Mappings disapper randomly

Hello,
we've six new HP ProDesk 405 computer in our environment and some problems only with this new machines:
DriveMapping-connections are disappearing randomly sometimes and we can't disconnect or reconnect this mappings. (red cross, not always all mappings)
Computer has to be restarted always it appers.
On all machines we updatet to Novell-Client: SP3 IR7a and set FileCaching to OFF (also on our Servers).
We also tried to update LAN-Firmware and drivers or installed another network card - doesn't solve the problem.
All other Clients have no problems like this.
I searched forums, etc but cant solve this problem.
Has anybody an idea what I could do to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Michael

Hello Willem,
Is this disconnect after a period of user inactivity? Or can it be random while someone is activity working on the machine?
No - usually there is no inactivity period before the error.
We also changed energy saving settings for network cards - doesn't help.
It would also be good to know more about the server the machine is connected to (is it NetWare or OES, and which patchlevel and version?), and if the other machines that do not show this issue have the same Novell Client version installed?
Server machines are running on NetWare 6 Sp8 and OES11Sp2.
Yes - other client machines without this Problem have the same novell client installed.
It only appears on this 6 HP machines - other new installed machines doesn't have this problem.

  • SIT Mappings randomly break

I'm having a very frustrating problem with the Simulation interface toolkit (version 5.0.1). I'm working with a rather large complicated simulink model (compiled into a dll and run on a PXI target) so I am creating my host vi piece by piece.
I completed the first piece and successfully mapped all controls an indicators using the SIT connection manager. All controls and indicators appeared to work as expected.
I then added all the controls and indicators for the second piece to my host vi and suddenly most of te indicators for the first piece are displaying only zeroes. Even more confusing is that before I actually mapped the indicators from the second piece to anything, they were displaying the values that the inidcators that are now displaying zeroes should have displayed.
I have since redone the mappings and all but one of the second set of controls/indicators are working as expected but the first set is still FUBAR.
I should note however that one of the indicators that currently displays as all zeroes should be displaying the contents 50 byte message destined to be output on a serial line. This message I am able to read on the other end and it appears as I would expect so the dll itself seems to be functioning properly. Its just the exchange of data between host and driver that seems broken.
Has anyone run into anything like this before?

    Hello,
thanks for replying so soon. The thing is that I am working with SIT but not with the I/O of the hardaware, what means i can't access to the place you tell me in SIT menu....
I've mapped 2 controls and 2 indicators and in simulink i placed scopes to see if it's receiving the values, but it appears nothing, i guess it's cause it is not reading the signals i send from labview. The 2 outputs of my -mdl I use them in the main loop of my .vi. I don't know if I've explained more or less my situation.
The interface i think is fine, since if i place a constant value in my labview block diagram connected to the indicators, when i execute the .vi, the mdl does it as well, and i see that by changing the value of the 2 constants in the frontal panel (since they are controls), in the simulink it shows that change (only if i change quicly in the frontal pannel the values, otherwise it shows the initial value i set at the beginning...it's really weird).
so my situation is frustrating, i don't know what it's wrong... I'm working in real time, since the operations my model in simulink does is changing the parameters of one equation every 20min and it returns the duty cicle of the controller i'm implementing... for this reason i need to work in real time.
another question is, i haven't create dthe .dll, instead i'm woiorking with matlab and labview opned at the same time and before starting i build the model of simulink and it looks it gives me no error... should I crete the dll and work with it?
    thank you very much,
    wait for your answer.

  • DFS Random Namespace disappering

We have been fighting now for over a week where DFS namespaces will disapper from our domain controllers. Basically if you go to \\domain.int\share it will only show the users folder on there. This happens on almost all of the domain controllers. Even going
to \\domaincontroller\share results in the same issue.
Sometimes however if you go to \\domain\share it will work and other times it won't work.
    Topology
    2 Domain controllers in DC
    2 Domain controllers in Nashville
    1 Domain Controller in Ohio
2 Domain Controllers in Boca Raton
We have it so that Nashville and Ohio are considered a site and DC is a Site and Boca Raton is a site setup under Sites and Services.
We have followed some guides from microsoft like changing the latency to 32000 for \\domain.int\share but that still has not helped.
Any help on where I can start to look at because we are out of ideas at this point and pretty much just aggravated and frustrated beyond belief.  If there any other data that you might need to help solve please ask. I am sure in my haste I have left
out some important details that could help us.

