could not log myself in SQL*plus or from GeoRasterViewer (the application loaded but could not log into DB)
    When i re-configure things back to :
    (1) ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    (2) CLASSPATH, in this variable, all references set to ORACLE_HOME again
    The result is
    (1) “oc4j –start” command fails, it says : “OC4J startup failed”
    (2) could not reach the Oc4j welcome page (http://<oc4j_host>:8888)
    (3) I can then access again the Database control (http://localhost:1158/em/console/logon/logon) and iSQL*plus from browser;
    Also can log in SQL*plus and log in from GeoRasterViewer.
    Please give us some suggestions..
    thank you

  • Map View, Best way to view only desired locations?

    I have large areas peppered with dozens of thumbtack locations, and would like a quick way to view only photos whose thumbtacks are shown in the current map view, without creating a new Smart Album to do so.
    iPhoto has this ability, and hoping someone here knows a work-around in Aperture.
    It would be nice if manually selecting multiple thumbtacks worked, but only one at a time seems possible.

    What do you mean by "view only photos"? The only way I know to restrict the Images shown in the Browser is to use a filter.
    In all views including Places view the Browser shows the contents of the currently selected container with the current filter applied.  You can apply filters based on the Rule "Place" by selecting from the tiles at the top of the map view.  You cannot select more than one item at a time, but you can manually add additional "Place" rules to the filter.
    You can also apply filters by clicking the small blue-circled arrow that shows when you hover your cursor on the pin label that pops up when you hover over, or select, a pin.  This works with only one pin at a time, however.
    You should be able to select all Images associated with each pin you click by pressing and holding the Command key while clicking pins one after the other.  You could then create a new Album which will show just those selected Images.
    I know of no way to create a filter from multiple selected pins.
    Léonie's method of zooming out to create new pins will allow you to create a filter based on the newly created pin.  Note that the pins change dynamically with the zoom level of the map.  But you are still limited to one pin per filter unless you manually add "Place" Rules.

    It would be nice if clicking the "small blue-circled arrow" would react to multiple selected Location Pins, rather than just one!
    By "view only photos," I was hoping there is a similar function to iPhoto, in that the current map view, and the Pins shown within that view, can be used to quickly "find" images.
    Aperture does have this functionality, but only through creating a new Smart Album.  This is located in the "Gear" icon, bottom left in Places view.
    leonieDF, Perhaps the "Hide Place badges" option would help?

  • Google Map Integration with Map Viewer is not working

    Hi Team,
    My MapViewer Version: Ver11_1_1_7_B130111
    I have created a Google Map (with Type of Map Source as "Google Maps") in Oracle Map Viewer and i could see google map in Oracle Map Viewer(using "show Map").
    I wanted to show a village map theme over the above google map in a web page and i am using Jdeveloper to integrate map viewer with Village data. I could see the google maps inside Jdeveloper however when i run the Jdeveloper code google map is not shown inside the web page.
    I tried with Oracle Maps, Bing Maps as the "map source" in map viewer and tried integrating inside Jdeveloper and got same result (blank screen). However when i tried a different mapviewer ( Base Map ELOCATION.WORLD_MAP from OracleFMW MapViewer Home ) i could see the map in the web page.
    I could get all other base maps (created with "internal" as the map source") in the web page, so there is some thing that i am missing with Google Maps, Bing Maps, Oracle Maps. Could you please help me what is that i am missing or point to a help resource?
    Thanks

  • Bc4j view definition not found

    Within the doDML method in my PatientImpl class, I have implemented this snippet of code to insert a record into the TransactionLog entity after an insert into the Patient entity.
    DBTransaction trans = getDBTransaction();
    TransactionLogViewImpl txnLogView =
    (TransactionLogViewImpl)trans.createViewObject(
    " hmdclinical.customactiondemo.model.bc4j.TransactionLogView ");
    TransactionLogViewRowImpl row =
    (TransactionLogViewRowImpl) txnLogView.createRow();
    row.setAction('TEST');
    txnLogView.insertRow(row);
    txnLogView.remove();However, the error returned is "JBO-25002: Definition hmdclinical.customactiondemo.model.bc4j.TransactionLogView of type View Definition not found".
    What am I doing wrong ? My View object is called TransactionLogView and my business components package is hmdclinical.customactiondemo.model.bc4j ??
    Help ?
    Also - is it possible to perform the insert and then requery the same row to check for data in other columns on the table had that been populated by a trigger as the result on the insert performed by my business rule code ?? If i make the attribute refresh after update can I do a
    row.setAttribute
    view.insertRow(row)
    row.getAttribute ??
    How else would I get the values back from the row just inserted ??
    Thanks,

