Q: I opted out of marketing email from Adobe. Why did I get an email about Elements membership?
A: The email you received was an operational notice regarding changes to Elements membership. Only users who may be affected by these changes received this email.

    Hi Steve,
I can personally ensure you get it if after waiting the 60 days you still haven't recieved it yet.
You would also want to ensure:
    - You have the annual (yearly) Creative Cloud plan
    - You log into the Creative Cloud website from within 3 of the Adobe Touch Apps from the tablet using your Adobe ID associated with your membership
If all this looks correct and you don't recieve an email after the 60 days, send me a private message and I'll ensure you get it.

  • How to get Thunderbolt Display recognized in Windows 8.1 through boot camp 2013 iMac

Ok so I have got the run-around quite a few times trying to figure this enigma out.  I recently upgraded to the Haswell 2013 iMac from my 2011 iMac.  I had been using my thunderbolt display with my "old" iMac and I was running Windows 8.1 through bootcamp.  My display worked wonderfully and I had no issues.  I just upgraded from windows 8 to windows 8.1, I had no idea that boot camp "does not support windows 8.1."
When I got my new machine I migrated my entire operating system from the old computer to the new (which was way way way harder than I had anticipated).  Now it seems that almost everything works besides the thunderbolt monitor, which is not even detected.  The monitor works when running OS X, but not when running Windows 8.1.
I just wondered if anyone had already had and fixed this issue, or if it is just a waiting game unitl the new boot camp support drivers for windows 8.1 come out.
Also if anyone could explain why it worked on my old machine and not my new one I would appreciate it, I have some ideas as to why but I would appreciate any input.
    Thank you!
    -Arthur

    FIXED!
Well I just went to the NVIDIA website, downloaded the latest driver for the graphics card, installed it, and now Both monitors work.
Seems like a no brainer, but just in case this issue is a problem for other users I hope that this was helpful.
P.S.  Windows 8.1 may not be supported by boot camp yet, but the boot camp driver package for windows 8 along with the graphics card driver I downloaded made my computer work better than I expected!

  • Boot Camp and Adobe Professional

My fiancee recently bought a Dell with Vista and had huge compatibility issues with Adobe Professional to the point where we had to return the computer. She now wants to buy a Mac, but we have about $700 sunk into Microsoft software (Adobe Professional and Microsoft Word Suite), so the Boot Camp software is attractive to her. I have two questions. First, can we load Adobe and Word onto the Boot Camp side once we receive the computer? Second, does XP or Vista come with the computer, or do we load that on there ourselves? We just want to make sure it's all compatible before we make the purchase.

You have to use an XP or Vista install disk.
Those apps should work, but I won't guarantee it.

  • I have a great marketing idea for Adobe

I would like to talk/email to someone in Adobe's Marketing department that could significantly improve their software sales. I have done a few searches on Google and the couple of names that I come up with are good (John Loiacono, senior vice president, Adobe Creative Solutions Business Unit and Acrobat Product Evangelist Ali Hanyaloglu) but there is no email addresses for me to correspond to.
    Thanks
    Mike J.

    Hey Mike,
I can't really help you there, but I wanted to say that I like your initiative. Like you, I am often struck by random ideas that might prove useful tp successful companies. However, I lack the initiative to share my thoughts.
For example, I'd love to tell Microsoft to abandon their  "I'm a PC" marketing campaign, and go back to the Bill Gates commercials (you know, like that one with Jerry Sienfeld which aired during the Superbowl). The whole 'I'm a PC' thing is a rebuttal to the Mac ads. That's exactly how they come across. By reacting to Apples attacks, MS is jut degrading themselves to the same level as their attacker. They really don't need to respond at all. Microsoft would be better off ignoring the attacks altogether.
I was about to start a thread about the lack of InDesign templates on Exchange when I came across your post. So, I wanted to commend your efforts. My best advise would be to get on the telephone. Start making calls. Eventually, your sure to get in contact with somebody who will take you seriously.

