Marking incoming mail as READ

How do I mark incoming mail as READ easily without going through each email and deleteing. This takes ome time.
It seems that the Mail application on iPhone is a hassle.

Not possible to select all or multiple messages at the present time.

    How can I mark incoming mail as unwanted? And consequently block the address of the sender?
    Thanks

    Sorry, but there is no junk mail filtering on the iPad, and no way to block a sender. Your ISP may provide such filtering capability as part of their email hosting service; most do, particularly those that have a web interface to your mail account.

    Apple Mail client no longer marks my mail as read on all my iOS devices. If I read a email on my iPhone and later open Mail on my iPad, the iPad still shows the email as unread.This changed recently, perhaps after iOS7 upgrade. Did I miss a setting? All mail account are IMA. iCloud is set to push, business mail is set to fetch every 15 minutes.

    Read thier own support document on the subject then
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1795
    This document was written as an answer to all those who complained about it as paying MobileMe users
    They ignored us then and when MobileMe became iCloud they ignored us again, and just carried on with a system that will not update the e-mail read status across all devices
    That's how it works,   and like you 1000's of loyal Apple users cant believe it either but there you go

  • How can i mark 100 mails as "read"? or better use imap? (.mac acc.)

    hi
    i use a .mac pop-mail account on my imac
    and with my iphone. nothing else.
    i realized that i get the mails on my mac and my iphone
    , meaning twice, same time. how can i prevent that?
    i am at home and my iphone is online, so i have to read
    every mail i get in my iphone double time, to get it marked as "read" yes?
    would it be better to set up an imap account in my iphone, if yes, how could that work?

    You can access a .Mac account as a POP or IMAP account with the email client on your computer, and with the iPhone's email client.
    A POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client on one computer or device.
    An IMAP account is designed to be accessed with an email client on multiple computers or devices keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized automatically between all email clients used to access the account.
    Read a received message with the iPhone, and the message will be marked as read automatically when checking the account with the email client on your computer, and vice-versa. The same for deleting messages, and the same for sent messages. Send a message with the iPhone, and the message will be available in the account's Sent mailbox automatically when checking the account with the email client on your computer, and vice-versa.

  • How do I mark all mail as read

    iPad mail shows hundreds of unread eamils but no messages have teh blue dot showing unread.  this happened when updated to IOS 7.  How do I reset to have no unread messages?

    Yeah, this is something that I used OFTEN on my Treo... Is there an official way to submit suggestions, or do developers see this stuff?

  • IOS 8.3 does not mark e-mails as read.

    Hi all,
    I couldn't find anything in the forums, but I wanted to see if others are seeing the same issue I am.
    After upgrading, when I open up an email and then go back to my list of emails, the blue dot (message read notification) does not disappear. The blue dot only disappears when I go to the list of all my email accounts.
    I have an iPhone 6+, 128GB, bought on the first day, and have restarted phone a few times.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!!
    -Kelvin

    I Am seeing the exact same thing, and it's incredibly annoying! Not sure how that can be missed in testing!?!

  • Incoming mail auto marked as already read.

    Just upgraded to IO6. My email Inbox appears to mark incoming mail as Already Read and so I don't receive notification alerts for new emails. Any ideas?

    This can be quite easily fixed if the iphone has a toggle to leave a copy of the email on the server. This will allow you to download the email from
    another program like Outlook etc and you wont need mapi. Outlook 2003 has this toggle option under advanced settings.
    The issue with this is the email on the server never gets "read" so occasionally you need to go directly onto your mail server and clear out the mail.
    Please join me in requesting this as an enhancement request.
    Rgds Steve.