  • Map Viewer in Obiee 11G

    Hi,
    I need to install map viewer in obiee 11g to show maps in dashboards. I have no idea about this, can any one help me.
    Thanks,

    OBIEE Samples has very good documentation and the schemas to download and set this up

  • OBIEE 11g  Map View - Issue with Label Translation

    Hi All,
    I have a strange translation issue with the Maps in 11g.
    Created in English language to plot the Revenue for each of the Postal Codes.
    I selected Postal Code and Revenue Amount in the Criteria and created a new Map View. It had the text 'Postal Code' in the Map Legend and then the scale for revenue amount.
    Now I logged on with Chinese Language , it still appears as 'Postal Code' in English where in it was actually supposed to show it in Chinese.
    We have a translation pack to get all the column names translated. If I try creating a new table view, it shows the translated text instead of 'Postal Code', but some how this doesn't work with Maps.
    Has anyone faced similar issues ? Is there a workaround for this ?
    Thanks for any pointers.

    Hi,
    I also encounter the same issue. When I view combined layout, I get the No Results message. But when I edit the table layout, I see that there are records returned. Does anyone had any luck in resolving this issue?
    Thanks!

  • Projection problem in OracleAS Map Viewer

    Hi,
    I am using OracleAS Map Viewer 11 EA1and I try to display a map with an image (srid=1002000) and a vector (srid=8192) on the top. If I understand the documentation correctly, the vector might be reprojected into the map srid which is 1002000. But when the map is created, the vector is not correctly reprojected (I see some roads in the ocean!). I am wandering if it is a bug in map viewer; or maybe I didn't use it corectly!
    My query looks like:
    <map_request
    title=""
    datasource="all_images"
    width="1229"
    height="840"
    srid="1002000"
    antialiase="false"
    format="PNG_URL">
    <center size="7865.9766">
    <geoFeature>
    <geometricProperty typeName="center">
    <Point>
    <coordinates>
    1230462.1 , -582145.4
    </coordinates>
    </Point>
    </geometricProperty>
    </geoFeature>
    </center>
    <themes>
    <theme name="mosaic_pan'"
    min_scale="5000000.0"
    max_scale="0.0">
    <jdbc_georaster_query
    jdbc_srid="1002000"
    datasource="all_images"
    georaster_table="mosaic.mosaic_pan"
    georaster_column="georaster"
    asis="false">
         select georaster from mosaic.mosaic_pan where rowid='AAANn1AAKAAAAAKAAA'
              </jdbc_georaster_query>
    </theme>
    <theme name="road_l" min_scale="10000.0" max_scale="0.0">
    <jdbc_query
    datasource="all_images"
              jdbc_srid="8192"
    render_style="MDSYS:L.MAJOR STREET"
    spatial_column="shape1"
    >select shape1 from can51.road_l</jdbc_query>
    </theme>
    </themes>
    </map_request>
    Thanks in advance,
    Ganael

    your map request seems correct, and yes mapviewer will automatically reproject your vector theme if it's srid (8192) is different from the request srid (1002000). What's more likely is that your georaster is not being displayed correctly? Have you tried displaying the vector road data against a know vector boundary data set like country/state, in the 1002000 projection and see if everything is working fine? then add the georaster layer back on and go from there....

  • Map View in Photoshop Elements 6

    I am a new user of Photoshop Elements 6. I got some pictures which include GPS Information. Now I want to locate these pictures in the map view.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopElements/6.0/help.html?content=WS7E96CCE9-EA88-4f7a-B 212-2C37C9CEEF1B.html
    Unfortunately I am not able to find this feature in my program!
    Any idea?

