Mapping macro dynamics

Hi- I've been trying to find the mapping macro dynamics tool used by Steve Horelick in his Logic 401 Mastering Tutorial ( MacProvideo) tutorial no 24.
He uses it to map-in the dynamic shape of his song in the Arrange window ( audio track) before using automation to actually alter the dynamics - in his tutorial the frame is red, but I suspect the colour can be personally chosen.
This seems like a really neat, time-saving function but I just can't find it ............ ring any bells ?
Thanks, SeaDream

I can do a screen shot of the tutorial, I think, but not sure how to get it here. It'll be JPEG.
He doesn't say where to get it from in that tutorial, he just places the pointer in the lower half of the track and it has a circle with a cross inside and clicks, then he goes up to the top of ther track and does th same and then the red line appears.
I thought it could be the Marquee Tool so I played around with this but couldn't create the same.

  • Oracle Audit SMF records (z/OS) / where are the mapping macros for SMAAUD?

    hi all,
    i'm searching unsuccessfully for the mapping macros describing the SMAAUD field content of the Oracle Audit SMF Records.
    does anybody have experience with analyzing the Oracle Audit SMF records?
    best regards
    stephen

    Art,
    The external tables are tricky because if you make one trivial mistake when describing the records (such as a wrong field length or type), the end result will be that the query against the FT will return no errors, but there will be zero or some weard number of records returned. I suggest to check again the record description and to try to select from the external table (after it is deployed) from SQL plus.
    Also, when configuring the flat file in OWB you can define the log file that will trace FT creation errors during deployment and a Bad file name that will direct the database to write records not fitting into the FT definition to the location specified in 'Bad file name'.
    These configuration parameters can be of help when struggling with the issues mentioned above.

  • LMS 3.2 on Solaris 10 - CatOS PVlan Mapping commands to MSFC not being saved by Ciscoworks

    Hi All,
    We are doing some troubleshooting after the recovery of a Cat6500 Hybrid switch and we've encoutered something strange. It seems that Ciscoworks does not save the pvlan mapping statements applied to the MSFC (module 15 in this case). Below I have two excerpts. The first one is from an export of the latest saved config of a similar device. The other one is from the actual same switch.
    Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks

    This command shows non-default configurations only.
    Use 'write terminal all' to show both default and non-default configurations.

    Also a View Config Raw from Device Center shows configuration up to module 10, completely missing modules 11, 12 and 15 (pvlan mappings to the MSFC).

    Salut,
Merci

  • Best Quality Importing

    I am a high-end audio user and would like to know which format should I use to import my high resolution CDs. I shunned MP3 players for a long time because I was told they truncate files to fit and that ultimately sounds horrible upon playback on a killer audio system such as the Levinson I use.
    I read "iTunes help" but am still not sure which format (AIFF, WAV, AAC, Apple Lossless) to use for the best reproduced, uncompromised sound. I'm not concerned with disc space as I am with sound. I imported using AAC and I could hear on my car audio system that the bass was bloated and the treble dry. It sucked and that was in my truck using only its decent stock system.
    Taking the advice of an Apple salesman, I re-imported a known recording using a WAV format and it was so much better but still not the same as an actual CD in depth and dynamics. (I did a comparo in my truck using the iPod and my CD player). Something is not right here.
    Could it be the cable connection to my iPod as I am using the headphone jack to my car audio AUX input? Would using the iPod's docking connection on its bottom to the back of the radio clear this up? I get conflicting advice at the Apple store and a vague answer using iTunes "help."
    After using MIT cable for many years, I know cables and their connections make a big difference in sound but at the iPod's level, would this matter?
    I don't want to use a custom setting where the computer will add or subtract any info from the recording. I want all of what's on the disc to end up on the iPod, no more no less. I want to get this right before I import the thousand's of songs I have in my library. It would be a drag to have to do it all over again as my Powerbook is as slow as a snail and it is cranky too.

