Maps Bookmarking: Possible to create folders?

In Safari, I can create folders for my bookmarks and even reorder the folders by tapping "Edit". I would find it very useful to organize my Maps bookmarks in a similar fashion (by locale, for instance). Yet I don't see any way to create bookmark folders in Maps. Does anyone have any info on this?

No, that's not possible, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.

  • Is it possible to create folders of music in the new z

im thinking of buying the new Zen 8GBand the main thing that bother me is the categorized musici want to know if is it possible to create new folders with the newest music i uploaded with various of artistsand not let the mp3 player to categorize and mix the music with the old artists songs...i hope ur getting the picture haha?thank you

Well, the new Zen comes with the SD card and if you want it to play based on folders, you can load your music up on the SD card in the respecti've folders then on the Zen use the 'Memory Card' option and select 'Browse Folder' and select the folder to play.
I actually find the concept of not integrating the SD card to the internal albums to be a great plus point for this machine.
I hate it especially for my own recordings or those albums with mismatched ID3 tags and the songs are all over the place. The SD card option solves this own problem.

  • Is it possible to create folders in Finder from bins in Premiere?

    Hi there.
I'm working on an incredibly organised project in which there are a few hundred different sequences arranged in bins & 'sub-bins'. Once editing is complete I plan to batch export all sequences and  to have the exports saved in the same folder structure as the bins in Premiere. Is this possible?
I'm running the latest version of Premiere CC on a late 2013 MacBook Pro i7 16gb ram.
    Thank you in advance!

Well I wanted to have all of my exports go to a folder (in finder, not a bin in Premiere) that is named the same and in the same folder structure of the bins I have in Premiere. This would save me from having to reorganise all my exports, of which there is a pretty huge amount, once they have exported.
I ended up just doing it manually by exporting everything to one folder then manually arranging the exports into folders which I also had to manually create in finder.
Thanks for the info Jim, really appreciate it.

  • Creating folders in playlists for burning to CD

    Hi
Is it possible to create folders within a playlist for burning cd's with about 8 albums on in mp3 format so that it is easier to direct access a particular album on the disc rather than start at track 1 & keep skiping until you reach say the 5th album which will be about track 60 & so on & so on, I have no problems burning the files to disc but like ive explained it just shows as about 160 tracks but no individual folders for each album
    many thanks

  • Create folders in "Home videos"

    Hello everyone,
I have quite a lot of videos in the "home videos" folder and it does not look very organized.
Does anybody know if it is possible to create folders in the "home videos" folder itself, in order to organize videos. For example create a folder which says "pets" and add all the videos of my pets there?
I know I could mark them as "TV shows" but I do not want to mix my home videos with TV shows as I have quite a lot of TV shows too.
Or is there any other way to organize many, many videos on a Mac?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

No, there are no folders or groups in After Effects.  It is one of the most requested features (from where I'm sitting) for After Effects.
After Effects allows you to Precompose layers.  So, lets say you animate your 25 individual raindrops, and then you want to change the colour of the raindrops from blue to green.  You COULD apply a colour correction filter to each raindrop layer.  But you could also precompose (or "nest") those layers into their own composition.  The pre comp is a single layer in your main composition, which you can then apply the filter to just once.  You can still edit the raindrops individually inside their pre comp.
A frequently requested feature, known as "uber twirl", would allow you to twirl(expand) a pre comp open inside a main comp to edit each individual layer without leaving the main timeline.  We live in hope!
Don't forget to post your feature requests to the AE team.  It's a popularity contest - the most popular requests are the most likely to make it into future versions.

  • IPhone4 : How to create folders in the mail application

In the email application i don't know if it is possible to create folders in order to file and keep emails

If you have an IMAP account, then you can create them on the mail server and they will be on iphone.
If you have a POP account, then you cannot.

  • How to create folders in books/ itunes

I have a lot of pdf's in my books /itunes, is it possible to create folders in books/itunes

You can only create folders or mailboxes if your email account is an IMAP account. It will not work with POP email.
If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would have synced to the device when you created the account on the iPad.

  • Pages: creating folders within folders

Using Pages in iWork on a MacBook (system 10.9.4), is it possible to create folders within folders? Dragging one document  and dropping it on another one isn't working within a folder.

That is an iOS method, not an OSX method.
command shift n creates a new folder in Finder or in a Save dialog, then move or save the file into that folder.

  • Wanted: iPhone/iPod Touch Maps bookmark folders

Is there any way to create folders to organize my bookmarked locations in Maps? II want to organize them to reduce the amount of scrolling I currently have to do. I'd love to be able to group places by city or activity. Wouldn't it be great to be able to group all the locations you visited on vacation in one folder and then be able to e-mail them to friends and family? If folders can be created for Safari bookmarks, why not for Maps?
And while I'm asking, is there a way to ship the bookmarks to Google Maps or, better yet, Google Earth?
    Thanks.

Since this is a user to user forum, you may want to put the request to Apple:

  • How Do You Create Folders for Bookmarks on the Bookmark page?

I would like to take some of the bookmarks I have created on the IPT and place them into some kind of folder collection. Can this be done? I'm sure it is a simple solution, but it escapes me.

