Margine on phone...

Working on my mobile site...I kept everything on the "page" in muse, but when I upload it and view it on my phone, the footer goes off to the right pretty far throwing off the page.
How do I fix this?
If you need to look at it to see what I am talking about...www.coremissins.org. (Keep in mind that the mobile version is what I am inquiring about.)
Thanks

Hi
This can happen if you have included any object in footer item which stretches to right or there may be empty frames or rectangles on right end of the page.
Please check for those in design mode and modify accordingly.
Also the url that you have mentioned , does not works on my end.
Thanks,
Sanjit

  • New phone line and broadband, massive noise margin...

    Hi, being a long time DSL stalwart a recent move to a new property has meant I've needed to switch over to ADSL instead and thus far it's proving to be a bit of a mare!
    I waited a month for the initial installation engineer who promptly never showed anyway, no bother I thought, the hub turned up and I installed it myself and it promptly didn't work   It soon became pretty apparent that the phone line was completely dead even from the test socket.  A few phone calls later and the phone line is working much to my delight.  The broadband is another story though, initially it still couldn't connect but later in the day it managed to get going.  However it's excruciatingly slow with an average of 20 to 30kps throughput and substantial packetloss.  Also worth noting is that in this new property, only the master socket actually works, this place has 4 other sockets dotted around all of which appear to be dead, could these be part of the issue?  Does using the test socket completely cut these out and rule out bad wiring?  Just to add, at 13 hours connected the adsl status is pretty much the same and I couldn't notice anything on the BT line noise test number.
    I'm not familar with the workings on ADSL lines but I'm guessing the root of the problem is down to a wildly varying noise margin both up and down.  Down fluctuates between ~2 and 20 within a matter of seconds and up gives some numbers that defy belief.  Now the line was originally activated on Wednesday, actually kicked into life sometime on Friday and the router has been connected for 13 hours now, whilst it's still early days and things should bed in more, I assume I'm right in thinking I should be alarmed at how bad a line I'm starting out with?  And should I be directing my ire at the builders or BT?
    Any help and suggestions will be hugely appreciated!
    Cheers!

    as it is a newbuild is the master socket inside your home or outside like this
    connecting to the test socket will eliminate all your extension sockets and should be your best connection.  if you are not in the test socket could you try it and post new stats please
    with your attenuation I would expect a connection speed of about 18mb when you get this fiixed

    My problem - when syncing and error messages  comes up:  iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because an error occurred while margin data."  I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing.  What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?

    Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted :  a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone.  I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
    In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them.  It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!
    Thanks for pointing me to the right article.