    I developed an ear for sound for the years I have been listening. When I fire up my home audio system, there is nothing but smoothness, effortlessness, wide and deep soundstaging, good micro and macro dynamics etc. All combine to a relaxing and involving exerience which becomes mroe obvious after I listening to my iPod.
    I have read the compelling arguments for and against certain formats and on paper it might mean they should pass the music on w/o degrading or changing it. I use my ear as a guide. The iPod sounds cupped or hollow. Years ago jitter was the big problem in audio until FIFO (First In First Out) was developed by Levinson. I found that leaving the CD as it is w/o introducing any anomaly upon playback is key. I finesse the cables and components later until it sounds "there."
    A few years ago I read an article in Stereophile about a test of the iPod's settings for recording and playback, exactly what we are discussing here. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what settings they recommended but they felt the unit came close to really good sound. It's low price relative to the hideously expensive high end market, compelled the reviewer to give the iPod a higher rating and a recommendation. The reviewer largely used his acute sense of hearing for his critique and compared his results to known equipment in A/B testing. Again I cannot recall what cables and connection he chose, but the iPod has improved since then and so has iTunes software which I felt would solidify my purchase decision toward MP3s.
    I went to the Alpine website and found they do not have a cable to support the data link port in the new Classic. So for now, I have to deal with the trippy sounding recordings if the cable is the culprit.
    The older the CD medium gets, the more it seems to hold up to newer technologies such as what is inside an iPod. This is ironic because the CD was never originally designed to sound amazing, just to be more convenient over LP. Today, it really does sound good for its paltry 16/44. When I can get them, I purchase only labels like "Telarc" and "Chesky" etc., who are fanatical about the recording process and it really pays off with great sound. That's what I want in my iPod.
    It's taken 20+ years to get the big companies to come up with a better sounding disc and I hope not another 20 to fix the iPod.

  • Dynamics AX schema TrvPBSMaindataService issue with map

    I have the following schemas generated by the WSDL from a Dynamics AX web service. The node TrvPBSMaindataServiceCreateRequest is the request which contains TrvPBSMaindata. BizTalk map cannot use the reference, since TrvPBSMaindata has a child node with
    the same name. I tried to create a separate schema for TrvPBSMaindata and use it without success. I noticed when you change the elementFormDefault="qualified"  to unqualified, you can see the node properly, but it does not add the prefix and
    fail in AIF: schema not well formatted. I tired to "inject the prefix using xsl". This is where I am now struggling...any thoughs?

    Hello RizaGrace,
    Thank you for your Interest in Azure.
    1. What exactly do you mean when you say 'best storage option', do you mean where will the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server instances reside?
    There are two topologies of deploying Dynamics NAV on Azure. You can refer to this article that will give you information on 'Network Topologies for Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Windows Azure':
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn168979(v=nav.70).aspx
    Also refer to the article that wil give you inforamtion on 'Planning and Preparing for Deploying on Windows Azure':
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn168978(v=nav.70).aspx
    These are the example scripts for Deploying Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Windows Azure:

  • Creating a macro for export to excel using a custom map

    Hi all
    I've created a custom map to export a custom table to excel, which works. Then tried to create a macro to do this export for me and it was stopped on the 'File; Save As' part of the export (almost the very beginning)
    Looking for suggestions for best practises or anything to watch out for when creating a macro to export (or any help in general in this area...books, etc)
    Using MSP 2010 (Pro)...we have server but I was attempting this as a stand-alone project
    Thanks in advance for your response
    Shelleyb MCTS

    Firstly make sure you have SP2 installed. Then try recording a macro of you manually saving to Excel with a pre-saved map. Compare the recorded code and your code.

  • How does the .h file macro map to CVICALLBACK control parameter?

    I created 8 command buttons and created same callback for all the buttons. Also have a 2x4 array initialized to value of 1. When user clicks any button the 2x4 array value should change to 0 (as command button does not change value to 1 when selected). In order to fill the array I thought of using control from CVICALLBACK.
    int ctr_btns[2][4] = {{1,1,1,1},
                                            {1,1,1,1}};
    int CVICALLBACK Button_cb (int panel, int control, int event,
    void *callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2)
      int row = -1;
        int val = 1;
    switch (event)
    case EVENT_COMMIT:
                         GetCtrlVal (panelHandle, control, &val);
                          if(control >= 2 && control <= 5)
                                    row = 0;
                          else if(control >= 6 && control <= 9)
                                       row = 1;
                          else if(control >= 10 && control <= 13)
                                        row = 2;
                           else
                                         row = 3;
                            ctr_btns[row][control] = val;
                       break;
    The issue is that even after I changed the #define value of the control in .h file, it does not uses the defined value. Where is the control parameter value coming from?
    TIA.

