Mapping of users with roles in BPM

Hi, in oracle BPM there is a mapping of user with the roles.I have search the BPM database tables in dev_soainfra schema but no tables consists of mapping of these tables.I have a urgent requirement of it so that i can use it on adf form.
Can anyone plz tell me where to get it.
=>I got the Organization.XML file in BPM which consists of the mapping of these two.But i am not able to create datacontrol from xml file so that it can be used on adf form.Anyone plz help me out.
Thanks

BPM Roles are in turned mapped to Application Roles and the users are added to these application roles. So I don't think it is available in DB. You might need to get it from Application Roles using OPSS API if available or system-jazn-data.xml (if you policy store is file based) or from your LDAP.

go to EM , right click on soa-infra -> security -> Applicaiton roles, then click on BPMWorkflowAdmin role. Add your user to this role.
This user will be able to view all tasks in Worklist. you have to click on "Administration Tasks" tab.

  • Users with Roles as "Guest" can check in files

    Hi,
Is there any way that users with "Guest" roles can checkin files into the server. Please tell me..

    Yes,
You can either assign permissions to the guest role directly
Administration > Admin Applets > User Admin > Security > Permissions by Role
But do you REALLY want to do this? It would mean that anyone could change any content in this security group...
ALTERNATIVELY look at using something like the blackhole checkin approach as shown in the SecurityFilter in the HowToComponents.
Depending on what you are trying to I would want to suggest you look at the second option - it is much safer!

  • Reseeding cache for users with role based security

I have role based security and trying to set up cache by purging all cache and later seeding cache by query. The query would be different for different users. What is the best way to purge all cache and reseed cache for administrator as well as all users. The EPT would purge cache based on updated tables. But how do I next go about reseeding cache for better performance to all the users. Thanks.

I have created an ibot with the following:
General - Normal Priority, Personalized (recipient's data visibility)
    Conditional Request - example_report
    Schedule - some schedule
    Recipients - Me(administrator) and User1
Destinations - Oracle BI Server cache
when the ibot runs 2 cache entries are created (for the 2 recipients).
I have the report (example_report) on the dashboard (1 dashboard, 1 page, 1 report).
    After the ibot runs:
When the administrator logs in first, there is a cache hit on the report. Followed by when the User1 logs in there is NO cache hit.
On the other hand when the User1 logs in first, there is a cache hit on the report. Followed by when the administrator logs in there is no cache hit. The query log creates a Query issued to the database instead of cache hit on query.
The User1 has a data level security.
Please let me know where was I making an error in setting the ibot and how to get the cache seeding work for the different users with different role based security.
    Thanks for your inputs.

  • Mapping a user's role and privilege to another

    Hi all,
Is there a command/way to map the role and privileges of a current user to a new user? I am new to oracle, I did read through the online docs but was not able to figure it out.
    Thank you very much!

Check this link would help: Check the part where they are copying roles and grants for the users using dbms_metadata. You can limit this to one user you want by adding additional where clause like "where username = <username>

  • Find users with Role A and Role B but not Role C

    Hi all.
How can I find users that have a combination of roles? The find user and user reports only have one line for selecting a role the user has. Is there a report that lets you select multiple roles? It would be really handy!
    Thanks,
    Jim

If you haven't found it, there are likely no such reports, but it is easy to do that in a custom report. The problem is that its really badly documented how to make a custom report. But, it's really not that difficult if you know what to do. I will, when I get some spare time, post a guide here on how to make a custom report, the way I, and some other people, think it should be done.
Roughly a custom report consists of three parts, a listing object, to make the report turn up in the report list, a report form, and the report WF. The trick is to know the correct subtypes, attributes and such.
But take a look here Sunday, and there will possibly be a nice custom report guide posted.

  • How to map the bulk users with the required  roles in portal at one time

    Hi,
Would anyone tell me how to map the bulk users with the required roles in portal at one time?

    Thanks for all the reply.
    <b>I need to assign 1 or 2 group to n((eg) 1000)number of users</b>
I tried the first option like
    [group]
    gid=
    gdesc=
    user=
Thr problem with this is I could n't put more no of users in the notepad.
I would be able to put only 150 users in the single line of notepad. If it goes to next line it is not working.
I tried creating seperate notepad but in Import it says "exists"
I'm not sure about LDAP. Would anyone explain me the best approach to do this.

  • Erorr in while mapping users to role

in Jdeveloper . When we assign names to role in Organization, it is unable to retrieve roles form the connection. We have installed the jar file availbe in demo community . The connection to Application Server is successful. Is any body can help to overcome this issue.
Edited by: Venkat Ram on May 14, 2010 6:14 AM

    Hi,
I am also facing the same issue while trying to map the users to the Role. What I am doing is:
    1) Open the Organization from BPM Navigator.
    2) Select Roles tab and try to add the Members to the Role.
    3) Choose option User from the Type drop down.
    4) Click on Add icon (+).
    5) Create server connection. (Tests successful)
Once done, the realms do not get retrieved in the Realm drop down. When I click the search icon I get an error in pop up saying "Server Exception: Connection Refused from server". I can not see a stack trace in the JDeveloper's Messages/Log section
I am using the BPM11g VM and the Lab guide says, roles seeding and user seeding is already done for the VM image so I did not attempt that.
Venkat are you facing the same problem?

  • Problem with role mapping in custom login module

    Hi all,
I have developed custom login modules. They don't use the default user store but own data tables holding the necessary user information.
Login works fine. But there is one big problem: Only those users that exist with the same user-id in the default user store get roles assigned to it. Whicht leads to 403-errors in my web application.
Now, this is weired because a user with id 'Susi' has completely different passwords in my custom tables and in the user store, therefore it shouldn't be possible to authenticate 'Susi' against the default user management.
Next thing is, I don't use the default login modules at all. So why does the application validates against the user store?
I thought a source of the  problem might be that I don't set the roles correctly. I set the roles as a principal to the subject. I have chosen the role based mapping  in the web-engine.xml and mapped all my custom roles to the server role 'guests'.
Could anybody think of a solution to this problem ?
    Thanks,  Astrid

    Astrid,
Sorry to go off-topic on your post...but I have a question in relation to how you deploy your login module. Do you deploy the login module with your application ? I've developed a login module that I would like to deploy by itself, I currently deploy it with the calculator example and it works fine like this, but I need to deploy it by itself. Any tips you can give would be greatly appreciated.
I've tried to use the deploytool and deploy the module as a library...but I get a "cannot  load a login module" in the logs when authenticating a user.

  • AD user with no role assignment cannot login

We have created AD users that are being authenticated through OBIEE 11g. In the AD we currently have the user, password and group information associated with all the users created.
As per system behavior if an user's group is not mapped to a role within the EM, it should automatically be tagged with the authenticated-role which being a part of the 'BIConsumer' role will give the corresponding privileges to that user. This does not seem to be happening. Any insights on why this would be the case?
Additionally - If there is a group associated with a AD user within the active directory itself, is it mandatory that the AD groups be associated with a role? What I mean by this is, if we have RPD level init block to map authenticated users to custom database roles imported within the RPD and EM, would they not work unless there is a direct AD group to role assignment?

The RPD had no access set for "Authenticated Users" and "BI Consumer Role" for all subject areas as part of the presentation layer permissions, hence unless a user was assigned to a role that could access either one of the subject areas the default authentication would not work.
