Maps 3.09: Deletion / Bypassing of route waypoint ...

Hi,
the option to delete a route waypoint while in drive mode should be readded. At the moment it is not possible to continue on the planned route, when a route is not started at the first waypoint due to missposition or if it doesn't detect an intermediate point and wants to reroute back to it.

I also used this this feature very much in the older 3.08 version. Please developers put it back in vers. 3.09!
It would also be useful to have a tracking system (blue line as driven route) on the drive mode, which could be converted on the PC, where I could change/delete waypoint on ovimap/pc or directly on the device. Sometimes I ride along nice roads, which I want to convert to routes.

Map Place Additions/Deletions Not Saved

If I manually add or remove places on a map page in a book using the + - functionality, the changes don't get permanently saved. Does anyone know why? iPhoto remembers them OK.
If I add a photo to a map page by dragging it into a photo field, it remembers that place and adds it to the map (using the GPS data). If I later remove that content (i.e. photo) it also refuses to save that deletion on the map. I want the map to show a selection of places on my travel route, not necessarily just the ones where I took photos.
Both additions and deletions appear OK until I change the project or view (e.g. select Viewer, or quit the app etc.). Any thoughts?

I have discovered what the problem is. It looks like a bug!
Sequence of Events:
1. I used the map template 1-Up w/Map.
2. I then dragged a few different photos into the photo frame. This added the GPS locations from the photos to the map.
3. I then deleted the photo frame using the Edit Layout controls.
4. I tried to add and removed (manually) places on the map.
5. Aperture remembered the original places from the original photo frame, but not any places I subsequently added or removed manually (using the + - functions in the list of places).
To solve this problem I deleted the map page, then inserted a new 1-Up w/Map page, then deleted the photo frame before I did anything. Adding/removing places using the + - manual functions then worked perfectly.

Any way to bypass the router?

Hi, I'm wondering if there's a way for me to run my internet connection through my router yet bypass it entirely at the same time. I've got the WRT54GS and my brother needs the wireless connection for his laptop, but I'm wired into it through the LAN port and am having problems with various programs and web-based apps. Obviously we're sharing the one internet connection, but I simply want to bypass the router settings so I don't have to deal with the firewall and ports and everything else.
Sorry if this has been asked a million times before -- I've honestly searched for an answer and haven't found it.

Yeah, it's just that I've spent way too much time already trying to figure out all the settings and stuff; I'm not that computer savvy and I just don't have the patience or free time to do this anymore. Of course I can appreciate what a router is capable of doing in the hands of someone with a great deal more knowledge of them than I, but honestly I was completely happy with the way things were a few weeks ago when I didn't have the thing and I'd be entirely satisfied with this switch setup you mentioned. Unfortunately I don't know what a switch is.
Any insight into what I should be looking at purchasing would be more than helpful.
Also, from your suggestion, I'm also assuming there's no way of simply turning off all the router settings and stuff for the router's LAN port or whatever?

Mavericks Maps: can't delete directions

Hi there,
Mavericks Maps seems to keep the all directions/routes in the right hand directions window. Is there a way to delete the old directions/routes history so that the directions window is not "poluted" with stuff nobody needs anymore?

Click on the "Contacts" icon just to the left of the search field. Click on "Recents" and then click the "Clear" button. If you have places you want to get directions for again, add them as bookmarks. Bookmarks can be individually deleted.

How do I stop iTunes mapping to a deleted directory?

When I open iTunes on my PC, every song title I have is duplicated - one maps correctly to the location of the song but the other maps to an old directory that has been deleted and no longer exists in the file structure. When I select the one with the broken link I get the message that says the song can't be found, which is fine. I then delete that version of the song in iTunes and that title disappears leaving only the correct one. Even if I follow this process for every song (over 10,000 duplicates!) when I then log off and re-launch iTunes, all the duplicate songs with the broken links re-appear. Is there a way to stop iTunes looking to map to the old directory? Or any other suggestions?

I decided that doing the same thing over and over while hoping for a different outcome was....insane. I opted for that other option--set up as a new device or what ever that choice is. Low and behold everything turned out just as it was supposed to. So all is ok in the world.

Ovi maps - is that really the fastest route?

I am using the Ovi maps through my N8.
I recently travelled from Barrow to Newcastle and when I punched this into Ovi maps it said it would take over 3 hours. It never takes that long and when I looked at the details of the route it was not taking me my normal way.
I ignored the Ovi maps directions and it eventually it re-routed and cut 30 minutes off the time.
This has happened several times. After changing to fastest route and optimized route Ovi maps still takes me the oddest way to most destinations.
Has anyone else come across this? If I cannot resolve it I may be going back to my Tomtom.

I tried to reproduce your routing issue with the online maps from Ovi, Google and Bing are giving me the same route, which is this one:

Google maps is not showing roads and routes when I try to get directions

When using google maps to get directions the roads disappear and routes do not show.

But are you shutting down Firefox properly...

How to delete the approvals routing (All, Serial)?

I´m using Oracle Portal 9i, defining the approvals to manage portal´s content, and have some problem:
When i´m choosing the specific routing method (All.serial), which the corect procedure for delete this step? Im asking this reason because this step are loked and cannot be excluded or edited.

When i disable the approvals on the configure steps and enble that process again, the approaval chain All, Serial continue locked (lock icon) and not be deleted or edited.
All of other steps can be deletable and editable, except the step All, Serial. Why??

When I right-click on a file "Move to Trans", I get the following message: "Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." It then deletes bypassing the trash can.

CA02: Delete Operation from Routing

Hello,
My question is: how can i delete an operation from routing, like in CA02, but using FM or BAPI and avoiding Batch Input?
Right now it's done with Batch input, but when there is more than one routing per material it crashes, due to extra screens.

if you have created operation through CA01 then
Go to CA02-- Select your operation and then header manu Edit--Delete or use (Shift+F2) and save it.
If in CO01 production order then in operation details screen and select your operation and delete it.

Um, there are loads of other map options in the App Store. MapQuest and Waze are just two of many. And you can still have Google maps, just not as a native app. To create an app location for Google maps on your home screen, go to Safari and type maps.google.com
This will open Google Maps. Once open, Google puts a box just above the up arrow on the bottom to create a shortcut on your home page. Once on your home page, you open Google Maps, as though it were the built in App.
Correction: Above are iPhone Directions
For iPad, once Google Maps open, touch the forward (box with right facing arrow) and choose the Add to Home Screen option.
Or, you can just pout and threaten to throw your device away. Your choice.