    Hi, this is a common isue that has been discussed several times on the forums and does not have a fast response.
    First of all, you should not modify the include file associated to the UIR file, as stated on top of it, since the system automatically regenerates it every time it saves the UIR. Additionally, the ID assigned to the controls depends on the tab order you define on the panel, so it is subject to change. FYI, this is a discussion on this subject that you may want to read: as you can see, it originates from a question very similar to yours.
    Despite what I have said, control IDs actually can be used to discriminate between controls, so in your situation, and provided the buttons are assigned a progressive ID with the tab editor (Ctrl+T on the panel and assign the IDs clicking on the controls), your code could be rewritten this way:
    if(control >= PANEL_BUTTON1 && control <= PANEL_BUTTON4)
    row = 0;
    else if(control >= PANEL_BUTTON5 && control <= PANEL_BUTTON8)
    row = 1;
    else if(control >= PANEL_BUTTON9 && control <= PANEL_BUTTON12)
    row = 2;
    else
    row = 3;
    For the same reason, you cannot use 'control' as an index on the array, as you have no possibility to foreseen the ID value. That is, even if rewritten the way I told you, that code is not likely to work...
    In my opinion the correct way of discriminating between controls is to add a switch inside the callback:
    switch (control) {
    case PANEL_BUTTON1: ctr_btns[0][0] = 1; break;
    case PANEL_BUTTON2: ctr_btns[0][1] = 1; break;
    case PANEL_BUTTON5: ctr_btns[1][0] = 1; break;
    ( but you should create a 4x4 array of values).
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Is it possible to define macros for Safari 6?

    I'd like to define a macro that will do the following in Safari 6 (1) remove all cookies, (2) delete the history and (3) empty the cache. I'd like to run this macro at any time when Safari is open. Is it possible to automate this?

    Where is the value of that variable coming from?
    The simplest way to implement a global variable in a database is to create a table that stores the value and have all the code reference that value.
    INSERT INTO tab2( x1, x2, x3, y )
      SELECT tab1.x1, tab1.x2, tab1.x3, global_variable_table.VARIABLE
        FROM tab1, global_variable_table
    WHERE <<some condition>>
    You can also create session-level variables using either package variables or session contexts, though that may cause a few problems for three tier applications that don't cleanly map user sessions to database sessions.
    INSERT INTO tab2( x1, x2, x3, y )
      SELECT tab1.x1, tab1.x2, tab1.x3, SYS_CONTEXT( 'MY_CONTEXT', 'MY_VARIABLE' )
        FROM tab1
    WHERE <<some condition>>or
    INSERT INTO tab2( x1, x2, x3, y )
      SELECT tab1.x1, tab1.x2, tab1.x3, pkg_variables.get_variable_y()
        FROM tab1
    WHERE <<some condition>>Justin

  • MS dynamics crm 2011 edit xml of chart to get count of Won vs ALL opportunities

    Dear Support Team,
    We are currently working on a dashboard for our on-premise CRM dynamics 2011 instance. What we need is to display Won VS ALL opportunities of a certain account manager. I have tried exporting one of the default chart in CRM which is the Won Deals VS Lost
    Deals. I have modified the XML to get the COUNT of opportunity number for WON and LOST deals instead of  the SUM of revenue. Now, i have imported the modified xml content and was able to import it successfully. Upon checking the chart data, it shows the
    same count for WON and LOST records which is incorrect. How do i able to correct this. Please refer below to the xml codes i have imported. Looking forward to any help. Thank you.

    You'll need to create a filter for each of your two series in the xml.
    This blog post describes the process
    for filtering invididual series within the chart xml.