    Hi,
Sorry for the long delay to provide a reply.
From your description you mentioned "\\domain.int\share". First I would like to know if the DFS namespace structure is correct.
In your case there should be a root like \\domain.int\share, and then create links (subfolders) which actually point to shared folders on other servers such as:
    \\domain.int\share
    \folder1  --- point to \\Nashville&Ohio\share
    \\DC\share
    \\BocaRaton\share
Similar to the second picture in following article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/josebda/archive/2009/03/10/the-basics-of-the-windows-server-2008-distributed-file-system-dfs.aspx
If there is no namespace root as displayed above, the configuration is incorrect.
    So here are my questions:
    1. How many root server setup here - you can add a second root server (namespace server) for failover.
    2. If there are more than 1 folder targets, when the issue occurs, please make sure if all folder targets could be accessed correctly or not, with access \\servername\share instead of domain based namespace.

  • When i scrolled down, the photos disapper in random order

in iphoto i can't see all the photos when i view into the folder, some of them are appearing while some are not and vice versa when i scrolled down,

    nercv:
It's not a but but probably a problem with ownership and permissions on the image files. Try the following: download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.

  • Idoc-xi-rfc scenario random fails to be processed

    Hallo all .
Let me first describe our scenario.
Generally it is an IDOC - > XI -> RFC case.
Idocs are created after an order creation .
In XI there are two different mappings, depending on the idoc structure (the IDOC  type is the same, but the segments created are different)  and two different receivers, each one with an individual communication channel. Each channel is allowed to have up to 200 multiple simultaneous connections .
Then, each functions decides whether the inbound data is appropriate for it and processes it or not .
    Our problem is this :
If we send a bunch of orders (eg 100), all of them are processed successfully except of some of them, (eg 4 ).
In the SXMB__MONI, they are all marked as "waiting for acknowledgment" .
Yet, there is no obvious reason for their failure.
If we send again the failed orders, then 3 of them may be processed.
And finally if we send them again even the last one will be processed.
So, from what I can see, this problem cannot exist due to the data we send, or the XI configuration, or the functions that are finally called. Actually, it seems to be absolutely random.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated .

Some clarifications : The business scenario is to handle the ORDER idocs that created in the SAP ERP system from SD (Outbound Deliveries) or the Stock Transport Orders (Outbound Deliveries). The problem for the created IDocs is that if the outbound delivery is coming from SD then for each line item of the sd document fills the segment A for example and if the outbound delivery is coming from the Stock Transport Order then fills another IDOC segment for example B. For this reason we decide to create two separate interface mappings in order to send each IDOC in both of the Function Module that handle which of them will be executed. In the daily order processing the user every afternoon use a standard SAP ERP transaction and collect all the outbound deliveries and create for the collectively the appropriate IDOCs. We suppose the mass processing will create some problems.
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
one simple advice (less then one day) would be to change
    >Generally it is an IDOC - > XI -> RFC case.
    either to:
Generally it is an IDOC - > XI -> ABAP proxy case.
or if this is not abap proxy enabled receiver system to:
Generally it is an IDOC - > XI -> IDOC case.
if you already have a working RFC then changing it to and IDOC
and changing a mapping is less then one day and in both cases
abap proxy and IDOC you will have a clear status and LOG!
(as both IDOCs and ABAP proxies are persistent in receiver system)
this is the best possible option I believe and nothing will get lost for sure

  • Identity Sync - Password randomly generated in AD

    Configuration:
    DS 5.2 Patch 2
    on Solaris 9
with Identity Sync for Windows 1 2004Q3
configured to Synch from DS to AD
I have set up object creation to flow from DS to AD, and the user creation works okay but the password I create the account with is not being pushed to AD. Instead it creates the account with a randomly generated password. Is there a way around this, I am attempting to script new user creations. Here is log entry I get in error.log when I create a user.
[08/Mar/2005:11:35:59.416 +1000] WARNING 29 CNN101 tyr "Successfully created user cn=James Test,cn=users,dc=xxx,dc=xxx,dc=xx with randomly generated password. This account will be unusable until another password is set." (Action ID=CNN100-1027FA4BBD3-491, SN=2)
Thankyou in advance for any assistance!!
    regards
    Gryph

I've been doing some more testing and have some more information that might be important.
I have been testing the attribute synchronisation for the mappings I have done, and noticed that if I modify the userpassword attribute in the DS console it is not being synch'd to AD, but I can modify other attributes and they do get synch'd. If I modify the password on the AD side it gets synch'd back to DS ok. I have attribute modification set to flow in both directions and the password mapping is (DS) userpassword <--> unicodepwd (AD).
Given it seems to ignore changes to the userpassword attribute for modifications, it looks like this is also holding true for creations, and I guess this is why it's randomly assigning a password.
Any ideas why it sees other attribute modifcations and synch's them from the DS side, but is not seeing the userpassword attribute?

