"Mark as Unread" option GONE

In the past, I was able to mark read emails as unread by tapping the "Mark as Unread" option near the upper-right corner of any mail message in iPhone.
Now that option is GONE. Does anyone know if that was a result of 1.0.1? Has anyone else noticed?

brand new iPhone here and Ive updated to 1.0.1 ( although Im not sure how to confirm this update).
I dont see a "blue Details" link. I do however in any email, see a Mark as Unread option.
Whats going on ?

  • Iphone Outlook 'mark as unread'

I have recently upgraded the software for my iphone from IO3 to IO6. Originally, my Outlook used to have the option to ‘mark as read’ and 'unmark' on each email message. Now this facility has disappeared. Can you advise how I can reactivate this feature?
    Thanks

  • Is there a mark-unread option for mails on Iphone ?

    Hi all
I was wondering whether there is unread option for the mails on the Iphone ?
    Thanks

    Tes there is.
Open the message and at the bottom of the header is a button labeled "Mark as unread".

  • How do I delete all my sent emails on IPad 2?  I only get 2 options: Flag and Mark as Unread.  It doesn't let me Mark All of them.

Have been trying to figure out how to delete all of my sent mail on my IPad 2...it only lets me choose to Flag or Mark as Unread.  It will take me hours to go through and check off each one.  I have 2 years of emails in my sent folder!

Unfortunately, there is no way to select them all at once to delete them. You do have to select one at a time.

  • Sent email gets marked as 'unread'

    Hi all,
I'm getting two rather frustrating issues on Apple Mail.
Firstly, sent emails are starting to, on occasion (probably 50% of the time), get marked as 'unread' in my sent mailbox. This was not an issue in the past.
Secondly, my to do items are disappearing. The items are being stored on a local calendar (so no sync issues I would presume), and I create them via a note. The to do item on the note greys out and disappears from the to do list.
Any assistance for either of these issues would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rhys

    Hi,
Do you have any add-in installed in your Outlook? If so, we may try to start Outlook in safe mode to see if this issue is caused by nay problematic add-in. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook.exe /safe and press Enter. If this issue would be gone in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-in to resolve the issue.
If this issue continues in Outlook safe mode, we may also try to login to webmail interface and check if this issue can be reproduced from there.
Please let me know the result.

Starting this week, anytime I reply to an email from Outlook 2013, the email is being marked as unread. This causes my phone, ipad, and other devices to show that I have an unread message when I do not.

  • Mail Rules missing "mark as unread" and "mark as unflagged"

I'm adding some new rules in Mac Mail and just noticed that there is no option to "mark as unread" in my list. My friend has it coming up, but it isn't there for me.
When I click to add a new rule, the drop-down for Perform actions lists "delete", "mark as read" and "mark as flagged". I'm missing "mark as unread" and "mark as unflagged".
Why would I be missing those options?
    Thanks,
    Morton++

Mail rules doesn't offer these options which is why you don't have them. Your friend must be mistaken. and anyway since the rules are only applied to new messages there is no point in having the option to mark them as unread - they are unread already. You can add a rule to unflag messages using apple script but if I'm not mistaken all new messages are unflagged by default too so there is no point for this one either.

  • How to mark email unread in ios6

What happened to the ability to mark an email as unread? I need help. This is how I managed my to do list.

When in the opened e-mail look at the bottom left corner of the screen and you'll see a flag symbol.  Click that symbol and it will give you the option to flag the e-mail or mark as unread.

  • How do I keep my yahoo PC emails marked as unread????

When my emails push through to my BB, they are automatically marked as unread in my yahoo account on my PC even when they have not been read anywhere...not on my PC or on my BB. How can I keep my emails marked as "unread" on my PC until they have truly been read???  THANKS!!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When using a POP email on a BIS account, the only effect Outlook can have on your email is if the "Leave a copy on the Messaging Server" option isn't selected in Outlook's advanced options.  BIS pulls emails directly from the mail server, thus whatever happens in Outlook has no effect.  There could be some effect if you were setup with IMAP, in which case, moving messages in Outlook, if they are synchronized to your mail server, may not even appear on your BlackBerry.
In this case, they are using Yahoo, which works completely different in terms of BIS and the BlackBerry.
You are right, I may have misinterpreted, however, we'll wait to see what they say