Yes, this can be done. While looking at your bookmarks, touch Edit in the bottom left corner. Then, click new folder, type in a name, and click Bookmarks in the upper left. Do this for as many folders as you wish. Click Done when you are finished. Then you will need to recreate the bookmarks and save them into the appropriate folders, or, while in the edit menu, tap the bookmarks individually and change where they are saved.

  • I can no longer create folders for my bookmarks?

    Mac OS 10.6.8 - FF 8.0.1
I have tried to create an additional folder for my bookmarked items and there seems to be no way to do so. Also there seems to be many changes that were unnecessary. Change just for the sake of change is not good without improvements.

    Thanks Cor-el,
Who would have ever guessed? Why in the world do they change things up in such a state of confusion. I already have sidebars showing but who knew that is now where you create folders. I have easily created at least 70 folders in the past. It was so easy to go to the BOOKMARKS menu and select SHOW ALL BOOKMARKS which then showed BOOKMARKS MENU where you could edit or organize bookmarks including creating new folders.
That worked so someone thought ‘oh no’ we must change so my name will be on the change. I have been 6 months without being able to create bookmark folders.
Holding the 'cntrl' key down was a 'guess where we put it situation'.
Change is not good if there is no benefit to the change like maybe ‘more efficiency’.
Ease of use and simplicity are the keys to success.
Come on guys stay with what works.

  • User Unable to Create Folders on Mapped Network Drive

I have a user who is unable to create folders in a directory where she should have all the necessary permissions to do so.  She is a member of an AD group, and the effective permissions for that group include everything except:
    Full control
    Change permissions
    Take ownership
The permissions are inherited from two levels up the tree.  So I went to the level from which the permissions are inherited and selected the "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" option in order
to force the permissions to be reapplied to the child objects.  That fixed the issue for about half a day.  The issue came back and as far as I can tell nothing was changed--she still appears to have sufficient permissions to create folders, and
yet she cannot.  In fact, I established a remote connection to her machine and tried it myself (under her account) and was not able to create a folder at any level in the tree.
I have confirmed that one other user who is in the same AD group can create folders at any level of the directory tree.  I have also confirmed that no explicit permissions are set on any of the folders in the tree.  So the two users have the same
effective permissions, yet it works for one and not the other.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    --Tom

My apologies for letting this issue set for so long.  I got waylaid by a series of other more pressing issues and had to push this one to the back burner for a while, but I was able to come back to it and get it resolved today.  I wanted to report
back for the benefit of others who may be reading this thread in the future.
I think there were two separate issues:
Conflicting permissions.  The user was a member of two groups--one that grants the permissions needed and one that grants more restricted access.  Her user account was also listed on the folder with more restrictive permissions than the groups.
She needs full access, so I removed her user ID and the more restrictive of the two groups.
It appears that the changes were not getting written to the subfolders.  One of my co-workers suggested that I add her user ID with full control, make sure that change was made on all the subfolders, and then remove her user ID again and make
sure the removal was made on all the subfolders, just to verify that the changes were getting written to the subfolders.  That worked.
I'm not sure why the second step was necessary, since the first step should have been sufficient to force the permissions to be re-written on the subfolders, but I could not get it working without doing both of these steps.
Thanks for the help on this issue, and again, my apologies for taking so long to get back to the group on this.

  • Is it possible to create a DVD in iDVD without using the themes they provide?

Is it possible to create a DVD in iDVD without using the themes they provide?

    Hi
    No Menu DVD
    from. Mishmunken
How to create a DVD in iDVD6 without menu (there are several options)
    1. Easy. Drop your iMovie in the auto-play box in iDVD's Map View, then set your auto-play item (your movie) to loop continuously.
Disadvantage. The DVD plays until you hit stop on the remote
    2. Still easy. If you don't want your (auto-play) movie to loop, you can create a black theme by replacing the background of a static theme with a black background and no content in the drop-zone (text needs to be black as well).
Disadvantage. The menu is still there and will play after the movie. You don't see it, but your disc keeps spinning in the player.
    3. Still quite easy but takes more time. Export the iMovie to DV tape, and then re-import using One-Step DVD.
Disadvantage. One-Step DVD creation has been known to be not 100% reliable.
    4. (My preferred method) Easy enough but needs 3rd party software. Toast lets you burn your iMovie to DVD without menu - just drag the iMovie project to the Toast Window and click burn.
Disadvantage. you'll need to spend some extra $$ for the software. In Toast, you just drop the iMovie project on the Window and click Burn.
    5. The "hard way". Post-production with myDVDedit (free-ware)
    Tools necessary. myDVDedit ( www.mydvdedit.com )
    • create a disc image of your iDVD project, then double-click to mount it.
    • Extract the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a location of your choice. select the VIDEO_TS folder and hit Cmd + I to open the Inspector window
    • Set permissions to "read & write" and include all enclosed items; Ignore the warning.
    • Open the VIDEO_TS folder with myDVDedit. You'll find all items enclosed in your DVD in the left hand panel.
    • Select the menu (usually named VTS Menu) and delete it
    • Choose from the menu File > Test with DVD Player to see if your DVD behaves as planned. If it works save and close myDVDedit.
    • Before burning the folders to Video DVD, set permissions back to "read only", then create a disc image burnable with Disc Utility from a VIDEO_TS folder using Laine D. Lee's DVD Imager.
