I am making a video with photos only. I will be using over 200 phtos. How can I mark the phtos ive used?

Remember, iMovie can directly access the Events in iPhoto. So why not use iPhoto to organize the movie images? Just create an Event in iPhoto for collecting the images that you will use in the movie, then open iMovie and pick up those iPhoto images. This will give you many advantages:
You can easily use any images you already have in iPhoto.
There is no need to import/export because iMovie can grab the photos right out of iPhoto.
If you end up not using an image in the movie you can remove it from the iPhoto Event you created to store the movie images.
If you create an Event in iPhoto for the movie images, iPhoto will contain an exact record of the images used in the movie.

Deleting project clips and photos after project is completed

I recently discovered that I have numerous clips and photos in iMovie from previous projects. Is there a simple way to remove these clip etc. from iMovie? Currently I am highlighting each clip and hitting the delete button. It is taking me ages to delete all these clips. If any one has a simpler method, please help.

you can delete the unused (unused in any Project) portions of any Event by "Move event to trash" and then you get a box that asks you to"Delete" or "Delete unused". Pick the later, if you are sure you never want them again. If you Delete the whole event your project that uses those clips (Movie) will never run again, the Project just tells the computer where to find the source clips music etc.
You can do this with every event and you may need to dump them from another area in iMovie, rejected clips maybe. And then you need to dump your trash, but once done you will free up huge amounts of HD space.

Video & Audio out of sync using iMovie and Photo Booth

I just bought a NEW iMac this month and I am trying to record a 5 min clip. during play back in iMovie and photo booth the video looks slow and its not synced with audio until the clip is at around 4:30.
I am using the internal mike and built in camera.
Its a new computer with plenty of space in it and no new programs.
I have looked through the threads on this sight but cant find my issue.
Please Help.

You have made a good start and already considered a couple of the most likely possibilities that could have caused your problem:
• CPU performance settings and
• multiple apps running
re: CPU performance setting: I am not certain, but your MBA may run even faster when it is connected to power that when running on battery, even with the processor performance setting configured for best performance. If you are not already running on AC power, do a test while plugged in and see if that helps.
re: multiple apps: Consider the possibility of background widgets or apps that might be running. If you have not already tested this way, restart your Mac to eliminate possible widgets, quit all startup items, verify that Spotlight is not your indexing disk, and verify that no Time Machine backups are running. Then test video recording again.
If you do not get your problem corrected otherwise, consider the relevant suggestions in this list of possibilites regarding A/V recording sync issues:

Some of them may not be relevant to your MBA, but you may find something helpful there.

How do I transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC using iCloud and Photo Stream?

I am quite confused with how iCloud and Photo Stream work to transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC. I recently ran out of my space on iPhone so I need to delete all of my pictures and videos but I first want to confirm that they have all been transferred over to my PC. I have iCloud setup but here lately I have been getting the warning message that iCloud could not perform it's backup because I was out of space on iCloud. I had not worried about it since I figured that all of my pictures and videos were on my iPhone anyway and the only reason I would need them on iCloud would be for a backup. Anyway, how can I confirm that everything has been transferred over to my PC? Then, what is the quickest way to delete all of my exisiting photos and videos off of my iPhone? I found the Photo Stream folder on my PC... Is everything automatically added to this when I connect my iPhone to my PC? If I delete something off of my iPhone is it deleted from the Photo Stream folder on my PC? Please help and thank you! I just don't want to lose any of my stuff!

You don't move them to iTunes or an iTunes account.
You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

anyone know if there's a button to reveal used clips in the timeline so they show up as used in the browser? Cannot find a function.

Did you try the searching dialog box? (Command-F)
Select your option for searching "used" media.
See user's manual (help menu) at page 228 and ss .
Once you got the results simply create a new folder in browser and transfer "used" file to it.

Kuler and Photo or Video

How do I apply the color scheme I choose or develop to a photo (in Photoshop CS5) or a Video (Premiere Pro CS5)?