  • FIX FOR: iPhone 4 battery draining fast, phone running hot

    I had the same issue many have reported here and in comments on blogs, where their +_battery was draining at least twice as fast_+ as on an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.
    Some threads suggest +_this happens to iPhone 4 when restored from a 3G or 3GS_+, and indeed, that's what I'd done. A few people said that resetting to factory settings and installing everything fresh solved the issue, giving them better battery life than they'd seen on any prior iPhone.
    Many of my apps have files or settings stored in them, so I didn't want to have to set everything up again. A fresh install is a real pain.
    Deep in an iPhone 3G thread mentioning a similar battery problem after upgrading to iOS 4, someone said they'd deleted all their mail accounts, and set those up fresh, which solved the issue for them. I tried that today, and it worked.
    *_BEFORE AND AFTER_*:
    Thursday and Friday, the iPhone 4 went from 100% to 15% in under 6 hours. Today, after this fix, the iPhone 4 is at 87% after 12 hours. Thursday and Friday the phone was hot to the touch whenever I picked it up. Today it's always cool. Apps usage and movement among coverage areas on each day have been exactly the same. The only change was resetting up mail.
    *_STEPS TO FIX_*:
    Do this on WiFi so you can sync and check mail fast.
    1. Delete all mail accounts.
    2. If MobileMe user, delete MobileMe account, and remove all Calendars, Contacts, Notes, etc., from the phone (so you don't have dupes when you re-sync).
    3. Turn off phone, and back on again.
    4. If MobileMe user, add MobileMe account first. I enabled all options, even Find My iPhone (Thursday and Friday I had it off, in case it was using power). Wait long enough for contacts and calendars to sync, check to make sure. I use MobileMe mail on Push.
    5. Add back each additional mail account. I have 5. I am in a marginal coverage area, so I set these accounts on Fetch Hourly. I also have "Preview 5 Lines" (I think the default is Preview 2 Lines. This doesn't matter.)
    6. Go into Mail, go to the MobileMe Inbox, and scroll your way down letting the messages come in. You can see them come in when you see the Preview Lines update, and then scroll some more.
    7. Go into each additional mail account's Inbox, scroll your way down, letting the messages come in.
    8. Go to the combined Inbox if you use that, make sure all the messages are in.
    9. The WiFi activity spinner may remain spinning even after Mail says it is done Checking Mail. This is because other parts of mail accounts are being synced for the first time. Let the iPhone sit in Mail combined inbox until the spinner stops. Quit Mail, go back in, and watch the spinner after it's done Checking Mail. If the spinner doesn't stop after < 5 seconds or so, let Mail sit again. Once it's caught up, going into mail will Check Mail, and the spinner will stop a few seconds after as it should.
    10. You're done.
    Hopefully your phone stays cool and your battery life reflects the boost from the 20% larger battery. If not, the next step to try is Reset Network Settings, and finally try a factory reset and installing everything fresh instead of doing a restore. Hopefully you won't need to do that. I didn't.

    My iphone 4 just started to warm up and the battery is draining quick.  Closed everything and reset to no avail.  Turned off bluetooth, increased push time and checked location settings for new applications.  Weather Doodle was a bit suspicious as it had a purple direction indicator next to the setting.  The only other new app I installed was Lego instruct.  I disabled one of the 4 mail accounts I had that is having network difficulties, went to airplane mode and still I see %1 drain every 10 or 15 minutes.  I'll remove the new new apps and reset to see if it is related to the new apps.  If that doesn't work, I'll try email account reset at home wifi and see if that fixes the issues.
    Thank you for the information.

  • At a loss with phone line and broadband

    Hi,
    First of all, sorry for cross posting this, but as you might gather I'm currently stuck between a rock and a hard place.
    http://community.bt.com/t5/Phones/At-a-loss-with-phone-line/td-p/54639
    I'm not going to repeat everything in that post, just to say when all equipment is unplugged and you get crackles and white noise through the phone, it can not be equipment, no matter how intermittent. Am I correct?
    The main reason for cross posting is around the annoying BRAS IP profile. It seems that for 30mins of static, I get stuck on a 130k profile for 3days. I could cope with the occasional outage or slow down, but 3days is half a week and when you have the recent bad weather, you get 1day of decent profile before the next spat! As a result of this, I would like to see if anyone else in the community has been through similar?
    I will point out that I have been working in IT for 13years, so I like to pretend that I know something about things, but I must say that BT is one of the only companies that I deal with and dealt with that seem insistent on blaming the customer for everything.

  • Display Image in Fullscreen like in Gallery (Windows Phone 8.1 SDK)

