Mapping of source systems

Dear
Sirs,
The mapping of source system has to be done for myself sourc system also or its enought if we do for sap r/3 source systems is
enought,,,Need your help..
Thanks
Regards
Radha

Hi
If you want to transport objects from quality to production.
You have to map the current source system (i.e here quality SS)  to production SS.
It will be available in RSA1 ---> Tools -
> Conversion of logical system names after transport

    HI Gurus,
    I am working in a implementation project, Recently our BI sand box is up, when i am doing my load from 0comp_code_attr it is throwing an error "Error in code page mapping for source system"(This is my first load from ECC).
    In details tab it is showing as the data is sent from the source system but the data is not reaching to the PSA.
    Please let me know if there are any settings needs to be made.
    Many thanks in Advance

    HI V,
    Thanks for your quick response. I did it but it didn't resolve the issue. since the system id which i am having is 3 digits(LEC) but there it is taking only 2 digits, so i clicked on the button called Propose system ids, it has praposed LE, but the issue is stil there.
    Do we need to do any settings in LBWE??

    Hi All,
    We are Loading data into BI system from MDM System.
    It was loading fine but Yesterday we got an error " Error in code page mapping for Source System"
    Message Class: RSDS_ACCESS 13.
    We alreday tried to Search any IDOCs with error/unprocessed , but there isn't any.
    Any pointers for this error will be Helpful.

    Hi Sandeep,
    This is a issue related to idocsRFC connections from teh sourcesystem....
    U can contact ur BASIS team to solve this...
    From their end they have to chk the unprocessed/errored idocs in BD87...
    They have to run a report:RBDAGAIN to process the errored idoc's in the source which are in STATUS:'02'.
    This is a solution for temporarilrly basis...
    If this occurs regularly they have to change the settings in SM59 which is so important...
    Refer exact note for this: 784381

  • Use BDLS in BI for re-mapping of source system

    Hello,
    Is it possible to use tr code BDLS in BI  in order to automatically change source system assignment in source system related BI objects (such as info sources, info packages..)?
    We have created a new ECC QA client and would like to load data from that to BI (the same BI system as before) and wish to avoid the manual work of manually re-mapping all source system related objects.
    In the thread below the conclusion was that it's possible to use BDLS, but when executing it in test mode and looking at the affected tables, only the parter profiles and EDI-related tables seems to be modified with a new LSN (logical system name). However, I could not find a change in tables containing f.ex. info sources etc.
    Fresh source system clients in production BW system
    Is there anyway of doing this without manually re-mapping the BI objects?
    Thanks,

    Thanks!
    When running a LSN conversion in BI from source OLTP to target OLTP in test mode and then checking some BI-object tables, I see that the logical system name is changed, so it's seems to me as if the infosources are changed.. (or?)
    However, perhaps a transport in "system copy" mode is preferrable (?) In step 2, do you mean that I should first collect a system copy in a transport request and then collect "everything before" in the same transport request?
    Any comments on BDLS, Patrick?

  • Mapping of Source System Names

    Hello,
    Has some body done the mapping of Source System for <b>"Transport"</b> to go through which is done using the following steps:
    RSA1 --> Tools --> Mapping of Source System Names(Conversion of source system name after transport)
    You have to enter the source system name and target source source.
    So if I have following Landscape
    1) R3DEV  -> R3QA --> R3QPROD --> R3Prod
    2) BWDEV  -> BWQA  --> BWQPROD --> BWPROD.
    What should be entries in the table
      OrSource           TargSrceSy
    1) R3DEV             R3QA
    2) R3DEV             R3QPROD
    3) R3DEV             R3Prod
    4) BWDDEV            BWQA
    Thanks,
    -Hari
    5) BWDDEV            BWQPROD
    6) BWDDEV            BWPROD
    or
    1) R3DEV             R3QA
    2) R3QA              R3QPROD
    3) R3QPROD           R3Prod
    4) BWDDEV            BWQA
    5) BWQA              BWQPROD
    6) BWQPROD           BWPROD

    Thanks A.H.P. So just a click clarification. My question is
    So BWQPROD will contian
    <b>OrSource     TargSrceSy</b>
       R3DEV        R3QPROD
    <b>OR</b>
       R3QA          R3QPROD.
    Because my basis the transport path is as shown below.
       R3DEV --> R3QA
       R3DEV --> R3QRPOD
       R3DEV --> R3PROD
    So dev will transport to QA,QPROD,PROD
    Thanks,
    -Hari