  • IMail: slow performance, disappearing emails, random receipt/dispatch of emails

Other users in this forum have reported problems with iMail after upgrading to ML (e.g., iMail slowing down significantly). I suffer from these problems as well, in particular:
    1. iMail has slowed down. I followed the advice of other users and deleted all envelope-type files in the library thus "forcing" iMail to reimport all mails. This helpe for a second, until the next problem emerged.
    2. In addition, mails apper and disappear randomly depending on the folder that has been activated/highlighted. After a few minutes, mails in other folders appear and disapper.
    3. Furthermore, even when all mails in a folder have been read, reference to "x" or "z" mails that were indicated as unread before would not disappear.
    4. Finally, dispatch and receipt of emails also only randomly works, which means that form time to time emails can be sent and received - but the program is no longer stable.
As a consequence, iMail has become unusable as of today. Can anyone help solving these problems? Comments and suggestions very much appreciated.

I am having this problem as well.  If you quit mail and reenter it, you will see your exchange mail again.  Question, do you that are having this problem have a large inbox?  Others in my office are not having the same problem but the only difference I have found is that I use searches to organize my inbox instead of physically moving exchange mails into folders so the inbox doesn't have as many messages.
However, Apple NEEDS to fix this ASAP!  This has been an absolute pain in the ***.

  • Random Account Lockout (How to trace source?)

In Windows 2003 server native domain environment: XP Pro machines have no issues, but all ~10 PCs that have Win7 Pro (in different offices) have their domain accounts locked out randomly throughout the day. Workstations have no passwords listed in credentials
    management.
Suspect it is something on the workstations that is sending incorrect logon and triggering the invalid password lockout limit on domain policy. Found MSFT tools to trace in XP, but nothing for Win7. Does anyone know how to use Procmon or similiar tool to
trace such source on the workstations? Thank you.
    (Procmon.exe from systernals)