    Hello everyone,
    Maybe this is a so simple Task and I should be embarassed...however I currently just don't know how to do it. I am writing an app where I Display several Images in a Pivot Template. I know nothing about These Images as I am getting them from the Internet
    and every Image can have a different Resolution.
    I thought of displaying them like in the Gallery - As Fullscreen as possible and a double Tap makes them Zoom- and Scrollable. I thought of doing this via a Scrollviewer but have no Idea how. My current Markup is like this:
    <Grid x:Name="Scrollgrid" Margin="-20,0,-20,0">
    <ScrollViewer x:Name="scrollViewer" Height="500" Width="Auto" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Top" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" ZoomMode="Enabled" MinZoomFactor="0.5">
    <StackPanel Height="500" Width="Auto" Orientation="Horizontal">
    <Image x:Name="RssImage"
    Source="{Binding Image}"
    CacheMode="BitmapCache"
    Stretch="Fill"
    HorizontalAlignment="Center"
    VerticalAlignment="Top">
    <Image.Transitions>
    <TransitionCollection>
    <EntranceThemeTransition FromHorizontalOffset="200"/>
    </TransitionCollection>
    </Image.Transitions>
    </Image>
    </StackPanel>
    </ScrollViewer>
    </Grid>
    which is just not sufficient enough.Does anybody have an Idea?
    Thank you very much.
    Markus

    Hi,
    I think you have to use FlipView Control in order to render collection images into one possible UI element. It can be swiped to change the images. You make full screen also.  You can use in both windows and windows phone.
    Please refer this link
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/jj150601.aspx
    If this doesn't meet your answer. Please ask me again. Thank you..

  • HT201436 Can't retrieve voicemail.  Phone takes me to greeting screen, but when I select default or record a  custom greeting, the save it, phone screen continues to show "saving greeting" I cannot get to the screen to check voicemail

    I think phone is 4s but might be a 4. Can't retrieve voicemail.  I've had the phone for months and have used voicemail. Now when I select voicemail the phone takes me to a page to set up greeting (custom or default) and when I select either one and then try to save it ( thinking maybe then I can get to my messages) the screen just keeps showing "saving greeting"
    Thanks

    Safe Mode (booting while holding down Shift key) should have disabled all the Login items, as well as any non-Apple startup items, including the launchd items.
    I'm out of "Easy" ideas, and anything I say after this, is just wild ideas, so feel free to ignore me.
    Have you tried different USB cables?  Maybe there is an issue with the USB connector, or the way you have to bend things to access your Mac mini USB ports is different from accessing your Wife's Mac mini USB ports?
    Try alternate USB ports.  Maybe there is a bad/marginal port/connector.
    Try removing all your existing USB devices.  If you are using a USB keyboard and/or mouse, try using a different USB keyboard and/or mouse (maybe borrow them from your Wife's Mac mini).  Basically remove all other USB devices and replace the essential keyboard and mouse with known good ones).
    Desperate measure (Backup first before proceeding down this path).  Using a Firewire cable, boot your Wife's Mac mini into Firewire Target Mode.  Connect a Firewire cable between your Mac mini and your Wife's while your Wife's is in Target Mode.  Now boot your Mac mini holding down the "Option" key, and select your Wife's Mac mini's disk to boot from.   Essentially you will be using your hardware and your Wife's software to see if you have a hardware issue, or if it is a software issue.  That is to say if it works with your Mac mini booted from your Wife's boot disk, then your hardware is fine, but there is something wrong with your software.  If it does not work, then it is your hardware.
    Hopefully, you Wife will not kill you for even mentioning this.  ALSO, if you do try this, BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP first, especailly her system.  Not that anything will go wrong, but if it does, the last thing you want is an annoyed Wife :-)  BACKUP!