The way in which you work with Kuler themes in Photoshop is by adding the colors from the theme as swatches. The method for adding the swatch varies, depending on if you're using the Kuler desktop (AIR) application, the website, or the Kuler panel within Photoshop itself.
Regardless of the method used for getting the colors from Kuler to Photoshop, they show up as swatches in the Swatches panel in Photoshop.
What I'd recommend doing is asking those on the Photoshop forum how to take a few color swatches and use them to apply as a "theme" or "color scheme" of some sort to an existing image. I'm certain there's a technique for doing so, but I'm not too familiar with Photoshop to tell you exactly how to accomplish this. (I think one method involves using Indexed Color Mode, but again I'm not sure how that works exactly.)
There might even be some tutorials out there to accomplish the same thing, so perhaps check on http://tv.adobe.com or search the web for such tutorials.

Marking Used Clips in Events

I've tried to find this info, but I couldn't.
When I select portions of clips in Events and use them in the Timeline, they're not marked with the color line I see in some demos.
How do I make this function active? I'd like to visually see what's I've used.

I think that is a feature of iMovie but not of FCP X.

Important News For Those Who Use Hulu And Other Flash Video Websites.

Adobe will release the next update to the Adobe Flash software in the next few weeks and that update will bring better GPU video decoding acceleration for Windows if you have recent graphics hardware from ATI, Nvidia, or Intel. This update is VERY important for those who use laptops which have less powerful processors and hardware than desktops usually do. In order to take advantage of this update when it comes out, you MUST have the latest graphics cards drivers for your hardware. ATI, Nvidia, and Intel will all be releasing new drivers specifically for the updated Flash software so keep an eye on the respective websites for your graphics hardware maker. Of those companies, only Intel and Nvidia have drivers available for testing at the moment, but ATI is not far behind.

You may be able to disable Flash entirely and just use HTML 5 video codecs to view the videos this is faster but you may lose access to some videos such as ones that have mandatory advertisements.

Restrictions on using iBooks and Author as video delivery platform?

In addition to the 2G maximum filesize for an iBook, what are the legal or technical restrictions on the length of video(s) included in an iBook?

Legal would mean being able to show right-to-use should Apple ask during the process getting into the store. Read your paid agreement for details.
Technical would mean testing on your end on all devices you expect to support.

I am using Beta8 and photos are not loading correctly on Facebook, Meetup and my website on Weebly. .

When you click on photos in Facebook albums- they are black. I can reload a page and they appear. Same for Member -photos on my Meetup hiking page. Also- Weebly website service: some of the photos in my portfolio are black. You can click on them and they will load ok.
Besides this- A-Ok.

This is what i Found. There are dead spots all over the iPad Screen. If your buttons are in certain spots at certain times they will not work. if you center them and space them handsomely next to each other you will see that they work perfectly. it only took me 8 hours to figure this out. I am surprised nobody else caught this.

Opening photo in camera raw using cs5 and photo has lots of red and blue in the image?

I am trying to open a photo in camera raw and the image always has a lot of red and blue in the picture? What can I do to avoid this. When I first started learning photoshop this did not happen?

Perhaps it would be helpful if you'd post a screen grab showing the problem. I honestly can't tell from what you're writing whether you're seeing a bug or maybe you've saved some oddball Camera Raw Defaults.
Considering it could be the latter, have you considered setting the image development settings for that image to defaults, or even Resetting the Camera Raw Defaults (which will affect all images in the future)?

How to Sort or Import video and photos together in iMovie?

