Mask and replace object on a moving item

I am new to CS4, and not too familiar with Photoshop or After Effects, and I was wondering how would be best to do this:
1 - I need to mask the label on the cover of the Blush jar, where it says "MICA BELLA cosmetices" and replace it with another name. The photo moves from left to right in the video so whatever change I make has to move with it. In fact there are a few photos in which I need to do the same, and the jars are at different locations and angles.
2 - Also, at the botton of the pic, below the white line I need to put another word to cover "MICA BELLA" and I'm wondering how best to copy the color scheme across the lettering.
I do not know how the original was created.

Stabilization is the process of stabilizing footage, tracking is the process of synchronizing/adding elements to moving footage.
Sorry if the answers so far are not what you wanted to hear, but the reality is that, althought it might SEEM like a simple task, tracking replacement content into moving footage can be quite complex.  There are huge teams of specialists dedicated to this very task on many TV commercials and films these days.  It's crazy to think you can attain that level of skill with a tutorial and a couple of hours.
In my opinion, so long as there's not too much dimensional distortion in the camera move, the easiest way to achieve a basic result would be this:
Export a frame to Photoshop and clone out the text on the lid.  Then select the whole face of the lid and place it on a new layer.
Save the layered PSD and import to your AE project.  Place the "clean lid" layer into your comp and align it perfectly over the old lid.
Now it's your choice - learn how to motion track, or simply move through frame by frame and adjust the position of the clean lid at every frame.  If you set a start position and an end position, hopefully the lid will be in almost the right position throughout the move, and you'll only need to make small corrections.
When you're happy with the result, add your text layer, use Corner Pin to alter the perspective, and attach it to the Clean Lid layer using parenting.  You might want to use a Transfer Mode like Screen to make it blend more realistically with the light falling on the lid.  (You might prefer to skip that step and just add the text to the lid in Photoshop, if there's no prespective change during the camera move.)
Use masking to remove the coloured text in lower frame.  Use Layer Styles to create a matching gradient on your replacement text/log

  • Masked and overlayed objects turn gray.

    Hello,
I am new to illustrator and I have come across a couple of issues:
    1) I do not have a black to white gradient option in my color swatches. I can still make one manually, but it is annoying to have to do so every time I want to use it.
    Using a black/gray background:
    2) I have an object that is on top of another object. The object on top is yellow and is set to overlay. The part of the overlayed object that is overlapping the other object is a regualr yellow/mix. The other part that is against the background is turned into gray. Why is this?
    3) I have a box and have made a reflection for it. I used a black-white gradient to have the reflection fade away. However, the reflection is completely gray instead of the brown. If I take the black background away, it is no longer gray.
I was following a tutorial on youtube and on the video, neither the reflection nor the object set to overlay were turned gray.
This is the tutorial for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCAbZBDwMPc&NR=1&feature=fvwp

Unfortunately, due to a slight disaster, I'm on a computer without Illustrator, so I can't check details, but somewhere on the Swatches Panel should be a button or a flyout menu that gives you a choice to see color swatches, gradient swatches, pattern swatches, or all swatches. If you select gradient or all, you should see the black-white gradient as one of the default swatches. If not, create the black-white gradient and drag the Gradient Fill box from the upper left of the Gradient Panel into the Swatches Panel and it will be there in this document when you want it again.

  • XML tag markers moved: Find and Replace causing problem in xml elements

    Hi All,
I am doing find and replace using GREP. While using the expression like $1, $2 (Found Items) in the change to field it changes the placement of tag marker. If the found item is a part of two of more xml elements, I am getting a serious problem while replacing it. (ie. The xml tag markers are moved.)
See the screen shot below, then you may get better idea. And help me to overcome this issue.
This is just an example to show you what i'm trying to say, there are so many cases like this.
Original text/ Before doing find replace
    After replacing
    Green4ever

    Hi Peter and John,
but it seems to me that the example is looking for any space that
follows a semi-colon and has two word characters following it, and
repalce that with an em space. I think you could do the same using look
behind and look ahead and not need to replace the found text.
Yes you are right about the look behind and look ahead. I'd like to show some more examples to show what the actual problem is,
    Original/Before Replacing,
(Consider there is another case here, instead of em-space some times normal word space will also be there)
    Using the Grep:
    Find What---------> ^(\d+\.(?:\d+)?)~m
    Change To------------->$1\t
    After Replace:
Did I make any sense? Eventhough this will not make any changes in the layout, my requirement is to insert the tab out-side the tag marker not indise.

  • Parsing and replacing text items in a word document?

