Mapping of item decision points to PS Network/WBS

Hi,
In PPM 5.0, one of the new features introduced is the mapping of decision points to a PS Network or WBS element. In the configuration map item template to PS, we have the option of choosing the item type and a project definition. The first question that arise is, what are the pre-requisites. I press new entries, enter the item type. In the F1 for PS project it says to enter the field PSPR from the table PROJ. The project system module is in a different system. I have created the RFC destination for the system and in the definition of object links, I have mapped that system for both account assignment WBS element and Network. But the system is unable to fetch the project system project for mapping. Could someone explain the procedure for doing this, as it is not clear from the IMG help?

I checked the configuration guide.
In the IMG
Portfolio Independent settings -> Item template to PS project, under sub menu
Item template to PS project
Create new entries
Item template ID (chosen item template)
Object type : By default it shows 0INMPSPD
As per the configuration guide, "You must determine the SAP ERP system to be used for integration into PS by choosing an entry in the object type column". I do not see an appropriate entry for sAP ERP system even though I have created the logical system and RFC destination for the SAP ERP system in which PS resides.
Could some one help me out by guiding how to get the above setting done?

DFM Setup - Project Phase to Item Decision Point

Hi Folks,
I am trying to setup a one way status sync from Project Phase to Item DP (i.e. status is only managed in cProjects and should sync to Item DP).
I have done the following config.
1. Defined Portfolio Item Types and mapped Item DP to Template Phases
2. Maintained Phase to DFM business transaction in IMG Map Project / Initiative Business Transaction to DFM Business Transaction
3. Maintained DFM to Item DP mapping in IMG Map DFM Business Transaction to Portfolio Management Status
4. Under IMG Map Business Transactions for Synchronization I added a couple additional business transactions that I needed for Source PPCP and Target PPODP.
Examples entries of the above config for are as follows. This is to change the mapped DP status to 'For Approval' when clicking "Begin Approval" in cProjects phase
Map Project / Initiative Business Transaction to DFM Business Transaction
Source Grouping - PPCP Project Phase
Target Grouping - PPODP Portfolio Item Decision Point
Source Bus Transacction - DX11 Begin Approval of Phase
DFM Bus Transaction - IX05 Set 'To Be Approved'
Map DFM Business Transaction to Portfolio Management Status
Target Grouping - PPODP Portfolio Item Decision Point
Source Grouping - PPCP Phase (Project Management)
DFM Bus Transaction - IX05 Set 'To Be Approved'
Portf Mgmt Status - Z0006 For Approval (custom status that I created for Item DP)
With the above config when I begin the approval in cProjects, the mapped item DP is not updated. I have ensure that the next status of the DP is configured accordingly.
Appreciate any ideas on how to get this working.

It looks like the issue is because when "beginning approval" cProjects status is "For Approval - Released",which means 2 status are active and the DFM business transaction does not trigger.
Wondering if anybody has the issue where cProjects has 2 active status and the subsequent statuses does not trigger DFM transaction.

Initiative Item Decision Point

Is any way can we use Decision points on Initiative or Item approval process either similar to cProject Phase approval process or regardless of Decision point status management process?

Hi Diana,
Yes. You can approve (change the status) a Decision Point, similar to the Phase approval process. This can be done by DFM - Decision Flow Management. Once this is switched on for 'Status Synchronization' , each and every status change in the Phase can in turn trigger the corresponding status change in the Decision Point.

After moving shared profiles to Windows 7/32 Pro PC, I can't access them from XP box mapped to the profile share (P:\Profiles...) after editing profiles.ini to point to the network share. I can edit files in the profile directory from XP.