This is a common request and I haven't seen a good answer. I'm trying to import a collection of video clips and photos from a trip together to make a timeline based video/photo slideshow (just adding music and some text for fun). All the media files (from a few cameras and smartphones) are properly timestamped. The files are even named such that in the folder on disk they can be sequentially sorted (YYYYMMDDhhmmss.mov or YYYYMMDDhhmmss.jpg). In most Windows based movie making applications simply importing all the files together (video and photos in one big drag and drop) puts them in order into the slideshow for tweaking/editing and adding music. But iMovie (which is what I want to use on my MAC with its great tools) doesn't let you import all the media together or easily sort all the content by source file name or timestamp (or anything as far as I can tell) once you drag all the video and photos into the project (separately since video importing and photo adding are done separately).
With 200+ photos and video clips it is too time consuming to manually arrange them in time order (interlacing the video clips into the photos in the proper time).
What can be done? I've seen this question since around 2009 and assumed that iMovie 11 would have a simple way to just sort the project timeline. Any help?

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running?
There are several ways to avoid disturbing an existing Timeline when you are adding to it.
1. Using what are called keyboard modifiers, such as Ctrl or Alt (Windows).
2. Grouping block of clips so that the clips move together

It uses a version of Premiere Elements earlier than 13, but the principles involved are the same.
The video and audio that are going out of sync.... are they linked or grouped before the addition to the existing Timeline?
After the fact, you will need to move the Timeline components back in place.
If the video and audio are not linked or group, you can
(a) highlight the clip, hold down the Alt key of the computer main
keyboard and tap the appropriate arrow key for a 1 frame per tap nudge of the clip.
(b) highlight the clip, hold down the Shift+Alt key of the computer main
keyboard and tap the appropriate arrow key for a 5 frames per tap nudge of the clip.

A first step: Editing video clips before using them in a longer video?

I am an absolute beginner. I have purchased Premiere Elements 7 and I bought the Premiere Bible and am reading that.
My question is, Premiere seems to be software designed primarily to help you make a video production by joining together video clips, sound clips, and photos. Is there a step before this, though, namely editing the clips as they come out of your camera?
I've been using PhotoShop for years, and typically when I take a still photo I open it in PhotoShop and adjust saturation, brightness, sharpness, maybe white balance, rotate if needed, etc.
Is there another piece of software designed to help do this kind of basic editing to a single video clip? For example, if the clip came out too dark, is there a way to brighten things up?
I'd really appreciate any answers, and if there is a book or article you could suggest about editing video clips I would appreciate the recommendation!

First, welcome to the forum.
Next, and this does depend on your camera, you Capture your video from the camera, using a Preset for your Project, that matches the material from your camera.
Now comes the "RAW conversion," though I am using that term VERY loosely. Many people will do basically a pre-edit, by Dbl-clicking the Captured Video in the Project Panel. This opens it in the Source Monitor, where one sets the In and Out Points, basically doing a loose edit of the scenes. The Clip in the Source Monitor can then be dragged to the Timeline. Each is done this way, until they all appear, in the order that you want, on the Timeline. Note: you can drag from the Project Panel, and do this in the Timeline too. Also note: when you play the Timeline, you are now looking at the Program Monitor.
At this stage, one touches up the edits, and adds any desired Effects.
Usually last is any Audio work, like adjusting the Clip's Audio, or adding Narration, and/or Soundtrack.
Export/Share is the final step and one can choose their delivery format.
The exact workflow is a bit different than processing an image in PS, but not totally alien.

Insert videos and photos into my movie

Everytime I try to insert a video or photo into the movie I am creating it splits the photo that I am trying to place it next to or makes each clip shorter, I want to be able to insert the clips and photos and make everything else that is already there just push forward or back without loosing any of the clip length or splitting the clips that are already in the my movie?

You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with an y digital camera.

I have an iPhone 4S and am trying to figure out how to download a video clip I took with the phone to my macbook so I can use it for another document. At this time I don't even see the video clips, and photos, on the iphone when I have it connected and looking at it via iTunes. This question may have been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find the discussions, so, help please. I suspect I'm overlooking something simple, Apple tends to not make things overly complicated (something this aging engineer appreciates, at work I get paid to use Windows...) so I may be overlooking something that is in front of me. If it matters, I have the current 5.0.1 ops S/W installed on the iPhone and MacOS 10.7.3 (Lion) on my macbook.