    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could point me in a
good direction as to how I would store word documents
in the database as BLOBs but then be able to open
them in plsql and replace tags with values and
save it as a new document???
    Thanks in advance!

There are examples in the interMedia User's Guide on loading documents into OrdDoc type objects. Once you do that, you should have a relational interface to the object. Depending on the specific features that the Word plug-in supports, you may be able to edit the document in place via PL/SQL.
I'm more familiar with the OrdImage object, which provides most of the basic image manipulation routines for most image formats. I assume that the OrdDoc object provides a basic document manipulation API as well.

    Dear Gurus,
CS11 &CS12- Moving Price and standard price not appering for items.
is it a bug for my system alone\.
or a bug overall in SAP itself.
    Pls advise.
    Siva

    Dear Siva,
Its the standard functionality of SAP.
You will not get any cost related data in the reports like CS11,CS12,CS13.
You can try CK13N(which shows the components of the BOM along with the cost) or else CK86_99.
At Functional module level execute this one CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 and ensure X is included for the
    input field MBWLS.
And also check these SAP notes 177006 and 686509.
    Check and revert back.

  • Photos moved from an external HDD to another: Search and replace paths?

    Hi everyone,
I've been using iPhoto for a few years now and today I have iPhoto '09. I never let iPhoto copy my photos in its library when importing them, since I have most of them stored on an external hard drive. (Also, if the folders within the library would be properly dated like "2008-09-07" and not named like "7-Sep-2008" and "8-Apr-2008" making the former getting listed before the later, and if I could easily manage external volumes, I would be happy. But, I suppose that's a job for Aperture or Lightroom.)
I have moved my photos from a small 160GB external hard drive to a new 2TB external hard drive. The problem right now is most of my photos in iPhoto can no longer be displayed. It offers me the option to locate a file every time I open a photo, which I can do, but doing the same task for each and every picture among thousands is daunting.
To manage photos not stored within its library, iPhoto creates an alias to each picture file. I found a Bash script allowing me to perform a search and replace on all symbolic links in a specific directory. However, the problem is aliases are not the same as symbolic links.
Is there any way for me to perform a search and replace on all the aliases within the iPhoto library in order to make them point to the new hard drive now containing the pictures?
By the way, I'm also having a similar problem with iTunes:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2190505

This issue is the main reason why I never recommend a Referenced Library. Some folks have had success using an app called _[File Buddy|http://www.skytag.com/filebuddy]_ to reconnect the aliases. If that fails then I'm afraid then you will find yourself reconnecting them manually.
Running a Managed Library this issue simply doesn;t arise. And of course, you can easily run a Library from an external disk and easily move Libraries between disks.
Should you wish to consider converting from a Referenced to a Managed library, then AliasHerder is an application that will replace these aliases with the actual files, and so preserve your Library and all your work in it. As always: back up first.
How iPhoto names the folders within the Library Package is irrelevant as you never access them that way.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Is it possible to retrieve a registration key for a hard copy of iWork 06? Moved and cannot locate disc, and replaced the computer it was originally installed on. When I transferred the iWork from original Macbook Pro to new Macbook Pro, the reg key apparently didn't transfer. Any ideas?

Do you still have access to the old MacBook Pro? If so, you can transfer the license by copying the com.apple.iwork.plist from Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences to the same location on the new Mac. Note that this IS the main HD Library, not your user library. I have found that these files are not moved during setup or migration.
Are you really running Tiger 10.4.7? If so, you should update to 10.4.11. You can find the updater here. You also might consider buying the retail disk of iWork '09 from a third-party such as Amazon.com or eBay. It will add a lot of features for you. iWork '09 does require Tiger 10.4.11 at a minimum.

  • Find and replace an item in one column only

I have tried and tried and I cannot work out how to find and replace an item in one column only.
For example one column has a letter followed by a number which varies in length.
I want to find and repace the letters with nothing leaving the numbers only.
But when I try to do this all the letters in the spreadheet are replaced, not just in the column I have selected.
    Help please....

    Hi 8'
    Use a formula.
Insert a (temporary) auxiliary column to the right of the one for which you want to male the changes.
Assuming you description is accurate—every entry in the column consists of a letter followed immediately by a number of one or more digits—the problen could also be stated as  "How do I strip the first character from a string?"
Here's a sample. Letter followed by number in column B; number part without leading letter i column C:
    Formula:
C2, and filled down to end of column: =RIGHT(B,LEN(B)-1)
When the formula has done its work:
Select all of column C (except the ehader row cell), and Copy.
Select cell B2, and go Edit > Paste Values.
Select column C again and go Table (menu) > Delete column.

  • Object removal in moving video (use Clone Stamp or Roto Brush?)

