Mask effect offset for scaled or reframed footage.

I would not have expected this problem to still exist since it was noted in the previous version. I'll have to try the work around of using an adjustment layer mentioned here Adobe SpeedGrade CC - Mask follows tracking, but effects within mask do not.
Please let me know if there is a fix I missed.

Adobe has known about this issue since the beginning of CC, and they have yet to address it. Until they do, Speedgrade is pretty useless.

Mask effect not showing up

I created a simple mask effect using CS3 Pro on WIn XP. When
I run the animation in Flash, the effect works perfectly but when I
publish an SWF file, the mask effect does not appear. Strangely
enough, I sent the FLA file to someone who has the same version of
Flash as me. He opened up the file, published an SWF and his mask
effect worked fine. Am I missing something here???

It sounds to me like you are not uploading all the files. The navigation for example needs the feed.xml file.
What FTP application are you using to upload?
Putting effects like drop shadows and frames increases the page file size and slows download.
Its better to take a screenshot of the image and replace the original with this JPEG. See...

Masking/matting plugins for CS5

I'm looking for a plugin that will enable some more advanced masking/matting features from within Premiere--moreso that the rather rudimentary and stiff Garbage Matte effects. Ideally, I'd love something that would give me similar capability to my dear old friend Animatte from Avid, where you have much more control to draw lines and curves and add feathering as necessary. I've got a bunch of keying work to do, and I want to combine a good masking effect with Ultra (which is simply stupid easy and amazing, I must say).
Does Pixelan SpiceMaster have this kind of capability? Or is it really more for transitions and PIPs?
And Adobe: make that Pen tool do something cool like draw realtime mattes on my sequence clips! K thx bye.

The Animattes you posted aren't exactly what I'm looking for, though those are interesting, and I'll check them out more.
I guess the best way to describe what I'm looking for is an analog of masking as it existing in After Effects, but in Premiere. Think of it as Four/Six/Eight-Point Garbage Matte on steroids. What I want to be able to do is throw a matte/mask effect on a clip, and then be able to add as many control points as I want, with the ability to create Bezier curves and feathering as needed. Basically, I'm looking to modify the alpha channel of a clip for both utility and creative purposes.
Avid has a fantastic effect called Animatte that does this, and more (like video hit fixing, for example). You can also animate these points to follow a moving object, or to compensate for something like a waving arm. I want similar control within Premiere, though I'm starting to believe it doesn't exist at this time. Yes, there are track mattes and so on, with Titles or other graphics, but I'm not keen on multiple layers when they're not necessary. Ideally, I'd drop the effect on a clip and snip away anything I didn't want to affect, similar to the way layer masks work in Photoshop.
SpiceMaster might do the trick; I'll see if there is a CS5 demo available (only saw up to CS4 on the website), but I'll email Michael and see if he can set me up.

Masking effect problem

i am having problem when i use this masking effect. I make
two layers 1 for image and second for effect and do the fill color
in effect layer .erase the lines by erasor and do the masking
effect also. the problem is when i run my file it only shows up for
first thing i draw . For example if i started with a line then it
shows effect only for that first line not for others.
please explain why it is happening.

How to find tz offset for a particular day (not today)

I have DATE values that need to be adjusted based on the tz and dst offset in effect on the date. I'm trying to figure out how to calculate the value to adjust them by.
tz_offset(tz) returns the timezone offset for the given tz for today. Is there a way to determine the offset for a timezone for another day, so that daylight savings time differences are honored?

Just double checked an alternative method, once your data is a timestamp with timezone, you can use the extract function to get just the parts of it you are interested in e.g.

How do you make a motion tween, mask effect and shape tween, with a flash website?

More of less, I will have three seperate pages for the motion tween, mask effect and shape tween... would you make the seperately, in a different scene, as a symbol or on the same scene with the website.

It's not clear what you are after since you start talking about separate pages for the three things, and then ask about how best to put them together. If they are going to be separate they can't be together.
If your intention is to have these three things in one Flash file, ut as separate parts of it, then I would have each within a symbol and have each symbol within the same scene (I don't use multiple scenes).

(Apple added that effect in some update …)
but on looking closer on your example, it asks for more finesse:
the shadow arm is keyed over the original ...
maybe some smart arrangement of layered, processed and delayed green-screening?
(means, not shot in font of a black bg, to get a clean key of subject...)
… would be my shoestring-budget solution
or, looks like masking, tracking, etc .. maybe tools like coremelt's SliceX could help you.

Keyframe shape mask effects?

