Mapping to PDF

Hi all
is there a way to map a XML file to PDF
Thanks

Hi,
Another option is use two mapping, one to convert in the structure you want and the second one a javamapping to convert the result in pdf format.

  • Report fonts mapping and PDF output problem(Easten European languages)

    Hi experts,
    I have such a problem.
If i run oracle reports(10g) via reports builder all layouts looks fine.
When i run them in PDF format via application server - report text and numbers strech out off frames, also textfields and text itself becomes bigger in size.
Aplication server runs over windows OS.
    Uifont.ali file looks:
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    Arial..Italic.Bold.. = "Arialbi.ttf"
    Arial...Bold.. = "Arialbd.ttf"
    Arial..Italic... = "Ariali.ttf"
    Arial..Plain... = "Arial.ttf"
    Arial..... = "Arial.ttf"
    "Times New Roman"...Bold.. = "TIMESBD.TTF"
    "Times New Roman"..Italic... = "TIMESI.TTF"
    "Times New Roman"..... = "TIMES.TTF"
I think the problem is with Lithuanian(baltic) letters in the text. If i do not map fonts in uifont.ali file i get PDF report without the
lithuanian alphabet letters, but in this case it looks fine(The same as in report builder)
After fonts mapping, i get my lithuanian alphabet letters, but text and numbers strech out off frames, changes the size and etc.
I put the example of my report uotput:
    http://pirmas.50webs.com/index.html
What else can i do to solve this problem?
    Thanks for any suggestions

For the html output issue , there is a patch available on top of 9021. Please contact your Oracle support representative to get a 90211 patch nd apply the one-off patch of Bug 2472932.
For PDF, please ensure that you are setting the NLS_LANG in the server config file using the dynamic environment switch feature introduced in 90 patch 1 (9021). Please see the patch 1 release notes for the details

  • Pages '09: Can't Embed Link to Map in PDF

I'm really stumped. Links to web pages that I embed in my Pages publishing docs operate as expected when I export the document to PDF. However, I'm having no success with links to Google, Mapquest or Yahoo maps. The links are live in Pages, but are dead once I export to PDF. The link text shows up blue and underlined in the PDF, but it's just static text. This is the case whether I open the PDF in Adobe Reader or Preview in MacOS, or in Adobe Acrobat Pro X in Windows XP. This is also happening on two different Macs. Again, the problem is only with links to map locations. Any ideas?

I just repeated the steps that I had shared with you and achieved the same desired result: a PDF with a working map link. Here are the steps I just applied in outline form:
In Pages '09 4.2, create the standalone text or text box content, that is to receive the hyperlink. If textbox, click outside the textbox to set the box in Pages. If you don't do this, applying a hyperlink to the enclosed text, and saving as a PDF will result in that text not appearing in your PDF.
In your web browser (I used Safari 6.0.2), visit the map site of your choice; key in the location in the search window, and then double-click at least twice on the map to generate data in the map URL.
Choose the link/embed button on the map page. Ensure the URL or tiny URL is selected. Copy it to the clipboard with either Edit > Copy, or Command+C. Perform no other clipboard activity until all steps are complete.
In Pages, double-click the word you want to apply the hyperlink too. If it is multiple words, double-click the first word, hold the shift key down, hover the i-beam mouse pointer over the end of the last word, and click once. Your hyperlink target is now selected. Do not click within the Pages document.
Again, in Pages, Insert > Hyperlink > Webpage.
    Enable hyperlink is selected.
Triple-click the default Apple link to select it.
Paste the map hyperlink from the clipboard using Edit > Paste, or Command+V.
Press return to set the hyperlink to your selected text.
Save your Pages document and Export the PDF.
I have walked through this list and was able to recreate one, or multiple map links in the same document, that survived into the PDF file. Both Preview and Adobe Reader XI received active map links that worked.
Hopefully, you will have better success with these steps and avert the Acrobat Pro route.

