Margin of my Report is unpredictable!

I have several frames in my report. I used the "Page Break After"
setting on the first frame. Naturally, the second and succeeding
frame should be on the next page.
The weird thing is that the top margin of the second page is not
on the right location. It is slightly lower than the one on the
first page. I have checked the properties of both frames already,
and I can't find anything wrong...
I need help!

Check the objucts on the parent frame. You may have some "fixed
length" items on top although they are to be printed
"once"...make them vertically "variable". Let me know if you
have any more problems.

  • Edit Margins in Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi
    I am very new to Crystal Reports and don't really know anything about it. I have to amend an existing project and it requires me to change the page margins. The only way I know of to change the margins are by using Page Setup. This works great and fixed the issue, but it was only on my local machine. This also changes the layout of every other Crystal Report that I run on my machine.
    I would like to know how to edit the margins of a page for a specific Crystal Report so that it will keep the changes to the margins for other users. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Cody,
    CR relies heavily on the Printer configured on the machine it's being run on.
    Are both the printers on your machine and on the Server the same?
    If yes, then you can go to File > Page Setup > Choose the default printer > Edit the Margins.
    Otherwise, just check the 'No Printer' option > Also Check 'Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Page Size' > Edit the Margins.
    This should save the page configuration within the report and should be respected anywhere you run it.

  • Trade Sales Profit Margin in COPA Report

    HI,
    We have one requirement COPA Report for to know the profit Margin.
    Scenario
    My client purchase material from Vendor and sale same material to Customer.
    Ex: FG Purchase Price 100/- and same material without doing thing then sell to customer 120/-
    Present in our system.
    Creation of sales order.
    Creation Purchase Request against Sales order
    Creation of PO.
    Creation of MIGO with reference to PO(the material value show special Stock. Its wont update Price and quantity in Material Master)
    MIRO
    Post goods issue.
    Billing
    Now my requirement is how to get PGI value in COPA value field. Present there is no ‘VPRS’ condition in SO. I am getting Revenue and Discount values but I am not getting Purchase price.
    Please give me your valuable suggestions.
    Regards,
    Thirumalesh

    Hi Thiru
    VPRS has to be a part of your pricing procedure.. Only then it updates COGS into COPA
    but I am wondering having VPRS would really help in this case, because you are saying the MIGO is not updating Price and Qty in Material Master
    Still, I would like you to try with VPRS once, by including it in your pricing procedure
    Also, in KE4I (ORKE > Actual Value Flows > Value from SD > Billing docs > Assign Value Fields) - > Here you have the option to map MM conditions also to COPA.. So, explore this by mapping the MM cond to COPA VF

    hi himanshu,
    you can perform this on the basis of LSIND count,
    refer to the folowing code
    APPEND 5 Fcodes to I_BUTTONS TABLE
    set  pf-status 'MY MENU' excluding 'I_BUTTONS'.
      window starting at 2 2 ending at 200 40.

  • Fixed Top Margin  for Web Report

    Report generated with Htmlcss, we had setup the Top Margin of Page to 0.5
    First Page Top Margin is 0.5 but the second page takes the Top Margin more than 0.5 (could be 1").
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    TIA

    Are you sure that you set the bottom margin to be 0. Assuming you aren't using page streaming, the gap between the pages is the sum of the top and bottom margins.
    Hope this helps,

  • Margin Issue(pdf) in migrating 6i report to 10g

    Hi,
    After I migrated the report from 6i to 10g, I found the report printing issue comes out. Every report printing is not same as 6i, move the data to left and top about half cm. I searched this forum, I got clue was i can add reports_add_hwmargin into registry, then I can add printer margin into the report. I found it works when i run the reprot from 10g builder. But when I generated it into pdf format through IDS then print out, the problem is still there. How can add printer margin into report with pdf format?
    My environment is
    app server 10g
    report 10g,
    windows xp
    Thanks in advance.
    appcat

    Try a Compile All ( Ctrl - K ), then Ctrl - T.
    Not sure about XP, but in Vista, the 10g Builder and batch compiler will crash if a PLL Library is not available when the form is compiled.
    Make sure the PLL Library is available, and all its objects compile in the 10g setup.
    If that does not help, then try a semicolon-to-semicolon replace all, then save the fmb. Then restart the Forms Builder, and open the fmb again, and try compiling.
    Here is an old link describing the issue:

  • Crystal report - margins problem

    I have a problem with top and bottom margins in my report. In the designer view - File>Page Setup - I have the paper size (A4 210X297 cm). Both the top and bottom margins are set to 2 cm which, If I understand it correctly, printing should start exactly 2 cm from the top and end at 2 cm from the bottom of a page.
    However, no matter what I do, it starts printing 1.5 cm from the top and ends at 3 cm from the bottom of a page.
    I have the 'Dissociate Formatting page size and printer paper size turned off so that should not influence anything and even if it's turned on makes no difference.
    In Designer view when I look at the ruler the Report Header - it is exactly 25.5 cm in length. For some reason unknown to me I can't make it any longer. If I add even 1 or 2 mm to the length, the printing spills over to a new page.
    I'm printer to a HP laser printer - nothing fancy - other programs like Word prints to the same printer with no margin issues whatsoever.
    I will appreciate it so much if someone can point me in the right direction, please.
    Regards
    Danie

