  • HT5100 I have downloaded lectures from iTunes u but they do not show up on my bookshelf.  Why?

I have downloaded lectures from iTunes u.  It had been working fine, but now my downloads do not show up on my bookshelf.  They do show up as downloaded when I search through the catalog.  How do I fix this?

Wow, I just checked & all the DOWNLOADED songs MADE it into my iTunes "Songs". Thanks anyway!

  • How do i use ibooks for saving my lecture notes / power point slides please?

Hi, how do I use ibooks for savng / storing my lecture notes on please? (on either a iphone or ipad). Also, can I save powerpoint slides to it too? thanks.

iBooks can only read two formats -- .epub and pdf.  So you have to convert your lecture notes or powerpoints to one of those.  To do that, check the Save, Export, or Share functions of whatever app you are using to create your notes.

  • I can't sort iTunes U lectures properly.  I can sort them properly on my laptop in iTunes, but when I transfer them to my iPhone, they are all jumbled up.  How can I fix this?

I'm using my iPhone for listenting to lectures on iTunes U.  When I download lectures to my laptop, they are sometimes arranged non-sequentially.  I can fix this by renaming the files (e.g., with numbers in the titles), and then sorting by title.   However,  when I transfer the audio lectures to my iPhone, they are all sorted by "release date" (and frequently the release date is the same for each lecture), and this screws up the ordering.  This means that when I'm listening to the lectures, they are all out of order.
I can find no setting on the iPhone for changing the ordering of lectures in iTunes U, nor can I find a way of changing such things when the iPhone is plugged into my laptop.  For example, when I connect the iPhone to the laptop, and open iTunes, I select the device (i.e., the iPhone), look at the lectures in iTunes U, and iTunes will not let me change the column that sorts the files.
Any suggestions about how to correct this problem?

You can sort your library by adding a Sorting info in the File Info. Select a file in iTunes U, press cmd + i, choose Sorting Tab. For example add a Sort Name. For each file you have to put a value into that field, I did it with 01, 02, 03 .. 12. I do not know if this works if you select multiple files, but I did not try.
The next time you sync your device, your files will be in order. It' ve tested it on an iPad2.
If you ask me, there must be a better solution for that problem as the files have a track number saved in the info as well, and it is quite annoying to add the sorting order manually.

  • New update deleted all of my lecture notes and wouldn't restore recent backup. How can I download them from the cloud to my iPad? (not at my computer right now)

(It's fifteen minutes before class starts)
I tried to back up all of my devices before making the update to 7.0.6.
My iPad was ejected and iTunes told me that it couldn't be updated due to some error (this was yesterday). Then when I plugged it back in, it said I needed to restore my iPad, and I couldn't get to the home screen or anything, it just showed a "Connect to iTunes" icon. So it restored a really early version (with notes from last semester but not from this semester), even though I'm sure I've backed it up at least twice since I got it (1-13-14).
I got onto the Cloud and downloaded some important lecture notes before performing the update just to make sure that they would all be up to date, but those are on my computer, which I am currently not at, so I can't download them. I saw that my iPad was syncing with my Cloud, so my college notes were all showing up, and I didn't stick around to make sure that the current ones showed up (but they're on my cloud, so wouldn't they?).
Also, I use Branchfire's iAnnotate PDF, and all of my highlighted articles for research papers and summaries are gone. I'm missing important articles that had notes for two seminars, and they're all gone. I'm confident I can recover things from the cloud, but iAnnotate doesn't use the cloud. Is there a way to find those again?
What I'm curious about right now is if there's a way to download from the Cloud to my iPad, because that's where my notes are.
Does the cloud sync FROM my iPad? As in, if it isn't on my iPad will it delete documents from my Cloud? Or if it's in the Cloud, will it sync to my iPad if it's absent here?
This is really frustrating, especially because I TRIED to back everything up just to be safe. I tried everything, and I still lost all of my important files. This is beyond frustrating, it's devastating. This is unacceptable.