  • How to include Goole Map in PDF cfdocument

We have a Google premier license and use it to create maps displaying markers defined by database lat/long values.  I want to include one of the JS API generated maps inside a PDF we create using cfsavecontent and cfdocument.  However, the map canvas is always blank when viewed inside the resulting PDF. Is there any reliable way to do the cfdocument step *after* the map has loaded on the user's screen or save the map canvas to our server as an image so we can include it in the cfdocument?
Many thanks for any assistance provided.

It is interesting to hear that it can be done with latex. I thought it was only possible with high end pay for products like Adobe Acrobat. It is anyhow not possible with iWork.

  • Converting custom Google map to PDF

Is it possible to take a customized Google map (showing points of interest we've created) and turn it into a pdf that would be zoomable, and in which each of those points would be clickable (or via mouseover) to show information about those points? If the answer is yes, is their functionality that would allow this to be viewed on a mobile device?  Thanks! If there isn't an Adobe solution that would accomplish this, do you know of some other solution?  Here's an example of the type of map I want to be able to convert to PDF and have each icon identifiable in some manner:

I have a feeling Google would make this as difficult as they can.
If I'd been asked to do this, I'd be worrying very much about Google's licensing of map data and whether making an "offline copy" was breaking the license. http://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines.html. How is your copyright law?
Google do offer a maps API which can be used to deliver maps on mobile devices. That might be the safer option.

  • Data mapping in pdf forms

I've created a simple PDF form and an interface for it. I've binded the context to a few text fields and everything seems to work as intended. The problem I'm having at the moment is that I would be requiring the short description of the data value, not the exact data value (e.g. datatype SHKZG value 'S' short description "Debit"). I would not like to hard code this with formcalc or javascript. Is there an easy way to do this?

    Hi Rohit
are you working with interactive forms inside Web Dynpro? If so, Web Dynpro will create the data connection for you. The only thning you have to do is setting the "data sorurce" and "pdf source" in the properties tab of the interactive forms layout element. See for example here: Web Dynpro Java Tutorials and Samples NW 2004 [original link is broken]#50 [original link is broken] or other tutotials on web Dynpro and interactive forms : Web Dynpro Java Tutorials and Samples NW 2004 [original link is broken]
If you don't work with Web Dynpro, you can create a data connection as follows:
    1. Open your *xdp-Template (Doubleclick: Lifecycle Designer is starting
2.Click on File-> New Data Connection.
3, Create the data Connection with the wizard, Your source can be
    a) XML Schema
    b) OLEDB Database
    c) WSDL file
Hope this helps. Please reward points if helpful
    Kind regards

  • PDF Optimizer Causes Disappearing Lines in Maps

I often have to optimize PDF maps created in ESRI ArcGIS to reduce the file size. This works great most of the time but some PDFs have lines that disappear every time I optimize, regardless of the settings.
    Some notes:
    - The same line will disappear even when all of the optimize options are turned off (i.e. it should be doing nothing to the document).
    - The layer that contains the line still shows up in the layer tab, but turning it on or off has no effect
    - Printing to PDF works fine, the line does NOT disappear (though the file size reduction isn't as great)
    - The line that usually disappears is ~425 miles long, though the map only covers a few miles of it
    - This happens on multiple computers, running the latest version of Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows XP.
    - This also happens on the same map regardless of which computer exports the map to PDF in the first place (even using different versions of PDF)
    - I can replicate the effect by manually deleting the tags from the document. As soon as I delete the tag, the line disappears (though the layer remains)
This has been a very frustrating problem and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I have scoured the internet for similar problems, but could not find anything useful.