  • Source System in BI

    Hello All
    I have following questions related to Source system in BI. RSA1 --> Source Ssytem
    1) We have following source system connection
      BI (DEV)  BWDCLNT400 ---> ECDCLNT400,
      BI (QA)     BWQCLNT400   --> ECQCLNT400  and
      BI (PROD)   BWPCLNT400  --> ECPCLNT400.
    I would like to know to manage DTP / Info Packages / Data Source because all these are tied up with source system and we have different names in DEV, QA and PROD ? Is there any way, I can change the source system name after the import steps in BI ?
    2) One way to answer my questions is to have a generic names likes BISYS400, as the name of the source system in BI , that points as follows, to different source system on ECC side
      BI (DEV)  BISYS400 ---> ECDCLNT400,
      BI (QA)    BISYS400 ---> ECQCLNT400,
      BI (PROD) BISYS400 ---> ECPCLNT400,
    What is preferred from above whether step 1 or step 2 ?
    3. when we create a source system ECDCLNT400 in BI, I don;t know why it is getting created within "BI" node, under the source system, I know for sure I got selected the code "SAP", before I create source system within BI. How would I move my source system ECDCLNT400, from BI node SAP node with Source system ?
    3. Do I need to create the info packages and DTP manually in each region like DEV, QA and PROD again or can I import these Info Package / DTP from QA / PROD ?
    Thanks
    BI

    Hi
    1. If iam not wrong my understanding with your question is when you trasnport  the Objects from DEV to QA
    how the Infosource names will be changed. If that is the problem we need to maintain the Conversion for this Origin an Target systems after transport
    in RSA1 - Tools-Mapping of source System names : hope this automatically leads to the tcode RSLGMP
    for you
    Origin Source System     Target Source System
    BI (DEV) BWDCLNT400  -BI (QA) BWQCLNT400
    2. For the Source system to be moved from one node SAP to BI , i dont think so u will be able to move that,
    3. All the objects can be transported from DEV to QA and then to PROD or you cna create as required in the different systems

  • Prevent objects being transported for Sandpit source system

    Hi there,
    We have a 3-tier systems landscape for BI: DEV, QAS, PRD (we do not have a sandpit BI). In our R/3 development system we habe two clients which are both setup as source system for BI DEV. One of the clients in R/3 DEV serves as sandpit in that system and objects can't be transported from it. However, since this client is connected to BW, objects related to this source system can be transported from BI DEV. We want to prevent that, so only the objects in BW DEV for the real R/3 DEV development client are allowed.
    Is there a way in BI to configure a source system in such a way (other than via security roles/profiles), that objects related to this source system can't be transported?
    Cheers.

    Sander, you should post this in BASIS also. By posting in both the forums, you have a better chance.
    In case BASIS folks say that they cannot stop this, try this work-around.
    In BWQ, in RSA1, there is a Source System Mapping in one of the tools menu. There, your DEV is mapped to QAS, etc.
    There, you may have your R/3 DEV mapped to R/3 QAS.
    See if there is an entry for your R/3 Sandpit/Sandbox. If there is one, leave the mapping for it as Blank.
    See, the only Objects that are related to Source System in BW are InfoSource-DataSources. If there is no mapping for SOurce System in BWQ, then the transport will fail.
    This is just a thought.

  • Inconsistent Dev System: Infosource assigned to incorrect Source System

    Hello all
    Our Development box contains inconsistent assignments of infosources to source system.
    When I compare the dev, quality and production boxes I find:
    > Quality and Prod are consistent and all infosource systems are assigned to correct source systems - all loads execute as expected.
    > However I find ips defined in the process chains in Quality and Production under incorrect source systems in the Development box.
    > Also, the inconsistencies are varied for ex: SALESORG_ATTR is assigned to source system Y, while SALESORG_TEXT is assigned to source system X, while 0CUSTOMER_ATTR is assigned to source system Z ( where Z is the correct source system).
    I have not been able to figure what lead to this inconsistency except that I am aware that there were plugins installed and some refreshes done followed up by BDLS.
    I did try having BASIS execute BDLS to convert all logical systems X to Z ( but there were errors in the log stating that destination Z already exists - which is correct since for ex 0CUSTOMER_ATTR is assigned correctly to source system Z)
    I was considering the following to rectify this situation:
    1> Make the rectifications manually
    1a> Identify all the infosources in all the process chains in quality/production
    1b>Manually reassign all infsources/datasources to the right source system
    1c>Check all the mapping rules (transfer rules) and ensure they are same as quality/production
    1d> Activate the transfer rules
    1e>Create infopackages
    1f> Transport the ips to quality and reassign them to the process chains.
    > This is a very labourious task and invovles high risk due to manual effort
    2> Refresh from quality into dev
    2a> Recreate the transport routes
    2b> Resynchronize all the loads with the R3 dev box
    > This would cause loss of version history and therefore not recommended by SAP
    3> Rollback to a restore point
    3a> We would need to find whether we maintain a restore point in the past before which the system were consistent.
    3b> Reimport all the transports from the restore point till date
    4> Rerun BDLS
    4a> This might involve deleting all occurences of source system Z from the dev box
    Please advise what would be the best approach / if theres a better way to address this issue.
    Thankyou