    Hey there Fabian,
If I understand correctly you are going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Add Account but that last option is not usable because it is gray. In testing this for you, I was able to reproduce this by enabling Restrictions and denying Account Changes. You can configure that with this article:
About Restrictions (parental controls) on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

  • Using Applescript to track Mail "Mark as Unread"

    Hi,
I'm new to actionscript, I've never written anything using it. I'm a web developer, so I know JS, PHP and languages like that, but Applescript seems quite different to me.
Anyways, I would like to know if it is possible to have a script in the background with an event handler that will trigger additional actions when a message is marked as unread?
Pretty much, I want some code (that I will work out later) to be executed when a user marks a message as unread in Mail. ("Message"->"Mark"->"As Unread" OR ⇧⌘U)
    Thanks

    I'm new to actionscript
    You mean AppleScript, right?
I would like to know if it is possible to have a script in the background with an event handler that will trigger additional actions when a message is marked as unread?
Not directly. The ideal way of doing this would be for Mail.app to have some kind of option to attach AppleScripts to events within the application. It's entirely possible to do within the OS, but few applications take advantage of it - that includes Mail.app, so there's no way to have Mail.app call your script directly.
The closest you could get would be a background script that silently polled Mail.app for the status of all messages and somehow detect when a message went from Read to Unread. This could be unwieldy, especially if there are many, many messages in the mailbox - you pretty much have to keep track of every read message and scan for any unread messages that are in the previous read messages list. This option doesn't work if you want to perform some real-time action such as interact with the user since there would always be some delay between the user action (marking the message unread) and the script noticing it.

  • IPhone Mail Mark as Read/Mark as Unread PLEASE ALREADY!

Please send feedback to Apple to have then add the following long overdue functionality:
    Mark Read
    Mark Unread
    Mark All Read
    Mark All Unread
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Thanks, CT, but I really want Mail to NEVER mark anything as read automatically because I often open a message and skim it to assess its urgency, then leave it for later.  Your suggestion would at least mean that a message isn't marked read just because the cursor happened to land on it, but what a nuisance to have to turn off the preview pane and do all that extra clicking when all I need is for Apple to think for five seconds about how people actually work, and to understand that we need to control our own activities, not have some anonymous coder make those decisions for us based on ... what?  No research, no analysis, no thinking - just the first notion that came into his or her head.  Sorry to rant - it really does cause me genuine stress.
I've looked at various alternative mail/calender/task clients, but can't find one that syncs with other devices.  Or one that allows you to attach a reminder (with date and alarm options) to a message.  I have Mail Hub and Fantastical installed.  I just need one more plug-in that controls the read/unread behaviour properly and my life would suddenly be manageable and tolerable.  It seems like so little to ask.  I hope somebody else knows of such a plug-in.
Not being a coder and a fairly recent Mac convert, I know nothing about Apple Script, but I did wonder if the behaviour could be controlled with a script or an amendment somewhere else.  All suggestions welcome - and extra gratitude for 'for dummies' explanations.

  • Sent messages are being marked as "unread"

Ever since installing OS X 10.8.3, both my iMac and MBP have been leaving sent messages marked as "unread".  Not all outgoing messages are being left in this unread state, but most are.  Any ideas on why this might be happening and how to fix it?  Is anybody else having the problem?  A search of the forums shows some old material that might be related, but I don't see anything that has any answers.
    TIA for you help.

This stopped happening as mysteriously as it started for me. The only change made on my end is that I added some seemingly unrelated filter Rules - around the same time (i can't be entirely certain if it stopped before or after the Rule changes) the proble with sent messages being marked as unread stopped. I doubt that the Rules actually had a direct effect, though perhaps it altered the structure of memory enough to stop the bug from occurring (something which I've seen many times in my 40 years of programming).

  • All mail is marked as unread following iOS 7 install.  How do I fix that?

All mail is marked as unread following iOS 7 install.  How do I fix that?

Ignore my last question.  This was entirely user inflicted.
The count that shows on the mail icon on the iPad shows the number of email in the "New" folder on my AOL account.  Some of these are emails that I read and then marked as unread.  In the previous versions, these "read and then marked as unread' emails did not show in the count on the iPad icon...but now they do.  Not a big deal...it's just different.
    Thanks for your help.
