Mars and Digital Editions

Is there an intention to make it possible for Digital
Editions to open Mars files?

Like other Adobe products, we'd like to see Digital Editions
able to support Mars format files just like it supports PDF today.
Incidentally, Digital Editions uses the same base packaging
technology that Mars uses. But keep in mind that we are just
beginning the public review pre-release phase for Mars, so it won't
appear right away.

  • Adobe ID and Digital Edition 2.0

My downloaded ebook from Human Kinetics won't open. It asks for an Adobe ID but does not recognize mine. I reset my password and got a confirmation email but Adobe digital Edition 2.0 keeps saying that it's an invalid password. I know the password is correct because it's the same one I just used to log on here.

Need to ask in the Digital Editions forum. They'll know better than we will.

  • I get an error message when I attempt to download an epub from the library.  I have Windowns 8.1 and Digital Editions 3.0

    the error message is:
    Unable to download
error getting license, license server communication problem
    E_auth_bad_device_key_or_PKCS12

I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.
    Thank you.

  • Can't open book from library on computer or nook in digital editions.  message-"the vendor you entered is not asso. with the item you are trying to open.  try again."  I have de-authorized and reauthorized and still not working.

I had to do a reinstall of windows 7 recently and now have had to download library access and digital editions.  Can't get books to transfer correctly to Nook and can't even open them on the computer in Digital Editions.  Keep getting messages that not authorized to open protected book and/or the above message.  Have followed instructions to deauthorize  and reauthorize.  Also get message when I try to open book.  "This document is licensed for a different user account."

This is the Adobe Reader forum; please ask in the Digital Editions forum.

  • I have a nook and have been using it regularly to borrow library books along with digital editions.  Normally as soon as I plug my nook in the icon pops up on the desk top.  Now it doesn't and it isn't showing up in the digital editions.

I have a nook and have been using it for almost 8 months to borrow books from the library.  Normally, as soon as I plug in my nook, the nook icon pops up on the desktop and digital editions recognizes the nook.  All of sudden the nook icon is missing and If I try to unplug from the computer, it says it was not disconnect properly.  Any ideas?  Is something hidden or what?

I'm just trying to print my online pay stub
Since my printer isn't working, I'd like to save document to my desktop ("save as" is the only option given to me) and send it as an attachment to a friend's computer and working printer.
    What browser are you using?
Are you trying to print or to save the doc? Whether you have a working printer or not is really immaterial. If you're trying to print, then File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF…. If the resulting PDF is small enough (<5MB, though my preference is <1MB), e-mail it to your pal. If it's too big, transfer it using a chat programme or a file service (MediaFire, RapidShare, etc).
Now, I am currently trying to send the document directly (via email, an option given under "file") the pay stub from my employer (who uses ADP online payroll services), to that computer and working printer ....and I'm receiving a window (with apple mail logo on it) that begins with  "To view this page, you must log in to this area on agateway.adp.com:443:"  and asks for "name" and "password".  I've put in both ADP's information, and what I believe (could be very wrong) to be apple mail's information, and either/neither/nothing seems to work!
I don't understand any of this. You need to explain better—or perhaps just post a screen shot (blank any private or confidential info on it prior to posting).

  • Can't install Digital Editions

Downloaded Digital Editions 2.0 and clicked Run, I agreed to EULA, accecpted the default install option, it appeared to install OK and Digital Editions started but did not ask me to activate.  I clicked on Help and a message appeared "Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  I have tried uninstalling and re downloading with the same problem.  Computer is an AMD 2800+, Win XP Home SP3.  Any Suggestions?

    Hi
Here is the link I was given:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403051/attachments/setup.exe
I have now tested it by downloading one of the books from adobe's sample ebook library.  It opened in ADE fine but I haven't tried transfering to my ereader yet.
    Good luck

  • Sorry, the file you are attempting to open cannot be opened by Digital Editions.

I PURCHASED SEVERAL BOOKS FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE AND FOLLOWED THE
INSTRUCTIONS TO DOWNLOAD THEM SO I COULD READ THEM ON MY NOOK COLOR BUT THE
RESULTING FILES SEEM NOT TO BE RECOGNIZED BY ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS VER.
1.7.2 AND EACH ATTEMPT RESULTS IN THE MESSAGE: Sorry, the file you are
attempting to open cannot be opened by Digital Editions.
THE FILE NAMES FOR THE BOOKS ARE ATTACHED. I FOUND IT STRANGE THAT ALTHOUGH
"private 1 suspect-epub.acsm"  does not cause this error but the others do.
I purchased "private 1 suspect-epub.acsm" from Google Market (now PLAYSTORE)
a few weeks earlier. What could be the cause of the problem?
    Any suggestions?

