Maps improvement program

Could someone tell me exactly what data is collected as part of the improvement program and how this is used by Navteq and / or Ovi and how fast improvements are implemented? It seems to me that whilst Ovi maps has improved there are still too many instances where the routing is erratic and performance wise it lags behind some of its competitors.
A good example recently where the outbound journey was 85 miles yet the return suggested 116, upon deviating to my preferred (and outbound) route the predicted journey time dropped by some 25 minutes or so despite traffic conditions being the same.

Hi,
I`ve installed acrobat reader 9 on a Citrix environment.
Users keep receiving the Improvement Program"" even though they have selected that they won't participate.
Who has a clue to set this off for all of our Citrix users by default?

How can we disable the 'Improvement Program' from all the apps in TCS5?

How can we disable the 'Improvement Program' from all the apps in TCS5, so that the end users are not able to see the option in the help menu?
We have tried changing the value of bUsageMeasurement (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\FeatureLockdown) to zero, but it did not help.

You’re probably going to have to contact Support on that one.

I am trying to find a good sales territory mapping software program that will allow one to draw a territory by selecting zip codes, counties, etc. (but I really need it to be able to handle zip codes). Does anyone know of any software for the mac?

I use the Badger Map on the Mac and iPad for this. Its great for mapping territories, and for helping the reps manage the territory.

How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt from coming up every time I open Photoshop CS5 on my Mac, even after I have responded that I do not want to participate? This is becoming very annoying and I have looked on line for a method to turn this off without luck.

It only asks once.
So it sounds like your preferences might not be getting saved for some reason (usually a permissions problem on your system)..

What is "Maps Improvement" in settings

If you go to settings and then choose navigation at the bottom is "Maps Improvement", which is set to ON. Can anyone explain what this is please.

You need to be on online mode and signed in to your Ovi account for that to work. Any improvement Nokia has added to their online map will automatically be downloaded to your phone even if these improvements are not yet available on pre-downloadable files. Ovi Maps would have that new road downloaded if the developers have added it into the servers.

Stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt from appearing

How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement program prompt from constantly popping up whenever I open a pdf?      I've tried to follow all the instructions to disable but to no avail.    When I go to Help and try to follow the path, I can't get to anywhere to de-select participation.   What can I do, this is very disruptive and wasn't occurring two weeks ago, but now all the time??

Thanks for the response.   I’ve done this before, and I’ve just tried it again, and it doesn’t change anything.
If I go to “Help” and choose “Improvement Program Options” it simply brings me back to the popup window that asks “Help Improve the Adobe Reader Experience” asking for permission to include me in the program.   This window offers these two options:
“Yes I would like to help make Reader even better”
“No, thank you”
Then I can choose one of three actions
“OK”
“Remind Me Later”
“Cancel”
No matter which one I choose it doesn’t change anything, next time I try to view a pdf this same window popsup again asking me to participate in the improvement program.
This wasn’t like this two weeks ago, it just started and without me changing any settings on my computer.
What am I missing?

So far as I know, the only way to make these features non-functioning is to detach the computer from the internet.

Looking to improve programming skills

I had been programming since I was 12 years old. I have started out with html then to xhtml and then to java. I am now 17 years old. I had gone to my fathers house and there are some relatives of my dads girlfriend. There are 2 programmers that I know. One works for IBM making chips doing chip design and the other one Has a degree in computer science. I had told them what I was doing in java and told them that I wanted to improve my understanding of it. they had told me to learn Machine Language or assembly language. The question is does that sound right to you to learn machine language? They said it would help anyone who is programming to program better because I'll know what every function does and i'll have a better understanding of everything.

Donald Knuth has a series of 3 (4?) books called "The Art of Computer Programming" in which he uses a fictitious machine language called (I believe) "MIX". He uses machine language because it really allows you to understand the cost of various operations. You may find that these books are over your head (hell, they're probably over the head of 98% of Comp Sci graduates, myself included), but I bring it up to illustrate a point - the machine language you use really isn't that important.
Is learning a machine language the correct step for you now? Probably not, but there is value in it, even if you never "use" it as a professional language. Being well-aquainted w/ machine language helps you to map what's happening in a high-level programming language to what's actually happening inside the computer. That is really valuable.

Map search program for Snow Leopard

Does anybody recommend a good mapping application? I would like to be able to print out current street maps. The business I work for does store grand openings. I find that not all sites such as Map Quest, Google Earth, etc. are not all current. I'll print out 3 maps from 3 sites and they could all be different.

Same thing happens with GPS software. Some models & brands are better than other yet, none will provide the same driving directions.
The mapping programs you have tested so far, I would go with the ones that provides the most correct or current mappings.

Making a map layout program in vs for a popular andriod game

Okay,
I'm just starting to get into c# programming in vs, and I've run into some problems with what I am trying to create.
Purpose of it.
1. Let my guild mates enter in their numbers (see below picture)
2. When they hit to map it brings up another form that has a picture-box that is 57x57 cube squares that I made in excel.
3. When it goes to the other form, I want it to pull the info from what they entered and.....
       A. Make X amount of moveable objects from what they enter in, so they can play with their map (the excel pic)
       B. Each item has its own size, some are 1x1 squares, all the way up to 6x6
4. When they click attack range (button) I would like it to put a red circle around the defensive towers with their given attack range, some are 3 square radius, ect ect
Problems that If anyone could help with would be awesome...
1. How do I make moveable objects? (i can either grab a picture of the tower/building but I think the size might be an issue or just use square blocks and color code them)
2. How would I do the button for attack range? (basically just want to throw a circle around the picture/block to give the user an idea of where he is weak)

It will depends on how that map is and how did you get these objects displayed inside that picturebox.
But for moving and resizing controls, you could refer to the following samples.
Move controls on a form at runtime
Move and Resize Controls on a Form at Runtime (With Mouse)
The first sample is easy to use that we just use that class and pass controls to that property, but I would recommend you try the second, because it seems it will fit your project better.

It will depends on how that map is and how did you get these objects displayed inside that picturebox.

I noticed that it needs to pass parameter to another form, then you could consider adding a field or property to the target form, and when showing that form, just pass the parameter to that field or property.
Passing Data Between Forms
You could consider just passing the main form instance follow one of the ways shared in the sample above.

Flash Professional CS5 crashing (Adobe Product Improvement Program)

Everytime I go to start up Flash CS5 the APIP pops up and no matter what option I click it crashes. I looked and saw some fixes for other programs, but those fixes, didnt help for flash.

That should let you disable it in multiple ways if you're comfortable enough using regedit if you're using Windows.

How to disable PowerPiot Customer Experience Improvement Program?

Hi, I have installed PowerPivot for Excel 2010 32bit via msi file.
I would like to disable CEIP from PowerPivot for Excel 2010. So far I have applied HKLM\software\policies\Microsoft\sqmclient\windows\CEIPEnable=0. GP set to disable CEIP. No luck so far. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In addition, to disable CEIP by policy for Excel 2010, you need to set the following registry value.

Adobe product improvement program turn off? photoshop will not launch.

I launched photoshop and a window popped up... "Help improve adobe products" Do not participate Participate
regardless of either one photoshop is all grayed out under the windows and will not start...

Could mean that you do not have sufficient user privileges/ file permissions and the info for your choice cannot be stored, hence it pops back over and over....
