Mapping of CAN and CVE to Oracle CPU

There is a page on OTN that maps public security vulnerability findings (CANs and CVEs) to Oracle CPUs. The page states that it includes all CPUs up to January 2008. However, it appears the table has not been updated since January 2007.
Here is a link to the page:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/critical-patch-updates/public_vuln_to_advisory_mapping.html

There have been no vulnerability fixes released against open source products via Critical Patch Updates for over one year. The table is up to date. There have been many Critical Patch Update fixes for proprietary software, of course, but we do not reference CVE entries in this or any other documentation for proprietary software vulnerabilities.

    Your Oracle Linux system should be configured to automatically install packages either from the Unbreakable Linux Network or public-yum.oracle.com. You might want to ask your Linux sysadmin for assistance if your servers aren't already configured for updates.
    You can also check Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the Oracle Linux Administrator's Guide for more details on using ULN or public-yum: Oracle® Linux (it's for OL6 but the concepts are the same for OL5).

    hello apple guys, after installing OS X Mavericks, i can't open app store, reminders, contacts, mail(crash), maps, Image Capture, and other apps that comes with Mavericks OS, how i can solve this problem?

    So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac".  I really, really miss Steve Jobs!

    Yes! By all means, you can.
    You will just have to install Oracle under different directories for different versions and set the ORACLE_HOME accordingly.

    I've had this happen a few times before. What I found works is repairing the permissions. To do so click on go and then to utilities. click disk utilities. In disk utilities select the drive and click repair permissions. It may take a little time but try accessing after that.

    Hello,
    Are you talking about placing Google map in Mobile page created in Muse ? If yes you can do this by either using "Google Map Widget" or by placing " Embedded code" created at any map site.
    Here are the detailed steps for the same :

  • Fun and games installing Oracle ...

    For various reasons we still use Oracle 8.1.7.4 on Solaris 8 (yes yes I know ... it was the version that Noah used to run the Ark but I am stuck with it so please no suggestions about upgrading :-) )
    I decided to attempt to install Oracle 8.1.7.4 on a Sol 8 branded zone running on a Solaris 10 10/09 host from CD.
    Configured the zone to "see" the cdrom :
    # zonecfg -z s8-zone
    zonecfg:s8-zone>add device
    zonecfg:s8-zone>set dir=/cdrom
    zonecfg:s8-zone>set special=/cdrom
    zonecfg:s8-zone>set type=lofs
    zonecfg:s8-zone>set options=[nodevices]
    zonecfg:s8-zone>end
    And then bounced the zone
    Excellent ... Saw the CD, mounted it and then ran runInstaller and stated the Oracle installation ...
    All went well until I needed to change the CD. At which point the damn thing would NOT eject, whether from the runInstaller, the zone or the global,
    "eject" failed with "device busy", a bent paper-clip in the small hole ... everything failed. SO I aborted the installation and went to plan B
    Made a pair of ISOs from the two CDs and copied them across to the branded zone ....
    Firstly had to give the zone access to lofi:
    add device
    set match=/dev/lofictl
    end
    add device
    set match=/dev/lofi/*
    end
    add device
    set match=/dev/rlofi/*
    end
    and bounced the zone ...
    Now I tried (within the zone) to mount the images ..
    # lofiadm -a `pwd`/oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso
    lofiadm: could not map file /appc/oracle8_iso/oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso: Invalid argument
    Hmm ...
    # file oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso
    oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso: commands text
    Not good
    Quick check in the global:
    # file /sol8zone1-zones/sol8zone/root/appc/oracle8_iso/oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso
    /sol8zone1-zones/sol8zone/root/appc/oracle8_iso/oracle.8.1.7.4.disk1.iso: ISO 9660 filesystem image
    Looks as if lofiadm is not recognizing the ISO .....
    At which point on Friday I gave up, went home and thither to the pub .....
    Any clues to proceed with either Plan A or Plan B ????
    P

    Hmm, a wild guess here is that the lofi interface is rather kernel specific, so that the SunOS 5.8 lofiadm can't understand a SunOS 5.10 lofi device.. Which would cause the rather wierd lofiadm messages.
    Can you mount the ISO from the global zone? I.e:
    global# lofiadm -a /path/to/some/file.iso
    global# mount -F hsfs /dev/lofi/1 /zones/<<zone>/mnt
    Or was that something which only worked for LX branded zones..?