Ben, I'm not sure what is going on here.  So let me write something about
the process generally, and maybe it will help you to determine why this is
    happening.
Generically: the download process usually begins with the source.  That
source would interact with you and then provide an .ascm pointer
file.  After the pointer file is generated, the source should start Digital
Editions on your computer, and Digital Editions will read the pointer file,
find the ebook and download it - all automagically.
Part of the download process can include choosing the format for the
ebook.  Digital Editions is limited to certain formats.  They include
.epub, .txt and .pdf file types. The most common format is .epub.  So, when
you interacted with Google books, you probably got the chance to choose the
type of file you wanted.  If you chose a format OTHER than .epub, .txt or
.pdf, Digital Editions can't do anything with it, and thus the message.

  • Cant log in with my google id on digital editions

i have a adobe id but to read books downloaded from play store on another devise, i need to log in with my google id and digital editions does not recognise this, any help please....

If it is asking you for a different ID, then you have run into Activation Lock.
You need the AppleID and passcode used to originally activate the iPhone.
Contact the previous owner for assistance or return the iPhone for a refund.
The iPhone is useless without the AppleID and passcode that was used to
activate it. There is no workaround for Activation Lock.
If this is not what you are asking about, please provide more specifics so someone
    can offer a solution.

  • Digital Editions crashing on startup on a mac.

Macintosh core Duo, OS 10.4.10, Digital Editions verson 1.0.464
Adobe Digital Editions crashes on startup (at the Initializing stage). I have to Force Quit, then restart the program and it does open up.
DE is way too slow for me. I've preserved Adobe Reader 7 on my machine. Why can't I open up any of my ebooks with it like I used to? Everything opens fine in Digital Editions, but won't open in the older software. Must I purge my computer of Adobe Reader 8 and Digital Editions to get back my previous functionality.

Yes. To re-state: Starting up from a shut-down computer, I would attempt to start Digital Editions, the window would open, then hang at "Initializing" forever. Spinning beach ball. When I would open the Force Quit window, the Digital Editions title would appear in Red, indicating the program is "not responding". After a Force Quit, I would open Digital Editions again. It then started perfectly. Closing the program and restarting it would also work well.
Over the last couple of hours I deleted my entire library folder called "Digital Editions" and re-downloaded all 20+ ebooks from the provider. Now, Digital Editions starts up after a computer restart correctly. Everything appears to be functioning well. So I gather there was some corruption of my library that caused the program to hang.
My dissatisfaction with the "slowness" is in regard to the scrolling speed on a single page when it is fit to width, the limitation to have to drag the scroll bar to scroll down, and the inability to zoom quickly with a zoom button or a "87%", "230%" etc. toolbar section.
Reader was just much faster for me to use. I like to zoom in and out quickly, and scroll very quickly through a book to find what I need.
Thanks for your quick reply above. This is good sign.

  • The book i downloaded shows up blank in digital editions

i have a sony reader prs 600 and i recently downloaded a book frome ebooks.com. I am new at this so I apologize if I am missing something obvious but I can't figure out why the book I bought shows up blank except for the front page which is a picture. After that there is 816 blank pages. It shows up this way on both reader library and digital editions. Does anyone know what I have to do to fix this? thank you.

Please follow the below steps and check:
    1) Right click on the book in library that you want to copy from your computer. Click on the "Show File in Explorer".
    2) Copy/Paste the book from this location to your SD card.
    3) On your tablet open the book from your SD card in your ereader.
You need to make sure that you authorize your ereader with the same ID with which you authorized your computer. In case you do not remember which ID you used for authorizing your Digital Edition, click     Help-> Authorization Information.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't, please specify the ereader that you are using and the exact error message that you are getting. Thanks!

  • EBooks in Digital Editions not appearing on Kobo eReader

    Hello
I'm using my ereader for the first time: Kobo Ereader Touch 6".
I downloaded a book from google play.
Opened it in Adobe Digital Editions v4.
Downloaded the epub and pdf files.
Plugged the ereader into the computer.
    Authorized my eReader with Adobe.
I can see KOBOeReader under Devices in Adobe.
I've added the upub version of the book in Adobe Digital Editions.
I've opened the Kobo desktop application and synced the device.
I've also tried wirelessly syncing the device.
I still can't see the book on the ereader.
I've tried restarting the ereader and digital editions in different orders but nothing has helped.
Can you please help me to get this working.
    Thank-you

  • Adobe digital editions 2.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close?

When attempting to launch Adobe Digital Editions I get "adobe digital editions 2.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close"
    Windows XP
This product has been working until today
    Tried uninstalling and reinstalling

I don't know why it has stopped ~ maybe an incompatible Windows update.
Unless you really need the (few) extra features of  2.0, you'll be much better off on 1.7.2.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0.  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

  • I have Adobe Digital Editions Library and need to transfer some books out of one computer to another?

I recently got a macbook air and want to transfer some books from my Adobe Digital Edition Library that is on my Apple iMac onto my new Macbook Air. Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi pamilafaye,
I've moved your question from the Acrobat.com forum to the Adobe Digital Editions forum, as you're more likely to find someone to answer your question here.
