Mass assign users to user group in CMC

Hi
How can I assign several users to user groups in a single go in CMC?
I have all the users pulled across from SAP into BO and I am guessing there should be a way of doing this.
Thanks

the suggested method is to assign the SAP roles to enterprise groups and then have the security set at the enterprise group level. this protects the security from being removed if for some reason the SAP role is lost.
the same protection can be done for users data by adding enterprise aliases to the SAP accounts.

  • Adding bulk users to a group in CMC

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement to add nearly 100 users to groups in the CMC. The users already exist in the system and the groups are limited to three. Is there a way to use excel to bulk add all the users to groups in one go, instead of adding one by one.
    Thanks and best regards,

  • Not able to Add users to Secutity Groups in ADS

    Hi all,
    I am successfully able to create the user in ADS in OU & users. I am not able to add them to the any group which is ADS. can any body help me out? it is much appreciated.

    AD gropus are managed by Windows Ad teams. You cannot add users to Ad group from CMC directly.
    Ask your windows team to add users to particular AD group and then update the Windows Ad authenctication from CMC to reflect in BO

  • Assigning Roles to Users and Groups

    Hi,
    We have installed EP 5.0 SP4...with Content Management...we configured the LDAP to Portal......all the users are maintained through LDAP only...the problem is assigning the Role's to user..here in portal how to assign the roles to the users...we are not getting the Role assignment option under Portal Admin TAB..is there any way to configure the roles to User's are Group's.....
    it is an urgent assignment for me..help can be appreciated...
    sudhir

    Sudhir,
    You can assign the roles to users and groups as below.
    1. Select the System Administration in the top level navigtion
    2. Select user administration
    3. You can search for a specific user or a group from this iView.
    4. Use the edit button to edit the profie of the user or group.
    5. Search for the role in the search iView.
    6. Add the role to the user of group and save.

  • Workflow to populate "Assigned to User" with AD group of the "Assigned to User" is empty or Null to user is empty.

    I am updating roles and would like to use the [me] and [my group] tokens for views.  I am planning on updating all the templates to specify an ad group in the "Assigned to User" field that corresponds to the appropriately selected support
    group.  I would like to avoid having the "Assigned to User" blank (this could happen either via using a generic template, or when re-assigning workitems) so I think I need a workflow to remediate any workitems that have no Assigned to Users.
     There does not seem to be an easy way to do this just with a workflow configuration.  Do I need to create a workflow with the authoring tool?  Can I create a workflow that will compare a support group (enumeration?) and assign an appropriate
    AD group?

    probably the easiest way to do this would be to create a console workflow that runs on create (or update, if you want this to be reoccurring) and checks for the looks for the Display Name of the Assigned to user. This would only be populated if there was
    a legitimate user, and would be null otherwise.
    you could create console workflows for each support group (i.e. If Supportgroup = NumberA and AssignedtoUser.Displayname is blank) that applies a template that contains the correct user or group for that support group enum.
    other options are available, so let us know what you're ideal conditions are.

  • Is there a way in 10.8 Profile Manager to assign certain users the sole right of adding/removing users to user groups?

    Hello,
    I want to assign certain network users the ability to login via browser to the profile manager for 10.8.x server and add/remove other users from user groups.  Think teachers managing their class rosters, if the class was a group and the users their students.  I do not want any other admin funtionality beyond that for them.
    Suggestions?

    Well thank you for being so polite.  Yes, on looking on my 10.8 server, I have the same thing.  How annoying.  I have no idea how to answer your question.  If the management abilities are no longer in Workgroup Manager then there's a change that the server doesn't pay any attention to the settings, so manually changing settings in LDAP won't have any effect either.
    At least I can verify that it's not just you who gets that result.  I wonder what happened and how we're meant to do this now.

  • How does one assign a user to several groups?

    I am a student learning Databases, Oracle to be exact, and am trying to install a developer's copy on my MAC G4 running OS X 10.4.11. To do this I need to assign user oracle to several user groups. Trouble is, although I know UNIX fairly well I don't know Sys Adim commands well at all. Can am one help with this one?

    Thank you for your posting, however I did try this before I posted here, can assign a user to one (1) group, but can not figure out how to assign a user to more than one (1+) group. That is the root cause of my problem. Do you know how to assign more than one group? Again thank you for your input.

