MARS Custom Package Help

We use Microsoft Forefront for our Antivirus/antispyware in our organization. I would like to create a custom package/event/device in MARS. I would like to have the ability for MARS to see if there is a virus infection or if it's spreading inside out network.
I've been talking with our server admin, and he says that the Forefront program logs everything to a SQL database and probably can export syslog info.
I've looked through the MARS documentation (v 6.02) and have the 2 Cisco MARS books, but I find it's still complicated.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok. After talking with my server guy, I found out that the Forefront app just logs everything to Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM 2005).
So now the issue becomes how to get MARS to grab logs from MOM.

Issues with Custom Package in Lightroom 3...please help

I am having issues with the custom package in lightroom 3. I am selecting diferent cell sizes (with different aspect ratios) and placing multiple images in these cells.
On screen everything looks good, but when it actually prints some of these cells are coming out stretched!! For example, the 6x4 cell comes out fine (same aspect ratio as the original capture), but i have 2 x 1.5 inch cell whose image comes out stretched??
The first thing I thought of was the "zoom to fit" option, but this is not present in picture package.
Then I thought it perhaps it was something to do with the my print settins, but cannot find anything there.

I am having the same issue. I used a Matt Kloskowski print grid and when I printed it, or printed to file, some of the images in the 15 that were created in the template were distorted. Some the faces became wider and some narrower. Not just zoomed to fit. On screen it all looks correct. Many others on the forum where the template was posted don't seem to have this issue. I created a template myself just in case that was it but I got the same problem as walenahs. I tried to figure out what he had done but I didn't get it.
I have attached the two images. You can see the distortion in the second image on the top row (too narrow), and on the second row, the second in and second down, black and white (too wide).

We have created a custom package where in we are trying to call the standard API's of Oracle projects i.e PA_PROJECT_PUB.When we are trying to call these APIs we are facing the below issue.
We have tried testing in two instances ,Initially it worked in both instances.
Using the same API's multiple times we tested the same data set in these instances.
For the first few runs it works fine.But when we go on using the same API's again and again for our testing we face now and then the below issue.

How do I personalize a form to call a custom package instead of standard

We are finding that the vertex tax package is not correctly calculating the taxes for AR late changes. The late payment charge invoices are being created without an item and we know that if we had this in there the taxes would be calculated correctly. We have a solution designed by a senior architect and would like to pursue that approach unless it has been established it is impossible.
From the Batch maintenance form ARIINR.fmb there is a generate button. It calls some pl/sql and eventually the api to create the invoice. What we want to do here is from the when button pressed trigger call a custom package (with most of the same logic intact). The problem is is that we don't want to call both the custom and standard package, only the custom one.
My question is really is there any way to avoid calling the standard package by exiting out of the trigger after the custom package completed? I know I could easily change the standard form to accomplish this but we want to accomplish this in such a way to still maintain our support with Oracle on this form. So we are looking to do this via a personalization or custom.pll change.

To my knowledge, both CUSTOM.pll and Forms Personalization execute code in addition to standard code, not instead off.

OWA_SEC.CUSTOM package - Custom authentication procedures...

I haven't ever used the OWA_SEC.CUSTOM package for custom authentication of a psp application - and now need to do so. The documentation doesn't have any examples of what I need to do. Although there is plenty of documentation - it all says the same stuff, without saying what developers need to do to get it to work.
For example I have updated the following files in the following ways - and still it doesn't work:

Can anyone tell me what I am missing / doing wrong.
For example:
When I take out the username/password reference from the wdbsvr.app file - the browswer tries to authenticate me and the only username/password that validates is the username/password of the database user.
I don't want to have to have database users for every application user that should be authenticated in my application. I want to put a routine in the owacust.sql file that authenticates users (via my own routine or an optional LDAP/radius/SecurID lookup). In this basic example - I am only validating with the cmanning/cmanning combination.
From what I understand in the documentation - if I use OWA_SEC.CUSTOM - then I don't have to put a .authorize function in every package - the OWA agent simply authenticates every request via the OWA_CUSTOM.authorize function.....

