MAS has 1 update badge. I open MAS, but no updates?

Hi,
This started over the weekend.
The Mac App Store has a badge on it indicating one update available.
As soon as I open the Mac App Store, the badge disappears.
As soon as I close the Mac App Store, the badge reappears.
I don't have any pirated software on the Mac, but I do have several apps that I bought before MAS came out... which are now carried in the MAS, but don't show as installed.
I've opened all of them and none of them indicate that they have an update available.
Anyone have any ideas how to figure out 1) why MAS indicates an update while closed, but not when open, or 2) how do I remove the bogus (at least in appearance) update badge?

I wish Apple would make this MAJOR point clear:
Apps ever purchased outside the MAS are not connected to those within.
When the next full version comes out, then if you real want to (neg reasons why not to use the MAS: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3071406 ) you can buy the new version within the MAS.
I personally wouldn't buy from the MAS for reasons within that thread above.
(BTW, the badge issue is because the MAS updates system does not work properly.)

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have tried VERY unsuccessfully to install iphoto 9.2.3 update...it says it has successfully updated - then on opening says: iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of Mac OS X.

I did get it working finally...and your last advice was what I needed.
I am embarassed that I was an early adopter...SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER and read the problems before creating some for myself.
This was an excercise in frustration, because of the obtuse division between the appstore and Apple Support downloads... it was a bit of a circuitous route...strange that with all the security reciepts and tracking that Apple goes to to prevent piracy... which Steve by his own admission used to build Apple...
Why aren't the server scripts smart enough to say…”HEY DUMMY you can't use this download because you purchased the last iPhoto upgrade from the appstore...and… DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME and precious data BUDGET downloading this gargantuan file which will eat 20% of your expensive 5Gb monthly data allotment!!!…and NOT WORK…only pretend to…and then foul your system….kill your productivity and turn your hair whiter…even worse than LION did.
I am just so antagonized by the inept scripts in recent installations that don't do a diagnostic before allowing installation that is going to corrupt things...I had less effort and frustration when I ran my ATARI with a MAC emulator...rarely lost any productivity to nonsense.
I AM TIRED OF BETAs dressed as products...designed and rushed out for Apple toys that once were tools of the creative trade...COREL...may still have a chance at a comeback if Apple keeps pumping out toys instead of the venerable tools we once adored as income enhancers.

to to apple menu -> software update or system preference -> Software update
( you may try to use an old package on new system )

When I download the update at work (Modena, Italy) I keep getting this file, no matter how many times I try to download it, but if I download the update at home (Cento, Italy) the file is bigger and I can mount it without problems.
I asked two friends to try to get it and one of them from Reggio Emilia (Italy) got the right DMG, the other from Padova (Italy) got the corrupted DMG and the "not recognized" error. We have all different ISP so I can not tell if it's ISP related.
I may be wrong but couldn't it be that some server in the Apple's CDN has got the corrupted copy of the update and serves it to users requesting the file from some specific locations?
Anyway, I opened an incident with Apple through Express Lane that has now been escalated.
I'll report back their findings as soon as they reply to me.

You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.

Updated itunes, now it has to close everytime I open it

I have been trying all the advice given on this page, nothing has worked, everytime I open itunes it closes down with an unknown error. It does has something to do with the library because itunes will open when I am logged on to a different profile, I just need to figure out how to delete whatever corrupt file in my itunes library is messing everything up.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Since Firefox8, every time I start it, it opens 2 extra tabs to tell me that Firefox is installed, and that dwhelper has been updated. These changes are not new. Also, when I open a bookmarked site, the previously open site remains open.

I hooked my ipod to my computer, went in to itunes and it was unable to commumicate saying i have to up date to 10.4.1 or something??? it has no updates available and ionternet was working and no updates available, other issues it is not working now..

The off button on the top was not working since new. also not sure why this happened but didn't return it as it was a gift and didn't have a receipt.
i can get to settings, and only the first page, it won't scroill up or down, unable to turn off since new, and when swiping to turn on the picture in middle gets a square box around it and then it notices that my finger is on the swipe section and will attempt to open and after a few swipes it will open.
it also appears like the buttons or screen has to be pushed twice to work, but sometimes you have to type or press your selection 5-10 times to have it respond???

A Mac with OSX 10,5.8 should synce but not restore with iTunes version 10.6.3

To restore you need iTunes 10.7 or later and that requores OSX 10,6,8 or later

When the user press the button Calculate Tax (see attached doc) and click on Tax details then this should be updated automatically. But it does not work it is empty and the user has to update manually.

How do I get an Adobe Air Desktop App to notify user that a URLRequest ".txt" file has been updated? via blinking system tray icon or something.
New to Air and need someone to point me in the right direction. I have been searching web for hours and probably not asking the question right.
I have a very simple Desktop App that just loads a text file from a web location into a dynamic text field at a set timer. it just repeats this action on the timer. right now every 5 minutes
What would the actionscript be to tell the Air App to look at the date or time stamp of the ".txt" file and notify user if its new?

Try to follow below steps
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Then open Application Support > Adobe folders
Trash AAMUpdater and OOBE folders.
Now click on finder and hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad.
This time type /Library and click on Go.
Make sure to remove ~ symbol.
Then open Application Support > Adobe folders.
Trash AAMUpdater, Adobe Application manager, OOBE folders.
Now Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + U keys on your keypad.
It will open utilities folder.
Trash Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Application Manager folders