  • Market Demand for Adobe Certified Instructors

    Hi everyone,
Sorry if this message doesn't belong in this forum. For the
life of me I can't find one that is more appropriate for my topic.
I find the Adobe forums very difficult to use with a highly
inconsistent user experience. Disappointing. Anyway, on with my
    questions...
What is the market demand like for Adobe Certified
    Instructors?
Is it really worth going for ACI credentials? Is there a
great need for certified instructors out there?
If I put ACI on my resume will it really help me land
teaching gigs? (All things being equal, assuming I am actually a
good instructor, of course.) Or are the ACE exams little more than
a money making business for the testing centers?
I'm a Web user interface design professional with a B.A. and
10 years of experience in the field. I'm starting to do some career
growth and development in the area of technical training. I hope to
develop a nice side career as an instructor (either in classroom or
    online e-learning).
I'm hoping to determine where the market demand is and become
qualified to teach in those areas. Adobe software skills seems like
it would be a good area to teach, but I'd like to hear from people
actually out "in the field". Is there a great need for ACI's, or
are they a "dime a dozen"?
Are instructors for some software titles (i.e. Dreamweaver)
    more in demand than others?
    Thanks!
    - Ben

  • Live "and interested" Marketing Person at Adobe

I currently have the opportunity to make a proposal, as a member of the group, to present at an upcoming Small Business Conference. I have tried, thru a person in CS Marketing and for two weeks now, to be put in contact with someone at Adobe who could let me know what, if any, assistance they could offer.
The topic is Virtual Office including virtual office software, sharing docs, accessing date remotely, etc. I thought Acrobat products would be a great topic.
At the very least, even if there was no interest, I would have hoped for a courtesy reply. Any one know why Adobe would not take the time to follow up on this?

I'm not sure if 1,200 to 1,500 attendees would be considered small, but I never mentioned the conference size so that couln't have been it.
It is a small business conference, not a small conference.

  • ADOBE CC Marketing Subscription Trap: Offer USD 29.99 (Renew Subscription), Invoice USD 49.99

I had a few days ago a interesting marketing action with adobe. After a year of using Adobe CC I thought to cancel the my subscription, because normaly I dont use it so often. Like most members I paid with my annual fee conditions USD 29.99 / per month last year.
So I stopped my subscription and blocked a automatic renew function. As I checked my status and of the subscription persion on 27 May 2013 I received a screen infomration the there is a option to renew my subscription as a exisiting Adobe CC User for a other year. And that just for USD 29.99. Same conditions like last year. So I thought, nice move Adobe, why not. So I entered my accout details on the screen and I received a screen information that I'm qualitifed for the discount. Great so I confirmed the nothing else to do. I automatic renew function did the rest.
Suprise, yesterday I received the invoice notification for USD 49.99. Standard price. I contacted the Adobe Support, they had now clue about the situation or a discount offer through Adobe.
It's not about the money. It's a about the marketing trap. Has anyone else made the same experience or has the same problem?

    Hi Anreas,
I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. I see what I can do to help you get things straightened out.

  • Has Adobe/Sys cut off 20% of its most affluent market with Flash Ver10.3?

    System - PC - Vista - Internet Explorer 8
US Census Data -21.05 % of the population is 55. The median maximum income occurs at age 57.  The median maximum wealth occurs at age 65. The writer holds that Version 10.3 is not accessable nor is it safe to use for the majority of video viewers in this age bracket.
Credentials - 1957 CALTECH computer lab Burroughs 110 to 1995 - Member of Select Committee investigating software problems with the Space Station IT system.
    3 Examples:
Of the 34 unit owners (approx 50 people) only the writer and one other person have a clue about the difficulties being encountered and the security gotcha involved in upgrading to Version 10.3.
Adobe Installation Instructions.  "Installation may require admistrative access to your computer which is normally provided by your IT department." Around here that's me. I just quit.
10.3 requires operation outside the Protected Mode. That's a non starter. In order to avoid endless warning messages from Microsoft - MS Malware and Virus Protection has to be turned off. - Besides the vocabulary being out of range to the layman - defeating the PC security barrier to view a video which was viewed yesterday on Ver 9.X  is unacceptable from a personal set of security standards.
Give Greybeards a chance to spend their money on your advertisers - Give us Ver 9X (I already looked - It's gone) or a FP Basic. -Don't ask us to operate in an unsecured environment.
PS My personal resolution was that it is unworkable - It has been uninstalled (less than 9 seconds.)

