Using N86. When in Drive mode, if I press the 6 key some bars appear on the screen. Is this the gps signal indicator.
Pressing 6 during drive navigation adjusts the voice guidance volume, so it's the volume indicator which you see, not the gps signal indicator.

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR. This is not normal. I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution. If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

Problem with RSA/AES and the wrapped Key
Hallo!
For a server-client communications, I would like to use a hybrid encryption.
For this I create an object of a serializable class that contains several properties, including the data that are to be transferred from A to B (Object, encrypted by AES), and the AES key, but wrapped by RSA (byte []).
My basic problem is, that if I send the wrapped key, I get at the destination another byte array and thus the key can not be decoded:
java.security.InvalidKeyException: Invalid AES key length: 256 bytes
When I look at the string representation of the byte array before sending and immediate after receiving, the byte arrays are diffrent. Why?

1. Don't do this. The general problem has been solved. The solution is called TLS, and Java provides a API called the JSSE for you to use.
2.If you insist on rolling your own, don't specify NoPadding. Use PKCS1Padding. If you are going to use NoPadding, then you must provide your own padding scheme, which you have not. -
When sending email wether reply or fwd or new addresses drop down that not show in my contacts. How do,I remove them and how did they get there? And the edit key notmshowing in my contacts.

I've been reading a lot around this and it seems the arrow key problem is a red herring; I think it's just some kind of terminal preferences corruption. -
my "go to in point" and "go to out point" keyboard shortcuts are not working, and the default keys aren't either? any help would be amazing! I use these keys a million times a hour and since I have switched to cc I cant get them to work. track selection makes no difference or if there are markers on the timeline or not.
Anyone else feel me on this?
any help?Well that still didn't make any kind of difference. I would just do without it but I've becomes really use to it with Avid for so long. I have to admit there are a lot of small moments like this that makes me miss Avid. Any other suggestions? I have checked the keyboard shortcuts a few times and maybe I'm just missing something here...

What, if anyting, does pressing the windows flag key and the "r" key do?
Last night some one with a very strong accent called, addressing me by name, saying he had been contracted to contact people and warn them of a serious problem that affecting many computers. He wanted me to press my windows flag key and the "r" key at the same time. Stupid me did, but then became suspicious and hung up on him. He never called back, and I turned my computer off. Did I give him access to something? What do I need to do?

View Solution.I'm sure that was a scam call, but you hung up before they could do anything malicious to your computer. Pressing the Windows key + R just brings up the "Run" screen. It is completely harmless to bring up "Run," but if you had continued to follow all the steps this guy was about to give you, he probably would have tried to gain remote access to your computer or load a virus or some other awfulness. I'm glad you hung up on him!

My MacBook Pro keyboard is giving trouble. The 0,p,;,/ and the enter key, needs to be pressed several times before registering. Help me please??
If you are still under warranty and/or have AppleCare, call them. Let them deal w/it. Out of warranty, your keyboard may need cleaning. Use a vacuum hose or a can of compressed air to get the dirt out from under the keys. For instructions to remove the keys if it comes to that check out the following websites:

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

My Ipod touch froze and now the screen showa a symbol like a tiny flower. I have tried to re-start it by holding down the on/off switch and the selections key together for 10 seconds but nothing happens. Ithe Ipod does not show on Itunes but shows in My Computer. When plugged into USB the Ipod gets warm.

Help with understanding SSL on Netweaver 7.1 and the relevant key stores.
I am having a great difficulty in understanding how SAP manages and uses SSL certificates in Netweaver 7.1. More specifically, what the difference is between System, Server, and Client.
As I can see, there are three PSE key stores I see within STRUST.
1. SSL System PSE
2. SSL Server PSE
3. SSL Client PSE
The System PSE I believe is installed by default and enables the systems to communicate between each other, such as Application Servers and the Central Instance.
The Server PSE is the where I store the certificate I generated and had signed by a CA (certificate authority). It contains a root and intermediate certificate and both have been imported back into the Server PSE store. When partners connect to me and I agree to accept server only authentication, it is this cert that identifies my server as a trusted server the partner. Do I need to add the partneru2019s u201Crootu201D or u201Cintermediateu201D certs to my Server PSE in order to allow SSL login?
The Client PSE is where I store partneru2019s client certificates that I allow to login via u201Cclientu201D authentication. Without their key installed in this store, they will not be allowed to login via SSL.
When I wish to make connections to partners, I will take my Server key from the Server PSE, export the key, and send it to the partner so they can import it in their key store.
Does the above sounds right? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I also have questions about how and if certificates are synchronized from the ABAP stack (STRUST) to the JAVA stack (Netweaver Administrator), as keys can be stored in either direction. If not, does where you store the certificate depend if it is an ABAP or JAVA type connection?hi michael,

please be careful - actually, there is NO SSL System PSE.<br />
There is only a so called "System PSE", which is not at all related to SSL.<br />

The PSEs actually available for SSL as default are:<br />

- the SSL Server PSE (which is a rather complicated construction ... see below) [mandatory]<br />
- the SSL Client PSE (standard) <br />
- the SSL Client PSE (anonymous)<br />

Looking at connections using HTTPS/SSL, you always have two communication partners: an entity issuing a request, named the "client", and another entity, to which the request is sent in order to be responded to, named the "server".
Since an SAP ABAP system can be either client or server in this setup, we have the chance to provide different security environments (= PSE) for these communication roles.<br />

When the SAP system initializes a HTTPS communication, it will make use of one of the SSL Client PSEs. These PSEs mainly serve the purpose of storing the CA certificates that are trusted. Only servers whose server certificate is signed by a CA where the CA root certificate is contained in the SSL Client PSE can be connected to. If the server's certificate is not trusted, the error message "verification of the server's certificate chain faile" will appear in the ICM trace (see note 1094342).<br />

The difference between SSl Client PSEs "standard" and "anonymous" is the actual certificate - the "anonymous" PSE always contains the distinguished name (DN) "CN=anonymous", which can not be used for client authentication. In contrast, the "standard" PSE's DN can be defined freely, so this PSE can be signed by a CA and furthermore used for client authentication.<br />

Now for the SSL Server PSE.<br />
As mentioned already, the SSL Server PSE can be a complicated thing ... actually, this PSE is only a container for more PSEs. There must be at least the "default" PSE (unfortunately also called "standard"), and there can be up to 1 PSE for each application server.<br />
In a standard setup, the default PSE is used only for those cases where no application server specific PSE applies. The application server specific PSEs are supposed to be the ones that are actually used by the ICM.<br />

What does "up to 1 per AS" mean? Well - as soon as two SSL Server PSEs use the same DN, these PSEs are no longer distinguished, and will be mapped to the same PSE data (key pair, certificate list). So, if you define the same DN for several application servers, only one PSE is created and used by both application servers.<br />

the built-in keyboard on my macbook is not functioning right, the number keys when pushed display the special characters instead of the numbers,
the caps button doesn't work at all, the letter buttons display capitals when pushed whether the caps button is on or off, the shift keys are also out of whack!!
It seems it somehow got relocated to the "0" button because if you push and hold the zero button down the keyboard seems to operate normally, the number keys display numbers when pushed the letter keys display lower case when pushed but release the zero button and your back in the twilight zone!! Can anybody help me resolve this issue? one more thing im using an external usb keyboard right now and it seems to function properly if that helps any.You would do better in the actual macbook pro forums (this is not).
