Sorry Apple I have decided this is Virgin Media changing settings for their blueyonder accounts and not telling anyone do I have stopped using them for email.

I have noticed that emails sent on my iPhone and now iPad out with the email client such as a picture or a link from Safari have not sent and disappeared as if thy never existed. This seems to be an Apple issue as I have struggled with this all week using all the tips I could find including deleting the email account and turning off the iPhone. I could then not re-add the email account until I reset the phone. I have this morning sent email fine from within the email software but emailing a link from Safari has just disappeared as if it never existed. This in reliability is making email on these devices useless. It does not appear to be an issue with the imap email (virgin media / blueyonder / gmail account). This would appear to be an iOS 6 bug to a novice like me as it has only started since the update.

Hey there Fabian,
If I understand correctly you are going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Add Account but that last option is not usable because it is gray. In testing this for you, I was able to reproduce this by enabling Restrictions and denying Account Changes. You can configure that with this article:

HT1491 On both my iPhone & My iPad I keep getting the same message. Cannot connect to iTunes Store. I can connect on my Mac. Until the other day I have always been able to connect on both iPad & iPhone.

Emails keep disappearing off my iPad 2 even unread ones only started doing this since upgrade to os5

Emails just disappear off my ipad2 even ones I have not read, they don't even go into deleted they just vanish which is really weird as only started happening sine os5 upgrade please help as I can't work remotely with iPad when put and about.

Try reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

Emails are being deleted as soon as I open my email folder and I have to read them in the deleted folder.
I cannot find anywhere in settings to change this.

i had the same problem. but i noticed that once your laptop email downloads the email it will go from your inbox in the iphone. it is this new setting from hotmail. you cannot do anything. but if u have anothe email address like gmail or icloud.
first go to hotmail account setting from browser in your computer. in the setting you will see email forwarding. type in the alternate email address like gmail or icloud. u will receive email on those account which has come from hotmail. and gmail and icloud stays on the iphone.

Both iPad & iPhone only show 500 old emails

Both of my mobile devices are showing 500 old emails from 2009 what is going on ? I have tried deleteing account and re adding but no change, earlier about 4 hours ago all was fine then bang it just started to only show the 500 oldest emails

You should check what icloud is currently storing in the email server to see if it's just the devices or the emails are really gone.
Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and then go to the email page. If all "recent" emails are gone, then someone has deleted them, most likely - do you share your icloud account with anyone else?

Getting 5D Mark II Video From Aperture to iPad/iPhone

I’m looking for some help on my workflow. I’d also like to know if I’m actually just missing something in the way iTunes handles syncing video from an Aperture library to an iPad or iPhone. Video, and specifically video from my 5D Mark II, is what’s causing me trouble. I think the actual issue is the manner in which iTunes handles the 5D’s video, but maybe you can fill in some of the blanks for me, and offer a suggestion or two.
CURRENT WORKFLOW
I’m ingesting to an Aperture library via (1) Photo Stream (for still images from my iPhone 4S and iPad “3”), (2) PhotoSync for videos from the same two iOS devices (it’s an app that allows WiFi transfer from device to laptop, etc.), and (3) via CF card from the 5D to the laptop, over a FireWire reader (stills and video). Once everything’s in Aperture, I add metadata, assign ratings, add keywords, make adjustments, and set up Smart Albums to make it easy to pick what to sync to my iOS devices (the two listed above, plus an iPhone 4 and original iPad for others in my household).
ITUNES SYNC ERRORS
I use iTunes to select the Smart Albums and whatever else I want to sync from Aperture, and sync over WiFi. In choosing the photos, the box is ticked to include videos. Several videos sync without trouble, but it appears that they are limited to those shot on an iPhone or iPad. The videos that came from the 5D throw an iTunes sync error, that basically says: “Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video [file name], were not copied to the iPad “[name of iPad]” because they cannot be played on this iPad.” A disclosure triangle below that text reveals the full list of files suffering this fate.
There are two problems with that error message. First, the 5D videos are not actually in my iTunes library -- they’re in an Aperture library, just passing through iTunes on their way to one or more of the iPhones or iPads. Second, the videos actually do play just fine on the iOS devices. I know this because a friend suggested I test it by transferring the same 5D video file that would not sync over to the iPad a different way. I used Dropbox to get the file onto the iPad, and once there, it played just fine.
REQUEST FOR HELP
So, first, is this behavior as it should be? I’d think that a video that plays fine on the device, and fine on the Mac, should have no trouble syncing from the Mac to the device., but perhaps you can explain why I’ve got that wrong. Second, am I right to figure that iTunes is the culprit here? If so, what exactly is it doing? Third, and assuming there is no fix for what’s happening, what’s the best (most automated) way to get those videos onto the iPad? I keep the stills and the videos all together, organized chronologically on hard drive, and I’d like to keep it that way. I’d also really prefer leaving the 5D videos in Aperture.
The best I’ve been able to even sketch out mentally is to try a Smart Folder in Finder that can identify and distinguish the videos from the 5D vs., say, an iPhone video. Then that smart folder somehow gets synced to something that lands on the iPad. That’s just a loose concept; I’m not sure how to execute it, and I’m not sure how much trouble it would be. If you can help me figure out how to do this, or if you have a more elegant solution, I’ll be in your debt.