    Hi Danie,
    the problem is not inside CR, not your printer, but how SBO print engine handles paper sizeing and margin. (for just one simple thing: set the margin inside SBO, and you'll notice nothing changes).
    This is especially problematic with CR margins.
    On load the print engine gets the paper sizes from windows, and sticks to them. In my experience, it handles the margins as CR:
    fixed 2cm-s of any paper size ( this was my main problem, imagine it: printing on a 4,5*3,5 label, with 2cm margins =S, every other application did it right, from CR it was right, from CR to PDF to print it was right, from SBO PLD it was right, from SBO>CR>PDF>Print it was right, but no matter what i did, the SBO>CR>Print was using wrong margins).
    Try dissociating the papersize in CR and setting custom sizes/margins, sometimes, after many trial and error that works.
    I had made to date ~10 special sized/print scenario solution in CR (along many other standard sized reports), sometimes the above stated can achieved, but mostly i just add a corrected paper size to windows, set it as default and the ~100 trial and error falls back to ~15 rounds..
    I'm sorry to hear your disappointed in CR, sometimes i'm also feel like that, and i completely agree that it is overrated, but i think it is a great solution for things. It's not a miracle tool, but it handles well in most default situation, and you can construct insanely complex reports with relative ease (if you lear how to utilize SQL inside CR along with Crystalsyntax). But i agree, handling papersizes it is.. well.. you know.
    Lets hope will get the neat 2011 version someday to SBO..

    Daniel

  • Report leaving Left page margin

    My report is leaving almost 1.25 inches Page Margin although I'm using full space in the margin. Report Page setting in page setup is also ok. However when I change page type from Letter to A-4 in page setup then it removes left margin and it report layout becomes OK. can u tell me why is it happening and how can I control it properly because user will not change Page Type each time running the report.

    I meant question of "What kind of output do yoiu generate ? (PDF ? RTF ? Printer Output ? (postscript / PCL ) ...)
    Dear DLC...I had replied to Denis, however repeatedly telling u peeps,????
    Its ok if there is any option to select the Page size Letter, A4 etc...I'll provide user a static list of Page sizes at Param form and user will select it accordingly. Is it enough?Don't think you can set page type/size for the output at runtime. Let us know if you find the trick.

    I seem to have the same probem. On my development pc the margins for a report are e.g 0.2" on the four sides. After compilation and installing on production pc, the bottom margin is always 0.875". This problem didn't occur in the 2.5/3.0 version of Oracle Reports. No solution found until now.

  • RTF Templates and report file (.xdo)

    Hi all,
    I use Oracle report and I would like to migrate from that software to Oracle BI Publisher. During my tests, I encountered various problems like the following:
    I create my report (.xdo file is generated) in development with one RTF template. I load my template in the report and the system copy the rtf file is the same directory as the .xdo file. Also, the system modify the .xdo file to add a line like:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    When my report and template are ok, I update my customer to install them in production mode. When they are installed, my customer would modify the RTF template so he duplicates the RTF template, modify the file and load it in the report. Now, in the report, I have two lines:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    <template label="stkcinv2" type="rtf" url="stkcinv2.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    For my part, I modify the report in development to add a new value in the datamodel. Then I update another time my customer and erase the standard report by the new.
    the problem is that doing that, if I look at the .xdo file, I see that in the <templates> section, I have:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    So the templates loaded in the .xdo file is lost and my customer must reload it in the new report. If my customer has 100 reports, each time I update the soft, he will have to reload all templates... Amazing...
    How can I do to avoid that problem ?

    Well there appears to be a bug in the RTF generator.
    It appears that Oracle want to use paragraph left and right indentation properties to pad text in cells away from cell borders. There is a bug in the rtf reader in word that causes problems if cell padding properties are used so paragraph indentation appears a sensible work round.
    By default there appears to be a left hand indentation of 5 applied to all paragraphs in cells. If a left hand cell maring is applied to cells then the left hand cell margin in the report increases in size.
    However, right hand cell margins appear to be ignored and NOT written as attributes to cell paragraph text in the the generated report, and this causes problems when trying to print an RTF report as numbers in cells get clipped by cell borders.

  • Report does not print exactly same as it appears at design time

    Hello,
    I am using SAP Crystal report with VS 2010.
    I designed a report. At design time every thing appears fine. Margins are set to 0, printer is selected and page size is custom.(right click on report, design>pagesetup)
    When I use <reportname>.printtoprinter(), it dramatically changes the text size and margins of the report in hard copy. I tried literally everything for this. Especially It adds nearly 2 inches extra margin at top.Also , at run time it changes the font size to 8 or 9 points if i have set it to 12 at design time.
    I get the same problem if I do following:
      crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rptRcAbh;
       crystalReportViewer1.PrintReport();
    HOWEVER!!
    When I do this:
      crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rptRcAbh;
    AND when I manually click the print button of crystal report viewer, i get EXACTLY SAME result as design time. This is what I am expecting from printoprinter() method. But Its changing result dramatically.
    Why is this happening? Am I forgetting any setting?
    I must use reprot.printtoprinter() method here. Because I am printing the bill receipt. I dont want the user to go to printpreview then click print. AND I must get same result as design on printed page.
    Please help me. I am in urgent need.