Thanks for the reply.  It is heartwarming to find it is the nature of forums to try to help others.  Thanks again. I refreshed my memory of the archieves by again downloading the now minus one version of the FP. As you pointed out it may not work with many sites.  Correct . My judgement based on a limited number of trials on business websites, is that the Latest Ver. 10.3.X includes a block to any attempt to view the video with an earlier version.
I would like to reestablish for readers (hopefully including Adobe) the essence of the original question.  Here is the flaw I am witnessing with my neighbors in in Adobe's marketing strategy.:
Adobe inserts ads before videos and in other places in the "viewing experience" and is rewarded by consumer clicks to Adobe ad buyers.
Flashy, colorful ads display more content, appeal to many of the senses. and result in more clicks and therefore more income for Adobe,
The latest version incorporates IT technology to the point that it is exceeding the ability of older consumers to learn or keep up with system administrator level knowledge in order to install and/or safely (think Active X) use the Adobe ad deliivery system.  From personal knowledge of the many PC users in this affluent consumer condo community Adobe has cut them off from viewing all videos. In fact, it is at top of the TGIF Happy Hour on the Terrace chat list.  Computer problems including warning messages, system lock and slowing to a stop, rank right after the latest organ recital.
It will take time, but I predict that the actual number of consumer clicks on Adobe video ads may decrease, reduce income, and, hopefully begin a  rethink about Adobe's disconnect to the (wealthiest) 55-85 age generation
Meantime, I have the knowledge needed to block any traffic from the Adobe Server site unless I have a specific interest in connecting. Adobe Management - Are you listing? Recomend you review the last 100 titles on this Flash Player Forum
    Thanks again

  • Can't read Adobe Bridge on 4K monitor

    I recently bought a Philips Brilliance 288P 4K monitor (3840 x 2160) after I learned that Photoshop had added a readability workaround (Edit-Preferences-Experimental Features-Scale UI 200%).
This interim fix seems to work OK.
Alas, I was surprised to discover that there seems no equivalent setting in Adobe Bridge. This makes little sense, given that most PS users will be using Bridge.
Any danger that the Adobe's right hand might communicate with the left and get this anomaly addressed?
Hard to believe that Adobe was unaware of the likely impact of 4k displays and their obvious attraction for people involved in the graphics business.

    cloudless2014 wrote:
…I have been wondering if anyone from Adobe actually reads this forum with the intent of solving problems?
The answer to that is sometimes, but it's an exercise in futility.  The forum is not officially monitored by Adobe, and the engineers who graciously drop by as volunteers to help us out, on their own time and dime, are as frustrated as we are that they cannot dictate the direction the corporation takes when it comes to engineering, development and release of software, including bugs and fixes.  I have a hunch they might be even more frustrated than we are as users, if you can believe that.
Bridge used to be just Photoshop's File Browser, nothing more and nothing less.  In one of its iterations, the marketing execs at Adobe decided to rename it and make it applicable to other applications in the suite.  When they did that, they created a separate skeleton team to take care of Bridge. Over time, some additional team members have been hired, but it's an understatement to say that Adobe has not committed enough resources to Bridge as of this date.
Inconsistency between or among applications in the artificial "suites" should come as no surprise.
The "suite" concept is a fabrication of Adobe marketing and bean-counting types.  The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries and different continents.
The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.
Adobe has become a totally unresponsive, elephantine bureaucracy, with well in excess of 10,000 employees. Just read the Wikipedia entry on Adobe, which under Public Relations says:
"Adobe ranked no. 5 on a list of Internet’s 9 Most Hated Companies, based on a 2013 survey on Reddit.com.[76] Adobe's Reader and Flash were listed on The 10 most hated programs of all time on TechRadar.com.[77]"
Just be glad some Adobe staff does volunteer here from time to time to give technical advice.
Adobe formally has a page somewhere on this website to report bugs, but apparently usability issues don't qualify as bugs and thus get no attention.

  • PDF Comparing in Adobe Acrobat

Does Adobe Acrobat helps in comparing pdf files with image and text at same time. Not like other tools like Araxis Merge which have Text view and Image view and are not able to compare the file in one view.
Also, can it do a three way comparing and if possible merge.
and whether it can run from command line?
If any one can provide the answer. It's real urgent.
As far as I know it is able to compare pdfs, but I do not know the details.

    Thanx Dave,
If you can give some idea as of any feature in any adobe tool which can do the three way comparison and run from command line.
Also Dave, if you can suggest for any other tool in the market other than adobe which can do this all things as I mentioned above.

  • ADOBE's own 3D program Like Maya or 3D max, blender?

