Mapping Documentation

Hi all,
I just entered an XI - Project (XI2.0) and was given the task to document the mapping rules.
the I found the ability of xi to store some documentation information for every mapping program and some other components.
My question is: is there any way to export the entire documentation (expect printing every single page).

Generating mapping documentation in BW

Hi all,
I am looking for a mapping documentation in BW, that shows me the data flow from cube to datasource in detail for every concerned info object in an overview.
That must be more comfortable than the lists I get from the metadata repository and download able.
Has anybody made experience to enhance this documentation feature? Or has created an own mapping documentation that is available for me?
I would appreciate any comments and hints. Thanks.

Sorry. I clicked the link to the post in an email and didn't
spot the category was RoboHelp for Word. The Snippet was about
inability to create a printed document rather than being able to
create one but not exclude certain contents.
I think there was a post a couple of months back similar to
yours and that the consensus was you cannot prevent the index being
created using RoboHelp for Word.

Sorry for the late reply. I just want to start with mapping only three fields from the Source structure: ItemCode, ItemDesc, ItemUOM.
What I really would like is the documentation on the constants that I need to provide to MATMAS05 to let the material be successfully created upon sending from XI.
Right now, I'm getting an error "The numeric material number 100000032 was transferred without leading zeros"
MSGFN is currently "009" is this right?
Also, I need to create the material using the customer material code, therefore I mapped it to "BISMT" which is the "Old material code" is this correct?

Doubt on Join Mapping documentation

Dear all,
Let me present the following case: I'm working against an Oracle database where I have two tables ASSET (id NUMBER, name VARCHAR2, asset_type_id NUMBER) and ASSET_TYPE (id NUMBER, type_name VARCHAR2).
What I want to try is to build an Asset.cfc with the id (numeric), name (string), and typeName (string) properties. I tried to avoid having an AssetType class loaded into the type property that later I had to access with asset.getType().getTypeName(), but having the typeName string directly as asset.getTypeName().
Then I read the "Join mapping in a CFC" section of the CF9 documentation and thought to have found an elegant solution. The document presents the Employee-Address relationship and uses the addressId joincolumn, but never explains if the addressId column is member of the Employee or the Address table. I guessed the addressId was a column of the Employee table pointing to the PK of the Address table, and tried to apply that logic to my case; of course, it does not work. Then I reached the conclusion that the addressId must be a member of Address table that maps automatically always to the PK of the Employee table.
(1) Is my conclusion right? I.e. is the joincolumn a member of the target table and joins always automatically to the defined PK of the source table? If this is the case, I cannot solve my problem this way as I want to join the target id column with the source asset_type_id column.
(2) Is there a way to override this and make the joincolumn to join to an alternative source column other than the PK?
(3) Does anyone knows the why of this limitation?
(4) Could anyone explain an alternative way for getting the type string directly with asset.getType() without creating an explicit AssetType cfc? Is there some pattern or best practice for this case?

Ok,
A solution seems to be the @formula parameter (sorry I didn't find the http://forums.adobe.com/message/2298153#2298153 post before). Any solution using the join mapping? (I guess not). Any other ideas?
Just one question for the experts: if I use the formula for several properties calculated from the same table, does hibernate intelligently translate them to a single query?

SAP R/3 Fields to BW InfoObjects Mapping Documentation

Hello everyone,
As a newbie, one of many challenges that I face is to map SAP R/3 fields to its corresponding InfoObjects in BW. I've learned that we can run transaction <b>SE11</b> and view table <b>RSOSFIELDMAP</b>, in order to know the mapping between OLTP Source Fields and InfoObjects.
However, there are many fields that have not been mapped in this table, like PAYR-CHECT, PAYR-ZBNKN and PAYR-ZBNKL, to name a few.
So I just wonder, has anyone out there compiled this mapping into a document or published it on any web site?
Appreciate if you could let me know about this.