  • Map binary data (PDF) to XML not possible due to non-printable chars

    Hi XI Gurus,
    we have the following issue.
We send a PDF as binary data (as a hex string '25255044462D3' ) along with some other information from ERP within one RFC to XI , doing a message split 1:n for those two kind of messages (1. the PDF, 2. the XML) an send the split messages to file/ftp receiver adapter.
The message split and sending of the messages is working well, but we encounter some problems with non-printable chars (hex code below 0x20) in the pdf binary. The PDF data and the dynamic file name is mapped into an XML. But the non printable characters are converted into '#' when mapped into the XML target field.
(Due to the 1:n multi mapping, we cannot put the filename into dynamic configuration, so we have to map the pdf and the filename into an XML and extract the content with variable substitution in receiver file adapter....)
My question is: how can binary data with non-printable chars be sent through XI and can be mapped into an XML without beeing replaced by '#' ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards
    Holger

Maybe I didn´t explained it clearly enough.
We do not have the issue that the RFC puts the '#' into the string. We got from the RFC a hex string containing the pdf as visible hex values like:
As you can see we have the pdf as hex string. During message mapping XI replaces some non-printable chars like '0x04' or '0x19' with '#'.
My question is: how can we avoid those char replacement ?
BTW: I grabbed a pdf with sender file adapter, routed through XI without any mapping and send it with ftp in binary mode. But the pdf contains more chars as the origional file and the pdf content is not visible when opening with a pdf reader like Acrobat. I guess the file adpter has problems with carriage return and linefeed chars. Some CR and LF are replaced inserted somehow.
    Best regards,
    Holger

  • Unable to map PDF via Infornatica Conversion Agent

    All,
i'm trying to build a scenario in which pdf is being parsed to xml via Informatica Itemfiled convertor agent. I've created such mapping  based on the agent tutorial (used the sample pdf file) -  it was just fine. When i tried to use my pdf (which was created by addobe interactive forms) i was not able to map the pdf, at the "source" tab (covertor agent) there was a wornning about upgrading my addobe reader version (i'm using latest one) instead of pdf file content (as was when i used tutorial's pdf file).
    any clue?
    Regards

"You can define any document processor to pre-process the source document of a parser. If the processor output is XML, you can use it to pre-process the source document of a parser, serializer, or mapper."
    Set Document preprocessor to
PdfFormToXml_1_00 - Converts PDF forms to XML
Pay attention there might be diffreneces between CA versions and a different PDF processor should be used.

  • How to calculate output page size of pdf map request?

    Hello,
i have a problem regarding requesting a map as pdf and the resulting page size of the pdf in MapViewer version Ver11_B071001.
i defined a bbox in srid 82015 that has a width of 297m and a height of 420m. The scale is 1:1000.
According to the documentation the standard device resolution is 96dpi, so the above bbox will result in an image with 1122 pixel width and 1587 pixel height.
A request with format="PNG_STREAM" returns an image with exact these dimensions.
But a request with format="PDF_URL" returns a pdf document which dimension is 395.8mm * 559.9mm.
I expected a dimension of 297mm * 420mm (which is DIN A3 as pagesize), so 1mm on the printed pdf equals 1000mm in the real world (scale 1:1000).
    Where am i doing wrong?
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,
based on some comments received from the PDF group, the PDF uses "pt" as reference.
96 dpi can be said as 96 px per in
    so 96 px = 1 in
    1 in = 1/96 px
    1 px = 0.75pt (in 96 dpi system)
    1 in = 72pt
    1 in = 2.54cm = 25.4mm = 0.0254m
so in your calculation, you need to multiply by 0.75 in order to convert "px" into "pt".

  • Creating a PDF-Mail-Attachment via Abap Mapping possible ?

    Hi folks,
I am trying to build a szenario like: Getting an Idoc -> sending it to abap mapping -> map a pdf from smartforms in abap -> map the from/to for the mail payload -> come back from abap mapping -> send it with the mail adapter .
But now I am stuck at the point "coming back from abap mapping", because the pdf -data seems to become unreadable because of conversion. I am using Ixml and trying to attach the create pdf (looks hex-right at that point) by method create_simple_element as content-tag of the mail. But after rendering and coming back out of mapping, it seams that that data is not converted from xstring back in the right way. Can someone give a hint ? Is that way by IXML not possible for data including binary-data ? Have I to go another way?
    Thanks in advance
    Detlef

    > as content-tag of the mail.
Sometimes I have to read the request several times to find the issue:
No you cannot put a binary as part of an XML element.
You can only send a plain binary as payload, so the whole mail would be nothing besides the PDF.
In PI 7.1 you can create also an additional attachment out of mapping, but I do not know if this works for ABAP mapping also.
The whole "I want to send an email with attachment out of PI" topic is not supported from PI development in any way.
So you have to write a lot of code (especially Java code) to achieve this.
    > Regarding your opinion. Its based on customer requirements to have central focal point in dezentral landscape.
The PI expert has to advise the customer for the scenarios. That is part of the job.