Previous configuration: Shared profiles located at D:\profiles\ on PC1 (XP Pro SP3). 2nd PC (PC2 also XP Pro SP3) mapped to \\PC1\Profiles via mapped drive P: and using absolute reference in profiles.ini on PC2. Remote profiles work OK on PC2.
New PC added (PC7) to eventually replace PC1 (Windows 7/32 Pro). Profiles moved to D:\Profiles on that box. Firefox and Thunderbird work fine on PC7 with the local profiles. Profiles.ini edited on PC1 to point to the network share and will not access the remote profiles. Access permissions are set to full for everyone. I can write and edit to files in the profile directories from PC1.
I tried adding a profile with the profile manager and tried to force it to use the network share, but it still located the new profile down in the default directory ...\application data\Mozilla\Firefox\

Well, try this (I was able to fix my with these steps):
Go Utilities > Disk Utility
Select your Startup Disk, e.g. Macintosh HD
Then, under the First Aid Tab, click Verify Disk Permissions.
If there are errors, then click repair Disk Permissions.
After it is done, restart the computer and see if your problem is resolved.

Item search based on decision point status

hi,
i am trying add items to a review. i want to add only those items which are in a particular status of a decision point. Currently, i could not find any option in Add-> search when i am in review screen. Can there be any configuration through which i can get this or is this going to be a development.

I don't think there is any configuration to achieve this. Alternatively you can create a custom search help and configure it.

How to multiple layers in the MAP web item?

Hi experts,
I'm working on a demo with BWGIS. I encounter several problems with the MAP web item.
My demo:
QA results visualized on global (region object - e.g. Europe, Asia), country (country object) and plant level. Use geo-drilldown to navigate into the lower layers functionality to get from the global view to the countries within one region and plants within one country.
My settings:
Region is a static geo-characteristic. For region I used the cont200.shp file. Also country is a static geo-characteristic, here I used cntry200.shp. For test I used ARCGIS to draw (points) some example plants in the country shape file. I uploaded this shape file to the plant object (also static).
My success:
I'm able to display the QA results in a separate global or country view within the 3.x Web template.
My problems:
A) The map web item in 7.0 does not display any data: it looks like no link can be made between the query result and graphic although we installed the latest IGS.
B) I'm not able to drilldown from a global view to the countries within one region (doubleclick on one region in global view) within the 3.x Analyzer and 3.x Web template.
My first question is about the concept of BWGIS:
1) I want to use geo-drilldown (double-click) to navigate to the lower layers. For example in the global view I see only the QA result per region (shape file of region object) -> doubleclick on Europe, I expect to zoom in to Europe and see the QA results for all the countries in Europe (shape file of country object). How do I modell this in the web application designer?
alt. 1a: 1 map 1 layer - 1 dataprovider - underneath 1 query with region and country in the row is not allowed, so how to navigate between the two geo-relevant objects?
alt. 1b: 1 map - 2 layers (2 shape files) - 2 dataproviders - 2 queries, one with QA result per region and one per country -> in that case both will be displayed at the same time, is not what I want. How to navigate between the two layers?
alt. other ?
2) I know how to make maps with multiple layers in ARCGIS, but do I need this for BWGIS, because one layer is one shape file? So do multiple layers in the map web item correspond to multiple layers in a ESRI ArcMap Document.
More specific questions:
3) Is there a lot of experience with the map web item in 7.0, documentation and working examples? Are there known problems (I can't find anything in sap notes). Is it better to still use the 3.5 Web Application Designer for this?
4) There is very little information on SAP help, SDN and other forums about BEx Map and moreover the MAP web item. Does anyone have more documentation for me?

We have a tab called 'Phases and Decisions' in an item screen. There a table is getting displayed with decision point name, ID, Status and few more fields. I need to find out the corresponding webdynpro for that screen. When i right click and click on more field help, it is giving the component name as SALV_WD_TABLE. But this component can be used for any ALV, now i need to know how the data is getting populated into these fields and possibly how the screen is getting generated. Can anyone help me?

Hello Haritha,
There is generic WD component for all Dashboards,which is identified by the context and the object type. For 'Phase and Decision Point' Dashboard Object Type is PDP and the Parent Object can be RIH (Item) or IPO (Initiative). The WD Component for the same is /RPM/UI_DASHBOARD.