  • How to update a ListBox binding when a toast message arrives in windows phone

    I have a MVVM windows phone application and it has a Home page where after entering login data it goes to "Posts" page.
    Posts page has PostsModel with the following data :
    class MyClass
    public string NewPostText { get; set; }
    public string NewPostSender { get; set; }
    public string NewPostAttachment { get; set; }
    "Posts" page has the following View Model and GetPosts will read data from isolatedstorage for now i have hardcoded with some static data though.This data needs to be stored back to isolated storage while exiting the app.
    private PostsViewModel _PostsViewModel ;
    public Conversation()
    InitializeComponent();
    _PostsViewModel = new PostsViewModel ();
    this.DataContext = _PostsViewModel ;
    public ObservableCollection<PostsModel> MyPostsDataSource
    get
    if (_MyPostsDataSource== null)
    _MyPostsDataSource= GetMyPosts();
    return _MyPostsDataSource;
    set
    this._MyPostsDataSource = value;
    RaisePropertyChanged("MyPostsDataSource");
    "Posts.cs" has only the following code:
    protected override void OnNavigatedTo(NavigationEventArgs e)
    base.OnNavigatedTo(e);
    "Posts" page has the following xaml:
    <ListBox x:Name="listMyPosts" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=MyPostsDataSource}" Grid.Row="0" >
    <ListBox.ItemTemplate >
    <DataTemplate >
    <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding NewPostText ,Mode=TwoWay}"/>
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding NewPostSender}"/>
    </StackPanel>
    <Image x:Name="SenderImage" Margin="8" Source="/MyApp;component/Assets/Icons/NewPostAttachment.png"/>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListBox.ItemTemplate>
    </ListBox>
    First time when app loads the static data i have shows all the data in the list box without any issues but when a toast message comes all the data is gone and also the new message is also not displayed.
    The question i have is when i get a new toast message(to Posts.xaml page) i just want to refresh the current Posts page with the latest message details . And i dont know how to do this and whether i need to handle this in the page NavigatedTo method(if
    so how do i refresh the or atleast reload the Posts.xaml page with its PREVIOUS data plus the new data as well) as the toast notification has the navigation uri of "/Posts.xaml" page.
    I would really appreciate any help on this ?

    For comparison , Its like a Chat application. When a new message comes and the message is from the user for which the conversation page is already open then we just append the message to it.
    In ShellNotificationReceived we are just calling the "Posts.xaml" page.
     Relative Uri here is " /View/Posts.xaml" plus some paraemters like sender email id , sender message and the image..
    Application.Current.RootVisual
    asPhoneApplicationFrame).Navigate(newUri(relativeUri,
    UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute))

  • Can't log into phones

    We just installed a Lync environment with one Standard Edition server, one Edge, and a reverse proxy on IIS ARR.
    Last week we were finally able to connect to Lync from the outside, through the edge, on the desktop Lync 2013 clients.  I had to change our _sip._tls SRV record to use port 5061 rather than 443 to fix that.
    The last roadblock now is that no one can log into their phones.  It's not broken; no one has been able to do it yet as this is a new deployment.
    The reverse proxy sure seems to be configured right.  I followed the instructions on the NextHop article that I think a lot of people use.  I've had MS review the config and they verified I have all the forwarding rules in the right places.
    My lyncdiscover and lws rules are both forwarding to 4443 and 8080 as desired.
    Yesterday they had me add lyncdiscover.mydomain.com to the internal DNS, which it wasn't in before.  They had me point to the public IP, which is not pingable from the inside.  Before I did that, I had it the non-natted IP.  Neither of those
    internal DNS records did anything to fix the problem.
    On my Windows phone, when I have Auto-Detect Server set to On, it takes a minute and gives me this ambiguous error:
    "We can't connect to the server.  Check your network connection and server address, and try again."
    So I turn off Auto-Detect Server, and put in
    https://lws.mydomain.com as both the internal and external discovery addresses.  I get the following:
    "We can't sign you in.  Please check your account info and try again."
    That implies that my account info is wrong.  Should I quadruple check it or is that not necessarily accurate?  Furthermore, if my account info was wrong, why wouldn't it say that when auto-detect server is on?
    I've only tried on my windows phone and an iPhone, haven't tried an android yet.  The errors on the iphone are slightly different and just as not-working.
    I don't know what piece of config I could try again.  I can look at the logs on my windows phone but I don't know what I'm looking at.
    We pass all the Microsoft Remote Connectivity analyzer tests with green check marks.  It seems it couldn't be working any better now, except the fact that people can't log in to their phones.  Is there a Remote Connectivity Analyzer for mobile
    devices?
    Thanks for the help.
    Brandon

    Here are the censored iPhone logs.  I had the user disconnect from the internal network and try to sign in with Auto-Detect Server set to "on".