I got exactly the same problem (same config. and workflow but the wifi sync).
I manage to workarround it, as you anticipated, by a Smart Folder where I filter the 5D videos like this:
"Add Rule" -> "Aperture Metadata"
"Aperture: [Aperture Filename] [Is not empty an does not contain] [MVI_]"
Please, Apple guys, consider our concerns as a bug in the "Liberal Arts / Tech" cross. Yes, I know it could yield a way to introduce piracy video to the photo/video viewer on iOS, but we need a way to do it with our own video creations without workarrounds.

Why it's taking so much free available space when I sync both iPad & iPhone

I really need some solution for this and I hope you can help me. There's something strange about every time I sync both of my iPhone 5 & iPad 3 when I open and using my laptop to backup them. Now here's the strange part: my free Available space is used to be 29.39 GB out of 64 GB from my iPhone 5 for example but after for a while, it's 19.64 GB free. And the funny thing is I haven't added anything extra like movies for example since I can watch movies through iCloud Wi-Fi. I was wondering why does this happen for both of my devices iPhone and iPad?

Most likely there is corrupt data on your iPad.
Restore and see if that helps.
Next try to restore as new.
If neither of those help take it to Apple.

Are you using Apple Mail? Gmail App? Are you using a personal address "@me.com"?
To give you a generalized answer. If your using a Pop Server (You have emails downloaded to each individual device via pop.emailprovider.com) in Apple Mail. Its possible that you have a setting causing emails to delete from your device, not the server where your emails are stored. If you can view your emails on more than one computer, then the emails are stored on your server. My recommendation would be to use an IMAP server setup if possible.
If you could answer some of my questions, I would be happy to help you more. It appears to be an issue with the device deleting local emails downloaded to it, rather than the emails deleting server side.

Why do I lose mail from my iPhone4 and recently from my iPad2? It happens infrequently, but when it does the messages completely disappear from my device(s); the messages are not in my trash.

OK, so I decided that maybe if I "sync" my iPod instead of just copying stuff to it at will, that maybe it would fix the problem. I did a "restore", wiping out the contents. I set up a "playlist", and put everything that I wanted on the iPod into the "playlist". Then I "synced" the "playlist" onto the iPod. Every song and album now had the proper album art. I could live with this. Then I added another album to the "playlist", and "synced". The new album was now on the iPod with the correct artwork. The albums that were already on the iPod now either had their appropriate artwork, no artwork, or the artwork from the other albums that were already on the iPod, with no rhyme or reason as to which was which. AARGH. I wiped it out and re-added the now-explanded "playlist" and "synced" again, and every album had the right cover. I guess the only thing to do is completely replace the contents of the iPod any time I want to add or change anything, or forget about artwork.

I have an ipad and an iphone. For the purposes of facetime, I would like to associated my email address with just the ipad and my cell number with just the iphone. I went to settings facetime on the iphone but it won't let me remove the email address.

However, I cannot remove the email address from the iphone. So, when I get a facetime via email, it rings on both the iphone and ipad. Settings>>facetime will not let me remove the email.

I wouldn't want to say exactly, however I would imagine that it has to do with the fact you use the same Apple ID on both devices. Since Facetime was activated on the phone, with the number, and then activated on the iPad with the email and same Apple ID, they are somehow linked. I'm not sure that you can separate it without having a different Apple ID on the two devices. Otherwise you can look at this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3367 and see if that helps you any.

Why have my emails suddenly disappeared from bt and Gmail?

does anyone know why my emails hVe disappeared from my iPad? Both gmail and Bob internet mail? All emails are coming into my laptop but none to my iPad and the ones I had opened have all disappeared too!

My password doesn't work with the old email address. When I look for my old email address in the Apple ID support area it says that the ID doesn't exist. Help!!!

You have to go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated credentials. This deletes the account and your synced data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing to a different account, your data will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.