There are some recovery programs out there if you google them - many with free trials. I haven't tried them so I have no opinion.Read any professional tech and user reviews you can find before you try one. I have read here in the past that some have worked for people who have posted here.
To help in the future, have you considered using Jump Desktop - Remote Desktop? I know it won't solve the problem you're dealing with now (unless notes were taken on your computer.) It's in the app store. It's the #1 paid app in the business category and the reviews are great. It allows you to see anything that's on your computer on your ipad. If you take your notes on your ipad then you might want to email them to yourself, put them on Word in your computer, for example, and then if you need them in class, you remotely connect your ipad to your computer and you will see your notes. This way you won't have to rely so much on the cloud. The explanation would be too long here, but you might want to take a look at it. You can use the free trial on jumpdesk.com and then if it works for you, buy it in the app store.
Meanwhile, it's hours since you sent this post. Hopefully others who can help solve your problem who are on this forum now can help you. I hope you get your notes back. Don't give up too quickly.
    Hope this helps.

  • My itunesu says I have downloaded the lectures, but the files are not on my computer, how do I "get" them again

Hi there. I was downloading lectures from iTunesU. The status shows them as downloaded, however two lectures in the series are not on my computer/iPad. How do I "get" them again?

The downloaded content should be in the iTunes U section of your music app. To navigate to iTunes U content launch the music app, click more and look for iTunes U on the resource list.

  • How do i get my computer to download lectures and move them to my ipad

I want to download iTunesU lectures onto my computer and then put them on my iPad as I am ready to listen to them, so that I can save a large number of lectures on my computer, but not have to stream them on my iPad because that doesn't work in the car, 3G is not good enough to stream it.
I signed up for this one class and didn't realize that it was set to download only the most recent lecture when there are new ones. So it downloaded only the last of 30 lectures and now every time it "checks," there aren't any new lectures, so it doesn't download any more of them, even though I have now changed the setting to download all unheard lectures. How do I manually download individual lectures instead of just "subscribing"?

Download the Users guide for your iPod, See:
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipodtouch
Also on the coputer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help and see how to use iTunes with the iPod.

    code erreur : -1074396009
"IMAQ AVI Read Frame An internal DirectX error has occurred. Try upgrading to the latest version of DirectX."

what do you expect from this code out.print(lecture); ?
lecture is an Element, toString() is not implemented, so print correctly displays some fuzzy pointer information, nothing more...

  • Can't find college lectures on iPod to delete so I can free up some space!

My iPod nano is full, but has over 26 hours of college lectures from iTunesU that need to be deleted.  I can see these lectures on the iPod screen, but when I hook it up to my computer, I can't find the lectures anywhere to delete them.  Only a music library shows for the iPod and the lectures aren't in there.  I've tried everything, but can't find them to delete them!  Can anyone help with this?

    Alexy,
The Application Data folder is hidden by default on WinXP.
In the Windows File Explorer, use Tools > Folder
    Options... Then switch
to the View tab, In the Advanced Settings list at the bottom,
    open the
"Files and Folders" folder, then the "Hidden files and
    folders" folder,
then select "Show hidden files and folders".

  • What's a good program to record college lectures?

This may not be the right board for this, but I feel like the people here can help me the most.
I want to record the lectures in my college instead of typing. I've tried doing it with garageband, but after 3 hours the file becomes REALLY large. I need something that can make it a mp3 as it records.

Try audacity (free) or even a portable recorder.

  • I am trying to clear files from my computer. I have a bunch of .m4v protected files that will not delete. They are lectures from college that I do not need anymore and would like to delete them to make room on my computer.

I am trying to clear files from my computer. I have a bunch of .m4v protected files that will not delete. They are lectures from college that I do not need anymore and would like to delete them to make room on my computer. I have looked at the help sites and they seem to give directions to change files that people are saving in the future and not regarding past files. I am unable to change anything about the file including the name, so I can not change these past files from .m4v to something else which is deletable such as .mp4 etc. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Well, most of what we can tell you is already stated in the message you are getting.  A phone can only sync with one library at a time.  You have apparently synced your phone with a different iTunes library in the past, or changes have been made to this library so the phone no longer recognizes it as the library with which it was synced.  To know which you will have to provide the information.
If you bought them using the AppleID you use with this phone it may simply be easier to re-download them directly to the phone rather than sync them, though you will want to resolve that issue at some point.

Not with the iTunes U app, no. You would do this through iTunes on your computer.
BTW, this forum is for questions from those managing iTunes U sites. Normally you will get the quickest and most applicable responses if you ask your questions about using iTunes U in the general iTunes forums.