    Hey Hello frineds,
I am curious about one question which often comes in my mind, so I though why not put it on to the forum. its simple
WHY ADOBE IS NOT DEVELOPING / INTRODUCING A SOFTWARE LIKE 3D MAYA, 3D MAX, BLENDER, CINEMA 4D?
the question comes in my mind because I found the Adobe Photoshop 3D features very creative and productive, and even Adobe illustrator is also giving an artist a great freedom and in Illustrator CS5 the 3D area is more improved than ever.  It will be great if one can make 3D model out of that, and get it into the AE for futher compositing, as I was just watching some node based compositing video on youtube, I learnt that one can directly import a 3D model in that software, so it will be great if one can able to import a complete 3D model as a layer in After Effects for compositing and improving the animation of said imported 3D model according to the tracked footage,  because after effects allows to work in to real 3D space but as you all know we still need to export a 3D object or model in 2D format i.e. .tif, .tga etc. from any 3D app., then compose it with tracked footage and after that Color Correction to get good results.
WITH IMPROVED CS5 APPLICATIONS IT MAY LOOK EASIER FOR ADOBE TO INTRODUCE 3D SOFTWARE AS ADOBE PS, IL n AE HAVE 3D ENGINES...
It is kind of thought, if a person starts growing up in ADOBE environment (culture) from doing anything right from the scratch to all the way upto rendered output (including coding), then why let that person use another 3D application? In addition to this most of the 3D program are difficult to learn, you must need to invest 2-3 years but what if adobe bring a software which is having a combination of 3D features of PS, IL, AE.
And I'd like to mention another important thing, if one who is having command over photoshop (or A GOOD HAND), he may find other application like AE, IL, PrPro easy if he uses that much help and documentation and LOGIC, and I feel at least 5-10 out of 100 pros possessing such ability... It also happens if a you spent 2-3 years in ADOBE environment, with passion to learn new thing which help to get best creative output directly from your mind to PC.
And as far as commercial things are concerns, I feel Adobe will be at a TOP if they introduce such 3D software....  which may help to increase the popularity of PrPro and even market share of adobe in Film Industry.
(personally I'd love if Adobe develop such 3D program just like they developed 3D lens that could essentially capture a scene from 19 slightly different angles simultaneously)
I don't know why Adobe is not developing and introducing such 3D software, does anybody know?
Thank you for your valuable time for reading this thread
Any good answer is highly appreciated.....
sorry if there is any mistake in the above paras, you can correct me if you feel so....
Happy Designing, Crafting n Troubleshooting in ADOBE :-)

    ManndarrPat wrote:
yes this may be a confidential matter for ADOBE......or someday ADOBE will directly announce the good news of 3D app...
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that one, if you want my opinion.  Here's why:
Adobe's big guns in the realm of moving pictures are Premiere, AE and Flash, right?  Each of these applications were NOT originally developed by Adobe; they were bought from different software developers.  Three different philosophies of software design... three different approaches to coding.... three different varieties of data structures to shuttle things around within the application... and NO crystal ball so the original developers would know that in the future, these three applications have to play nicely together.
Oh, Adobe has some workarounds, and in truth, it's quite an accomplishment that they can work together at all!
Now you propose to add a fourth application to this set?  One that might perhaps incorporate Flash's vector-friendliness?  One whose project files can be opened in Premiere and AE?  One that lets you modify Photoshop and Illustrator files within it?
That's a whole bunch of integration to do, and a whole lot of recoding to do, and a whole lot of reorganizing to do.  Especially when there are existing -- and competing -- 3D applications that do a creditable job already.
If Adobe pulls such a thing off in the next two-three years, you'll be able to knock me over with a feather.

  • What types of skills does Adobe prmote?

    Hello all,
I am after a huge favour and would appreciate greatly if anyone can help me with this problem....
I am a trainee High school teacher and I am currently writing an essay on how ICT can motivate and aid learning skills; and I am currently talking about a section of my essay on Adobe products. What I'm after is perhaps links that touch on Adobe aiding students in these areas: understanding, analysis, problem-solving, collaborative, autonomy, and evaluation.
    Many thanks folks!
    Steven

Sorry, Steven.  I still find your approach lacks direction.  Your question remains overly broad and vague.
Photoshop is a professional level application for working professionals, not a learning development tool for students.  It makes no apologies for it's long and steep learning curve.  Certainly learning Photoshop can be a lifetime endeavor.
This is indeed the Photoshop forum, but that doesn't mean folks here are necessarily familiar with Flash and/or Dreamweaver.  I for one, never go anywhere remotely near the latter two applications.
As far as the "creative suites", be advised that they are but a figment of the imagination of the marketing folks at Adobe.  As has been often stated (mostly by me but also by others ), the individual point-applications  engineering teams are not only not in the same building but even in different cities, different states of the American Union and, in some cases, different countries and different continents.
They clearly do not work together very often nor very well, and they communicate as little as imaginable among themselves—as evidenced by suggestions made on the forums by Adobe engineers to "let the other teams know" that there are real problems that interfere with the other applications and with our work.
Certainly any student learning Photoshop will be faced with a gazillion problems he or she has to understand, analyze and solve.  But those are skills that are required to learn the application, not something to be magically acquired by tackling the application, although, as Noel says, those skills will certainly be honed in the process.
Having been married to a brilliant educator and school administrator for over four decades, I fully understand and admire your efforts in the area, though.
