Mark areas in a PDF for signatures required

Dear Acrobat community,
I would like to mark areas in a PDF where the client is required to place a signature. I am thinking about an colored overlay similar to a yellow text marker.
I have a license of Acrobat Pro 11 available and I am looking for the right function to use. I have not been able to identify such a feature yet.
Can you help me out with this topic?

Info for Signature Require UPS delivery

This is for those of you who won't be around when your phone is scheduled for delivery.
I just spoke to a CSR rep for UPS - which took awhile, everytime I've tried to call in the automated voice says that they can't take my call at the moment and to call back later. I finally got through and this is what the CSR told me.
1) For those who live in apartment complexes - UPS can deliver your package to your complex manager or secretary, as long as they are physically there and able to sign for it.
2) Your neighbors can sign for the package as well (whether you live in an apartment or house) but it's somewhat discouraged unless you know your neighbor very well. Use your common sense.
3) If none of the above work for you, you will have to wait until the driver leaves you an infonotice - the little gold and brown form stuck to your door. Once you receive it, call UPS ASAP. They can then arrange for you to pick up your package the same day or possibly have the driver redeliver - usually, the driver won't be able to redeliver though.
It was made very clear that they driver will NOT be able to leave the package at your house without a person physically signing for it. I have had drivers do this before, even though it was a signature required package, but the CSR told me that for this particular package the drivers have all been instructed that they must have a person sign - a note or release form will NOT be good enough. Verizon must have been pretty adamant about needing the signature. That being said, there are probably a few drivers out there who would accept a note or forge your signature, but I wouldn't count on it. My problem is that I need the package delivered or picked up on Monday as my schedule for the rest of the week is even worse and I won't be home until after residential deliveries end for the day.
Anyway, I hope this helped someone - not trying to burst any bubbles, I just wanted to share what I learned so no one has any problems.

Mine is coming via UPS and I ordered from Apple. It is possible they are using both couriers, though. And while I'm very familiar with UPS, I don't know too much about FedEx. It may be true they won't accept pre-auth notes. I work in logistics and my UPS preferred account rep did say these pre-auth forms are to be considered a signature by the driver as long as the driver can retrieve it and take it back to the hub. The one downside is, if your phone was damaged during shipment, notes and pre-auth forms mean you can't file a claim. Just a thought.

Goodmorning, I just saw that you can send a fillable pdf for signature and this will allow the person to fill out the contract, sign and email back. The one time I tried that it did not work. What are the steps, or a link to the directions, to do this?

Proposals are not getting generated for BOM items in MD50

Hi Gurus,
I have maintained strategy 50 in MRP for header material , Item category gp as LUMF & maintained consumption parameters in material master .
For dependent requirements i have maintained BOM for production & sales usage, Strategy is blank as it is customer specific component , Item category gp is NORM , individual requirements i.e 1 in MRP 4 view.
MRP type is PD in both materials.
When i run a MRP thru' MD50 after getting customer order.
it is not planning my dependent requirements i.e. proposals are not getting generated for dependent requirements (BOM materials).
Please let me know the solution.

Please tell me where you are seeing this error message. It's not one that I'm familiar with as being related to Acrobat or Reader. Is it coming from your online fax service, or does it appear when you try to open the PDF file that you received in Acrobat or Reader?

Pdf doc is required for B2C CRM 2007 WEB SHOP

Hello Experts,
We have a scenario where (pdf doc ) is required for b2c Header level and tem level in CRM 2007 web channel.
we have set up a product and product catalog and maintained a PDF document in the HEADER AREA--
Documents Tab--BDS_PDF folder.
After intial replication Documents was published in the following path
*catalog/DE DE161EE3D35DAAF19F1E000C29D94525.pdf *
we are able to find images and pdf in the index server but unable to see the same in the web shop.
Did I miss some thing ? Do I need to do any other settings in XCM or in JSP?

I checked your account at the backend and found many transactions sent out.
In order to narrow down the issue and search we need to know the specific transaction detail for which you faced this issue.
1. Signers email address
2. Senders email address
3.Name of the document
4. Date it was sent.

IOS required for signatures to send to MARS

I understand there is IOS that contains security signatures that can send syslog messages back to MARS for signatures alerts. Are these signatures in IP Base or is there another train required? I tried doing the software advisor tool but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

You do not get the IDS/IPS features in the IP Base IOS. The feature you're looking for is IDS and/or IPS. It is included in the Enhanced Security and FW/IDS IOS releases. Please note there are significant changes between pre and post 12.4.11T IOS releases (mostly the diference between ver 4.x and ver 5.x signatures).
If you want reporting data fed into CSM, you will get more data fields if the signature event stream is SDEE rather than Syslog.

Errors in Export to PDF for web use - some images are lost when PDF is enlarged & in browser

I have a multi-page PDF in InDesign CS6 that I want to export to view on the web. I need the file to stay under 2MB, and I need it to be crisp and nice enough to read the type on the page (as small as 9pt type).
The errors that are occurring are the following:
On some browsers, some images will entirely not show up. Some of the missing images have been pasted into the document, some placed. I cannot think of a correlation.
When the PDF is enlarged (Adobe Acrobat X 10.1.10) to more than ~200%, there is one placed image that will mostly disappear. What I mean by "mostly" is that little bits of it are still visible, like I masked it carelessly or something. Since this is only occurring with one image it seems that it would be a problem with the image itself, yes? I'm all ears if I'm making a mistake. It is a placed .ai file with no link errors. Should I not be placing directly from illustrator? It renders wonderfully from 100% all the way up to 188%, and then if you enlarge by margins of 1% little bits of it disappear, almost a chunk at a time.
The way I've been exporting is:
File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print)

I always change the downsampling from [100/150] to [150/225]. I usually leave the JPG image quality low. I leave both bottom boxes checked (compress text and line art, crop image data to frames)

However, after reading a few other forum questions I started trying to export as Acrobat 4 so that it would flatten. When I do that, problem #2 still persists although I didn't test problem #1. I haven't tried using Distiller, and using the "prepare for web publishing" action within Acrobat itself makes the PDF too artifacted.
At the heart of my question is this: I am a young designer at an old company that is not necessarily keeping up with the times. I REALLY want to know what the best, most efficient way to export a pdf for web viewing is. Does this exist in InDesign, outside of InDesign? Does it exist at all? Tell me what I'm doing wrong so that I can get better!

We are creating templated PDF's for our new web to print software. How do you create the fillable pdf so that when ripped it will separte the pms colors? Our designers say that the fillable text can only be in black and can't be in a pms color?

I see. It's true that form fields do not support spot colors. I know you can flatten form fields, converting the field text to regular text, and embed the fonts using Preflight. What I don't know is if you can then convert the font color to spot (maybe using Advanced > Print Production > Convert Colors), but it's worth looking into.