    Hi,
The user account has been automatically locked because too many invalid logon attempts or password change attempts have been requested.
We can run the LockoutStatus.exe on domain controller to identify and investigate the account lockout issue.
    Troubleshooting tools:
By using this tool, we can gather and displays information about the specified user account including the domain admin's account
from all the domain controllers in the domain. In addition, the tool displays the user's badPwdCount value on each domain controller. The domain controllers that have a badPwdCount value that reflects the bad password threshold setting for the domain are the
domain controllers that are involved in the lockout. These domain controllers always include the PDC emulator operations master.
You may download the tool from the link
    Download Account Lockout Status (LockoutStatus.exe)
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=D1A5ED1D-CD55-4829-A189-99515B0E90F7&displaylang=en
Once we confirm the problematic computer, we can perform further research to locate the root cause. Actually, there are many possible
causes for bad password, such as cached password, schedule task, mapped drives, services, etc. Please remove the previous password cache which may be used by some applications and therefore cause the account lockout problem.
    Troubleshooting steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Click the "Manage Password" button.
    4. Check to see if these domain account's passwords are cached. If so, remove them.
    5. Check if the problem has been resolved now.
If there is any application or service is running as the problematic user account, please disable it and then check whether the problem
    occurs.
For your convenience, I'd like to list the common troubleshooting steps and resolutions for account lockouts as the following:
    Common Causes for Account Lockouts
To avoid false lockouts, please check each computer on which a lockout occurred for the following behaviors:
    Programs:
Many programs cache credentials or keep active threads that retain the credentials after a user changes their password.
    Service accounts:
Service account passwords are cached by the service control manager on member computers that use the account as well as domain controllers.
If you reset the password for a service account and you do not reset the password in the service control manager, account lockouts for the service account occur. This is because the computers that use this account typically retry logon authentication by using
the previous password. To determine whether this is occurring, look for a pattern in the Netlogon log files and in the event log files on member computers. You can then configure the service control manager to use the new password and avoid future account
    lockouts.
Bad Password Threshold is set too low:
This is one of the most common misconfiguration issues. Many companies set the Bad Password Threshold registry value to a value lower
than the default value of 10. If you set this value too low, false lockouts occur when programs automatically retry passwords that are not valid. Microsoft recommends that you leave this value at its default value of 10. For more information, see "Choosing
Account Lockout Settings for Your Deployment" in this document.
User logging on to multiple computers:
A user may log onto multiple computers at one time. Programs that are running on those computers may access network resources with
the user credentials of that user who is currently logged on. If the user changes their password on one of the computers, programs that are running on the other computers may continue to use the original password. Because those programs authenticate when they
request access to network resources, the old password continues to be used and the users account becomes locked out. To ensure that this behavior does not occur, users should log off of all computers, change the password from a single location, and then log
    off and back on.
Stored user names and passwords retain redundant credentials:
If any of the saved credentials are the same as the logon credential, you should delete those credentials. The credentials are redundant
because Windows tries the logon credentials when explicit credentials are not found. To delete logon credentials, use the Stored User Names and Passwords tool. For more information about Stored User Names and Passwords, see online help in Windows XP and the
    Windows Server 2003 family.
    Scheduled tasks:
Scheduled processes may be configured to using credentials that have expired.
    Persistent drive mappings:
Persistent drives may have been established with credentials that subsequently expired. If the user types explicit credentials when
they try to connect to a share, the credential is not persistent unless it is explicitly saved by Stored User Names and Passwords. Every time that the user logs off the network, logs on to the network, or restarts the computer, the authentication attempt fails
when Windows attempts to restore the connection because there are no stored credentials. To avoid this behavior, configure net use so that is does not make persistent connections. To do this, at a command prompt, please type net use /persistent:no. Alternately,
to ensure current credentials are used for persistent drives, disconnect and reconnect the persistent drive.
    Active Directory replication:
User properties must replicate between domain controllers to ensure that account lockout information is processed properly. You should
verify that proper Active Directory replication is occurring.
    Disconnected Terminal Server sessions:
Disconnected Terminal Server sessions may be running a process that accesses network resources with outdated authentication information.
A disconnected session can have the same effect as a user with multiple interactive logons and cause account lockout by using the outdated credentials. The only difference between a disconnected session and a user who is logged onto multiple computers is that
the source of the lockout comes from a single computer that is running Terminal Services.
    Service accounts:
By default, most computer services are configured to start in the security context of the Local System account. However, you can
manually configure a service to use a specific user account and password. If you configure a service to start with a specific user account and that accounts password is changed, the service logon property must be updated with the new password or that service
    may lock out the account.
    Internet Information Services:
By default, IIS uses a token-caching mechanism that locally caches user account authentication information. If lockouts are limited to users who try to gain access
to Exchange mailboxes through Outlook Web Access and IIS, you can resolve the lockout by resetting the IIS token cache. For more information, see "Mailbox Access via OWA Depends on IIS Token Cache" in the
    Microsoft Knowledge Base.
    MSN Messenger and Microsoft Outlook:
If a user changes their domain password through Microsoft Outlook and the computer is running MSN Messenger, the client may become locked out. To resolve this behavior,
see "MSN Messenger May Cause Domain Account Lockout After a Password Change" in the
    Microsoft Knowledge Base.

this is really odd that you are getting the warning for the "http://go.microsoft.com". Typically this error is when you hitting the server with IP address or Server Name, or any other address which is not registered into the AAM. Usually its easy to

