my imac is coming up for 12 months old, and has a series of grey shadows on the back of the glass - what can i do?

take it in for evaluation before the 12 months is up and the waranty expires.

Sounds like it. Try booting from your OSX restore DVDs - startup and hold down "C". This will take AGES! Then run Disk Utility from the menu.
The flashing ? means your system is corrupt, dead, not there, on a dying HD, etc...

Strange marks on Curve 8900 screen

Hi folks,
I hope someone can help me out. I have a new blackberry 8900 javelin (have like 4 months of use) and some strange marks appeared on the screen. They are small marks, but they don't disappear. I had the same problem with my last curve 8900 (I had 3 8900 models) but last time, the marks disappeared in a few days. Those on mine are not disappearing. I know it's not a liquid crystal leak, it's a malfunction or something, because the mark had a different shape in a few days ago. Here are some pictures i took to show the problem.

Those marks are definitely hardware/lcd screen related. I would suggest contacting your network service provider or point of sale for repair options as this is not software related.

How to clean the dust inside the screen of the iPod Touch?

Hi everybody,
lately some dust entered inside the screen of my iPod Touch.
At first it looked like one or two pixels were gone bad, but it is just some annoying dust.
The problem is that I cannot figure out any way to remove it.
I tried a gentle blow from the connector hole but the result was worse.
Any idea on how to clean the screen inside?
I hope it is not necessary to go to an Apple Center and pay for the "cleaning service".

It sounds safe to use
'Falcon's® "Professional" Dust-Off® "XL" compressed-gas is the perfect product for removing dust from your color transparencies before making scans or copy slides; it's also great for removing dust from cameras, lenses, computers and other electronic equipment. Each 12 oz. disposable can comes with its own trigger value and a 4.75" nozzle extension (a red tube) that allows you to place precise bursts of compressed air just where you want it.'
Check the directions on the back... also check the contents. Normally anything like that will inform you of contaminants harmful to delicate electrical devices.
If its just compressed air make sure you keep the can well back from the source.. and unplug the G5 (take it somewhere you don't mind dust.. there no point doing this in situe, just for it to suck it back in again!)
Also.. as mentioned.. keep the can upright (as the air is decompressed the can gets very cold)

Thank you. I did contact Apple Norway and they already raised a case no based on which I shall go and hand over my mac pro retina 13inch. As per Apple Norway, as the case has been registered before the expiry of the warranty, Apple India to accept the warranty as well and get the set repaired under warranty. Thank you.

Dust Particles inside the Screen of my iPhone!! Help?

At first I wasn't bothered much but then the amount increased, and well now, when in sunlight, it is starting to get annoying! Any suggestions on how to free my iPhone of dust particles? Anyone????

I have gone to BOTH Apple and AT&T and they have said that they cannot do anything about it, AT&T said that they didn't know, and said to take it to Apple, and Apple said, "you can try compressed air to see if you can get it out".

If another person or company serviced your iPad, your warranty has been voided. Apple will do an out-of-warranty exchange. Have you contacted the original service provider, and complained?

Dust Inside Touch Screen...

i have purchased X6 3 months back and dust started entering from front camera side inside touch screen............
As i saw this to Nokia Care they said this set is the first set they have founf dust is entering...............they siad not open set for dust cleaning........................
My half of the screen is filled with dust.................what do i do.............

You have to take your phone to a Nokia Care point. They will be able to remove the dust off your screen.

Assuming that you tried to install Win 7 in bootcamp.
Power on the machine and press and hold the "option" key when you hear the bong sound.
Select the Macintosh HD icon and press "return" or just click on the icon.
Once booted into OS X go to System Preferences and select the Startup Disk icon and configure startup to use the Macintosh HD.

Ok so I've done what you said and this is what it's come back ....
I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;
It says ;
Com.apple.launchd 1 0x100600e70.anonymous.unmount 301 PID still valid
Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
Continuing...
And stops ...

URGENT: Liquid Mark Damage on the Screen. Pls help!

I have taken a new BlackBerry Curve 8520 a month ago. Today when I was rushing to office, I have noticed that, there is a dark liquid mark on the middle of the screen. I have throught that it might be because of the screen gaurd and I removed that screen guard. Unfortunately, I can see that mark still on the screen. When I touch the screen, it is moving like a water bubble on a plastic surface.
I would really appreciate if someone can suggest me about what might be the reason and the chances to rectify it.

Thanks alot for the response to my post.
I am sure that its not because of the moisture. In the case of the second, is there any possibility that, screen gets damaged if there is an external pressure? As I have the habit of carrying it in my bag which infact is creating a stress on the screen.
Please suggest me if this can be a cause and if yes, what can be the possibility for me get it rectified.
