Maps not finding my position

Hi everyone
I have a wifi model 64gb and it's impossible having maps application an other localisation working properly.
It's impossibile finding my position on the map and afte a while i have the "unable to find your position" Message.
I tried different networks. With or without Apple ruoters
I tried to register networks to skyhook
No luck.
On the sane networks iPod touch 2g works perfectly.
It's an iPad problem, i'm sure
Please help me....
Thanks a lot

I had the same problem with my iPad 16g not being able to use any of its location services.  I finally did something crazy.  I was using a 2Wire Gateway from ATT for my wireless network and I got the idea to try something a little different.  I had just recently moved to a new house and still had my old NetGear wireless router, so I plugged my NetGear router into my 2Wire router.  My NetGear is receiving its signal from the 2Wire Gateway, but it is also broadcasting a wireless signal as well.  I took my iPad and connected to the NetGrear signal and guess what?  My iPad was able to locate my location.  Apparently, the NetGear router "transmits" some sort of "location" information that the iPad was able to read.  You might try using a NetGear router for your iPad, or another router in general.  Let me know if this helps.

  • My mac does not find my position in maps

Hi. I reasently discovered that my macbook pro and my ipad 2 are unable to find my current location in maps. I have turned on the feature in settings. It works on my iphone. Anyone who can give me some advise?

    - Reboot the Mac
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Try another USB port
    - Try another cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • Cannot find the ''Positioning Methods'' option on ...

Hello....I have recently bought the C7-00 and I wanted to test my GPS but I could not find the "Positioning Methods'' option to select the A-GPS, so can anyone help on this.
    Thank you.

Do you not have a Location app in your Applications Folder ? As CJ mentioned , that is where you set your location methods to on/off. Inside Location you should have 3 sub folders, Landmarks,GPS data and Positioning. Open Positioning and you should be able to change the settings !

If this is an iCloud account the Outbox only appears when sending an email, so if it is still trying I suppose it should be showing now (not sure though, hard to replicate this)

  • Why is the map not displaying correctly on "find my phone"  I am getting large grid squares on the map

why is the map not displaying correctly on "find my phone"  on my computer.  I am getting large grid squares on the map.  I have tried deleting my history, tried zooming in & out, but the grid squares won't go away..

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It means that it is not connected to the Internet, so it may be turned off. Another option would be that somebody has resetted it to default settings and has changed the Apple ID, being impossible to track your son's iPhone. Anyway, report it to the police because it is the only thing you can do at the moment

  • Debuging mapping - error : Could not find test data for target operators ?

    Hello, Please help me.
I use Oracle Warehouse Builder 10gR2.
I created a cube with two dimensions.
I debugged the mappings of these two dimensions then viewed their data after deployment.
I tried to debug the mapping of the cube, and got the error: Could not find test data for all source and target operators.
For source objects exist test data but for the target operator (cube_out) logically we do not need test data !!!! .
But the error is here: Could not find test data for target operators. Why ??
How to configure or explain to owb that the target operator do not have test data ????
    I need your help.
    thank you in advance.

Sorry, I can not understand your approach ?
I explain you in detail : I work in ROLAP.
I have two dimensions : DIM_1 and DIM_2 linked with the cube (Fact_table).
    I have three mappings : MAP_DIM1, MAP_DIM2, MAP_CUBE.
    For the MAP_CUBE, I have source operator : VIEW_IN and Target operator : CUBE_OUT.
I could see the data dimensions : DIM_1 and DIM_2 after debugging and Deployment in the OLAP schema.
I tried debugged the mapping: MAP_CUBE so I got the error: Could not find test data for all source and target operators.*
    thank you for help.