Can you keyframe shape mask effects?
I'm trying to keyframe a simple shape mask effecting the outside area: -86 exposure to 0 exposure, meaning that first, inside the mask all is seen, while outside llittle is seen, then move to 0 exposure where all is seen. But clicking keyframes next to shape mask (below Color Correction 1) doesn't work. I input -86, click keyframe then move to where I want and input 0, but that's how the whole clip appears with no gradation changes.
Any suggestions?

I created some animatable masks (keyframeable on-screen control points). It's three keying effects: a single 4 point mask (like the one that comes with FCPX), a two 4 point set (essentially an 8-point), and a four 4 point set (essentially a 16-point.)
Please watch the video for best use guides. Most of the time, layering on 2 or more single 4 point mask shapes is quite addequte to do most of your masking needs.

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

I activated BCS and use update profile 000350 (Separate PB/CB budget lines; standard), we tried to post simple FI posting and the error come up

Procedure
Deactivate the year of cash effectivity for the corresponding budget category 9G and FM area 0100 in the IMG activity Choose Budget Category.

So I click the link and it goes to Define Budget Category screen where we assign budget category (9G) and time horizon (1) to a FM area, but not mention of deactivating year of cash activity.
My question is:
1. Where is the button to deactivate the year of cash effectivity?
2. What's the difference between budget category 9B and 9G? Both are Commitment Budget.
3. I dont remember assigning budget category 9B to an FM area. Where is the setting?

When you go to IMG - Public Sector Management - Funds Management Government - Budget Control System (BCS) - BCS Budgeting - Basic Settings - Definition of Budget Data - Choose Budget Category, what's the settings for 'Time horizon' field? It should be blank for 9G(commitment), if you don't work with cash effectivity.
9B is posting ledger, while 9G is budget ledger. You don't have to assign 9A/9B to FM area.

Problem with variable offset for 0CALMONTH

I have a problem with using variables offset for time characteristic 0CALMONTH
Let's say my current query looks like this:

What I want do now is to add a previous year comparison. So that it should look this way:

(LY_Sales should show figures of 01.2005, 02.2005 and 03.2006 in this example)
I used new selection for LY_Sales with variable offset for 0CALMONTH -12 but that didn't work. Figures in second line are zero. The desired figures would show up (if I expand the selected time intervall wide enough) in 01.2005, 02.2005 and 03.2005 but that's of course not what I want.

second row(selection) : Cal year Charactertic with restriction 2005.

I think you need data year wise .
Instead of creating a variable for calmonth and using it in the RKF , you can just drag calyear in columns and keep the Volume keyfigure below it . Keep only one keyfigure Volume and do not restrict it with calmonth or any other variable .
In this case calyear should not be present in rows or free characteristics .
You would be able to see the data year wise ..
Try this and check whether it is according to your requirement
If You need to show the data as Volume (01.2011) and Volume(01.2010)
It means you are only showing data for Jan 2011 and Jan 2010 in the report
In this case you can retrict Volume keyfigure with a variable and create a customer exit variable
for 0calmonth as an offset of -1 will bring the data of 12.2010 for Previous Volume(01.2010) key figure which is incorrect .
For your output you can create 2 customer exit variables :
One will restrict 0calmonth to current year and another to previous year .
Check whether this works .
Also , if you want to show current calendar months data , you can either use a mandatory variable on 0calmonth
and restrict the same in volume keyfigure or there are std customer exit variable provided by SAP to give current cal month .
You can restrict the char 0calmonth with this std exit variable if you do not want 0calmonth variable to be mandatory.

Offset for variable not working !

I have to show sales for last 5 months ( in 5 diff. Columns )
So, i have written CMOD code, where i am converting System date in to Fiscal Year / Period using FM DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT.
every thing works good, i do get result. but the problem is the Offset for Variable function doesnt support that.
I was hoping that, Now i can do Offset -1, -2 , -3...till -5 and i will have all 5 Periods.
But looks like its not working out.
What other logic i can use.
!!!!!!!!!!My Variable is Not ready for Input !!!!!!!!!!! So the only way i found is to convert system date to current Period and then off setting it till last 5 months. And i do need to so last 5 months starting current Period -1, -2, -3, -4 and -5
is there any other way to get current Period ( i guess only from system date ).
I think in my logic, when i do offset, its not offsetting the Period, but its off setting system date.

I am pretty sure offset should work, in your customer exit, calculate the current period as using the system date, once you get that, create a variable with the same name as you defined in the customer exit and use that variable in five different restricted key figures with each with (Variable, Variable -1, Variable -2, Variable - 3 and Variable - 4). If you have done so and not working, what are you getting in each of the variables, there might be some notes which could address that issue.