  • HT4061 I need to know how do I get my "My Gen" info from my phone to my PC?     Also, how do I add a printer to my i-Phone?

    I am a 78-year-old Senior Citizen.
    I am a native "OKIE" and very proud of my state and "My Sooners" showed the world how to 'hang-together' to win a very exciting, over-time, game.    First 'Bedlem" Overtime Game in a hundred years of the series.    Of course, until a few years back, if the game was tied at the end of regulation time, it went into the books as a tie, and we've had a number of those.    BUT, the Sooners lead the series by a wide margin and I'll never live long enough to see "the Pokes" catch-up or surpass us.   I have lived just 25-miles from Oklahoma A&M, latter to become Oklahoma State University.    I for one expect to see another name change in the not too distant future and then it will be known as "T-Boone U".     I have been an OU fan for over 70 years now and I don't expect to "win them all" nor am I "off them", if they loose.    I have been around long enough that I've "stuck by them" when they didn't win a game and I've there when they were 'National Champions'.
    Also, we lived through our "Day of Infamy", April 19, 1995.   We didn't lose as many as 9/11, and the media doesn't mention the "Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building Bombing" but those 168 men, women and the 20 children, were just as important to us as were those that were lost on 9/11.    But, we "Okies" remember and we hold a "Memorial Service" at 9:02am every April 19, 1995.    We are a fiercely loyal people and a friendly, welcoming, and loving bunch, as we proved when the rescue units came in and when their tour was over stated, "The next time we're called out to an emergency, if they don't live-up to the "OKLAHOMA STANDARD" we aren't going.    The men, women, and K-9 Units that came from all over this great country of ours, never had to spend a dime.
    Our TV stations stayed on 24-hours a day and when those precious people were in need of food for their dogs, special clothing for themselves, food, and a million other things, we 'OKIES' saw to it that they had the items they needed."   They were never charged a penny for food and something to drink when they came off their 2 hour shifts of trying to find more people still alive and they mourned our losses, just as we did.  They were given lodging, at no cost, they had hot meals waiting for them, at any tick on that 24-Hour clock.    No, we are no longer the "John Steinbeck Images" of times past.   Will Rogers, another one of our gifts to the world, made the statement during the dust bowl days and many people had to leave "for greener pastures" because they wanted to provide for the love of their lives, their families.   But, Will Rogers said:  'There was a sign post out at the state line with two wooden arrows on it. One had 'California' written on it and pointed west.   The other one, pointed south, had 'Texas' on it.    Them that could read turn south and went to Texas, them that couldn't read went to California and all three states were better off for it!"
    But, if any of y'all are down this way, please take time to visit the 'Oklahoma Memorial', you won't be sorry.   Just follow the highway signs that are all over the City, you can't miss it.   It is a very sacred place to us and if there are a thousand people milling around, you won't hear any loud voices, no blaring loud - speakers, it just a special place to us and will be to y'all if you'll take the time to visit.   And the museum is a must see, too.
    Back to the business at hand.   I have made the Sunday Bulletin [Program] at our Church for 52-years, NEVER MISSING A SUNDAY!     The Ward has never been "charged" for it because it has been a 'work of love' and my husband and I have donated it as part of our showing our love for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, the Savior of this world.
    We have one child, a daughter, three granddaughters, and in this picture are four of our ELEVEN great-grandchildren.   We thank Our Heavenly Father, every day, for our family and for living in the greatest country on the face of the earth.
    Oh yes, I would be eternally grateful if someone can tell me how to move "MyGen" off my phone.   I love doing 'Family History' but I need the almost 16,000 names on a flash-drive, so I can work with those names.    Also, how to put a printer access on, since there have been many times I'd like to have saved it directly to a printer.
    Thanks a Million, y'all and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and the BEST OF NEW YEAR'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You would really have to ask the app developer if there is a way to export the data.
    As for adding a printer, you would need to purchase an AirPrint compatible printer and connect it to your wireless network.
    By the way, your holiday letter/rant/Idon't even know what to call it... is completely inappropriate for these forums.

