Marketing budget and campaign tracking
Hi All,
I created a marketing budget and then linked a coupon/offer to that budget.
How can I track the offer usage? There is a "utilized amount" field on the budget, how does it get populated?

The utilized column is populated by orders (when the offer code has been applied) booked through Oracle Order Management.

On assigning one of the Plannig Profile group from the available drop down either in Marketing Plan or Campaign you should be getting additional tabs like Cost tab, Key Fig tab etc. In cost tab you can allocate the budget for Advertise, Promotion etc. As Gaurav had rightly pointed out this requires BPS integration. For any other cost planning requirement apart from the given standard key figures you would require to define them as key figures in BPS and put them in planning profiles.
Following is the path where we can define Key Figures in spro
IMG-->CRM > Marketing> Marketing Planning and Campaign management --> Key Figures Planning
Hope this might help to start with Key Figure planning

for that u ve to check the check box in Mkt plan onwards
in ECC u can see in PS
Marketing plans and campaigns can be used stand alone in the CRM system. However, when CRM
is integrated with other SAP systems (BW, R/3, etc.) increased functionality is possible.
Planned values (e.g. planned costs, revenues, etc.) for marketing plans and campaigns can be written
to a BW infocube. These planned values can then be used in reporting to match actual values, for
example, actual revenues and costs.
When linked with R/3, actual costs related to campaigns and marketing plans can be captured by
using the financial and accounting functionality in R/3.
These actual costs can then be extracted to the same infocube in BW to allow for planned versus
actual costs for a campaign.

Mass change for existing Marketing Plan and campaign
HI CRM Experts,
Is there any way we can update all the Marketing Plan/Element/Campaign/Campaign Element with authorization group. At the moment we have all the Marketing Plan hierarchy uploaded in the system however authorization group got missed. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Hope your issue has already solved.
If not just a suggestion, write a small program fetching the projects from CGPL_PROJECT and loop it into table CRM_MKTPL_ATTR and update the field AUTH_GROUP with your auth group values.
Ofcourse definetely all the Projects will not have same auth groups, so put your what ever logic into the your reports based on additional attributes.
I am closing this thread since there is no update from past 6 months and hoping you issue was resolved.

Iam facing somewhat similar issue.
My requirement is that everytime i want to create a new number for the campaign element. We are using the BAdi CRM_MKTPL to generate the Marketing/Campaign Plan number. And using the Coding Mask to generate the campaign elements. But when we delete some campaign elements and create new ones, the system used the same Ids that are previously deleted. I want only new number to be generated, i do not want to use the deleted Ids.
How to solve this issue? Please suggest me some solution.

This is happening b'cos the Marketing Projects (Plans, campaigns and elements) which u r trying to upload are with same name (External ID) which u have deleted, try either (Rename)change the name of u r marketing Projects while uploding in system.
System error : The external ID is already used in the description of another marketing project. To avoid data inconsistencies in SAP BW, the external ID cannot be reused.

System Status Authorizations for Marketing Plans and Campaigns
Hi Experts,
We are using the Standard System Statuses on the Marketing Planner like the Created , Released, Approved, Finished, Locked and Rejected. My requirement is to limit the access to the Users for these Statuses. For Example :
User 1 will have access to Created.
User 2 will have access to Aproved.
User 3 will have access to Aproved,Released, Create
How do I set the Authorizations for the System status based on the User? I tried creating Authorization Keys under Status Profiles, but I am not clear on where to assign them.
Please guide me.

Thanks for your input. I am planning to go with your second option to go with assigning the Authorization objects at the Marketing Plan and also at the Campaign level . My only concern here is will we be able to assign status specific authorizations here ?
The Authorization objects given are for change, create etc. There are no status specific authorization objects mentioned. My requirement is the person who creates the MP should have access to release it and only the approver should be able to see the approved status and change the status o approved.
Do you suggest using Authorization keys and assigning them ?If so where do we define the restictions on the Authorization keys like
Authorization Group 1 has authorization to Create , modify a MP and can only View / Change the statuses to Create and Release.
Authorization Group 2 has access to Modify and has access to change the statuses to Aproved.
Is there any way this can be achieved ? Please let me know if I am going in the right direction.

