Marking an app for download at a later time.

Is there a way to mark an app, in the app store, to be downloaded at a later time? Sometimes someone will tell me about an app, but I need WiFi to download it and one is not available at the moment. It would be nice to go into the app store and download a list of previously selected apps. Please advise. AA

In iTunes>App store on your computer, you can create a wish list & add apps to your wish list, but there is no such functionality in the app store on your phone. What you could do is use the "Tell a Friend" button, but send it to yourself.

  • TS1702 Once purchased, can I delete apps (for space), but then later re-download later at no charge, because I already paid?

Once an app is purchased and downloaded, can it be deleted because of a space issue, but then re-downloaded at a later time at no extra charge? In other words, once you purchase an app, can you delete and re-load at any time on your iPad without having to pay again?

    Yes.
One more thing to consider is that occasionally apps are removed from the App Store for whatever reason. You can connect your iPad to the computer you normally sync with and "Transfer Purchases" from your iPad to the computer. That way each app will be backed up on the computer should you want to retrieve it.

Can I cancel a Mac App Store download and resume later?

It is not recommended, once you start a download you should always let it complete the function. If you need to stop the download it may show the icon for the application even though you cancel it. It may or may not let you attempt to try to download the application a 2nd time.

  • Can anyone recommend an app for downloading bank statements (.csv/.qif) directly on to my iPad

Can anyone recommend an app for downloading bank statements (.csv/.qif) directly on to my iPad that will allow me to analyse my money flow....no account management needed. I just need something v simple that can take my statement and produce graphs etc....thanks

1, Photos are stored within your computer's iTunes, you just use iTunes as a means for trasnferring them to the iPad. Connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you want more control over the photos that you copy to the iPad (e.g. the ability to delete them directly on the iPad, re-order them etc) then you could consider a third-party photo-management app instead of the built-in Photos app e.g. Photo Manager Pro
2, options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents and Numbers for Excel spreadsheets.  And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
3, You first need an app on the iPad that supports the type of file that you want to copy to it - the iPad doesn't have a file system like a 'normal' computer, everything has to be associated with an app. As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

It's the video at the bottom of the page.
Also, there is the Free iTube Grabber which can capture almost any audio and/or video stream (it says here:)

The BB app is a converted Android app, and therefore has the same limitations as Android (and iPad) does. WMA is a Windows format.  It has not been my experience that "most library e-books are PDF". I am a librarian and I not only download books for myself, I assist patrons fairly regularly. Perhaps Calgary Public Library has a different collection?

  • There's an app for downloading all podcasts?

Like most of you, I have subscribed to many podcasts. I have a USB charger so in most cases, the only reason I connect my iPod Touch to my PC is to update the podcasts in the iPod Touch. This is really tedious. As you know, we can't (normally) synchronize an iPod Touch with more than 1 PC. So if I'm not at home I have no way to update all podcasts at once. I have to manually download each single episode.
Isn't there any application that can updates every podcasts at once through iPod Touch's wireless Internet connection, without connecting to a PC? No, I don't want an application that downloads podcasts but I have to use that application to listen to them. I want an application that updates the podcasts I have subscribed in the Music menu.
Apple says that's app for just everything.. I can't believe it if there isn't any application that this simple task, if Apple doesn't allow third party applications to access users' podcast information. I had a PSP, and it of course had a menu that let me update every podcasts at once. It even had a reservation feature that updates all podcasts at a designated time. I just set the time, and forgot about updating. It just powered on itself, downloaded all podcasts, then put itself into sleep mode. iPod Touch can't do this?

  • Are there any apps for Businesses that can sell time

We are looking for an app that can sell time.

Do you mean you just want a sketching/drawing/painting app for the iPad?  If so, there are tons of them.  Everything from simple free pen and pencil sketch apps, to paid apps with an overwhelming set of options.  There are technical drawing apps for structural type drawings, apps designed for comic-theme sketches, simple black and white sketch apps, apps to mimic watercolor painting, oil painting - you name it, in terms of sketching or painting, there is almost certainly an app for it.
You will need to do some searching in the app store - a few free ones I can recall of the top of my head are
    Doodle Buddy
    ColorBox HD
    Bamboo Paper
    Pen & Ink
Sketches (although that may only have been free for a short period, and no longer so).

Even though the downloads are for the same iOS version number, they are different downloads and you can't use an iPod iOS update to update an iPhone or iPad etc. The iPad 1 and iPad 2 are also different downloads. So you will need to download different updates for your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad 1 and the iPad 2.

  • HT1766 I purchased two apps for my iPhone and every time I try to install them on my phone I keep getting a message saying that the file is over 50MB and I need to connect to wi-fi or use iTunes on my computer to download. How do I do that?

I just got an iPhone 4 and have been downloading apps from the iTunes store when I encountered difficulty with two specific apps. Each time I try to download dictionary and star walk I get a message saying they are over 50MB and I need to be connected to iTunes to download, which I've tried to no avail. I also thought that when I sign into iTunes on my PC that it would automatically show that my iPhone device is connected (just like it does with my iPod) but it doesn't show the phone icon. I am not sure iTunes is recognizing my phone. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.

  • Sample Apps for Download

Because I don't have a permanent internet access for the online HTML DB, i downloaded the HTML DB-Sources and installed it at home.
Could I get the samples from otn or anywhere else? It's better for understanding the principles of HTML DB.
    Bye,
    Jens

we kind of had a request like yours in an earlier post on this forum...
    Share your app...
...but i wanted to make sure you knew about the Demonstration Applications that we package into html db. right after logging into html db, you'll see a "Tasks" region in the lower right hand corner of your screen. one of the links there should say "Review Demonstrations". clicking that link takes you to a list of demonstration applications that you can install into your workspace. each demo app has stuff that's worth examining. by running these demo apps and seeing how they're implemented, i bet you can get a pretty good feel for good ways to accomplish various application design goals using html db.
    hope this helps,
    raj