  • Read Filename form Adapter-Specific Message Attributes in Java Mapping

    Hi,
    I have scenario File to Mail adapter. How can i read filename from Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
    in java mapping.
    Thank you and Best regards
    Fernand

    Hello Fernand,
    Are u using DOM or SAX parser?
    In any case just put the Dynamic config code in the execute function or the other option is to define it as a private functionand call it in the execute,My personal advice would be the former.
    Just put this code in ur java mapping
    As fellow sdn ers have mentioned there is no need of the container method,just initialise the set param method and use it in the dynamice config code as follows
    public class YourClass implements StreamTransformation
         private Map map;
    public void setParameter(Map param)
         map = param;
    public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out) throws StreamTransformationException
                   DynamicConfiguration conf =(DynamicConfiguration) map.get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
                   DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME =DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    // read value
    File = conf.get(KEY_FILENAME);
    Now just call File in the mapping program,
    Should help u out

  • Bing "Map It" not showing up in any window accept when imputing a contact for the first time

    Bing's "Map It" function that is supposed to be present in office 2013 through emails is not... ive tried many different tests trying to input the addresses in different formats and there is no ability to get a map to the location. Maybe i am
    just missing something? Also i was wondering if there is a way to get the "map it" function to work through the calender? It would be ideal if i could pull maps up when looking at an event that i have scheduled (all my events include the address
    of each job as they are scheduled jobs for my employees).

    bing maps link only displays in Outlook 2013 (or OWA) if an address is detected in the message. This only works if you have an Exchange 2013 email account.
    Map it button is in contacts and works with all accounts.
    If you want to have a map link in the calendar, you need to use VBA. I have a sample macro at
    http://www.slipstick.com/developer/use-vba-to-map-a-contacts-address/ that maps contacts using different services. It could easily be changed to map appointments (which i think
    i will do next).

  • Trouble sending messages to Dynamics AX: Element is not declared.

    I'm having problems getting Dynamics AX to accept a message from BizTalk.
    Here's my setup:
    AX 2012:
    A table, BTAIF_test, with two fields ("Name" and "Phone").
    A query, BTAIFQuery, with BTAIF_test as datasource.
    A service, BTAIFQueryService, autogenerated by the AX AIF Wizard, registered and deployed on
    An inbound port, BTAIF, using net.tcp.
    BizTalk:
    An incoming schema, generated from a simple XML file containing a name and a phone number.
    An outgoing schema, generated by the Consume WCF Service wizard.
    A map, mapping the two value fields from the incoming to the outgoing schema.
    A receive port, using a receive location with FILE transport to pick up the incoming message, and using XMLReceive pipeline
    A send port, using the previously mentioned map, and WCF-NetTcp configured with my AX service address and a simple soap header pointing at the create method of the service. It uses the XMLTransmit pipeline.
    When I drop a message in the receive location I get the following message in the Exception log of AX:
    "Invalid document schema. The following error was returned:
    The 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/dynamics/2008/01/documents/BTAIFQuery:BTAIFtest_1' element is not declared."
    The send port has a backup FILE transport, and this is what the message looks like when it dumps it there:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ns0:BTAIFQuery xmlns:ns0="http://schemas.microsoft.com/dynamics/2008/01/documents/BTAIFQuery"
    xmlns:st="http://schemas.microsoft.com/dynamics/2008/01/sharedtypes">
    <ns0:BTAIFtest_1 class="entity">
    <ns0:Name>John Hancock</ns0:Name>
    <ns0:Phone>555-123-4567</ns0:Phone>
    </ns0:BTAIFtest_1>
    </ns0:BTAIFQuery>
    Any pointers as to what I'm doing wrong here? I've been searching for information on the net and either nobody's doing this or it's so easy nobody cares to write about it. I'm hoping it's the latter and I'm just making some stupid mistake.

    From the above output I think the AxdExtType_Name, AxdExtType_Phone and AxdEnum_AxdEntityAction are defined as simple type in BTAIF_schemas_microsoft_com_dynamics_2008_01_sharedtypes.xsd, so the above output is correct as per this schema. Recheck if the
    format of schema is correct so that AX can accept it.
    Yes, they're defined as simple types, here's the relevant definitions from sharedtypes.xsd:
    <xs:simpleType name="AxdExtType_Name">
    <xs:annotation>
    <xs:documentation xml:lang="EN-US">Name:Name.</xs:documentation>
