Mapping site?

I am looking for a good mapping site for the Iphone. I visit many places for work and like to enter those locations into Google Maps on my deskyop and then view them on the Iphone, but for some reason they don't show up. Anyone know of a good website that would allow viewing my waypoints on my desktop and Iphone?
Thanks!

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Oracle Portal - Map Site

How can I display the map site (tree) on Oracle Portal ?

The closest thing we have to this in the current release (3.0.9) is a Nav Bar element called a content area map. When selected, it will show the user all the content areas that the user has privs to see in the portal and can drill down within a particular content area to access folders/sub folders.
In V2 (as part of the content area/page merge) we have defined a new site map-type widget that can be added to any item region on a page. When selected, it allows you to view one or all page groups in the portal (restricted by user privs) and to drill down within a particular page group to access pages/sub pages.

  • Something called inbox downloaded from a google map site and incorporated itself into firefox and I don't know how to find it to get rid of it. It is messing up firefox. in English

The app is named "in-box". It has become a part of "firefox"
I was trying to print a map off the web and a window popped up saying I needed in-box to do it right. I left the site, immediately, but it downloaded to my computer. I closed the download window and didn't click on it. But the next time I loaded firefox, "in-box" had taken control of firefox and had it's name splashed all over and the "firefox' name was small and hardly noticable.
Do I throw my firefox app out and download a new one?

When I clicked on the second site mentioned, I got such EXPLICIT, step-by-step directions!!! Thank you so much. I'd been wondering what that window was that kept popping up with the Firefox icon and that other funny thing. The word *install* was never mentioned. Pictographs were never my thing.
When I looked under the initial system requirements, it said that OS X 10.4.5 and higher were good for 5.0. I didn't check further. Under your advice, I'll go with the older version. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

  • Possible to use Web Cache to map sites to URL?

We've just installed Collaboration Suite 10g. We'd like to setup public URL's to point to different components of OCS. I've already configured our public URL's to point to the OCS Application Server, but I want to take it one step further and configure them to map directly to the specific component.
    Examples (Current Behavior):
    http://meeting.company.com:7778 maps to http://ocs.company.local:7778
    The behavior I want is:
    http://meeting.company.com:7778 mapped to http://ocs.company.local:7778/imtapp/app/prelogin.uix
    Is this possible?

    This should be possible:
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_17/caching.1012/b14046/intro.htm#i1041096
You can also do it at HTTP Server level (redirect or rewrite) or with an index.html file that redirects the user.

  • Problem Loading images in Google/Mapping sites

I have recently bought an iMac, and find that when I search using Google Images, the thumbnails do not load, and the "loading" icon stays pretty much indefinitely.
I also have problems when using mapping in Multimap/Bing/Google Earth, in that the images again do not load properly much of the time.
This is extremely frustrating as these are functions that I use all the time. I downloaded Google Chrome to see if the problem was in Safari, and got the same result, so the problem appears to be in the operating system.

I have since found this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2199926&start=0&tstart=0
...which suggested that the problem is with the router firewall, and suggests adjusting it. Mine's a Belkin (ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router), which seems to only have an "on/off" option on the firewall.
I tried turning it off, and the images now seem to load normally. However I am not happy about leaving the router with no firewall... anyone got any ideas for more specific configuration of the firewall?

  • Is there any way to open a map to the location specified in a calendar event?

Besides opening the event, copying the location, and pasting it into google\bing\etc mapping tools I do not see this rather common functionality available in Lightning. Ideally, right clicking on the event in the calendar (without opening the event) would provide an option to open your desired mapping site set to the location specified in the event. Or even if you could open the event and there was a "Map" button next to the location. Is there even a plug in\add on\extension that provides this?

we are working on server to server APIs that will allow you to fetch data (items) from node.
when that is available you'll be able to get the user list from the UserManager node.

  • How to create a PortalSite map in a tree structure

    Hi,
We are trying to reuse SAP Portal EP 7.3 standard functionalities related to create a Portal Site Map.
I've seen the procedure to create a Workset map iview (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/49/32a7a9e8c45aaae10000000a42189d/frameset.htm), but we are interested in generate this map contained in a tree structure, because currently the SAP EP 7.1 brings the menu and option format.
I would like to know if this is possible using the standard functionalities or it is required to develop any application?
Please if you could help me it would be really useful.
    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for your help Srinivas,
I was trying to know if it was possible to assign a style or layout to the site map iview created using the standard map iview delivered by SAP EP 7.3. I was looking for documentation but it is not enough at all and in my project we are still working with SAP EP 7.0
Please, if anyone could know about the map site iview standard and the available styles or maybe it is not changeable.
In that case, the only way it would be a development to get the tree structure.
    Thanks!!!!