Looking For Help Performing a many point to many network reachability validation with a script after a Major Routing Modification

I have inherited a network that was not put together so well...as it has 50 sites but 11 points of mulual redistribution between OSPF and BGP.
The result is not surprising some route paths that although stable are asymmetrical and they cause issues for certain applications....like Voice and RDP.
This evening I have a maintence window to try to fix this.
I need to validate with ping and traceroute from many points (Cisco Siwtches and Routers) in the to many points in the network.
Can anyone point me to a TCL Shell script that would serve as an example of how to accomplish this?
Please be advised that I am only nominally functional with TCL shell scripting language.

I have no idea abt your process, but you can create new order reason as promotional items and assign to FOC order, you can create sales employee as customer and create FOC with customers ( sales employee).

How do I use Airport Extreme to create wired access point on wireless network?

Bit of an odd situation. I just went from cable to DSL at home and the modem moved from right by my computer to upstairs.
Trouble is, there's no real easy way to get a cable from the modem upstairs to my X-box (sans wireless connector) downstairs.
I could buy the wireless adaptor for the X-Box, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend any more money.
I have my airport extreme, and I was hoping I could use it to create a wired access point on the network, recieving the signal from the wireless modem upstairs and allowing me to plug in the X-Box.
Is this possible? If so, how? I've been through the config panel about a dozen times, but can't figure out what combination to set up.

Will it work if I use the express to create the network?
Yes, providing that you have an 802.11n version of the AirPort Express and the Express has been configured to "Allow this network to be extended".
Then, the AirPort Extreme can be configured to "extend" the Express network. When you do this, the AirPort Extreme will provide more wireless coverage and the LAN Ethernet ports are enabled, so you can connect an Ethernet device.
This will not be a "normal" Ethernet connection. It will only work as well as the wireless "hop" between the Express and Extreme allow.
For best results and performance, a wired connection through the hole in the wall is always best. If you decide to do this, you will need the "new" AirPort Express with both a WAN and LAN port on the device. But, you could try wireless first to see if it will meet your goals before you reach for the tools.

"SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services does not support map report items"

I am trying some new feature that are introduced in SQL Server 2008 R2 version. While I try to use "Map" control within it, it threw the following error:-
"Error 1 The map, Map1, was removed from the report. SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services does not support map report items. "

I think you get this error message when you are deploying a report to report server using BIDS, correct? If not, please provide more details on your scenario :-)
If I guessed correctly, then this message is a result of trying to deploy a map report (a SSRS 2008 R2 feature) to a non-R2 2008 report server. When deploying a report of RDL2010 format to a non-R2 report server, BIDS will downgrade the file to RDL2008 format, so that the non-R2 report server can process it. Any report elements using features not supported in RDL2008 will be dropped during this downgrade process.
BIDS gets the server version from a report project property called TargetServerVersion:

If your report server is indeed the 2008 R2 version, then the TargetServerVersion property should be set to "SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services." The project property page also has a "Auto Detect..." option if you are uncertain about the version of your report server.

Hi Jess,
Have you checked the navigation part which is being displayed on left hand side of report S_ALR_87013565 and S_ALR_87013533.? There you have option to check transaction currency and object currency when you double click on it.
In case if it is not being displayed under navigation. Then you can bring them on from transaction code CJE2. For eg: Report group for S_ALR_87013533 is 12KST1C. Double click on it and it will open up to do changes in report layout and many more. There you also have options to bring on transaction currency too. Similarly, you can check for other report groups as well just by checking the report description.
But I am not sure if suits your requirements. Wait for other experts to comment on this.

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to ask.
Anyway, I'm wondering is there a way to transfer google maps starred items to ovi maps favorites?
I find google maps a lot more efficient and smarter than ovi maps in finding places. The issue is I don't know how to transfer google maps starred items to ovi maps -- so that I can use them for navigation purposes. Somehow, ovi maps favorites are automatically transferred to google maps starred items, but NOT vice versa.
Any helps? Thanks in advance.

From what I have seen, there is no easy way. This is the best I have come across, although it is a link by link job. Just make sure each of your waypoints are centred on Google Maps before ganking the link.