  • Assigned Role in user Group

    Dear All
      Please help me assigned Role in user Group  . I create user Group  (  SURG ) . But i can't assigned Role ?
    Regards , Thanks
      Lannguyen

    Hello,
    You cannot assign user groups directly to Roles, however you can do the following.
    Use PFCG transaction
    1. Select the role and switch to change mode.
    2. Switch to user tab.
    3. Put the cursor in the blank line and hit F4
    4. You should get a popup window which asks you to provide search criteria for the user.
    5. Switch to 2nd tab Users by Logon criteria, here you should be able to find the selection field User group.
    6. Select the group you created and hit the green tick.
    7. All the users in that group will be listed in the User list tab on the main screen.
    8. Now to complete the user assignment hit the User comparisor button ( it should turn green once done).

  • Sharepoint 2013 assign users to a group

    In a test sharepoint 2013 sandbox area that is setup for myself and runs in the cloud,  I am working with 3 test accounts.
    I would like to know how to assign these 3 test accounts to the same group.
    I would think I need this in a site mailbox.
    I am asking this question since this is my first project using sharepoint and no one else in my company is using sharepoint yet.
    Thus can you do the following:
    1. I would like to know how to assign these 3 test accounts to the same group hopefully in a site mailbox.
    2. How would I access this group when I am assigning the task using 'start a process'?

    you can achieve this using server side object model which fetches the data from server as below link:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/104465/create-sharepoint-group-and-assign-permission-sharepoint-online
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/sagarp/programmatically-how-to-add-assign-user-to-a-user-group-in/
    you can achieve the same using client side object model which hits server only once using execute query method as below:
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Blogs/8244/add-user-to-the-group-in-sharepoint-2010-using-client-object.aspx
    try this link for second question hope it wiil be useful:

    Please mark as answer if you find it useful else vote for it if it is close to answer..happy sharepointing

  • Users are not visible in CMC

    We are using BusinnessObjects 3.1 SP3 FP 3.3. In CMC, we don't see the user list. We know that there are users exist in BO because when I check the groups in CMC, I am able to see users. When i try to create a new user, it creates it, but when i try to join the new user to groups, i cannot see them in the list. I thought it didn't create the user, but when i tried to create it again, i gave me an error saying that there is a user with the same name. When I click on the USER LIST, no users are visible. When I click on the groups, I can see the users belong to that group.
    I am pretty sure that there are users because all the users can login to the system and work.
    Does any have any suggestion?
    Thanks.

    hi,
    In CMC,
    Users and Groups -> User List
    Manage -> Top-level Security -> All Users
    View Security and re-assign the appropriate security.

  • Assigning roles to users programmatically

    Hi,
    I want to programmatically create roles, assign roles to users etc.
    I saw at this thread
    ADF Security Policy Store
    the folowing scriptlet by Frank Nimphius
    try {
    IdentityStore idstore = JpsCommonUtil.getValidIdStore("idstore.xml.provider").getIdmStore();
    try {
    UserManager userManager = idstore.getUserManager();
    RoleManager roleManager = idstore.getRoleManager();
    Role adminRole = idstore.searchRole(Role.SCOPE_APPLICATION,"admin");
    // create user
    //TODO check for empty username and password
    User newUser = userManager.createUser(this.username,this.password.toCharArray());
    roleManager.grantRole(adminRole,newUser.getPrincipal());
    } catch (IMException e) {
    // TODO
    } catch (JpsException e) {
    // TODO
    return null;
    this is a TP3 scriptlet, is it still working on the 11g production?
    I try it and i get a JpsException
    oracle.security.jps.JpsException
         at oracle.security.jps.internal.common.util.JpsCommonUtil.getValidIdStore(JpsCommonUtil.java:1004)
    do I have to replace "idstore.xml.provider" with something else depending on my configuration?
    thanks

    Hi Frank thanks for the answer,
    I check this functionality at WLS embeded LDAP and I shaw your "How-to configure OID for authentication in WebLogic Server" post.
    I manage to add users and assign them roles that i created at my application.
    But what if I want to have a super user that can create new roles and assign them member roles?
    eg.
    Developer created roles (policy store):
    accessPage1 ( granted all the necesery principals to access page1 )
    accessPage2 ( granted all the necesery principals to access page2 )
    Super user created roles
    Role1 member roles :accessPage1,accessPage2
    If i want my application to have that functionallity i must create roles programmatically wont I?
    If there another way?
    By the way I followed the advices at the following useful links
    Chris Muir: http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2008/12/configuring-wls-with-ms-active.html
    Frank Nimphius's How-to configure OID for authentication in WebLogic Server
    Edwin Biemond's Using OpenLDAP as security provider in WebLogic
    Andrejus Baranovskis: Practical ADF Security Deployment on WebLogic Server
    And I manage to add users of the Microsoft LDAP at the WLS
    but I could't mekae them group members of my application groups (roles)
    is this possible?
    Thanks