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printing Issues with Online Maps & Financial Institutions

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer that I have wireless connection to my HP G72 Laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 9.  I am having trouble printing online maps from either Bing Maps or Google Maps.  It seems the print jobs get stuck in the print que and always show an indefinite status of “Printing” in the que but never get printed.
I’ve tested my other applications including Office 2010 and all other jobs seem to print just fine.  I do use the “Print” button located in each of the online Map sites (Bing, Google).  This is when the jobs get stuck.
I do also have the HP Bing Bar installed with Smart Print.  The Smart Print feature seems to work with the online maps just fine (seems I’ll just use it instead).
Another separate printing issue is that I can never get any of my online financial transactions to print from any of my online financial institutions with either the Internet 9 print features or the HP Bing Smart Print feature.  I can never get those to print (have to wait for the PDF statements to be available).
Any ideas as to why I can print the maps or online financial transaction?  I get no error messages either.

  • Pages '09: Can't Embed Link to Map in PDF

I'm really stumped. Links to web pages that I embed in my Pages publishing docs operate as expected when I export the document to PDF. However, I'm having no success with links to Google, Mapquest or Yahoo maps. The links are live in Pages, but are dead once I export to PDF. The link text shows up blue and underlined in the PDF, but it's just static text. This is the case whether I open the PDF in Adobe Reader or Preview in MacOS, or in Adobe Acrobat Pro X in Windows XP. This is also happening on two different Macs. Again, the problem is only with links to map locations. Any ideas?

I just repeated the steps that I had shared with you and achieved the same desired result: a PDF with a working map link. Here are the steps I just applied in outline form:
In Pages '09 4.2, create the standalone text or text box content, that is to receive the hyperlink. If textbox, click outside the textbox to set the box in Pages. If you don't do this, applying a hyperlink to the enclosed text, and saving as a PDF will result in that text not appearing in your PDF.
In your web browser (I used Safari 6.0.2), visit the map site of your choice; key in the location in the search window, and then double-click at least twice on the map to generate data in the map URL.
Choose the link/embed button on the map page. Ensure the URL or tiny URL is selected. Copy it to the clipboard with either Edit > Copy, or Command+C. Perform no other clipboard activity until all steps are complete.
In Pages, double-click the word you want to apply the hyperlink too. If it is multiple words, double-click the first word, hold the shift key down, hover the i-beam mouse pointer over the end of the last word, and click once. Your hyperlink target is now selected. Do not click within the Pages document.
Again, in Pages, Insert > Hyperlink > Webpage.
    Enable hyperlink is selected.
Triple-click the default Apple link to select it.
Paste the map hyperlink from the clipboard using Edit > Paste, or Command+V.
Press return to set the hyperlink to your selected text.
Save your Pages document and Export the PDF.
I have walked through this list and was able to recreate one, or multiple map links in the same document, that survived into the PDF file. Both Preview and Adobe Reader XI received active map links that worked.
Hopefully, you will have better success with these steps and avert the Acrobat Pro route.

  • Firefox 3.6.3 and Ovi Maps Plug-In compatibility

Hello everybody. I have a new problem since yesterday and I sure could use some help. My problem is that suddenly (since yesterday) when I open the Ovi Maps site (http://maps.ovi.com/) I don't see the map surface anymore, I just see a white surface!!! Everything else is in place. I can zoom in and out of this white surface I can even change to 3D and the blue sky on top appears but no map. Needless to say the same goes for satelite or any other option. No map appears. If I reload the page the map appears for a second and disappears immediately. When I deactivate the ovi maps plug-in (4.0.12.12), the map reappears and stays. I even tried to unistall it and reinstall it but the same thing happens, NO map visible. When I reinstalled it, it said that the plug-in is not compatible with firefox 3.6.3. The strange thing is that I didn't updated my firefox since yesterday,  it just started to happen suddenly. I couldn't find anything like that elsewhere on the web so this place is my last hope. Has anyone had a similar experience or even better a possible solution? By the way I have windows 7 but I can't imagine a reason for this being relevant since it work just fine until yesterday. I thank everyone for his hint/idea/solution in advance.
    Carlosl

Use Internet Explorer. I used to use ovi maps on firefox as well until FF suddenly updated itself. It works ok on IE.