    Hi,
       Goto RSA1 in yy BWQ system.
    In the Menu ---> Tools --->  Mapping of Source System Names ( Shift + F6)
    Change the Target Source System as BWP server.
    Now move the transport to BWQ. Your BWP will be assigned as source system.

  • Conversion of Source system name after transport

    Dear All,
    I need one clarification.
    Say you have developed a fresh modelling in BW Dev server and your source system is R3 dev system. Now you need to transport all the request  to BW Quality system but the source system will be R/3 quality system.
    For this change of source system name we need to maintain some mappings.... From Tools menu there is an option to do this...
    My doubt is in Production server how do we maintain the mapping...
    Quality system ---> Production
    or
    Development system---->Production.
    Hope i am clear....
    Thanks &  Regards,
    Anup

    Hello Anup,
    The question you raised particularly is about the change of source system when your transports are alredy done. For this, i would like to say is that when you do any transports in the R/3 or BW front, the source system change is done only when :
    1. It is done, when you have a single base system and different R/3 (source system)
    2. If you have a single source (R/3) and a single destination (BW Quality), you do not need to map the source system.
    Well, i case that is needed, you may do it via :
    1. Go to RSA1
    2. Go to Tools.
    3. Tools -> Conversion of source system.
    In the right most table column, provide the source system you need to connect with your BW system.
    This will internally connect you with the specified R/3 system.
    Hope it helps!
    Neha.

  • Conversion of source system names --- error in transport

    hi
    i want to transport my object from Dev111 to Quality222
    but the transport ended up in error 8
    it gave the error...
    Source system PRODUCTION333 does not exist
    I am confused,
    shouldnot it should give error related to Quality system ???
    how should be the mapping in Source system names?
    after research it seems it should be maintained in
    RSA1-TOOLS-mapping of SOURCE SYSTEM NAMES.
    i have following systems...
    BW- DEV111 QUTY222  PDN333
    R3   DEV121  QUTY242 PDN363
    What should the entries look like in which system

    Landscape is -Transport should be send from Deve-Quality---Production
    BW....................................
    DEV111 QUTY222 PDN333
    R3.....................................
    DEV121 QUTY242 PDN363
    CAN you advise if the entries SHOULD look like below in Quality and Production System???
    Quality system should have entries like:
    bw DEV111.............. bw Quality 222
    r3 DEV121................ bw Quality222
    Production system should have entries like:
    bw Quality222.............. bw Production333

  • Transport: Multiple Source Systems in QA

    Hi gurus,
    I have developed in BW Dev Transfer Rules starting from one R/3 Dev Source System.
    Now I need to transport BW Dev settings into BW QA system, where I have 4 R/3 QA Source Systems.
    In RSA1 --> Transport Connection --> Conversion (F8) I can introduce only one record to map Dev Source System with QA Source System.
    How can I define that the single Dev Source System must be translated into several QA Source System ?
    Is it possible ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Riccardo.

    Hi,
    Import 4 times by having Different conversion Each time.
    And another thing:
    Have you tried to create 4 Conversions at a time with same Source of source system and importing with these 4 conversions at a time. Even I too feel that it would not work. But you should try atleast once.

  • With out source system creation we have transported all the flow

    Hi all,
    With out source system creation in Quality we have transported all the data flow
    now is there any option to map the source system to transported flow.
    Regards
    Kiran Kumar

    Hi,
    you can reimport the same TR again once the mapping is done in BW from source system.
    If you have left the TR's in the import queue of BW for later import then you can reimport it again.
    This will go correctly.
    In qualtiy to do the mappings you will need development authorization.
    Thanks