    Hello,
I've been having a really difficult time trying to remove objects from moving clips. I'm attempting to remove the head off of the right most statue, but cannot find an effective way to do this... When I use the clone stamp, it tracks, but I cannot get it to blend in realistically, seeing as the color of the sky changes as the clip pans right. I also tried using a cut out image of the sky and tracked that, but that failed to blend as well...
If anyone has any suggestions for this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. I have this same issue with a couple other clips as well.
    Thanks,
    G

So I downloaded your video and took a look. To replace the head on the second figure from the left I simply moved to frame 250, duplicated the footage layer, used the clone stamp to replace the head with sky giving plenty of padding, set Paint to paint on all frames and then extended the paint strokes to the entire timeline. I also applied Layer>Time>Freeze Frame to the clip. Then I pre-composed the top copy so that I could use a mask to precisely cut out around the collar. I then added a Motion Track null to the comp and gave a quick motion track to the footage picking a couple of points on the second figure from the left that were below the collar. I ran a motion track, applied the motion track to the null, then parented the pre-comp to the null so that it would follow the camera move.
Took about 10 minutes. Here's a CS6 project file that uses your footage. You'll have to replace the footage in your comp and then it should work.
You could use the PSD that you created instead of all the painting and pre-comping. IOW, if you replace the pre-comp with the PSD you made at the proper frame then drew your mask and parented the PSD to the Null everything should work just fine.

OK, here's another example. This one gets the text as a string and uses the offset property to find "[", presuming it to be a merge delimiter. (Pages' text doesn't support "offset of").
One failing of this scheme is that the offsets are incorrect if you have inline objects (pictures, shapes, tables, etc.). While it is probably possible to compensate for them, that's a trickier proposition.
    <PRE>-- Example merge replacements:

  • Find text and replace with a pdf stored in the same folder

    Hello,
I have a catalog that is updated every so often.  I have written a script to find/replace the text from a .txt file.  but i have a pdf that i want to insert that is part of it as well.  Inside the .txt file i have the name of the document.  and the pdf is stored inside the same folder as the original .indd and the .txt file.
can someone point me at some examples on how this could be done.
    Thanks

I use this script: it puts a txt in a text frame, check the overflow and find/replace some words with a pdf. Hope this is helpful.

  • [Forum FAQ] How to find and replace text strings in the shapes in Excel using Windows PowerShell

Windows PowerShell is a powerful command tool and we can use it for management and operations. In this article we introduce the detailed steps to use Windows PowerShell to find and replace test string in the
    shapes in Excel Object.
    Since the Excel.Application
is available for representing the entire Microsoft Excel application, we can invoke the relevant Properties and Methods to help us to
    interact with Excel document.
The figure below is an excel file:
    Figure 1.
You can use the PowerShell script below to list the text in the shapes and replace the text string to “text”:
    $text = “text1”,”text2”,”text3”,”text3”
    $Excel
    = New-Object -ComObject Excel.Application
    $Excel.visible = $true
    $Workbook
    = $Excel.workbooks.open("d:\shape.xlsx")
    #Open the excel file
    $Worksheet
    = $Workbook.Worksheets.Item("shapes")
    #Open the worksheet named "shapes"
    $shape = $Worksheet.Shapes
    # Get all the shapes
    $i=0
    # This number is used to replace the text in sequence as the variable “$text”
    Foreach ($sh in $shape){
    $sh.TextFrame.Characters().text
    # Get the textbox in the shape
    $sh.TextFrame.Characters().text =
    $text[$i++]
#Change the value of the textbox in the shape one by one
    $WorkBook.Save()
    #Save workbook in excel
    $WorkBook.Close()
    #Close workbook in excel
    [void]$excel.quit()
    #Quit Excel
Before invoking the methods and properties, we can use the cmdlet “Get-Member” to list the available methods.
Besides, we can also find the documents about these methods and properties in MSDN:
    Workbook.Worksheets Property (Excel):
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff835542(v=office.15).aspx
    Worksheet.Shapes Property:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff821817(v=office.15).aspx
    Shape.TextFrame Property:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff839162(v=office.15).aspx
    TextFrame.Characters Method (Excel):
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff195027(v=office.15).aspx
    Characters.Text Property (Excel):
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff838596(v=office.15).aspx
After running the script above, we can see the changes in the figure below:

Thank you for the information, but does this thread really need to be stuck to the top of the forum?
If there must be a sticky, I'd rather see a link to a page on the wiki that has links to all of these ForumFAQ posts.
EDIT: I see this is no longer stuck to the top of the forum, thank you.
