Marquee tool width not equal clipboard image width

I'm really stuck with this issue and would like your help.
I select an area with the marquee tool, lets say 122 height x 55 width. Then I either edit / copy or Ctrl + C.
When I copy the area into a new file, the photoshop suggested file size is always 122 h x 51 w. Even if I make the new file size 122 height x 55 width, the copied area is only 51 px wide.
This only occurs sometimes and I can't figure out why... Any help greatly appreciated.

thanks for the reply. I only have one visible layer.
Here the screenshots. The width in the Marquee selection area is 39px. Yet photoshop wants to create a new image with width 23px...?

Cloudy theme 24 Template region width not responding to style width change

I have a question regarding templates and themes.
Firstly I was using theme 20 traditional blue and all was ok.
Page template “2 level tabs with left sidebar”.
I had a page with a tree in the left side bar region.
Within the region definition in the attributes section against region attributes
I included the following style="width=300px;" which increased the width of my tree so none of the text was cut off.
All working fine!
Then I was asked to move to the “cloudy” theme 24 which scrambled my tabs and layout but with a bit of work I sorted this out all but the tree region.
The problem is the tree region always renders at a certain width even with the style code as before in the region attribute specifying a width nothing happen.
Any ideas on what is happening here?

I have tried using 150px 250px 350px and the width increases and then stops
the view source shows me the following when I use 100% the ffffff id is mine input via the screen for testing
<section class= uRegion clearfix id= ffffff style=width:100%;> (quotes removed so it display correctly).
I have checked both templates for the page in each theme and I cannot find any references to #REGION_ATTRIBUTES# #REGION_STATIC_ID# in the templates.
the view source of the pages is quite different in each theme

Falsh effects not working if image width greater than 2782 px

I am trying to apply a filter (blur or desaturare) to a
movieclip, but i noticed that it does not work if the image inside
the movieclip is larger than 2782 px (width). Can anyone explain me
why? How can I solve this?

That's flash functionality and limits set by Macromedia/Adobe
to
to prevent memory problems. The filter is turned off if the
image exceeds
the limit of 2880 pixels.
But, not too worry, the limit is removed or increased in the
upcoming
Flash CS4 and Player 10.

Eraser tool will not work on image

hi,
I am completely new to this. I want to remove some areas of the image with the eraser tool. I don't know whats missing but when I select the eraser tool and hover the mouse pointer over art board, the pointer just changes to a pencil with a can't do icon over it.
This is what I have done up to this point. I "placed" an png image into Illustrator did a
-> live trace
-> live paint
-> selected the graphic and changed the outline colour
-> changed the fill colour to nothing
I have tried to export the image as a jpg and reimport it again, although the app allows me to erase parts I don't want, the transparency is lost. Does anyone know why this is happening and point me to the right direction.

The eraser won't work on JPEGs at all.
After Live painting expand the art and then you should be able to erase.

Photoshop Elements 10 - Marquee Tool not showing eliptical option

The Marquee Tool does not show the elliptical option. I am running on Windows 7. I do not know if the elliptical option was ever there since I am very much a novice and just learning now.

Marquee Tool in PSE 4

Hi all
Have been experimenting with digital framing and have managed to successfully produced a Gallery style frame.
However, the one area I can't seem to get right is when using the Retangular Marquee tool to select outside the image on the canvas is to get the width and height exactly spaced (say 1/2" all around).
Just have been using my eye to judge if it looks OK.
Is there a way to get exact measurements?

Another way, which recreates the canvas to your exact size.
First delete the existing canvas. An easy way to do this is to use the Magic Wand tool with the Contiguous box checked. Click anywhere in the canvas area to select it. Invert the selection so that the picture is now selected and then crop it.
Now create the new canvas: Image>Resize>Canvas Size. Enter the width and height in inches or any other absolute value. Don't use percent unless the picture is perfectly square.