  • Fault with phone line cleared, but IP profile stil...

    Hi,
    Apparently there was a fault with my phone line (didn't seem anthing wrong to me), which had caused my IP profile to be dropped, although my connection had never dropped. So an Openreach engineer came out and did something down the road from my house. He called later that day (Friday) to say the fault had been fixed and that my broadband should return to normal after 3 days. Its now over 3 days and I'm still stuck at 2mbps.

  • No Phone or Internet for 14 days..!!!

    Phone line has been down for 14 days now with very intermittment internet access. Unable to work have to drive up the road to get mobile access as well as that depends on the BT router being active.
    Really getting quite fed up now of being told an engineer is coming to fix my fault and just nobody turns up.
    I have two over 80 year old parents living with me and it is impossible to keep in touch with them if I go out which is even more worrying.
    BT Customer service in India is useless they just keep apologising and telling me someone will fix the next day. Nothing happens.
    Absolutely disgusting service thinking of buying a pigeon now to deliver messages.
    Just goes on and on..................
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I feel for you, we haven't had a phone since 6 Feb, it was almost unusable for two months before because of noise on line. Fixing date is 9pm tonight, don't hold up much hope though. Same thing internet v slow and drops out continually. Apparently they started 'looking at the issue' at 7 am this morning. We live up on a hill with a line coming just to us and our neighbours for about 1/2 km so not priority. Line put in in 1937, underground, across a field I need to plough, god knows what depth, obviously cable degraded as not put in conduit in those days. I almost hope I do snag it when we can finally plough after all the rain as they will have to replace if it is laid too shallow, should be well below plough depth and not across a field in the first place, but they cut so many corners then. Only found out where it went by getting the (very nice) man out to find it with his zapper thingy. Even he was surprised at the route (although it was the shortest, but not recommended field margin one, his insinuation was go ahead, tractor is a faraday cage, just don't try and get out if you do snag).
    Let us all know how you get on.

  • What bit of "Please don't phone me" doesn't BT get...