  • Addresses of Computers and AirPort Extreme Stations Randomly Swapping

    Hi All:
While I count myself a Mac power user, All Things Network-Related is Kryptonite to my Apple chops. Indiana Jones had snakes--me, I've got the deep ju-ju of networking. So any wisdom that can sent my way will be appreciated.
I have a number of Macs in my house as well as a household-wide wireless network of original AirPort Extreme stations. For the past two years I've also used an original Mac Mini as a lightweight server and website host for work-related writing. For the last 24 months things have work flawlessly, but now the addresses of the computers and the AirPort stations have begun swapping with each other for no good reason--no software upgrades, no power outages.
At no point has there been a problem seeing the MacMini server on the network, nor have I had any wireless problems or difficulties in accessing the Internet. Wireless printing also works just fine.
But because I also use the MacMini server to host a handful of work-related websites, the shifting addresses of the AirPort Stations and the computers is playing havoc with my port mapping. (FYI: I use a DNS service to give the MacMini a "static" address) Each time I remap the ports to the the new address of the MacMini server and test it, it works fine. And then--within hours--the MacMini has grabbed itself another address and thus the port mappings are wrong once again. (Again, the address swapping is not limited to just the MacMini--it ripples through many of the base stations and computers in the household.)
The interesting thing is that in the often-short interval between the remapping and discovering the MacMini server has grabbed itself new address, nothing odd has happened--no power outages, no rebooting of the MacMini, no DSL failure. Nothing of note whatsoever.
My question is twofold. First, what can be done to stop the galloping, seemingly random address swapping and, second, could someone explain to me (very carefully and very slowly) why this might be happening and the possible triggering events?
Once again, thanks in advance for any assistance. As capable as I am in terms of other aspects of Macs, networking issues are deep, mysterious and smack me stone-cold stupid just contemplating them . . .

    Hi
Assign the macmini a fixed IP address in the same range as the DHCP Server. Portmap what you need to that IP address. Now you know that that IP address won't change as you have assigned it permanently. Neither will it be handed out by the DHCP Server as it will 'sense' it being in use. You could also reserve that IP address and make it a Static Route using the MAC address of your MacMini. Thats if your Router supports Static Routing.
Its happening because your DHCP Server (presumably the router) is handing out IP addresses as computers are switched on and are assigned an IP address from the its list of assignable IP addresses (if there is such a word as assignable).

  • Mid 2009 13.3" Macbook Pro random freezing issue

    Hi all,
I had a 2009 13.3" Unibody Macbook and last week purchased a 13.3" Macbook Pro. I had installed 4GB of RAM in the MB myself, and it had worked fine for the month I owned it.
I backed up my MB with an external USB hard drive using Time machine, restored from this backup on my MBP and moved the 4GB RAM over.
When using the MBP I get random freezes lasting between 1 and 3 seconds, occuring every 5 to 30 minutes.
Could someone please advise a good way to diagnose this problem further? I am guessing it is not the RAM as it worked fine whilst in the MB.

    I have an update!
I made an appointment with a local Apple Genius Bar and talked to a technian. He said it was neither the RAM nor the Hard Drive at fault.
His only thoughts were that a software issue was the root cause. I have been doing some serious investigating this morning and figured it out. Viewing system.log in Console shows:
SMS::infiniteIntTimerEventHandler ERROR: we have infinite interrupts, disabling
At exactly 5 minute intervals. These correlate with the freezes (to the second).
SMS refers to the Apple Sudden Motion Sensor. I disabled this by doing "sudo pmset -a sms 0" in Terminal, rebooted and everything is fine.
I have no idea why the SMS thinks the Macbook is falling every 5 minutes, but when it occures the hard drive heads are locked down to prevent damage, which is a perfect reason as to why iTunes would crash but Spotify (streaming internet music) does not.
    Problem solved!
    Edit:
In reply to some questions posted by other members (thank you by the way).
I did install EFI 1.7 update. I did not use the Migration assistance. At some point I will do a fresh install then pick and choose parts from a backup rather than using a full Time Machine Restore. This could still have been the root cause of the issue, but it is hard to tell.
    Thanks guys!