If Nokia Maps have not been used for a while stored ephemeris GPS data is out of date or similarly if application updated data can become corrupted. You don't mention whether you are hapy for Assisted GPS postioning method to utilise a network access point to contact positioning server = supl.nokia.com or whether relying solely upon the Integrated GPS of device. Try going outside away from tall buildings if feasible, launch Nokia Maps and wait 20 - 30 minutes for it to lock on to position.
It might be an idea to download LeGPSData2 application from Nokia Store so you can keep track of number of satellites acquired:http://store.ovi.com/content/208256

  • Ipad 2 will not find me when i use or maps, but it will in the office - all wireless

My iPad 2 will not find my location when I use Maps when i am out of the office but it will when I am in the office - i use wireless. Location selector is ON.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
my location is found when i am in my office and wireless (don't have 3G)
When i am home and connected to my wireless router - ( and i am connected as i surf the net, get emails etc.) it says it cannot find me.
That's because the location of your home router is not yet in the router location database.

Because governments don't want you moving these satellites around. They already have them positioned where they want them .

  • IDoc TO File: Receiver Determination did not find any receivers at all

    Hi,
We have IDoc to file scenario, where based on attributes present in IDoc we have configured different receivers.
Everything was working fine and files were getting created based on the receiver determination criteria.
But there is one change done in custom IDoc to re position the attributes.
Idoc before changes was having NAME1 and NAME2 above KATR6 and KATR7 and after change it looks like below:
So there is no change in segment and no change in mapping but the attributes KATR6 and KATR7 are used to determine the receiver.
Cache refresh is done for both ESR and ID. I have re - entered the receiver determination criteria just to ensure that change should reflect.
But still when I am triggering outbound IDoc from ECC to PI, the transaction is getting errored out with below error:
"ErrText": "Processing error = Receiver Determination did not find any receivers at all",
Can any one providee some idea what could be the reason and what is the right approach to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

  • N8 GPS can't find my position

    Hello
I have a big problem with my N8 GPS. I just use Integrated GPS in positioning methods and I disabled A-GPS, Network and Wi-Fi options. But Ovi Map 3.04 can't find my position. I compare my phone with an N79 and a 5800 in similar situation. They can easily find the position in less than a minute! But my N8 still searching and searching…. . It’s embarrassing!!!
Can anybody help me?! Any suggestion?

Grrr ! All that "experts" here...
1, Use AGPS if you want to get a coarse estimation of your position.
    2. Use internal GPS only if you want to get a precise position.
    3. There are no (NO !) differences in position fix speeds caused by software. GPS works in a sequential way: A sequential data stream is sent by the satellites. To get a full position fix, all of that data stream has to be received, from start to end. THIS causes speed differences: If you start the GPS application at the beginning of the data stream, fix is fast. If you start it in the middle of the stream, the device has to wait for the stream starting again from the beginning. This is for collection "almanach" data - data about where the satellites are at present - they're moving.
    4. If that almanach data was received earlier and no too long ago, GPS fix is fast because the device does not have to wait for that almanach data stream. Again: It has NOTHING to do with different software.
By the way: This is what AGPS does - downloading that almanach data via internet instead of waiting to get that data via the air and trying to triangulate your coarse position with the help of comparing the signal strengths received by different cell towers. Again: This does NOT provide you with precise positioning data - just estimations. Never use AGPS if you need a reliable position fix. .
    5. GPS signals are high frequency signals. Reception of such signals may vary greatly with the phone's position: One or two cm of placing difference may cause a big change in reception.
    6. GO OUT ! Do NOT try the GPS module indoors. You MAY get sufficient signal strength inside buildings - but this is an exception, not the rule.
    7. N8s GPS receiver is really fine, very sensitive. No problem with that.
In short: Go outside. Don't use AGPS or network-based GPS. Don't believe people saying "Precise (!) GPS fix is much faster with software blabla..." Don't get fooled by a quick display of an estimated position: The real position fix did not get calculated at that point of time; it's still running in the background. This is what's causing that constant change of your position right after the first fix got displayed. A minute later, your position appears stable; and that's the point of time where real positioning data are used - not just coarse estimations.
It all depends on that almanach data and a clear view of the sky.

  • 808 can not find my location

When I start maps app it can not find find my location The red circle in the top left corner blinks and nothing happens
Applications which must use my location do not work too
    The Internet works.
May be I shall change any settings?

    @alexMoscow
It should only be obtaining the very first postional fix that might take time, although if inside building WiFi/Network GPS positioning method should very quickly grab position from previously determined router access point location.
