  • Can't install on my samsung vibrant because of "content rating filter" even after I have allowed for install of non-market apps. Firefox website says incompatible as well and my android platform is a version above.

I have a samsung vibrant phone. I am running android eclair, I think its 2.1. I was trying to instal firefox. Linking from the web to the android market, I get "app not found msg." To link from the web, I changed my phone setting to allow apps from non-market sources. When I visit the firefox web page for android I get an "app not compatible with phone" msg. same msg for both regular and beta, but my phone is listed in the compatible phones list. Upon trying to install anyway, I get an "incompatible with content filter settings" msg. What does all of this mean and how can I change it?

"Content filter" is the Android Market's method for restricting certain applications that may provide access to "mature" content. You can disable content filtering in the settings of the Market app on your phone.

  • Stock Market App/Widget

Greetings, I just came from an HTC Droid Incredible and now am on the Motorola Droid Razr.
Apparently (I havent searched fully yet) this doesnt come with a built in stock app so I'm having to search thru the Market for decent Stock widgets.
My main issue is the Dow Jones Industrial Average.  I cannot get any widget to display the proper price.  Every stock app I have right now (about 3 or 4) keeps saying 0.00   0% change, blah blah blah
    NOTHING
Every other quote I feed into the application gets me the proper readings, yes i understand its past closing (market) but why should that matter? My Droid Incredible had an awesome built in Stock Applications, even if after market closings I could still update it and it will give me the proper value ~ 11,900 or something
So please, before i go insane, can anyone give me a name of a good (free) stock market app that has a widget (small) that I can put into the droid razr.
I only care about 3 tickers: FRSLX; WMT; and DJIA
    Thanks

this one "was" real nice, but it looks like it is also having issues with the DOW:
    https://market.android.com/details?id=nitezh.ministock&hl=en
you could try it out though, as it has a nice widget (most of the stock market apps don't have useful widgets. the one on your incredible was part of htc's Sense UI.....the best UI out there, in my opinion).

  • Where can I download the Market app?

Does anyone know where I can download the Market application itself?  My market app crashed and after a whole bunch of troubleshooting, I deleted it but now I can not find out where to download it again.
Anyone know who has it for download?
As an alternative, will resetting the phone restore it? But will restoring cause the lose of personal settings and e-mail, etc? How do you reset the phone?
    Cheers.

    Hello mrwebman,
The information that Ann154 gave is absolutely correct! Thanks Ann154! Just to piggyback on her response, I would like to provide a link on how to perform a factory reset on the HTC Droid Incredible. Please see below.
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=30946
Once you have performed a factory reset then the device will need to be reactivated. There is a brief tutorial that will walk you though this process. Once the device has been setup, please verify that the market icon has been restored & that your voice service and data access is working. If you have any additional questions or concerns then don't hesitate to reply to this posting.
    Thank you...

  • Accidently deleted Market app..can it be reinstalled?

Has this ever happened to anyone? I accidently deleted my Market app.. I've emailed the customer service but haven't received a reply as yet. Can this be reinstalled?

There is no way you can delete the Market application from an Android phone. It is a system application. You can delete the icon from your homescreen. The Android Market was recently rebranded to the Google Play Store. Look for a Play Store icon in your application drawer.

  • Where is the Market App?

The market app is gone from my home screen. How do I get it back???

The market was updated today with a new name, the Google Play Store (I know, I hate it).  Along with it came a new icon, a multi-colored triangle.  Chances are yours updated without you knowing it and just looks different.

  • Market App Not working

    - Was working when first got upgrade now says "You must add an account to the device continue.  Do you want to add one now?"  Yes or No.  Click Yes and does nothing...

    Hi **01wcu,
I feel your pain; I browse and download applications from the Android Market continuously and I'd be frustrated if I was not able to access it. This sounds like an authentication issue. Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Market app and the Download manager. Here's how:
Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
    Tab over to "All"
Select the Market app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
You also must be able to successfully sign into Google Talk to download apps from Android Market. Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:
Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
Launch Talk again to sign in.

  • Market app

I just installed the newest updates for the droid x last night, and when I did that it got rid of the market app, I'm not sure what happened or if I'm just being **bleep**, but I've looked everywhere on my phone, and can't find it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Try a hard reset. Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications,so back up your information
From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).
    Touch Settings.
    Touch Privacy.
    Touch Factory Data Reset.
    Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
    Touch Erase Everything.

  • Market app gone?

I have a blackberry curve 9300 and the market app has disappered from my phone and I can't download anything. Is there anyway of me getting it back?!

    AppWorld?
    1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
    2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?
If so, press the Menu key > Delete.
Now, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
And the, using your BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/appworld and reinstall.

  • Market App Update

I was downloading an app through the Market App on my phone yesterday and about half way through the download process it stopped and I see a message on the top banner saying that Market was installed successfully.  I clicked on the Market App and was surprised to see the new look.  The new look kinda looks like a Windows 7 phone format.  Has anyone else got this update?

Yes it was noted elsewhere on this community.

  • Stock market app for iPhone 3

My kids deleted the stock market app that comes on the iPhone. I can't find a way to download it and it's not in my "not on my phone" apps. Is there a way to get it back?

It can not be deleted. It's part of the OS. It got moved to another page or into a folder.  Settings>General>Resets>Reset Home Page Layout will put it back where it came from if you can't find it yourself.

  • Download was unsuccessful (market apps) 2.2 android version

Have 2 motorola droids - on both since the 2.2 upgrade I am getting the above error message every time I attempt to download market apps. Any ideas welcomed. Thank you.

You might want to try clearing the Market cache too.
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select "All" in the top toolbar > Market > Clear cache
That's helped me in the past anytime the Market app started acting flaky.

  • Andriod Market App keeps crashing on K1

Anybody else having this problem with their K1? I can't shop for apps using the Andriod Market App because it crashes within several seconds of browsing/searching. I tried removing the pre-installed version of the app and then downloading/installing it from the internet website, but the problem persists. The app version is the latest (1.0.28) as is OS (build K1_A301_12_12_111109_US).

I likewise must join the list of individuals who have Android Apps crashing.  As the page begins to load it stops loading and reverts back to the desktop.  I have had my Lenovo K1 for two days and performed system updates to current and have loaded about 15 other programs.  Why is the documentation so lacking? After removing most of the apps I installed and having done a restart my Android shop feature still will not work.  Can somebody address this?

  • I can't sign into market apps.

When I try to access market apps, it asks me for my google pw which 1) I don't know and 2) that profile is no longer associated with my google acct. I don't know how to change the google profile it's looking at for a pw.

    Hi toni10085,
Being able to access the Market to purchase and/or download applications is very important, and should be an available feature to you.  I would like to assist you with getting access to the Android Market.
First, in order for me to provide you the correct instructions, please tell me the exact model Android you're using.  Also, in order to access the Market, it requires you to have a Google/GMail account associated with your device.  You can check the associated Google/GMail account by going into the "Settings" menu, and "Accounts and sync".  If you don't currently have a Google/GMail account integrated, you will need to add one at this point before gaining access to the Market.  If you don't currently have a Google/GMail account you'd like to use, you can always "Create" a new Google/GMail account, directly, from the "Add Account/Google" screen.  Once the Google/GMail account is added to the phone, you will be able to access the Market by signing into your Google/GMail account within the Market application.
Let me know so I can further assist.
    Thanks,