Clone Stamp Tool does not work

This is a re-post of an old problem. Using PS CS4 Extended v. 11.0.2 in Win XP SP3.
The clone stamp tool does not alter my image. After selecting source region, cursor hovers over the target region and the preview looks like what one would expect. After clicking, however, the desired change does not occur.
Uninstalled PS and reinstalled. Clone stamp worked for a while, then quit working again.
Image seems to be OK, in that I can open it on my Laptop with CS3 on Win Vista, do my cloning, save and all works fine.
Any ideas appreciated. I may uninstall and reinstall again, but if I do, would like some ideas of what I should monitor as I go through my work process.

Glad it fixed it.
When the preferences get corrupted it is not due to a wrong setting. One of the files has been damagrd. This is a known problem with computers not just Photoshop.
It can be caused by incorrect shut-downs, hard drive faults, or a dozen other reasons. Deleting the preferences just lets Photoshop generate a fresh set at factory default.
Make sure you check through to get your personal settings back and then save a copy.

Not able to get image width after uploading image

I am working on uploading image. Once the image is uploaded I need to know image width and height. Right now I am listening to "complete" event but it seems image is still not loaded when the complete event is raised as it returns image width as zero. This is very urgent and imp for me, Please let me know how can I get the wridth and height of image once it is uploaded on remote server

Exactly, that feature was so valuable for me in previous versions. I am not sure why someone who sells something would eliminate a feature that customers use. What person made that call? They are probably working at Microsoft now making those "great products" (though I do like Excel, but only because they haven't changed it, esentially, for years...of course, how much can you really change a calculator?).

Content in the page not displaying in full width

Hello everyone,
We have a EP 2004s SR1 Portal with customized framework page and display theme.
When logged on to the protal, the first page(say home page) was displaying by leaving some width at right of that page (approximately the width is equal to scroll bar width). For remaining pages this is not the case...it is displaying properly i.e displaying with full width covered.
and one more thing is, this is happending in Production and QA machines...For Development machine it is working fine.
Could any one help me in this...

Adjust image width and position along with browser size automatically.

Hi, I'm trying to place an image at the left edge of browser window, and the image width is 50% of the browser window size. The similar effect can be found on this website. Lenzing Instruments
Notice that as the browser zoom out, the image remains half of the width of browser window and align with the right edge of the browser.
I'm new to Muse. Not sure if it is possible to achieve this effect in Muse. I know Muse can set image 100% width of browser window, but how about 50%, 75% and other user defined proportion?

Exact responsiveness cannot be achieved but yes with scroll and pin you can create a similar effect
I also followed this post Can you create responsive sites with Adobe Muse? It seems that Muse does not support responsive design very well. So I'm not sure how exactly to get an similar responsive design effect in Muse.

Controlling image width in XML brought into TextField via RSS

Hello. First off, let me say that I am new to these forums,
and new to AS 3.0
Here's my question.
I'm building an RSS Reader. Everything is working great,
except I can't figure out how to control the size of images
embedded in the XML of the blog posts.
I attempted to set up a textField with an attached css
stylesheet to limit image widths, but I couldn't get that to
function. Should I try saving the remote XML to my server via PHP,
and then adding my desired maximum width to every <img> tag?
That seems like a lot of work for a simple task.
Ideally, I'm dreaming of a textField or TextArea or
ScrollPane property that would force contents to obey the
container's width. Can you tell I usually write css?

Assuming that html is valid xml, and it apparently is if you
are working with it successfully, you would access that value like
this:
description.img.(@src)
A labelFunction would make it easy to display that string.
I haven't worked much with in-line renderers so ai am not
sure you you would do it in there.

Overriding image width with updateExportSettings

Writing my first lightroom plugin, I have created a minimal example which should set the photo width here and included below. However I can not get the image to be the 400 x 400 specified.

Adobe Lightroom can load the plugin, and add it to the export session, but the updateExportSettings do not seem to take effect. Tested in Lightroom 5.3.

On closer reading the SDK Guide on page 51 does mention:
If the service has defined an updateExportSettings() function, it is called.
and at the end of that secion:
The filters, if any, are not involved at this stage.
Was not aware of the difference of an ExportService plugin and an ExportFilter plugin at the time of reading.
