Mark place WITHIN web page?

Is there an extension for Safari that would enable the user to mark their place within a web page (not just the web page itself)?

Select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

Blue question mark on some web pages

hi i am getting blue questions marks on some web pages. like..... TheAVENUE.com i see the start page, and i see the pictures there, but when i go to click an link like sweaters, and the sweaters are suppose to pop up i see the blue question marks. this only only happens on a fewweb pages. any idea whats going on?

thanks for your help, I called my internet people. and they are having the same issues. they are guessing they company is blocking us from viewing it. It happens alot though. My husband is in the military and we are stationed overseas. I will have to call them and let them know they are blocking our Ip addresses

Can't select links within web pages

Just got an iPhone. Able to load web pages but once open, cannot now select any links within any web pages. Appeared to be working on Apple page initially but then stopped.

Make sure the page is completely loaded before clicking on anything..
Next use the zoom in feature to get a better angle at it
If these two steps fail try refreshing the page and then trying.

Showing Visual composer iviews within Web Page Composer (wpc)?

I am able to integrate KM iviews from the PCD into my web page composer pages, but when I try showing Flex 2 iviews generated by Visual Composer the flash runs on top of everything else on the page. The flash is simply put at page coordinates 0 x 0 whatever page region you try to put it in.
This is if iview isolation methold is set to embedded. If iview isolation method is set to URL then nothing is shown as the region is simply collapsed as if the content wasn't there.
I know there is a limitation to using Web Dynpro iviews with WPC pages, but the documentation says nothing about Visual Composer iviews.

Fixed by choosing fixed height for the iview (pcd config) and keeping isolation method set to URL.
This is as opposed to integrating KM iviews (document lists) where isolation method should be set to embedded and height kept to automatic.

Question marks all over web pages

I downloaded Quicktime 7.1.5 with iTunes and now heaps of websites come up with little Quicktime "Q"'s with question marks over them come up on screen instead of ads, movies, etc.
Some pages don't even get that far they just don't properly load. I never had the trouble with the previous version so I can only assume it's the current settings of this new version. I've tried loads of different settings, uninstalling-reinstalling, nothing seems to work!!!
HELP PLEASE!

I think that may have done it. There were several sites that were showing the problem and I haven't been onto all of them yet but I think that may have done it, thanks heaps

Ap div locking location within web page

I am relatively new to web design but would like some help
with locking the ap divs to a position on the web template.
if I align left for the page everything appears to work ok.
When I align centre then this is where the problem starts -
the main page centres ok but the ap div boxes with text etc
although in design view it is ok when I test on IE the ap boxes are
to the left of the main page.....- any help would be appreciated.

Your problem lies in not understanding what an AP div is. The
AP stands
for "absolutely positioned". An AP div with a top position of
50px and a
left position of 100px will always be 50px from the top and
100px from
the left of the page. It never moves, because it's absolutely
positioned.
Not only is it absolutely positioned, it's removed from the
flow of the
rest of the page. So, if you have other elements in your
page, they will
act totally independently of the AP div(s).

Loaded up Firefox home on my ipod touch and whenever I go to open a book mark or a web page it crashes and shuts down.

I have loaded the firefox home on my ipod touch and sync'd it. Everything came over in the sync but when I open something, and then start scrolling down the page, it just shuts the program down.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

Ouicktime Q has question mark on all web pages, I uae Firefox as a brouser

I have purchased and installef QT key, restarted computer several times since purchasing key, when I open Quicktime I can see the registration code.
Nevertheless any pages I go to that apparently has some quicktime running, there is just this giant Q with a ? in the middle. So, now what do I do?

Quicktime with a ? refers to Flash video, which Quicktime does not play.

In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

Safari Screen Draw Glitch? - History Coverflow Appears within Web Pages

I've started noticing on a few websites that somewhere within the webpage a portion of History Coverflow will appear within the website I'm visiting...

Running Safari 5.0.2 with all OS updates installed.

I'm not getting the CoverFlow interface partially appearing in windows like you are, but on two of my Macs, I've noticed hundreds of +error: unknown error code: invalid drawable+ messages in the console from Safari.
I think it's definitely a problem with CoverFlow, as when I launch Safari without going near the History or TopSites screens, I don't get these messages. As soon as I invoke the History window (CoverFlow view), once I return to browsing, the messages start. It's something to do with Safari capturing and caching screen images.
The way I've avoided this until it's fixed is to change my default homepage to anything other than TopSites, and to use the History menu rather than the CoverFlow view.
I've certainly had a few little glitches in Safari 5.x generally.

How do I stop playing animated GIF's within web pages?

Various websites display numerous images available for download. Some of those images are animated GIF files. These files take time to load and chew up a lot of my limited upload/download usage. IE Explorer let me see a single image for the GIF but doesn't load or play the GIF. How do I get that same setting in Mozilla Fire Fox?

i found a couple different ways this can be done.
1. this firefox addon, [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toggle-animated-gifs/ Toggle animated GIFs], seems to work pretty good. ctrl+m toggles the animations on and off.
2. if you don't want to install an addon, you can go to your browser configuration file. type ''about:config'' in the address bar and find the entry ''image.animation_mode''. double click it and set its value to ''none''. this should disable all GIF animations

Since latest upgrade I cannot "print" or show "print preview" from any web page. This is true of both of my printers and I have followed directions on plug-ins and have reinstalled Firefox etc. I am about ready to switch to Internet Explorer! w

Since upgrading Firefox, it doesn't respond when I click on print and/or print preview while displaying web pages.. No error message, just no response. I tried using both my printers..a HP and a Canon and get no results with either. I have no problem printing from any other place (including "Print" instructions within web pages, usually). I have recently upgraded my desktop (Dell Vostro 220) to Windows 7 and it went smoothly. The Firefox upgrade came at about the same time, so I don't know if Windows 7 is part of the problem. I need be able to print from the screen of web pages!

Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Firefox prints incorrectly]]? There is some good troubleshooting information in there. I would suggest that you try resetting your print settings.

Displaying Web Page on a Report

I need to place a web page on my report to print out base on a field that is currenly on the report. It may sound easy to some but not me.

I don't think you can do that.
The web site is a dynamic page.
If it were a "snapshot" of the web site, then you could put it
in a picture box.
Someone will have to click the link in order to trigger it.
It might be possible to trigger this event if
you were wrapping the .rpt file in code (C#, VB, JAVA, etc)
On the printing, you might be able to set up having a .pdf
sent from the report server.

Web pages move to top with safari

my web pages don't stay where i place cursor, web pages jump back to top immediately..using safari browser

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plug-ins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Slideshow in PSE6 onto web page.

Can anyone help? I have PSE6 & a Mac OS. I used "Museum" to create a slideshow to put on a website. Mac versions don't have Organizer, they have Bridge which doesn't give you the option to place onto web page. Does anyone know how I can put it on website? Nothing has worked so far . Thanks

In Windows PSE offers the option of My FTP Site; sou you will have to use your own software.
Give the project a name e.g. webgallery-1 and click save to create a folder. The folder will contain the html or flash gallery resources and an index file.
Use your FTP application to upload the folder to your website.
Enter your details usually:
[ftp.yourdomain.com] and your password, then upload.
To go to the slideshow enter in your browser
[http://www.yourdomain.com/webgallery-1/index.html]
