Mapping Drives using a PIX501 and vpn client

We have a 501 and are using cisco vpn client. We have a Windows 2000 and a windows 2003 server on the network we are connecting to. We use windows authentication when we logon the vpn. We are mapping drives on both servers onto the client. The mapped drives on the 2000 server are visable to the client. The mapped drives on the 2003 server are not even when we try to remap. We have Routing and Remote Access enabled on the 2003 server but still fail to map the drives (or ping the 2003 server). Can anyone out there shed any light on our problem. Thanks

Mapping drive using GPO does not obey to Item-level targeting

Dear all,
We are mapping drive using Item-level targeting based on security group (User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Drive Maps) with the following settings:
Action: Replace
Run in logged-on user's security context: <Checked>
Item-level targeting: <Checked>
So if user is member of Group_X then he/she will have drive X mapped on his computer.
Problem now is that (even if reconnect is unchecked), drive will stay mapped when we remove a user from this group.
Is this the normal behavior ? did I missed something ?
or even worst, imho, should I add a new drive properties which would say to delete the drive if user does not belong to the relevant group ?
-> double targeting query for a single drive
-> what's the point of Replace / Reconnect then ?

Drive mapping should not remain after you remove the user from the group.
What I suspect is, that at first, the "reconnect" was checked then the user got the policy and tattooed the reconnect value. after that it doesn't matter that "reconnect" was removed.
Try the following:
Logon with test user, make sure no drive mapping exist (disconnect if necessary).
Create a new policy with drive map - make sure reconnect is not checked, and apply it for the test user.
Make sure no other drive mapping policy exist for that user.
Login with the test user, make sure drive was mapped.
Log off that user, remove it from the group, wait for AD replication and log on again (sometimes another log off \ log on required).

We are using windows 8.1 pro in our dell brand desktop. Our users access the client machine through vpn. We are using VPN client version 5.0.07.0290-k9.
That is working fine.
Issue:
I have a Cisco router RV325. I am Configured Easy vpn in my router.Then i am using the same cisco vpn client and the same OS.
Result is not getting ping. but vpn is connected good.

Can't connect to Easy VPN Server using Windows 7 inbuilt VPN client

Hi Everyone,
I would like your help to resolve a vpn issue I am having with my Windows 7 inbuilt vpn client. I am trying to connect to an Easy vpn server on a Cisco 2951 ISR G2. Well, I can connect using Cisco vpn client v5.07 but I can't connect using Windows 7 inbuilt vpn client. Is there any configuration that I am missing so that I can connect using Windows 7 inbuilt vpn client to connect to the vpn server?

Base on your description, your case must is the NPS client can’t pass the NPS policy.
The NPS client can’t connect the network may have many reason, such as the Network Access Protection Agent service not started successful, the certificate not issued properly,
please offer us information when your Windows 7 client denied, such as event id, original error information, screenshot.

Vpn configuration problems 2621xm and vpn client

hello,
I'm trying to configure my home cisco 2621xm to accept vpn connections. I've used many cisco pdf documents and they all same almost the same so I've done my configuration using these documents.
now I just can't get past this error message I'm getting and I have no idea why this is happening.
any ideas to help me get past this step, I'm really stuck here.
also, I've tried vpn client version 5 and 4.8

Web based VPN issue wheras anyconnect and VPN client working fine

We have Cisco ASA 5540 and im running into issues with accessing the webbased VPN(https://X.X.x.x).there are about 8 VPN profiles configured and im unable to login using any of the profiles whereas VPN client and Cisco Any connect are working fine. on accessing web based VPN after providing the login credentials and hit enter the page is getting refreshed and it throws me back to the same login page again. This is the Production ASA and i cannot run debug.

Your problem is the NAT-config. First, the following line is not needed as RDP doesn't work ober UDP:
ip nat inside source static udp 192.168.10.136 3389 interface Dialer0 3389
Then, the following command causes the problems:
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.10.136 3389 interface Dialer0 3389
With that the router assumes that the server 192.168.10.136 should always be reached through the IP of dialer0 and does a translation.
There are a couple of ways to resolve the problem, but they all have some drawbacks ...
1) Only access the server through VPN. For that you just delete the NAT-statement above (the one with tcp) and you should be able to reach the server through the VPN.
2) Restrict the NAT to don't do a translation if a VPN-peer is accessing the server.
For that you need to attach a route-map to the NAT-statement. But that won't work with the "interface"-keyword in the NAT-Statement. But you can use this if you get a fixed IP from your provider.
3) Assign a second IP to the RDP-server. The original IP which is used in the NAT-statement is used for accessing the server without the VPN, the second IP is used for accessing the server through VPN.

