Mass Change of Stereo Pairs

I have about 150 clips in my bin that are not marked as stereo pairs. When I put them on my timeline, I can change each one individually (via option-L via the keyboard, eg) but is there a way to mark them all from the browser? Also, was there a way that I should have been capturing them to make this happen automatically?

You are capturing as dual mono, not stereo. In the Clip Settings window of the Log & Capture utility, there is a button with two individual circles. Click it, and it will link the two circles and you will now capture stereo pairs.
As for changing the existing clips, string them all out onto a timeline. Select them all, go to Modify>Stereo Pair. Now drag them back to the browser and use those, instead of the individual files. May want to drag the old clips into a new bin so you can tell them apart.

Multiple Stereo Pairs in Compressor

Hi,
I'm having a problem with exporting fcp projects and getting the correct audio on output.
The fcp project has multiple, normally 2 stereo pairs (4 tracks in total). When I send the project to compressor I have a preset setup to create a quicktime mov, using the mpeg imx 625/50 as the video codec, and getting the correct audio codec is where I am having a problem, if I select pass through as the audio setting. When I apply it to the project it changes to 3.1 (L,R,lfe,C) Linear PCM, 32 bit, 48k,(the PCM and 48k at least are correct the res is not) it appears to me when pass through is selected it selects what it thinks is the correct settings that it has. Of all the settings that are available everything can be changed apart from the channel configuration, there is no option available that gives me the correct result. 4.0 (L,R,C,Cs) comes closest (audio levels remain the same, stereo pairing is lost, becomes 4 discreet channels in fcp)
Has anyone encountered the same problem? Anyone have any ideas how I can get this correctly configured?
I need the output to be(taken from an existing file exported in fcp in quicktime)

Ben, who has a pretty good batting average round here, probably meant to say "That's the H.264 limitation when using Compressor."
Multiple audio tracks in H.264 seems to only be possible using third party applications but I'm making this statement only after superficial research, never tried it myself and I have only limited experience with Episode, never even heard of the other products you mention.
Your experience with multiple track output in H.264 trumps that of the elitists and I appreciate you starting the thread, Steve; I learn something new here every day if I pay attention.

Using iMovie 09 with stereo pairs?

Talking to the geniuses at the local Apple store, it seems clear that iMovie 09 saves Ken Burns pan/crops to the images, not as separate data. This makes it difficult to create identical moves on matching stereo pairs, as the camera pans and crops would have to be exactly the same for the right and left views of the pair.
I'm thinking there's a work around for this limitation but I need to learn more about how iMovie saves its files.
Consider the case where a transition and pan/crop is created for successive right view images, then this is exported as a Quicktime movie, then iMovie is closed. If it is possible in Finder (not in iMovie) to substitute the left view image source files for the right view image source files, using precisely the same file names, then when iMovie opens again it would not know the difference and could export a left view Quicktime movie.
But I can't investigate this hypothesis because I can't find the source files that iMovie uses. Performing a swap out with the original files has no effect (at least, I saw no change in the thumbnails and the playback when using well marked test files. So are there hidden copies of the source files that iMovie uses? And if so, how do I locate these so I can swap them out?
I hope I'm making myself clear here. When I explained what I was trying to do at the Apple store today, the geniuses required several reiterations before they got it, because my intent is so unconventional and they had no reference point. But they did get it, as far as using iMovie as it was designed to be used, and said, no, you can't do this with iMovie because swapping out images within the program removes any Ken Burns pan/crops you have set for them. And there is no way to numerically set these parameters so they are identical in a new movie to those in a different movie.
I didn't ask them about a workaround that would fool iMovie when it is reopened into thinking it is using the same images, but I'm asking here. If I know how to locate those source image files, I can do the rest.
Or am I completely missing something that should be obvious?
(There's software for Windows called ProShow Gold that allows saving camera movements separately from images, and this is used for making stereoscopic slide shows with Ken Burns pan/crops. But I want to do this on a Mac.)

In my effort, the images for stereo projection are placed side by side as a pair in a shared frame, 2800x1050 total resolution. Quicktime Pro can make these and show these, and also a free stereo avi editor called Stereo Movie Maker for Windows. For stereo 3D from start to finish, it is important to be cross platform proficient. Of course, the Mac can make this OS switch, but I'd like to see more stereo 3D options in Mac native software, because right now, there aren't any. Our projection software is a custom build by programmers at UC Davis and our projection system runs from an Intel Mac Pro feeding dual Hitachi projectors.
I made a movie of a slide show with iPhoto, using 19th Century stereocard views, but wanted to take the presentation into Ken Burns territory with camera moves that are coordinated between the right and left views. I think iMovie 09 can do this with some, as you say, (ab)use. Hackers are the bleeding edge, right?
Our stereo theater is at Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Nevada, within the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center located on the Sierra Nevada College campus. The building is too new to see on Google Earth (or Google Earth imagery is too behind to show a building four years old).

How do I set up an MS Stereo Pair in Logic 7?