Employee wise Budget and Expense Tracking in FM-BCS
Hi Experts,
We have Activated FM-BCS to one of our client for budget tracking. Our client needs Employee wise expenses tracking for better and effective control. There is a requirement of capturing the budget Amount and Actual Amount on the basis of Expenses wise, Department Wise and Employee wise. For Example: Client wants to maintain the budget Employee wise Department wise and Expenses. Like
Employee No (PERNR): 1234
Department (Cost Center): Marketing
Expenses (GL Code): Telephone Expenses
Grouping of Expenses: Operating Expenses
Tracking Method: How much one Employee 1234 has budget for Telephone expenses and how much he has spend over a particular period.
So we have mapped as follows in FM-BCS to address the above issue:
Cost Center = Fund Center
GL Code = Commitment Items
Group of Expenses = Fund
Through FMBB, we have given the budget values as follows:
Fund+Fund Centers+Commitment Items. And actuals also we could capture.
But we are not able to map the Employee numbers in FM. How to accommodate / map the employee nos to FM Account Assignments. Can we map employee numbers to Funded Programs (700 employees in number and Overhead GL codes are around 50)

To start with, choosing 'fund' for representing group of expenses, does not make much sense. Your expenses are already mapped by commitment items, being representative object for G/L. If you want to group those, you can use simple hierarchy of commitment items. 'Fund', when used properly, belongs more to budget domain, rather than to the expenses. For example, it could represent the source of the budget.
Secondly, having budget control on employee level sounds bit strange. Is your client going to budget 700 employees with different combinations of G/Ls? For what reason? And what happens if employee exceeds the budget? They won't pay him? All this does not make much sense. I understand, if you want to collect statistical data on the expenses made by employees. You can do it either via CO (internal order) or via self-developed reports based on PERNR.

A marketing plan is an instrument used in marketing to draw up and implement marketing
The marketing plan is used as an organizational tool for top-down budget and target planning. You can use marketing plan elements to structure a marketing plan in the form of a hierarchy. You can assign one or more campaigns to each marketing plan element.
Marketing plans can be broken down into further marketing plans, marketing plan elements or campaigns. However, you can only assign campaigns to a campaign. You cannot assign marketing plans to a campaign.
Also Marketing elements is a collective term for marketing plan elements, campaign elements and trade promotion elements.
Marketing plan elements are the building block of a marketing plan,as all marketing plan breaks up into marketing plan elements

A campaign is an instrument used in marketing planning and campaign management to plan the measures by which a marketing plan is to be executed
Campaigns are used for operative marketing planning and execution. Multiple campaign elements make up a campaign
when you have to use the campaign application what actually heppens is that campaign element which build up as campaign actually these elements are in reality which takes the input and complete the final structure of campaign.
for instance for campaign automation
You copy selected elements directly in the modeling area. You select the elements you want to copy, and then click the secondary mouse button and select Copy Selected Elements
what are these selected elements you have to cpy,these are the campaign elements ,so concept is straight the elements are the building block ,so that any change in final application be it marketing plan or campaign ,these elements are something which are manipulated with.

you might try this. Make sure you have not still scheduled any dependent objects of a marketing plan and campaigns (e.g. campaign elements belonging to the campaign, conditions). In customizing you are able to archive marketing projects. You are able to delete all marketing projects that are successfully stored in the archive from the the database.

You can create the structure of your Marketing plan & the Planning profile in CRM.The Budgeting & cost planning would be captured in BI.So the answer to your question is No, you cannot do it in CRM alone.

to achieve this, you need to implement the BPS in BW, and make the BPS and CRM integration.
In standard, CRM Marketing is integrated with BPS, you can login the CRM and open the BPS windows in Marketing object screen, fill your cost plan or trade plan or sale plan.
For WBS elment, you need to activate the configuration in PS mode and middleware between CRM and ERP.
If you don't need to use PS, maybe you can use Claim in CRM to manage the expense and cost in campaign. -
Questions regarding Email Marketing and Campaign Management

i am facing some problem is using Email marketing and campaign module of CRM On Demand. Need help in solving few queries.
1. I am trying to create the email template and save it for future purpose. I am using fields data column to make email personalize automatically. Problem i am facing is when ever i am opening this template for using it again for another campaign these dynamix fields doesn't come. ONlyu the static text xomes.
2. Second, how can i get the status of email delivered, read etc.
3. And in last, what ever email i am sending, how can i attach them with the receipient (Contact) record.

2 - email receipt status is automatic by Email marketing. You should see it in the Campaign Detail - section Recipients
3 - Campaign Detail - section Recipients > You can insert Contacts manually or via Data Import or via Segmentation Wizard.