    Johnny,
    PSEs Map View is a toy feature that is buggy and not engineered to handle more than a couple thousand photos with map (GPS) locations. So I suggest staying away from it. See these messages:

  • ORDER BY in view definitions

    ORDER BY was not allowed in view definitions in 7.3.4. It is allowed in 8.1.6 but I have not seen any documentation to say when or why it was introduced.
    There is an old rule that a select statement does not guarantee the order of rows without an order by. Does this mean that this rule is no longer strictly true, ie the order IS guaranteed if selecting from a view which itself contains an order by ?
    If the order of rows in this case is NOT guaranteed, then why allow an order by in the view definition?
    This was brought to my notice by other writers to this forum who have pointed out that
    (if the view does indeed guarantee the order of rows), then the pseudo column ROWNUM at last becomes useful for applying sequence numbers to queried rows if an in-line view with an order by is used. ROWNUM used to be of limited use because it was assigned before the order by.

    SriDHAR,
    Please don't take offense. My comment was not aimed at you. When I wrote the post, I was expressing some cumulative frustration at various things about these forums, including the unpredictable performance of the search feature, lack of forum monitoring, and a series of recent posts on this topic, not just this thread, that included various correct and incorrect responses and repetition of the question and starting of new threads on the same topic by the same people, even after correct responses were given, and requests for things like a "guarantee" even after "various people have suggested that technique". What I had in mind, when I wrote the portion of the post that you quoted, was some of the various responses that constituted nothing more than repetition of the question as if hadn't already been posed and answered. I certainly don't fault you or anyone else for responding with an answer. Perhaps hearing it from one more person one more time or explained in a slightly different way will make a difference. I certainly did not mean to imply that my explanation was any better than yours. I was merely expressing frustration at my prior efforts having gone to waste, since people are apparently unable to sufficiently refine the search criteria and wade through the duplicate topics to find it and similar efforts by many of us on various topics.
    I encourage those who ask questions to search for the answers first themselves, both in the on-line documentation, where the master index search seems to work very well, and in the forums, where the search mechanism seems to work sporadically. I know I have seen some others post similar suggestions and unfortunately they are frequently not well-received, although sometimes that may be due to how the suggestion was phrased.
    On some other forums, the discussions are monitored by multiple moderators or system operators who quickly remove duplicate posts, move posts to the correct forums, provide links to previous discussions on the same topic, and guide new users as to how to use the forums. The end result is that the forums are a lot less cluttered with repetitive stuff, which makes reading, searching, and everything easier and faster. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have that on this forum. I have heard that the monitoring of these forums by Oracle personnel is voluntary. I have noticed that same Oracle personnel, like Robert Pang, routinely respond to certain topics, like utl_smtp, and Goeff Lee seems to have adopted the Objects forum. A long time ago, Rick Post did a good job of monitoring this SQL and PL/SQL forum, but he vanished long ago. That was before the new forum format. So, as far as I know, we don't currently seem to have a monitor for this forum. I noticed that, for a while, the Forumm Administrator tried to monitor the Feedback forums, but was overwhelmed, and said "I give up" and appears to have quit deleting or moving off-topic posts, and rarely even responds to on-topic ones anymore. The longer it goes unchecked, the worse it gets.
    I have seen some other forums, where, lacking official moderation, groups of frequent responders have taken it upon themselves to do what they can. Obviously, we can't delete duplicates or move things to the correct forums, and requests for moderators to do this has fallen on deaf ears, but we can point out duplicates and suggest searching documentation and previous posts. I would be interested in hearing what everyone else thinks we should do. Should we try to act as monitors ourselves? Or should we simply ignore duplicates and not respond? Or should we provide links to prior posts? Or should we respond to everything anew? Eventually, the forums just get so cluttered that, regardless of original plan, things go unanswered, simply due to too many posts and too little time. Or do we need to inundate the feedback suggestions forum with requests for better search functions and monitoring. I know several have already been posted. I figured that once a suggestion was made, they didn't need to see duplicates, but maybe I was wrong. Maybe they need to hear it from all of us. What does everyone else think? I have been biting my tongue for a long time.

    There is information on reporting bugs with reproducible testcases in the link below.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/support/tech/migration/workbench/index.html
    In the case of mapping views, the source view text or a cut down smaller testcase that reproduces the error, and the workbench version, are usually sufficient.