So we are now dabbling into the MS Stereo pair for our recording tech class and I can't seem to find an easy way of doing this. Any suggestions? I can't find a real time phase inversion plug-in or button anywhere other than going through the wave editor and doing it that way, which doesnt help much. Pro Tools and DP for instance have plug-ins that do the 180 degrees out of phase type switchup. Anything like that in Logic... still can't find one. Is there a free downloadable one that some of you out there prefer? Thanks!

I use MS all the time. Put an MS setup in front of the drumkit about 4-6 feet away pointing right between the kick and snare. You can change the width later to taste.
Yes, all you need to do is setup a stereo track and put the direction mixer plug in the first slot with the MS button clicked on. It does all the decoding for you. The only thing you need to make sure of is that you have the inputs set properly. If you've got the inputs set to Input 1-2, you need to have the mid mic on input 1 and the side mic on input 2.

Stereo Pairs

I have a question in regards stereo pairs is there any way around that when creating a stereo pair from two audio clip that final cut will not take the audio level settings from the clip above. I am doing mainly weddings and we use two wireless mics one on the left and one on the right channel, So I set audio levels etc for each track but in the end I want to put on a parametric filter to limit noise etc instead of doing each track i thought i can make a stereo pair out of it but as soon I do that it will take the audio levels from the top track and changes the bottom track. checked the manual and it says it in there it would do that but is there a way around, I tried nesting the clip but not to sure if my computer is not fast enough 4GB ram and a MacBook pro i always need to render the clip and when I put an audio filter on it every change I do i need to re render. Any advise

Making a stereo pair out of two tracks just to add filters is the wrong reason to make a stereo pair. Since you want to keep the levels, and possibly the pan settings for each clip, add the filter you want only to the clips that need it. Add it to one, then copy that clip; select all other you want to add it to, right-click on one and select Paste Attributes, then check the Audio Filters button.

Dual Mono Audio Mysteriously Changes to Stereo When Match Framed - Why????

Hello everyone,
I am having a very unusual problem with the audio on my project, which I'm working on in FCP 5.1.2. All of the audio was captured as dual mono (channel 1 + channel 2), and yet when I match frame the audio clip from the sequence it shows up in the viewer as stereo, panned to -1. When I double-check the source clip in the bin, it is dual mono panned to 0, as it should be. Also, the clips mysteriously seem to pan -1 in the timeline occasionally, even on sections that were verified as being correct in timeline previously.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and any solutions?

mmmm this is an odd one... the only thing I can think of is that you are changing these clips once they're in the timeline. It's done with a keyboard shortcut: option+L... it will change a dual mono track to a stereo pair. You can change these files back though... typing opt+l toggles the condition back and forth.

I do this all the time in LP-9
It's a quick way to setup parallel processing ...
or have total control over a stereo Mic'ed track.
The icons and choices look like they should work!
(stereo left for bus1 and stereo right for bus2)
... but no ... they don't

Just put the clips into a timeline and change them to stereo pair Opt-L. You can put them back in the canvas after that. No need to recompress.

Making tracks a stereo pair

I don't think it's possible, but...is there a way to join audio tracks, making all the clips a stereo pair at once -- rather than one at a time?

Which version of the software are you using? It works for me in 3.5, and as far as I know it's always worked that way. Select the clips in the timeline and press Option-L. That should toggle stereo pair on and off. That's assuming there are two tracks for audio for each clip that can be changed into a stereo pair.

Service Desk - need IB52 iBase "partner assignment" mass change

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are using SAP Service Desk in Solution Manager 7.0 EhP-1.
There are many satellite systems connected to SolMan using Service Desk.
Of course all of them are setup in SMSY, have a valid iBase entry in IB52, and have the "sold-to-party" assigned in IB52 -> Goto -> Partner.
Now we need to assign a new business partner as "sold-to-party" for all these systems.
We do not want to rename the current business partner, but have to assign a new business partner to not influence existing tickets.
Thus, manually we would need to go to IB52 and change the partner assignment in IB52 -> Goto -> Partner and enter a new value for all the systems.
Q: is there a way to perform a mass change for the "sold-to-party" partner assignment of the iBase entries? Is it possible to update or replace all or multiple existing partner assignments in iBase?

Can you please tell me how did you create iBase for NON-SAP Systems? I know it is IB51/IB52? I am not sure what do you do after that? For an example I went to IB51 and create iBase number 403? now I go to IB52 and put the 403 in the installed Base field and click on Green arrrow to go inside correct? what do I do after that? where is the options to create the iBase name call "Network Group" ?
How did you solve your issue for not showing when you went to F4 in NOTIF_CREATE? was that authorization error? if yes, do you know the object name?

Separate TCode for Mass Change of documents (For authorization purpose)

We have internal audit function where internal audit chief will remove the payment block of multiple vendor invoices through FBL1N --> Environment --> Mass Change.
Now problem is that authorization for FBL1N is given to 6 more employees (related to AP Accounting). Hence all these employees can do the mass change. I want to restrict this mass change authorization only to one person i.e. internal audit chief.
Please tell me how to bring this restriction.