  • IOS 4 And Marking All E-Mail as Read

    Hello,
    Does anyone know if the "Mark all E-mail as Read" feature is going to make its way into iOS 4 / iPhone 4? I keep trying to find a full list of features for iOS 4, but all I see is buttons that say "learn more" and point at the same page which says the mail client was updated to support new exchange server, threading, and MORE FEATURES, which I can't find explained anywhere.
    The only way I'll consider buying an iPhone is if I can mark all e-mail as read within 1-3 taps. Thus far, I can't find any indication that this is actually the case.
    Thanks.

    errr no...it is not a trivial issue, it is a real one.
    I get 100-150 emails today, including a lot of spam which is a never ending task to control. I like to be able to scan email subject lines, choose the mails I want to look at, and then mark all as read. The Blackberry has a feature to do this with 2 clicks.
    I have just got my first iphone, the iphone4, and am absolutely lost for words that there is no "mark all mail as read" function.
    Telling folks to move from POP3 to IMAP is complete tosh. I mention this, as this appears to be a stock answer on some other forums. Why should you have to change your mail accounts /set up forwarding etc., just because you have changed phones?
    Come on apple, less of the BS fluff apps. Give us proper control over our email please ! Unbelievable.

  • [Exchange-Online][EWS][C#][Windows]: How do I mark all mails in a folder as read?

    Hi,
    I'm developing a C# application in Visual Studio 2013 Pro Update 2 to query an Exchange Online mailbox folder and read mails into my CRM solution. I can connect without a problem, read mails without a problem, mark individual emails as read without a problem,
    etc. but I don't seem to be able to mark all emails in a specific folder as being un/read.
    I can see that in Exchange 2013 that the following code would do the trick, but it doesn't work for Exchange Online:-
    Folder folder = Folder.Bind(service,folderID);
    folder.MarkAllItemsAsRead(true);
    To mark an individual mail as being read I'm using this code:-
    public void MarkAsRead(ExchangeService exchangeService, ItemId itemID)
    Item mess = Item.Bind(exchangeService, itemID);
    EmailMessage message = mess as EmailMessage;
    message.IsRead = true;
    message.Update(ConflictResolutionMode.AlwaysOverwrite);
    Does anyone know if Exchange Online has a method to mark all mails as read and if so, how do I call it?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    I should probably say that when attempting to call the MarkAllItemsAsRead() method from my code I get the following error:-

  • I suggest, that it would be nice, if there is a "Mark read" button in notify (about an incoming mail).

    Hello!
    I've got a suggestion.
    When a new email comes there is a notify popup.
    There is just "x" button on it.
    So, the notification is active, until I open an email.
    But I do not need to open all emails I receive.
    So, it would be nice if there is a new button "Make read" in an popup, and in notification icon right button menu in future versions of Thunderbird.
    Best regards,
    Oleg

    There is a way. First, Firefox is only a browser. It sends and receives
    data and displays it on your screen.
    The problem is at Live Mail. Here is what to do;
    Open your mailbox. Now open your mail options. In the options you
    will find how to sort incoming mail.
    There is also a filter that when active, only sends mail from those
    you choose to go to the Inbox. All other mail is sent to the Junk folder.

  • In Mail:  how do I mark prior emails as read.

    Aside from opening them one at a time, how can I mark prior emails as "read" in one or two steps?
    Thanks!

    Select all (command A) in the mailbox.
    Mail>Messages>Mark > as read

  • Need help setting up a Mail filter to mark gmail Spam as read

    I’m using gmail with Mail and have set up a Smart Folder that catchs all my unread mail. What I’m trying to accomplish is to mark all Spam as read, so it doesn’t show up in this Smart Folder.
    I have a rule:
    Gmail seems to do a pretty good job catching Spam and labeling it in the header but my rule doesn’t seem to be reading the header. For example,
    Shows up in my Unread Smart folder. I’m guessing that even though I see the “Spam” designation, for some reason it really isn’t part of the message and thus isn’t caught by the filter.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    STeve

    Add words like "sample" "free" and other typical topics and words there are in junkmail to Message Containt rule.
    Your Message containt rule most likely doesn't work because the junk message doesn't contain word "Spam".
    Message containt rule checks if message has certain words, not what it is marked as.
    You can also check if there's option to rule messages received from certain e-mail addresses to be moved to junk mail.