    What bit of "Please don't phone me" doesn't BT get?
     I have experienced a cataloge of corrosponce with BT dealing with the bad broadband speed issues that I have had on my connection since last november. Too long to list here see the link below
    Terrible broadband speed
     Its fair to say that individual BT operators and advisors have been courtious and have tried to be helpfull most of the time but...BT have failed to find a long term fix for my issues.
    The last month up until yesterday I was lucky enough to experience a wopping and reasonable steady 1.5 mbps...wow! Seriously it was fantasic! Compared to a miserable 0.3mbps or worse. I felt I was getting what I was paying for! Then the bill came in (and was wrong yet again!)! and coincidently? the speed returned to its former low!
     Without baffling the humble user with scientific terminology, it turns out the problem is caused by line noise - not of my own making! Well, I noticed that incoming calls on the landline telephone were knocking my broadband out, after a while I made the desision to dissconnect the phone because of the issues with calls knocking my speed down. I imformed as many of my familly and friends not to call me on my phone and use my cell instead. However I can't stop random incoming calls, which sends the blue lights on my hub to flickering orange. This in turn equates to the stupid adsl2 software that BT use, knocking down my profile and hence speed!
     When are BT going to get to grips with their stiffling system that takes up to ten days to recallibrate itself?
     Their old system used to work fine at this rural address, quickly reasserting itself if there was a line knockout or interference - which is common in rural locations. Now it seems in order for BT to advertise super fast speeds to most that can benefit from it who live within a couple miles of the exchange. The rest of us that don't, have to suffer for the sake of this new adsl2 system. Its a shambles and at times heartbreaking and BT still expect us to pay the same as anyone else!
     Dont be fooled. If you live in a rural location or more than two miles from the exchange, the chances are that if you are experiencing loss of BB speeds recently, whence before you had a reasonable service. Its down to the new BT adsl2 system they have brought in. Its not your fault, don't let the customer support advisors tell you otherwise! At least thats my experience!
     The new system is more sensitive to noise, true it may be marginally faster, but as it turns out at what cost?
     I have had a dozen engineers who have come round and each remarkably have "found and fixed the problem" then I get a reasonable speed for a few days before it drops again as of yet I have not had a pernament fix!
     The loss of speed issues have led to a series of 'knock on effects' including my wireless BB BT mobile going beserk leading to a £260.00 bill for one month!
    #Being charged £40.00 for Broadband phone calls I did not make - I had to call in the police for the theft of phone calls made before BT would take me seriously - they said there was no record and that it was impossible to hack BT broadband phones! In the end they found a 'mistake' but it was a **bleep** of a fight to get them to admit that!
    Even after that, they cut me off (for non payment of these calls) and are now trying to charge me a reconnection fee!
    Also I am paying for an 'unlimited' broadband package and broadband anywhere - which is a complete joke because I am lucky if I can get broadband anywhere at all!I know I really need to sort this out - but there is no one dpartment it seems that can deal with it all
    After my BT Broadband Anywhere phone freaked out (Down to issues related to my BT hub losing connections - I ended up asking BT Mobile to dissconect my gprs for fear of it happening again - even though I was paying for the 'unlimited 'gprs service) and the 'stolen' BB phone issues, I dissconected my wireless completely!
    So NO BB on my BT mobile, on average I am lucky if I get a week a month on maybe 1mbps, the other three weeks on 0.3mpps on my home broadband.
     The trouble is that I am so sick and tired of being pushed from department to department and repeating myself on a weekly or even daily basis. I can never get one individual who can deal with all my problems in one go, #I am absolutely fatigued with it all.
    Going somewhere else is not an option I am imformed where I live.
    I have written letters to the customer service department and they have phoned me back and said things often at times when I am off-guard , so its hard to remember the details.
    Now my policy is to have everything put in writing.
    Despite using BT's 'contact us' form to report the latest speed issues and ticking the box that says
    "respond by email" and stating "Please don't phone me" as well on my message body....I get a series of phone calls! Both on my mobile number and on my landline!
    No comprehensible message returned as requested by email but phone calls from polite and friendly Indian help advisors...and guess what?   The calls the BT staff have made on my landline, has knocked my profile down even further!
    Even though I headed my message with "Please do not phone me on my landline phone number"
    How ignorant is that?
    I have even asked for my landline calls to be diverted, but that costs £5.00 pm - I don't see why I should have to pay for this.
    What I would like is for one BT person who can sort out All of these problems for me
    (That'l be technical department, security department, billing department, sales department, customer service department and more and then back again - I hav'nt got the stomach or time for being pushed from pillar to post!)
    - but from BT that is probablly asking too much!
    I fell I have had so many problems with the BT Broadband service, with the time I have spent trying to get things sorted, BT should be paying me! And  they should take a good hard look at how their system works!
     Bt have a **bleep** cheek to charge me £150.00 per quarter for all this!
    My father pays £96.00 for this same service, gets 8.00mbpsm, can use his landline and hubphone, can use his wireless, plus BT vision as well - How fair is this?
    I think its time for Ofcom

    It would be Otello and not Ofcom but in my experience they are very much in the pocket of BT (not least since they are funded by the telcom companies).
    I suggest you try contacting the mods here and see if they can help

  • Slow speed/high SNR margin after upgrade to ADSL2+...