It looks to me like you want your users authenticated when they try to view your pl/sql-generated html pages, but you want to control the validation with custom code.
You appear to be trying to use owa_custom.authorize to authorize each request, which seems like a good approach.
This whole area is quite complex and I have never found any really comprehensive doco on it. Here are my thoughts which others might like to comment on.
This is a simple version of owa_custom:

Note the begin block that applies to the package and sets authorization to GLOBAL when the package is loaded.
The authentication mode in the DAD will need to be Global Owa (afaik) and you will need to supply an oracle username and password in the DAD. ie. you will authenticate the userid/password supplied by the user and then the user will connect to the database as the oracle user specified in the DAD.
I cannot test this code at the moment. Nor can I give you complete instructions to set up authentication from scratch. But here's a brief description of what the code should do.
1. It sets authorization to GLOBAL. So mod_plsql will call owa_custom.authorize for every request. That is, you don't call owa_custom.authorize, it will be done for you and the internals probably look like this:

2. It sets up a realm, which is relevant to HTTP Basic Authentication and its challenge/response. (You don't have to use HTTP Basic Authentication. An alternative is to present a login form to the user, then you manage the userid/password.)
3. It looks in owa.user_id which will hold the userid supplied by the browser after a HTTP Basic Authentication challenge/response.
4. It uses your custom code to validate the userid and password once the user has been challenged to provide these. You obviously have to create the my_validate_user procedure in the schema and package of your choice.
5. It does not time users out, it does not sustain multi-sessions per user via cookies and it does not support logout without shutting the browsers. But it is simpler for lacking these features.
If this is a way you want to try then your first aim should be to make sure owa_custom is called globally and that it lets you into the database via the DAD-supplied userid and password. You may need some way of writing debug on the server using utl_file to confirm it is being called. Or you could make it return true unconditionally, request a page, then make it return false and request a page.
This is just a start, but let me know if it is on topic.
It would be great to hear suggestions and comments from others on authentication for an htp application under iAS.

Undefined method error in custom package even with proper import

I edited the title of this thread to be a little more descriptive about the help I need.
The background: I have a multi-file Flash application that allows users to navigate through multiple pages (similar to a website). I realized yesterday that with each mouse click, I'm loading a page into memory, but not unloading it. After navigating through several pages, my memory really starts to take a hit. So, I want to define a custom package that loads each page and unloads the previous page.
I've gotten as far as defining the pageLoad function, but I keep getting an error that doesn't make sense to me (unless I'm importing the wrong flash packages).
When I test the Flash, I consistently get the following error:
dtutils.as – 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method addChild. – addChild(pageLoader);
Everything I have found indicates that to import the addChild method, I need to import flash.display.Sprite, which I'm doing, but I am still getting the error.
You'll have to forgive me as I'm not extremely familiar with objects or actionscript. I'm more of a hacker, but I grasp things quickly and can build on what I've already learned. This might be obvious to others, but I can't find anything that indicates that I'm doing anything wrong with my code, so any help you can give is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for the feedback. Being fairly new with actionscript (and an object approach, in general), and not being a real developer, I often struggle with naming conventions. Didn't even realize there was a specific convention for what is considered a utility and what isn't. However, I appreciate your feedback and will rename my package so that it isn't confusing to any other real developers that may need to do something with this code in the future.

How to import custom package in JSP

I wrote a jsp file that imports some custom packages in a jar file. I've put that jar file in the classpath, the WEB-INF/classes directory, the orion directory etc...But I kept getting the "Package doesn't exist" compiling error in the borowser. Would you please help and tell me what I'm missing here?

Need help on - custom F4 help

Requirement :
Suppose I have 3 I/O screen fields :

The custom F4 help is provided only on File_name using 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'. The F4 pops up as required which again has some additional fields with file_name.

[SOLVED] Can Pacman Manage My Custom Packages

I am going to make a custom build of MPlayer because I want it patched to take advantage of the Compiz Video plugin. I think I might enable a couple other options that are disabled as well. The thing I'm not sure of is how pacman will react to my package. I know I can install it with pacman, but when a new official MPlayer package is released in the repos, will it update it and override my custom package? If so, I thought it might help if I changed the package name, but then I thought that might mess up dependency tracking. For instance, if I make a custom package of which other packages rely on, will those other packages be able to see mine and list the dependency as fulfilled?
Basically I want a way for my system to see my custom package as something that can fulfill dependencies for other official packages that might rely on that particular program. But at the same time I don't want it overridden when a new official package comes out since it likely won't contain the options I want enabled. If it would give a message indicating a new version is available but not install it, that would really help. Is this possible, and what would be the best way to handle this?