Intermittent Internet Connection and VPN clients can't ping internal LAN but connected after installating cisco ASA5512x

I wish someone can help me on this, I'm a new guy on cisco firewalls and I'm currently implementing cisco asa 5512x, here are the details:

I think you should change your nat-exemption rule to smth more general, like
nat (inside,outside) source static any any destination static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 no-proxy-arp route-lookup
'cause your inside networks are not the same as your vpn-pool subnet.
Plus, if you're trying to reach inside subnets, different from 10.152.11.0 255.255.255.0 (ip from wich subnet is assignet to your inside interface, and for wich above nat exception should be enough), you should check if routing is configured from that subnets to your vpn-pool-subnet through the ASA.

Windows 8.1 pro and vpn client issue

Am using windows 8.1 pro and cisco vpn client version 5.0.0.7.0410
.my issue is that am able to connect to the VPN succesfully but when connected i cant ping nodes inside the VPN
whereas when i do the same test with a windows 7 and xp PCs , am able to ping and even remote desktop nodes.
someone help please ??

funniest thing is , after using my PC for two weeks and doing regular updates , am now able to ping and RDP to nodes
inside the VPN..:-)

What is the best way to store data on a network hard drive using CompactRIO RTOS and Labvew Real time?

I'm starting a project in which I have a low rate stream of data to read in a real time environment. I should store these data on a network hard disk without any PC with standard OS, I just have CompactRIO RTOS. How can I send this data to the network drive? Is it possible to just “write” data like I do for a standard file in LabView?

you have to keep in mind that normally the RT OS does not map drives other than the Compact Flash that it has onboard (C:\). There are exceptions such as
-cFP-20xx which may have additional Flash Drives which can be addressed as D:\ Drive
-CVS systems with IEEE-1394 interface can write/read to Firewire external Harddrives
-PXI Controllers booted from a Floppy disk may map the floppy drive as A:\
One solution to your needings may be to write data to files locally on your onboard CompactFlash and then transfer these files to a network location using FTP, provided the network drive you are pointing to supports FTP.

Vista and VPN Client Troubles

Hello. We are evaluating Windows Vista along with the VPN Client version 5.0.01.0600. Many of our VPN users are reporting that they are experiencing problems connecting VPN to the ASA 5520 firewall. We are experiencing the same problems with error such as "Reason 418: Unable to configure the firewall software." Also in the client's log we see:

Invalid concentrator firewall configuration.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem and is there a workaround? Thanks in advance.

Fyi - I ended up opening up a TAC case for this (SR 606571713) and received the following information from the engineer:

Mapping Drive using Java

currently I'm using windows scripting to map a drive. However, I would like to change to using java program to map a drive. Is there any method or class that I can use to map drive???

The reason I interrupted the question the way I did is because I was give sreepriyar the benefit of the doubt, even though we seem to have a large percentage of inept posters. The all should read something like http://perl.plover.com/Questions.html before posting their first question.
Funny thing is, even if sreepriyar where to clarify the question at this point, even if he meant it the way you interrupted question, to save face which way do you think sreepriyar would now say he meant the question? :)

How streaming an audio or video files from google drive using google api objective-c client?

I have implemented streaming an audio or video files by mpmovieplayer from Dropbox. For this purpose I am using Dropbox sdk. Audio or video files are playing with no problem from dropbox in my app.
But, I can not implement the same functionality from Google drive. I am using alternateLink,webcontentLink,EmbedLink,Exportlink that we get from google drive. But mpmovieplayer does not play audio or video. So how can get any link from google drive,by which i can streaming an audio or video file from google drive. I have listed all google drive files in a table view. I am using google api objective-c client. So please help me. Thanks in advance.

I understand that you're working on a way to help moving back files to google drive. Actually, I can copy / paste, but it always renames the files, so I end up with both a "copy of" and my original file.
could you save and overwite the original file when it already exists ? (perhaps an option in the settings) ?

Using OS X and VPN ?

Has anyone successfully used a hardware VPN router i.e. Netgear FVS318, etc and the VPN client in OS X ? If so, how did you setup the client in OS X ?

I'm equally interested in trying to set up VPN on a Netgear FVS314 or FVS114 (4-LAN port version). I downloaded the manuals for each and the VPN setup seems the same (each can be set up for 8 VPN tunnels).
The "port-forwarding" information in the first posted reply is not helpful. The whole purpose of VPN is to avoid port forwarding and allow a secure connection that acts as if it were on the local network.
The Netgear manuals don't seem to refer to the setting that are available in Internet Config or System Preferences - Network?

Can I backup an External Hard Drive using Time Machine and Time Capsule?

I have a Powerbook G4 with Mac OS X 10.5.2 and use an external hard drive *all the time*. I'd like to use Time Machine and my new 500GB Time Capsule to back it up along with the internal hard drive. Can I do this? Thanks for your help.