  • Email randomly not sending, no error message, Email GONE

    Hello,
This has happened multiple times, seemingly at random, and it is EXTREMELY frustrating.
I will compose my email, hit send, I get the 'whoosh' sound, little spinning wheel next to the Wifi/LTE logo, etc., and... nothing. The email never arrives, it's not in my sent folder, it's like it never existed. It's just GONE. The only way I can tell if a message has sent or not is to go check my sent folder every time. I had some pretty important emails get eaten like this before I even figured out it was happening, which I'm sure you can imagine did nothing good for my reputation.
It has happened with big emails and small emails, emails sent from several different accounts, and it seems to happen about 30% of the time. I can't figure out any pattern to it. I'm watching the wheel turn now after 15 minutes of waiting for a 2MB message to send (4 photos at "large" compression and 2 medium paragraphs of text), so it seems like it's trying to send, but I don't see a drafts or outbox folder anywhere. My Wifi connection is fine and other apps on my phone are loading data quickly and easily.
I just quit Mail and the email is officially gone. No more spinning wheel, nothing in any of my sent folders (I checked them all).
The fact that it works sometimes and not others seems to suggest my settings are correct. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There have been a few other people to have reported this problem, but there has been no consistent solution for me on my Macbook Air 13" 2012, running 10.8.4.
What happens is this: while typing, the built-in keyboard and trackpad will suddenly lock up at the same time, randomly, intermittently, and for just a few seconds before returning to normal. This has been true through all the updates of 10.8.x since I bought the system last year.
During the freeze, one of the three behaviors occurs:
    1) both keyboard and trackpad are completely unresponsive
    2) both keyboard and trackpad get really slow, with high latency. Keys pressed show up much later or have to be pressed several times before registering. Trackpad is jumpy if it moves at all.
    3) key gets stuck, sometimes the BACKSPACE key, which usually results in several dozen emails getting deleted or entire paragraphs, or rows and rows of the same stuck key. Pressing other keys does nothing.
I've spoken online with various other people who have the same problem and confirmed that the built-in keyboard and trackpad seem to be joined together whenever this problem strikes. You never see one freeze without the other also freezing.
Also, these commonly-recommended solutions don't work:
    a) Reset PRAM. Done this many times. Does nothing.
    b) Bring it in to Apple. Did this too. They replaced the keyboard and trackpad but the problem remains.
    c) Clearing caches in safe mode. No improvement.
    d) Removing "com.google.keystone.deamon.plist" and "com.google.keystone.agent.plist" doesn't seem to work either, even though the errors and behavior are exactly the same for me as for george.e.gonzalez in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19702976#19702976
These files do come back, though, thanks to Google Software Update. The keystone software appears to be part of Google Chrome, although I cannot confirm this.
    e) I DO have Google Android File Transfer installed like one other person reported; they said uninstalling it fixed the problem. Unfortunately, that has not worked for me. Also, Android File Transfer is installed (same version 1.0.50.2266, same Mac OS 10.8.4) on an older 2008 Macbook, and it works fine, which points to something on just this Macbook Air as being the cause.
    f) I don't use the Radio Silence firewall app--can't remove it.
    g) I don't have the telldus device or whatever it is, so I don't have the "com.telldus.service.plist" to remove.
    h) Completely clearing out /Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchDaemons, and /Library/StartupItems doesn't do anything.
    i) Repairing permissions or repairing the volume does nothing.
    j) Reinstalling the OS fresh does nothing.
    k) I don't have an external trackpad, mouse, or keyboard for testing while the freezing happens, but the machine itself seems to be working, just not the built-in input devices, which are on the same USB bus.
    l) Pressing ESC does not stop the key stuck situation, as it does for some people.
It feels to me like a hardware problem, not an OS problem, and it feels like a USB bus issue. I have noticed that when I insert USB flash drives, I get the same lock-up for a few seconds, something which my other Macs don't do.
I've also noticed various USB errors in the Console around the same time (same as george.e.gonzalez):
    7/26/13 1:20:04.000 AM kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_deviceGetReport - DeviceRequest for reportID 0x0 returned with result 0xe000404f - retrying
    7/26/13 1:20:05.000 AM kernel[0]: USBF:          844075.636          AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80157f1000]::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 0x1a, timing out! (Addr: 2, EP: 0)
But I'm not able to precisely correlate these errors to the pause.
Is anybody else having this problem that can shed more light on it than these other suggested repairs? This has been frustrating for quite a while, but I've had the stuck BACKSPACE key delete hundreds of emails on a webmail platform that I was unable to recover using Undo and out of the trash, and that's just no longer tolerable...
Thank you, thank you, thank you, if anyone can help me fix this!

    Hi, Dan--
Nope, none of those four... I do have Dropbox but never installed it on this machine. The other three are services I've never signed up for.
I am basically using these apps up-front:
Mail.app, Safari, Notes, Terminal, maybe LibreOffice 4.0.x, maybe Sublime Text 2, Console.
And the freezes happen about twice a day, usually when I'm in Mail or Terminal, but that's because those are the ones where I'm typing the most and can see immediately when the freezes happen. It could be happening even more frequently while I'm browsing, but I might not know it because I'm merely reading what's on the screen.
This is a list from Activity Monitor of what I'm using right now, which is very typical of what I use all day:
