Market for CRM

HI People ,
I just want to know the market for CRM in India and US . I have a business degree and more inclined towards the functional stuff. I have 2 yrs experience being a ABAPer and very much interested in moving to the functional side . Is CRM really good and some people were saying its full of bugs , the software has not been designed well ? Is this is a fact and if so wont it be a problem for CRM technical consultants ? How is it for CRM functional consultants? I am planning to do certification also ? will It help? i know i have asked many questions , but i think i need a break very badly....

more than two years ago i did the step from SCM to CRM.
At that time it was CRM5.0 which was a bit strange because it had 4 different user interfaces (SAP GUI, people centric UI, java interfaces and also IC webclient).
Today we are on CRM7.0 and it is better with the CRM webclient UI now. For me it was to right step to start with CRM. I do both technical and functional site. I guess in CRM most of the functional consultants do abap developments as well.

BP for CRM 5.0 Marketing Planner

We have Portal 2004s SP10, CRM 5.0 and installed Business Package for CRM 5.0. We are only using one iView at this time, Marketing Planner. Two issues with the iView.
1) Once I do anything to this iView, it retains this view until I either do a complete new search or physically change view. This is causing frustration if someone just wants to create a new plan.
2) When we have clicked new and then want to leave the iView, it states "all relevant fields have not been entered" and will not let the person leave the iView.
3) If the link to the iView is clicked on again, to refresh, this opens up the portal in a new window, this is not good.
I am assuming if I can get rid of problem 2, 3 will go away; but does anyone have any hints on how to get the iView to resume to it's blank state after leaving the iView such as logging out?
My client will be very happy for your help!

Installing the Business Package for CRM 4(60,2_3)

I am importing the BP for CRM 4 and getting some errors while importing it.
Error 1:
I get a lot of errors for the profiles that is not deployed... Like the profile navigation, default, xmlform and so on.. I.E:

CRM datatargets nog available in BI APD for CRM Update

Hi collegues,
I am a bit on a rush job here, so I havent got the time to figure everything out myself. Any help is appreciated.
I am trying to update Business Partner Routing Attributes (Marketing attributes) via the APD from BI to CRM.
All is built but i cannot select the data targets in the APD for CRM.
The error CRM error : Data target BPMKT not known
Message no. RSAN_MDL022
Diagnosis
The following error occurred while attempting to access the CRM system:
Data target BPMKTnot known
The message number in the CRM system is: 002CRMBW_ATTR_WRITE.

But when i select any BI adapter in the APD for CRM attributes i get the error mesage mentioned above.
do i have to release anything to BI?

How to Create Track in NWDI for CRM ISA 5.0

can anyone please suggest me how to create track in NWDI for CRM ISA 5.0 for different archive files which consists of source files like(ex: SAP-SHRAPP.SCA,SAP-SHRWEB.SCA, e.t.c.) and as well as empty source files like(ex: SAP-SHRAPP.SCA,SAP-SHRWEB.SCA, e.t.c.).
As far as i know SAP does not deliver sources for SCs SAP-JEE,SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JTECHS so we cant have them as "Developed Software Components" when we eg:want to modify the SCs SAP-SHRAPP.SCA or CUSTCRMPRJ.SCA.
here what i want to know is depending on which SCs we actually want to modify, based on that our track want to be Configured differently.
My question is how to configure the Track in NWDI for this kind of scenario.
If the source is not given and only required software components are given then how to create track in NWDI. for example in CRM ISA 5.0

Org structure for CRM 5.0

we are going for crm 5.0 n crm service, my parent company has 2 group companies , I would like to know whether i can have seperate org structure for each group company for each section (i.e: sales , marketing and service) for each group company
I justr want to confirm whether the org structure can be different for each group company for each function (i.e: sales , marketing and service) as well as the parent company can have a seperate org structure for all 3 functions.

I think it can definetely be different.
Our business case is the following:
We have two different nodes: one for sales organization structure and another one for purchase organization structure.
Then we have three different sub-organization branched to the main node. The three ones are for : Programs, Product and Marketing.
Just beware how FM might work in organizational model determination, once you create an order.

TDMS execution for CRM

Hi Folks,
I got a query related to TDMS execution for CRM. As per the operations guide available at Service Market Place, TDMS supports the following components:
As of Release TDMS 3.0, SP13, SAP TDMS supports the following components
 SAP ERP (Basis Releases: 4.6C, 6.20, 6.40, 7.00)
 SAP BI (BI 3.5 u2013 Basis Release 6.40; BI 7.0 part of NetWeaver 7.0)
 SAP CRM 4.0 (Basis Release 6.20); CRM 5.0 (Basis Release 6.40); CRM 6.0 (Basis Release 7.00); CRM 7.0 (Basis Release 7.00)
But my system is at CRM 5.0 on Basis Relase 7.0. If I execute TDMS time reduction scenario will there be any problem with data consistency. Can anyone tell me if TDMS supports my CRM test system. Appreciate your quick response.

CRM 5.0 requires a Basis release of 6.40 or higher for using TDMS .

SD MARKET FOR FRESHERS

Hi All,
I have almost 2.5 yrs experience in sales (services) in one of the prestigious Telecom company. My main profile runs around building relationship with the clients and generate revenues. I use CRM also as a part of my Job profile as an end user, mainly to raise the sales orders, contracts and other functions like creation of BP's, etc..
Now I'm planning to do SAP SD certification and for this I might have to leave my job also..Please tell is this worth or its a huge risk...
Is market good for fresher or is it saturated.

Your friends may be right, as the market for SD is saturated, particularly when number of SD consultants are around. For that matter, most of the standard modules are coming to standstill, because of the reason the consultants are growing exponentially and opportunities are getting limited. Yes, there would still be opportunities, if you are an established consultant with skills in niche areas.

Does EHP1 for CRM 7.0 require ECC to be on a specific SP level?

Dear All,
Is there any dependency on ECC i.e. do we need to be on a certain SP level in ECC.
Want to check if we can put EhP1 for CRM 7.0 for Marketing Component while keeping ECC backend at existing level i.e. without putting ECC on next level?
i.e. ECC can be at NW 7.0, SP 15, & IS-UT is at 6.00 SP 13 and we can put EhP1 for CRM 7.0? or do we need to bring ECC at par?
In ECC we are at NW 7.0, SP 15, & IS-UT is at 6.00 SP 13
In CRM we are at NW 7.01 SP 05,

Hi Michael,
even if the guides are very detailed in the procedure itself they don't show a dependency between components. I was now browsing and reading to roughly 600 pages of SAP documentation, Wikis, Upgrade guides, EHPI guides etc. and I'm still not clear. According to the guides it is necessary to set up SolMan using Landscape Verification to get the system details right and then use MOPZ.
As always when it comes to dependencies it's very confusing from a technical perspective to make a clear statement.
As a German (speaking) company we would have to do several things:
- map the used "Business process" to SAP terminology
- translate that terminology from SAP-German to SAP-English
- use MOPZ to find out a dependency (or none)
And even then - for my understanding this is all way to complex and intransparent to just find out a "dependency". I will certainly not upgrade SolMan, install LV on Solman with some dozen notes to just find out, whether it may be necessary to upgrade to EHP5 or not. There has to be a different/documented way in finding that information, even if that means opening OSS calls and insisting someone to give a clear statement.
I don't consent setting up a tool and invest time (and hence money) to configure that tool to get information (note: we're not talking about the upgrade itself, just about preparation). The complexity and integration of the components is SAP made, not customer made, and therefore SAP has to give that information, not telling customers to mess with yet-another-complex tool (SolMan).
It shouldn't be too difficult to say that component SAP_CRM 702 needs an SAP_APPL 605 or not.
Just my EUR 0.02.

Errors during upload of BP for CRM V1.2007!

I have finished all the prerequisite steps for BP for CRM V1.2007 and get following error messages when upload:
