Mark all RSS as read?

Is there a script/pluggin that enables one to mark all RSS feeds as read? I have mine in several categories and have to open each feed manually to clear the (new feed) number in bookmark bar. Time consuming - any ideas welcome...

Safari does not have a full set of controls for feeds such as a dedicated program such as NewsMac.
One thing you can do is to put all the feeds you want to check in a folder and put that folder either on the Bookmarks Bar or in the Bookmarks menu. With Preferences set to never check as I mentioned before, you can open that folder and choose "View All RSS Articles". What will happen is that you will be given a single page with the articles from all the feeds. This may take a few seconds or longer, depending on the number of feeds. Once Safari has finished loading that page, you can either access the articles from that page or from the bookmarks for individual feeds. When done, you can open preferences and "Remove All".
You can let Apple know what RSS controls you would like to see using "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu.

  • [suggestion] "Mark all topics as read" - "Mark listed topics as read"

I spend a lot of time browsing the forums, and I've come to use the "Show new posts since last visit" function to keep up with discussions. This function works best for me when combined with the "Mark all topics as read" function. To see what threads had activity since my last check, I "Show new posts...", proceed to reading the interesting ones, and finally "Mark all topics as read". The amount of unread posts, of course, is proportional to how long since my last visit, and so it takes some time for me to catch up after some absence.
Problem: During the time I spend reading new stuff there are often now posts added, so clicking "Mark all..." isn't really what I want to do.
So naturally I "Show new..." again to be sure. This works, but there is always a slight possibility that one gets added during the .5 secs it takes for me to click both links. Call me obsessive-compulsive, but it would feel good to be able to be certain.
Does anyone recognize this rationale? Are there existing solutions to this, maybe a non-web frontend or some forum feature I'm unaware of? Anyhow, if "Mark all topics as read" were replaced by "Mark listed topics as read" in the "Show new posts since last visit" view, there would be no uncertainty.
    Any thoughts?

    My browsing pattern:
    1. "Show Your Posts" - see if anyone has replied to threads I've previously posted in
    2. "Show New Post" - read all new posts
I could bookmark them, but it's a pain to sync bookmarks across Work PC, Work Laptop, Home Desktop and Home Laptop... Maybe I'm just being lazy. But hell, if I don't ask, I don't stand any chance of getting it moved
Even an extra <br> between them, or move them to one line and separate with ' - ' would help...

  • HT203216 How to mark all emails as read on the Iphone

How do you mark all emails as read on the IPhone? When I updated the IOS system it brough emails from my laptop as unread

No, there's no global 'mark as read' option.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
For IMAP accounts, though, if the mail was read elsewhere, it should not be marked as new mail on the phone. This is the case for my IMAP and Exchange accounts - if I read the mail in Outlook or another mail client, the new mail mark is gone from the iPhone after the next mail sync. For POP, that won't be the case, since POP mail 'lives' on the client it's always going to be new to the iPhone even if already read in another client.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
In the preinstalled email application, you need to long press one email to mark it. When an email is marked, you can either press the emails you want to mark as read or you can press in the top left corner to mark all your emails. You can then press the "Mark as read/unread" button in the top right corner.

  • Mark all emails as read

I see a lot of people with this question of how to mark all emails are read..
    Here's the solutions:
you can mark all as read at one time....
    1 go to email
    2 click edit
    3 choose one email
4 choose the mark button, but keep pushing the mark button
5 while holding down the mark button, uncheck that chosen email
6 release the mark button after a second or two
    7 choose "mark as read'
    hope this helps..
    Cheers,

  • Marking all items as read

Does anyone know when they might add a "mark all emails as read" feature? Currently, I have to go into each one separately and I would love to be able to "select all" and "mark all as read".
    Thanks!

Hello bgdesign and welcome to the Palm forums.
Lots of people, I'm sure are looking for this feature.  I've asked for the ability to multiselect messages too.  I don't work for Palm/HP so I have no idea when this feature might be coming to Palm webOS.
As a work around, you should be able to mark messages read in your email account when you access it from a PC and the update should sync down if you are using a Google or IMAP server.  If you are using a POP email server, I don't think that work around will work.

  • Mark All Email as Read on Palm Pre

    Hi,
I'm wondering how I would mark all my email as read on the Palm Pre.  I don't seem to see any options for it without going to each email separately.  If that option isn't available yet, it would be greatly appreciated in an update.  Thanks!