Meric -- Another package helper (packer fork)

Hi. Here is Meric. I have made modifications to famous and well written "packer" (thanks to Matthew Bruenig) to fit my needs. So a packer fork "Meric" has born. I decided to share it with community. But remember, i am neither a coder nor a bash expert. So, my modifications may be an ugly hack to packer; but it just works for me. I hope you'll enjoy it. All credits must go Mr. Bruening.

Meric is a package helper for Arch Linux. It can retrieve packages from official repositories and Arch User Repository (a.k.a. AUR).
Meric is a fork of famous "packer" which is developed by Matthew Bruenig <[email protected]>
Meric is born from the needs of the autor.
Meric has a few differences from packer:
1- Meric has a config file. Users may use it for daily meric tasks instead of using options in commandline. Also makepkg options can be set there. Once options have been set; meric can call makepkg with these options by default.
2- Meric has the ability of remove installed dependencies after package creation. Like "makepkg -r". Not perfect but it works for my needs.
3- Meric can skip checking and installing from specified repositories with "--skip-repo" option. This is useful when you setup your custom repository with AUR packages. Aur helpers, including packer, won't treat those packages as aur packages because it thouhgt that they came from a repo (your custom repo). So those packages always skipped when AUR updates checking phase. This option prevents this for you.( also can be set in meric.conf to make it default behaviour)
4- Meric can use translations. For the sake of keep package and its dependencies minimal; only one text file (in bash script format) is used to hold and provide all translations. See TRANSLATIONS section.
5- Meric can call pacman with a custom pacman.conf file for all pacman related operations. Just place your custom pacman.conf under $HOME/.config/meric/ directory.

Unable to save a Z-Tcode in Custom Package,unable to assign a transport Req

Hi all,
I am trying to create a T-code for standard SAP Program RSTXPDFT4. I was able to successfully create a T-code for this report program which has selection screen.
But I created it as a Local Object.
Now I am trying to create another T-code for the same SAP standard program in our custom package used in our company called /ABCDE/FGH01.
But it does not allow me to save the T-code in this custom package and throws an error saying
u201CCustomer Object Z_TCODE cannot be assigned to package /ABCDE/FGH01 u201D.
Why am I unable to save it in a custom package and assign a transport request for it, Is it because I am creating t-code for standard SAP program? If I try to save it as local object I donu2019t get any error and it works perfect. But my actual requirement is to make the object transportable and save in custom package.
Some one please help me with this.

/ABCDE/ is a registered namespace, and could very well be customer code. It is not all Y and Z any more.
One thing we noticed when we used a registered namespace was that if your package was in the registered namespace, then your object also had to be. That is, if your tcode starts with Z, your package name must also start with Z. if your package name starts with /ABCDE, the so too must your TCODE. I dont know this to be 100% fact, becuase we no longer use a registered namepsace, i just seem to recall that it was true.
be wary of creating tcodes that start with /, too... the users will always have to put /n or /o in front of them. In general, we really hated using the registered namepsace, and quickly renamed a TON of stuff to get away from it.

Deletion of customized package

Hi experts,
I need to delete a customized package which has subobjects. So i deleted each subobject individually into a transport request, I released the TR. Now when i try to delete package it says there are sub objects in tht package. When i checked the TADIR table I still find the entries for theese subobjects for this package.
I know there is a question previously on this.. but i tried all those it did not work.
In one post they mentioned to delete using SE03 object directory entry, I tried tht but it says object is already distributed so cannot delete.
In another post they mentioned about deleting the entries using the test program by bruteforcing.
Is there any way i can delete the package?

Web enabling custom packages

I have created a custom package in apps schema and granted execute rights to public on the package. Now when i am trying to execute that package i am getting Basic login screen. How do I web enable my custom packages? Also I am not able to get to /pls/admin_/ page. It also throws a basic authentication screen.