You should contact your basis guy to do so...In tab authorization first you will have to find this object he system will display it , there you can assign 03 in place of *.
Personally i will recommend you should go for creating transaction variant using SHD0 which is an easy way to do so. Please check it will solve your issue. I just did both in test sever both of them are working perfect for me. Mass button is disabled when you set 03 for F_BKPF_KOA. SHD0 meets the subject topic of your post.

Contract Mass change enhancement in SRM 7.0

Hi Experts,
We are using SRM 7.0 & implementing new Contract mass change functionality for header P.Org. & P. Group data. I have created a Web Dynpro Component (with View similar to /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_AO_CT_MC_D), & implemeted a BADI /SAPSRM/CTR_MC_BADI & added an entry in Table BBPV_CTR_MASSOP.
After selecting the change method i am getting the error "View O_V_PURCH does not exist in the component YWDC_UI_AO_CTR". Actually, O_V_PURCH is an outbound plug of the WEb Dynpro Component. I am not sure why this eror is coming.
Could you please help me out in this. That will be a great help.
FYI - I am using Operational Contract Configuration document as reference.

Mass change of Pgrp for open PO's

Hi all,
SRM 5.0 SP12,ECS
We need to mass change the purchasing group for all open PO's in our system...Is that possible in SRM?
Is there any std report which can do that??

Let me frame my question in another way...if there is no std report to change the purchasing group in all open PO's to a particular Purchasing group...then do I need to change the Purchasing group for each and every PO manually thoruigh CHANGE Mode in PROCESS PO transction?

Sales Order Material and its MOQ mass change

*The issue is related to our Spare parts Ordering process in our company.*
We have a concept of having 65 days of back orders. Hence there will be
lot many open orders in the system.
The Material code will be changed from (for eg) M01 to M02. Hence forth the Material (M01) ordered will
automatically changed to M02 through Material determination logic. But
for the 65 days back orders, it is very difficult to change the
material one by one in sales order. There may be more than 100 orders
for a material. Even if the MASS change option in Transaction VA05
doesn't address because of the following reasons;
1. The changed new material (M02) may have new price with new validity
periods, whereas the back orders will have old pricing dates. Its
difficult to change individually in the open orders.
2. Some materials may have partially delivered.
Similar to ECM changes, there will be MOQ changes which also needs to
be changed individually the order quantity in the old Open orders.
For example,
Initially the MOQ for a material in 10. Order inflow has happened based
on this MOQ.
Now if the MOQ is changed to 20, future orders are addressed. But for
the 65 day back orders, we need to manually open the individual sales
order and change the order quantity.
Hence we require a mass change option for the open orders as below:
1. For Material Changes (M01 to M02), I will give the list of orders and
the line items and Qty for M01. The program should reject the existing
line item for M01. An additional line item should be created with M02.
Also the pricing date should be changed.
2. For MOQ changes, I will give the list of orders and the line items
and Qty. The program should reject the existing line item for those
materials. An additional line item should be created with new Qty.
If the material is partially delivered, the the existing qty should be
updated to the extent it is delivered and the remaining qty should be
updated with new material or New MOQ.

You can use BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE.
1. Get the SO detail using BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST.
2. MODIFY the ORDER_CFGS_* internal tables and update.
        CALL FUNCTION 'BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST'
          TABLES
            order_cfgs_value   = gt_char
            order_cfgs_ref       = gt_char_ref
            order_cfgs_inst      = gt_char_ins.
        MODIFY gt_cfgs_*.
        CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE'
         TABLES
            order_cfgs_value   = gt_char
            order_cfgs_ref       = gt_char_ref
            order_cfgs_inst      = gt_char_ins.

Mass change of payment in customer line item for all open line item.

We have updated the new payment as per the new agreement with customer in customer master. We want this new payment term should also be updated in all the open invoices which are not cleared. Is there are way we can do the mass change in Payment term as the open line item in the customer where line item are more than 50. Please let me know the transaction code for the mass change of payment term in Customer account balances.

first check weather the payment term field is having change option in your document change rules in the line item for you customers.

if the payment term BSEG-ZTERM(payment term) is there for your customer and having deselcted check box for changing document you cannot change payment term for your company code.
This can done client level or company code level.

Validation not working during Mass Change of Vendor Line Items

Hi All,
I created validation for Reference Key 1 field of Vendor line items, in this validation i used customized user exit.
Whenever i select multiple line items in FBL1N for mass change & try to put a unauthenticated value system gives error as per Validation only for 1 st item but it not work for subsequent items & put the unauthenticated value in subsequent line items.
I am not able to understand why Validation is working only for 1st line item during mass change & not for subsequent line items.
Please provide your suggestions in resolving this issue.

I understand your issue. First check if the changes as per the SAP Note 640908 (https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=640908) is available in your system.
Actually, Mass changes call FB02 in background and at this stage Validation gets activated and hence, the control doesn't go back for the next item changes. You can test this by deactivating the Validation and then the mass changes will me fine.