This is a necessity.  I really hope they provide this functionality in an update right away.   We need to be able to select multiple emails for deletion and also to mark all as read.  My business email has more than 200 unread messages and I am not going to open each one.

  • Shortcut to mark ALL msgs as "read"?

I've been marking individual msgs as "read" until they started piling up. Now,
I'd like to mark them all in one swoop, so that the "Total msgs unread" has
meaning again. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks!

Another way is highlight the date and click Menu button then select Mark Prior Opened.

  • Mark all email as "read"

Is there a way to mark all email in your inbox as "read" without having to open each message individually? I just got the iPhone and have been unable to find this option.
    Thanks for any help!

    No option.

  • How to mark all emails as read after syncing?

    hey folks,
i just synced my new iphone 3gs with my mbp and so far everything is fine except that all my mails from all my accounts (3x pop and 4x imap) are marked as "unread".
is there any smooth way to set all (~6000) mails as read? i was kinda dissapointed that the syncing was unable to get that information out of mail on its own..
hope anybody can help me here.
    thanks in advance

  • Why does Mail mark all emails as read when I close it with an email open?

If I use Mail with say, Gmail, and I open an email in Mail and then later archive all email in Gmail, then any future email that I receive are marked as "Read" in the Mail app. This appears to be because when you open an email in Mail and then it no longer exists (because it's archived) then Mail moves on to the next email, therefore marking it as read because it's opening it.
Is this really to be expected? Is there a way for the Mail app to "reset" itself like some other apps do, once they close, rather than save the last state that the app was in?

Does the iPhone still do this, or no longer?

  • WP7 - marking all emails as read

I wondered if there were a way to select all unread emails and mark them read?  I have been trying to do this for awhile, without success.  Loving the Trophy and WP7 though!
    Thanks,

Don't know if this will work for you but this is probably the quickest way to do it on WP7:
    Open email inbox.
Slide to the right to view all unread messages
Tap by the very left-most edge of the first message; you should then see a box next to all the unread messages
Tap each box of each unread message you wish to change the status of
Tap the settings at the bottom right corner (3 dots)
Select mark as read.  Every Checked Email should get it's status changed to read at that point.
There is no "select all" option in email at this time, but the above actually be done pretty darn quickly once you've practiced it a few times.

  • Adding 'Show new posts' and 'mark all topics as read' links

I would request the admins to add those links even in the sub-forums and within the threads as well. I always use those and find that I have to keep backing out everytime I go into a thread. I don't think it should be a huge deal to add a couple of links. That area is void of anything in the sub-forums anyway.
    Any +1s ??
No ...don't give just +1s ...its against the rules

    I agree !
I have always missed the "mark topics as read" on this forum.

  • How do I mark all mail as read

iPad mail shows hundreds of unread eamils but no messages have teh blue dot showing unread.  this happened when updated to IOS 7.  How do I reset to have no unread messages?

Yeah, this is something that I used OFTEN on my Treo... Is there an official way to submit suggestions, or do developers see this stuff?

  • IOS 4 And Marking All E-Mail as Read

    Hello,
Does anyone know if the "Mark all E-mail as Read" feature is going to make its way into iOS 4 / iPhone 4? I keep trying to find a full list of features for iOS 4, but all I see is buttons that say "learn more" and point at the same page which says the mail client was updated to support new exchange server, threading, and MORE FEATURES, which I can't find explained anywhere.
The only way I'll consider buying an iPhone is if I can mark all e-mail as read within 1-3 taps. Thus far, I can't find any indication that this is actually the case.
    Thanks.

errr no...it is not a trivial issue, it is a real one.
I get 100-150 emails today, including a lot of spam which is a never ending task to control. I like to be able to scan email subject lines, choose the mails I want to look at, and then mark all as read. The Blackberry has a feature to do this with 2 clicks.
I have just got my first iphone, the iphone4, and am absolutely lost for words that there is no "mark all mail as read" function.
Telling folks to move from POP3 to IMAP is complete tosh. I mention this, as this appears to be a stock answer on some other forums. Why should you have to change your mail accounts /set up forwarding etc., just because you have changed phones?
Come on apple, less of the BS fluff apps. Give us proper control over our email please ! Unbelievable.