Time to engage in basic debugging. Alter your script to remove all the extra steps and generate logs as it goes along, then gradually re-enable each part so you can work out where it's bombing out. It doesn't sound like a problem with Reader itself, and as Claudio says we're not here to provide support for non-Adobe software.

  • Is it possible to override the built-in PDF format handler with a custom IFilter for PDF?

    Hi,
SharePoint 2013 comes with a built-in "format handler" for PDF now, so it can index PDF files out of the box. This is great for most users, as it now no longer is necessary to install a third-party IFilter for crawling PDF documents.
My question is, is it possible to override the built-in format handler for PDF with a custom IFilter for PDF? I played with the Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState and Remove-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormat cmdlets. While it is possible to deactivate
the built-in format handler, I was not able to remove it and to create a new one that activates a custom IFilter for PDF files.
Background of the question: While the new built-in format handler for PDF will probably be sufficient for many SharePoint users, some need additional capabilities regarding indexing if PDF documents, e.g. extraction of custom metadata from PDF's document
information dictionary and embedded XMP metadata. PDFlib GmbH, the company I work form, sells an IFilter for PDF, and of course we would like to continue to offer this for SharePoint 2013.
    Thanks
    Stephan

You should be able to replace it with any ifilter you want, this is the procedure for installing it:
Install PDF iFilter 9.0 (64 bit) from
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025)
Download PDF icon picture from Adobe web site
    http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html (http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html)  and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES\
Add the following entry in docIcon.xml file, which can be found at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\XML
    <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="pdficon_small.png" />
Add pdf file type on the File Type page under Search Service Application
    Open regedit
    Navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Server\15.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\Filters\Extension
Right-click > Click New > Key to create a new key for .pdf
Add the following GUID in the default value
    {E8978DA6-047F-4E3D-9C78-CDBE46041603}
•Restart the SharePoint Server Search 15
•Reboot the SharePoint servers in Farm
•Create a Test site (with any out-of-box site template) and create a document library upload any sample PDF document(s).
•Perform FULL Crawl to get search result.
Once the crawl is completed we will get search results.

  • Error when opening a pdf by clicking a search result. Link works fine when opened any other way. IE issue only.

    The issue:
    www.norwich.gov.uk
When you carry out a search for "co-operative bank" and click the first result (which is a pdf), Adobe Reader is launched and the user sees this error: "There was an error opening this document, The filename, directory name or volume label syntax
    is incorrect"
However, if you do any of these...
right-click the link and choose to open it in a new tab
right-click the link, copy the shortcut, paste it into the address bar and hit go
open the file directly from the library
open the file by clicking on a hyperlink
... you are prompted to Open or Save the file. On choosing 'Open' the file is opened in the browser window with no problems.  It is only when clicking on the link in the search results that the issue arises.  The issue only occurs with IE.
    Current settings:
    Client integration is disabled
Browser file handling is set to permissive
Default open behaviour for browser-enabled documents is set to open in the browser
    DOCICON.xml is configured to show <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="icpdf.png" EditText="Adobe Acrobat" OpenControl=""/>
Disabling the Adobe Acrobat SharePoint Opendocuments add-on 'fixes' the issue, in that the user no longer sees the error, but instead sees the prompt. However, this doesn't help us as the site is public facing asn we cant control user's add-ons.
    Hope someone can help.

I tried this from my laptop with IE8 and it worked fine.
I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks
    C