  • Open an e-mailed street address in google maps

    Greetings humans,
Does any one know of a way to directly open an e-mailed address in google maps (or any map site for that matter)
Kinda like the way it works in Address Book, except within Mail. Such as, highlight an address that someone emailed to me and right click then select open in google maps. A script perhaps?
I know I can highlight the address then go Mail>services>search with Google, then once on Googles result page select maps. But I was hoping for a more direct way.
    Thanks in advance,
    bd

    Thanks for replying David.
What I was hoping for is a plugin for Mail to add a "Search with Google Maps" right under "Search with Google" (which is already there under Mail>Services.
"How is Mail (or any part of the system for that matter) supposed to know that an arbitrary text you’ve selected in Mail is actually a postal address?"
well... the user would know that it is a postal address. That would be the reason for selecting it and asking it to be searched via google maps. And if it wasn't an address, then there would be no results. Much the same way as if you typed a non-postal address directly in the google maps page. (Actually if you type any random word in google maps you will get thousands of hits)
I hope that clarifies what I mean. Or did I confuse the issue more?
    Thanks again,

  • Google Maps Widget

I have a fundamental question. Is it legal, the Google Maps widget on business websites to use? This site is purely informative Art
    Thanks for binding Answers

Google give links so you canput maps on your web pages so I presume it is legal.
If you are unsure then read all the terms and conditions on the Google maps site.
I have used an API key to put a customised map on a web page Google give all parts of the code, you just have to choose the bits you want and put it together.
the easiest solution for iweb I would suggest is just to put the map in an iframe in the snippet - again Google provide all the code needed.
Hope that is of some use to you.

  • Where can I download maps of other countries?

    I just bought a Nokia 6260 Slide ( http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/6260_slide )
I bought it in Singapore and it has maps of Singapore and Malaysia installed, however, I will be heading to Hong Kong soon and I need to download a map of Hong Kong so that my phone can help me navigate my way around.
Where can I downloada map of Hong Kong making sure it works and road names are in english as well?

    Hi,
there is a Map Loader for mac available from the maps site.
    http://europe.nokia.com/explore-services/maps/download-maps/map-loader
I dont know if it will work with Ovi Maps (Maps 3.0) though.

  • Ovi Maps on N97

I updated(being the operative word rather than upgraded) Maps to Ovi Maps and lived the interface and the maps being a little lot clearer on the N97, but when i tried using it with downloaded maps it always seems to be behind in location or thinks you are still making a manouvre even when you have made the turn and 10 metres down the road.
It just seems to be alot slower and less responsive than Maps 2 or N96. I know the N97 has a 'slower' CPU than than the N96 but not justifiable that it should lag behind so much. Anyone else noticed this? I know I sometime drive fast, but I dont break the landspeed record either.
    N95,N96 and N97

So far, I find no problem with version 2 as supplied on the N97.
I've used the N95 for the past 2 years, and updated Nokia Maps as least twice, probably 3 times in that time. I saw the Ovi 3 ages ago, and was tempted to install it on the N95, but I was so pleased to get Nokia Maps v 2 working so well on the N95 that I decided to keep it. So far I've decided on the same philosophy for the N97. I don't find it laggy so far. I do miss Ann though lol. I must see if I can download her from the Maps site. I feel I'm being unfaithful to her. And it's pervy having a guy nagging me.

  • Maps loader doesn't start from my PC Suite

I just updated the firmware on my 5800 and tried to start using the new navigation software.. it complained that I have old maps, so it deleted them. I updated my PC suite as well as the Map loader software. Now that I tried to start the Map loader from PC suite, it will only jump to a Nokia maps site and doesn't start. The previous version worked ok, but I guess it only gives my phone maps which are not supported. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, checking updates...
Any suggestions how to get the Map loader working or the maps to my phone?

Hi. Go to http://europe.nokia.com/explore-services/ovi-maps/downloads-and-services ,  and download the Nokia map loader.