    Hi Don,
    Firstly I am very very thankful to you for replying me.
    I know I must have irritated you a bit cuz I was expecting everything ready which I should have :P
    but I was in urgent need and there was no time for me to read everything. I must say a thing that I did not get good search results on printcontroller when I used search box of this website.
    Well Thanks again for helping me in deed.
    I am sure this must be the problem for many people across the globe, hence I am posting the exact code that helped me to print the document Accurately:
       rptReceiptAbhishek rptRcAbh = new rptReceiptAbhishek();

  • Avoid Printer selection Dialogue box when printing Crystal report in JAVA

    Hi i am calling crystal report in my servlet using Report Client Document SDK, now i want to print the report directly to the default printer set without selecting the printer from the select printer dialogue box. In other words want to avoid the select printer dialogue box from appearing . Can any body suggest me how do i do this .
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    In javascripting the code is
    function Print()
    if (document.all)
    WebBrowser1.ExecWB(6, -1) //use 6, 1 to prompt the print dialog or 6, 6 to omit it;
    WebBrowser1.outerHTML = "";
    <object ID="WebBrowser1" WIDTH="0" HEIGHT="0"
    CLASSID="CLSID:8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2">
    But the above code does not work in windows XP SP2.... and i cannot restrict my clients OS.
    where as C#,ASP.NET  provides the functionality to print directly to printer as
    The ReportDocument class provides PrintToPrinter method that may be used to print a CR direct to the printer. If no printer is selected, the default printer will be used to send the printing pages to.
    The PrintToPrinter method takes four parameters.
    nCopies : Indicates the number of copies to print.
    collated : Indicates whether to collate the pages.
    startPageN : Indicates the first page to print.
    endPageN : Indicates the last page to print.
    The following steps will guide you to achieve the same:
    Add crystal report (.cr) file to your ASP.NET application.
    Add a report instance on the page level.
    Dim report As MyReport = New MyReport
    Populate reports data on Page_Init
      ' Get data in a DataSet or DataTable
            Dim ds As DataSet = GetData()
            ' Fill report with the data
         report.SetDataSource(ds)
    Print Report
    report.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0)
    If you wish to print certain page range, change last two parameters From to To page number.
    If you want to set page margins, you need to create a PageMargin object and set PrintOptions of the ReportDocument.
    The following code sets page margins and printer name:
    Dim margins As PageMargins =  Report.PrintOptions.PageMargins
       margins.bottomMargin = 200
       margins.leftMargin = 200
       margins.rightMargin = 50
       margins.topMargin = 100
       Report.PrintOptions.ApplyPageMargins(margins)
       ' Select the printer name
       Report.PrintOptions.PrinterName = printerName
    Thn Why not a java SDK for Crystal report can provide such a functionality...

  • Assistance with Printing to Zebra QL220 using the LabVIEW report VI

    I currently am trying to use the LabVIEW report VI to output a formatted set of strings to the above mentioned printer.
    The UMPC hardware that runs the developed application is bare bones XP box and doesn't' have MS office installed
    I use the LV new report set to a standard report and  successfully set orientation to portrait or Landscape, set margins and set report fonts and headers.. However  in sending the text strings to this label printer (labels are 45mm X 60mm) I find that that two issues arise.
    1. Printing out double labels. The pagination fails and prints a blank label after each print when text is output.  However if I disable all headers and body text (i.e blank label print). This pagination works fine.?
    2. The formatting of the information on the page reliably, I currently use inserted blank spaces, is there a better way?
    I thought, perhaps I should try using the ZLP programming language, but then not sure how to I send it to a USB printer? Has any one had any experience with this and these label printers ?
    Thanks

  • Report Layout modification problem

    Hi!!! Friends,
    I have developed a report in Report 6i on version 6.0.8.11.3 and tried to open and modify it on version 6.0.8.18.3. In that case if I move the edit margin of the report a bit then after running the report I am getting the following error
    Error :-
    REP - 1352 The fonts specified for this report cannot be found for the character set specified by NLS_LANG.
    Could any one help me to get rid of this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sanjeev

    Pls try this (Assuming this is Solaris OS)
    Cause may be that NLS_LANG might not be matching with the entry in Tk2Motif.rgb (Pls search for this file in $OH)
    Change Tk2Motif*fontMapCs entry to reflect correct character set.
    If NLS_LANG is WE8ISO8859P15, then the entry
    should be:
    Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-15=WE8ISO8859P15
    Thanks
    Ratheesh