  • Oracle CPU question with 11.5.10 CU2

    Just a general question. First time trying to apply an Oracle CPU and in this case applying the July 2010 CPU to our Test E-biz 11.5.10 CU2 RUP7 install.
    My configuration is RH Linux ES 4.8 with a 10.2.0.4 database server running admin, db and CCM services and then an app server running forms and web services.
    I'm referring to "Oracle E-Business Suite Releases 11i and 12 Critical Patch Update Knowledge Document (July 2010) [ID 986534.1]" and then the subsequent articles that follow that.
    My questions are:
    Q1. My database level is currently 10.2.0.4. It would appear my steps are first update Opatch (no problem there).
    Then apply 9032412.
    Then it looks like I apply either CPU Patch 9655017, or PSU Patch 9654991.
    But PSU 9654991 REQUIRES PRE-REQUISITE 10.2.0.4.4 so I can't apply that right?
    I will apply 9655017 instead and will that get me to 10.2.0.4.5?
    Q2. My configuration is DB Tier with CCM and an app Tier running forms, reports as mentioned.
    Do I have to worry about the Fusion Middle-ware stuff?
    Q3. Patches to apply to E-Business Suite.
    Looks like 9578142 applies to my environment.
    Check the pre-reqs to ensure I have anything that needs to be applied first.
    Then depending on what modules we use or have installed (does it make a difference) I'll apply subsequent patches say for 'Financials'.
    Q3. Anything else I need to consider? We are patching Test first and when done if it's all good we'll schedule Prod.
    I realize this is a pretty generic question. My main uncertainty is on the db 10.2.0.4 patch and if the 965517 will get me to 102045 or not.
    Update - My first patch is giving me the OUI-67620 superset error which I believe is telling me the new patch contains all the fixes from the existing patch so ok to proceed. Right?
    ApplySession adding interim patch '9032412' to inventory
    Verifying the update...
    Inventory check OK: Patch ID 9032412 is registered in Oracle Home inventory with proper meta-data.
    Files check OK: Files from Patch ID 9032412 are present in Oracle Home.
    The local system has been patched and can be restarted.
    The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:

  • Save map as image and print it out

    Hello everybody,
    I have some problems with saving map as image and also printing it out. I am using mapview.getMapAsXML("GIF_URL") to get XML request but I don't really know how to send this request to OMServer and retrieve response as image!
    About map printing. I am following Oracle example to print map ("http://starbucks.infotech.com.tr/mapviewer/fsmc/tutorial/samples/mapPrint.html"), but get such error: "Request string is too long for Oracle Maps' non-AJAX remoting.".
    Could you please help with map saving and printing?
    Thank you in advance.

    I've solved this problem using following way:
    1. Get the map XML request:
    h6. xml_request = mapview.getMapAsXML("GIF_URL");
    2. Send this request to the OMServer using AJAX:
    h6. ...
    h6. nocache = Math.random();
    h6. var params = 'xml_request=' + xml_request + '&nocache = ' + nocache;
    h6. http_request.open ( 'post', 'http://solaris:7001/mapviewer/omserver', true );
    h6. ...
    3. Process the response:
    h6. ...
    h6. response = http_request.responseText;
    h6. url = response.substring ( response.indexOf ( '<map_content url="' )+18 );
    h6. url = url.substring ( 0, url.indexOf ( '"' ) );
    h6. ...
    So, you have url of you image in GIF format. Now you can print it out or save to disk...
    Maybe it is not correct way but it works fine!

  • Can Peoplesoft HCM 9.2 can be integrated with Oracle HR Analytics?

    Hi All,
    Please help me understand if Peoplesoft HCM 9.2 can be integrated with Oracle HR Analytics? If so what is the latest Version  for that.
    What is the road map for that.
    Thanks in Advance
    J Smith

    Normally, Oracle will lag behind in certifying the latest PSoft releases...however, we are using OBIA 7964 with PSoft FSCM 9.2 using the 9.1 SDE adaptors.  It seems to work fine.  In general, its best to ensure the version is certified but you can ask Oracle support if the 9.1 adaptor can be used for 9.2 HCM.  If there are not significant structural changes for the tables in PSoft, it may work.  As for the dates for certification, Oracle would have to assist with that.  We have asked about FSCM 9.2 4 months ago and it is still not certfied.
    Pls mark correct...

    My application is read-and-write-intensive. Which tool is most suitable for this application?

    I would pick Hibernate mainly because of its popularity and wide knowledge base.
    Coherence has provided some documentation for the integration.