    I have an issue with slow speed that I am suspecting is caused by a high SNR margin (about 12dB) which has come about (I believe) due to the fact that my router was repeatedly reset during the first few days of the upgraded service. The exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+ on 3rd January.
    I have a US Robotics 9108 which has worked fine for nearly six years. I was getting around 8Mbps before the upgrade which isn't far off the theoretical maximum.
    There was a problem with my router and I only found it to be my router at fault over the last few days. Upgrading its firmware has cured the problem which was that requests weren't being fulfilled once connection had been established, (seemingly particularly when this was ADSL2+ or ADSL2 mode). Consequently, I reset my router in these instances and I believe that this will have been interpretted by the exchange as being due to line noise. In general, I disabled ADSL2 and 2+ modes on my router to force it back to G.DMT and it usually worked fine (albeit slow sync rate relative to that I had before 3rd January).
    During fault conditions, the connection synced OK. I recently borrowed a router and tried it and it immediately connected faster than mine had done previously and I could access the web without issue. This confirmed that my US Robotics was at fault, and after downloading its latest firmware, it fixed the problem.
    There is no bell wire as there are no hard wired extensions from the master socket. I use a single filter which plugs directly into the master socket (i.e. no extension lead to the filter).
    I was using a BT filter (MF50) I got in 2004 when I first got broadband. This came with a Voyager 100 modem and is a rebranded YCL one. I have since replaced this with a Z350-UK which I have borrowed. The US Robotics didn't come with any filters.
    With the BT filter, caller display does not work at all when the router is connected in ADSL2 mode. In G.DMT mode the problem with caller display was intermittent. The Z350-UK has rectified the problem with caller display not working when in ADSL2 mode. I have ordered a Pressac Interstitial VDSL Faceplate as a perminant solution.
    Do I need to contact the support helpline to get this fixed? Or will the SNR margin drop over time? As I say, I got around 8Mbps before the upgrade.
    I am presently connected in 2+ mode and stats are:
    SNR margin (dB):
    12.8
    5.4
    Attenuation (dB):
    34.0
    12.0
    Output power (dBm):

  • Noise on phone line and broadband cutting out when...

    Hi, I have been experiencing a problem with my broadband dropping out when the phone is in use. I have also had a very crackly/noisy line whilst using the phone.
    After reading various problems on these forums (some sound similar) I wanted to see if anyone else could help as I’m still unsure what to do next. I haven’t really had much help out of BT except for them sending out a new Hub (V3) saying that it should fix the problem. It did not fix it and I have since had a few more conversations, which have resulted each time in BT saying that there is no fault on the line, and it will be £130 minimum call out for any further action.
    I have done everything I can think of in the house to see if the problem was to do with my household wiring including replacing the wiring for my extension. The filters have all been replaced and I have also used the quiet line facility and there is still noise on the line and the broadband still drops out when the phone is used.
    At the moment I really have no clue what to do next so thought if I post up my ADSL line status results that maybe someone would see a problem or maybe have a thought on what to try next as I don't really want to be paying £130.
    My set up is BT HomeHub 3 (option 3) with a BT Vison Box. The problem with the broadband dropping out seems to have started around the time I was notified by email that there was an upgrade on the network completion that was on the 24th June.
    Any help would be very much appreciated as this is understandably getting a very tiresome. Cheers in advance.

    One thing to add, are you sure on how they phrased the info regarding to the £130 charge. That should only really be applied if it is YOUR equipment that is at fault (and on some occassions if you have damaged the external line).
    I have what sounds to be a much more intermittent issue than yours, the vast bulk of my visits have resulting in the engineer not finding an issue (occassionally they do but then seem to lose that info before the next one) and I have never been charged since there is no issue with my equipment and the effect on the broadband can be seen via BT's own logging (ie speed reductions etc).
    There has been some reports that sound like inappropriate charging but really you have an obvious line issue and even if intermittent should not be chaged providing you have confirmed it is an external cause.