Hi Fulham,
In help.sap.com, you can check out the datasource and the fields mapped from which table. Just check the business content section.
eg. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7a/c3143c26b8bc00e10000000a114084/frameset.htm and click on any of the available links under datasource.
I find this extremely helpful when I need to find out the objects and the tables. Hope this helps.

Need to export owb mapping documentation..How ?

I have 500 mappings and i want details document of these mappings. Is there any way By which i can export the mapping document and which contains source table, target table , and all transformation exists in it.
It should be like a ETL specs.

How to get digital signature for Google Map geocoding V3 in PL/SQL?

    Could anyone provide me an example about how to generate digital signature for Google Maps service v3 in PL/SQL? We tried to upgrade our program using Google maps service from v2 to v3. We are using PL/SQl on background to send request to Google for geocoding. We found some sample code to register with digital signature, but none of them is based on PL/SQl. Notice I used Google business client ID "gme-XXX" and wallet.

To Intigrate Google Map in BSP page

Hello Experts,
    My requirement is to show the google map in my BSP page. I have generated API key for that also. the following code works in .html extension but it wont work if i create a view in IC webclient and paste in its .htm page
But same code with BSP tags. wont work. It will just gives you a blank screen.

Google map in director

I have greated in flash a google map application that works perfectly. the markers are updated from an .xml file.
When i import the .swf in Director 11.5 the control buttons appear, the buttons that let me change the map into "Map-Satellite-Terrain-Hybrid" work, and the markers also show up.Even the googlemap logo appear to the bottom of the screen.
But the maps do not load, i get a message saying that i have too zoom out because there is now image at that level. I zoom out but still i get the same message.
Anyone can help me? searched all over the net but i can't find anything.need to make it work for my college degree final paper

Hello,
I'm trying to import on Adobe Muse a Google Maps custom map that I have created with the API google maps... But I have problems with writing the HTML code...

You have to create to go to "insert html code" in the Muse menu.

Putting Google maps on my Website

I am brand new at website design and I am trying to put a website together mostly for fun what I would like to do is put Google maps on a page. On that page I would like to mark locations (trails and camp site) with a little information and a link to a page that would have more information. I believe there is a plug-in I can buy for only $25 but I am enjoying learning and would like to learn how instead of just a plug and play. All you need to do is to copy past the code and repeat from the "var marker" and down to the addListener for each marker with overlay you want.
Remember to give the variables unique names.
You can use this geoCode url to retrieve geocodes for the addresses you would like to have on your map:

Look for the "location" section.

Value Mapping values..question

i have been through the value Mapping documentation, and we are trying to analyze a message Map where there are value maps, However we are not able to find the value maps maintained in ID when i select the tools --> value mapping and specify the context, agency and schema for the source values and agency and schema for target values...
Where is this table maintained, where can we view the values in it...?
Do we need any additional permissions to view this table.
When we test it the values dont show up in message mapping tests, however they do show up at runtime as they should..we need to edit and add some values to this table but are unable to find it...

In ID under tools --> value mapping you need to create the value mapping groups and there specify the values.

No.

You can see the value only at RunTime and not while testing in test tab in message mapping. Go to ID open your value mapping group and there you can edit or add new entrie.

PI Mapping documenatation

Hi
I tried downloading the PI Mapping to documentation using figaf tool.
Here I could download the xim file from mapping and converted the same to xls file.
But while opening the xls file, it is throwing error that "Excel found unreadable content in ...xls, do you want to recover the contents of the workbook?......"
Even if I click Yes also it is not opening.
can you please tell me the workaround to have the PI Mapping into documentation.

Show store locations on a Google map

What is the latest way to show store locations on a Google map in BC please? There are lots of resources but they seem to differ for the best approach to embed a Google map & many are out of date.

There is no latest way but the safest way is to use the google geolocation based on address rather then trying to use the lattitude and longitutde from BC. SInce these do not render out anything in several cases. Like if you are in a country that does not have a state for example.
